My kitty, Morty, took his last cat nap yesterday. He was a young boy of 10, but he had bad kidneys. It's so hard. . My condolences to Pippi's family and to all of his friends and admirers. Animals fill spaces in our hearts that no human can. And when they go, even if we have others at home, that space in our hearts is visibly empty. There are those who don't love animals. Not "dog" people or " cat" people..or whatever, they say...I don't trust those people. They don't have those spaces in their hearts. My condolences to you as well, Dr. Jones. ❤

It's never easy, but it always looked to me like she had a wonderful life full of love and good things. To go, quietly in sleep, at the greatest of elder years they can achieve, is the best way. They can never stay with us as long as humans, but to bring them to a soft peaceful end after a long and well-lived life, with nothing more than simple age to blame... That's the goal. Love them and care for them as best you can, until their own bodies determine they have stayed long enough. So glad we got to meet Pippi and that so many will share her memory!
