When I decided to have furry babies I stopped going on vacations unless I can take all 5 with me . They love daily routine and no one can replace me. I love them and I don't miss any vacations ❤🐾❤️

Same here (but for out of state surgery), especially since the last time we boarded the dogs. They separated them because they didn't tell us needed flu vax? I had to give them all the other vaxes, too. Gave them their food from home. Didn't matter because I think they forgot about them for 2days. My kid had coworker go & check on them. They both lost 5lbs, only 15lbs max to begin with. Then, my sweet boy blew up, went blind, within 2mths of the vaxes. Vet said autoimmune or something, will die within a yr. No other testing, took at word. Lasted 2yrs. I regret not taking him elsewhere for testing & followup. We were living paycheck to paycheck, so... But maybe he had diabetes or hypothyroidism, I don't know. Just another one of my regrets, guilt of not doing enough.

@user-gj8ms7jd8v personally I hate boarding and I don't vaccinate my babies. I only do titer test every 2 years. I'm sorry for your babies ordeal 😢🙏

My German Rottweiler 2 years old, I am in the hospital and my daughter is taking care of her and I miss her so much and she is depressed, throwing up . I can't wait until I come home. We have such a strong bond. I even cry, I miss her.
Check , to be sure the dog food is the same ( ingredients). As she’d been eating.

As a long time pet sitter to help pets accept me in their home I visit at least 2x before I will be staying while the owners are gone. In addition I make sure the owners give me a hug, to show with body language that I am welcome in the house by their owners, I give the pet's favorite treat, pet them and get a hug on leaving from the visit (again, body language that I'm welcome). Keeping the pets in their home, eating their normal food at their accustomed times, play times, treat times, ..., so far so good most of my charges are happy to see their owners again but not pouty, or frantic. 😊

I am starting a new job next week. This is a bittersweet moment for me, because my dog isn't used to me being away regularly. I'm already missing my dog. 😢😞💔

Yes my baby was just like this when I returned from my trip. I’m never ever gonna leave him again 😢 next trip he’s coming with me 🥰❤️
My dog wouldn’t even look at me at first when I came back from a trip. He was upset.
My dog tells the time better than I do. And yes, they have a large range of emotions....I could never leave my dog, I did once for a few months and she turned into Hitachi. Thankfully I returned but I'll try to never do that to her again, Lord willing. She means too much to me.
As my dog got older (he's 14) he put his foot down and kiboshed my going anywhere without him. I would run errands and watch him on the nanny cam and he'd pitifully howl, cry, his mini seizures were even sometimes triggered. So no more vacations unless he's allowed to go along. I took him to work with me to my part time office job but now I work from home. I mainly only shop in stores that are pet friendly. There are only a few instances where he's not able to come along such as my doctor appointments. He rules my life. This is not ideal but he's my baby. I know it would not work for most.
Kept animals since I was 17,now 65,never been on holiday in my life,only time I've left. Their sides is when I've had to stay in hospital

I could not comprehend not taking my baby girl with me. FAMILY!!! They're family!!! Especially if they're a rescue dog as mine is. Cannnot imagine ever putting her in a kennel after that experience.

I dont usually leave my dogs. They won't eat or gets sick. So to me its not worth it. When I had to have surgery with a extended stay, luckily my best friend was able to dog sit. They love him and got to stay home.

As someone who lived in hotesl for awhile, some horrible people leave their poor dogs in the room ALL DAY while they're gone. This is so stressful. Please bring your baby with you!
My dog Keshi knows when I'm leaving as she gets moody when she sees the luggage out. However, she is well taken care at the kennel. I always filmed her reaction when I pick her up as she bowls me over.
At the end if the day they are still a Dog. That being said: I did some serious bedroom changing around. Different bed different layout - the cardinal sin - I moved to dog ramp. Changed sleeping sides etc. It was funny to watch them react. We have moved around the country many times... After a few minutes/hours all is right with the world. Gotta love 'em.🐾🐾
Once the luggage comes out, they know something is up! Their lives are so limited that I don’t even want to leave them overnight. ❤
Of course, whenever the routine is interrupted, uncertainty and insecurity happens. No doubt, if they could talk 😂 we could better explain we’ll be back soon !!!! Great vid Doc 🐾💖

Thank you so much for this video. I could see changes rather dramatic and really sad with my dogs playmate. His parents would vacay regularly and he either had myself or another person taking care of him. He used to go outside and race indoors to hide in a certain bedroom and that was sad and concerning. After I mentioned to his parents he was stressed and missing them now when they go away he doesn’t do that anymore and instead when I let him outside I can’t get him inside and neither can his parents. Years ago I said his play with my boy was “off” and finally they took him to the vet and was diagnosed hypothyroid. 😮
Course with hypothyroid (as I have it oddly) depression is associated. Wow even our pets are complex. Thanks again Doc! ❤

I haven't been on an airplane in 7 years. If my dog can't come I can't take a vacation. He's turning 5yo and best I can do is a road trip but not thru any national parks excluding dogs! Every day for my dog is walks and beach he would pine without me. I should have cage trained him as a puppy to take him on planes.
You need to get that poodle a friend. Dogs are social and i know you know that. If she had a doggy friend, it would help her.
Dog sitter let our dog out the front door on a busy street. We warned him, told him not to open door. He also broke a glass ornament, only nice thing my dad ever gave me. How did he break it? He threw a can at my dog. He didn't tell me about either, found out, needed ask. Never again.

From my experience, it helped a lot!! She interacted with me when on camera, and followed my commands seamlessly. She was happy and we transitioned smoothly between my work and off days. I especially realized this made a difference when I skipped video calls and opted for voice calls only for a few days (I was so tired from work). She completely ignored me for a whole day when I came for the weekend! Straight up hid behind her daddy and refused to look at me... pretended she couldn't hear me, unless I had a treat lol. Oh, a part of me diiiieeeed. The very next morning, she finally couldn't resist and plopped down on my chest. I never let a day go by without her seeing me ever again (I always got pics from the hubbs so I was always happy lol). She was a huskylab, for reference. Still can't believe I'm saying this, but Rest in Paradise, my sweet Nala!! I love you! ♡ 2011 - 2024 ♡
If my dog isn't welcome, I'm not going. I had to make this decision when I learned early on that my rescue dog has such terrible seperation anxiety that she gets a devastating gi bleed if I leave her behind. Strange behavior is one thing, life threatening illness is another. As long as her eyes are on me at all times, we live a very happy and healthy life. She is worth any sacrifice I've had to make for her wellbeing. It's just me and her and the love and joy we share makes any possible inconvenience meaningless.
My babies were so upset when we boarded them my male Newfie actually had the runs it was because he was so upset never again!!

We had my mother in-law pet sit and she reported that our dog bosses her around and told her when it was time to go to bed
My dog bosses me around and keeps me on track with his routine :)
Since 2020 we don’t leave our dogs anymore , they are always with us. Sometimes I go to visit my son and my husband stays with the doggies and vice versa 🤷🏻♀️

That’s my dog. He is a puppy mill and wasn’t able to train him from this . He won’t even take the calming chews . My dogs will poop after I leave and come back
help me with this please , I 'd like to adopt this tiny senior dog , 12 years , she already has a missing eye, and they want to spay and neuter her before !! saying she still has her heat periods and could get pregnant !! I replied that my own seniors are all neutered anyway . But they ad that this little one could get " Pyometra " if she does not get neutered !! and die ..

Farmer's Dog is so much better than processed, dry food. It's really good but kind of expensive. You could make some food yourself to save money.
The commercials for farmer's dog are real. Dog health improves after switching to better food like Farmer's dog.
