I've had conversations with RNs who cannot freely talk about other health care modalities if they work in for-profit healthcare facilities putting patients in a dilemma (at risk).
I found resistance talking to conventional DVMs about treatments that have worked for my dogs.
E.g. VSMT "chiropractic" on my dog who had a neck problem that a vet said would need disc surgery.
Between her chiro adjustments and me doing trigger point and myofascial therapy, my dog never needed neck surgery and lived to be 14 years old.
There are old world treatments that may have gone out of style but still work.
God is taking Dr. Jones on a beautiful journey that is blessing many pets and pet parents, especially those struggling with budget-busting vet care.

Not gonna happen now....everybody bought into the pet insurance thing....now corporations like petco & Walmart are getting into the veterinary business.
Petco did a pyo surgery & didn't put enough stitches in...dog passed away horribly at home...it's already a nightmare.

      IT'S THE FOOD.
Commercial dog and cat food has Seed Oils, Sugars, Carbs and Processed Chemicals - that's the cause of the DKA, Diabetes, Cancer, CKD and every metabolic chronic ailment in pets.
100 years ago no dogs and cats got metabolic syndrome. THINK PEOPLE. IT'S THE FOOD. Give your pets species specific ancestrally appropriate food.

Killing healthy dogs for a learning opportunity is one of the SADDEST things I ever heard. Everyone has regrets one time or another for not wanting to move against the the current. It takes humility and courage to admit one’s own regrets. Thanks Dr. Jones for telling it like it is.

My folks wanted me to become a vet, but I knew what would be required. My biology professors let me leave the room during dissections because I always lost my cookies and went into panic attacks. Couldn't function for weeks afterward. I still remember the animals... No amount of time will erase those memories. EDIT: I now do Animal Rescue. My life is dedicated to saving animals from torture and abuse. I still lose my cookies over what I see, and have panic attacks and can't get what I see out of my brain. AND I do all this for free. Thank Dr Jones for being one of those people who were able to become a vet and STILL keep his compassion and sensitivity alive. His actions have saved our Animal Rescue group THOUSANDS of dollars and given awareness to the plight of animals via his videos.

I don't even want to imagine what you have to see. I get angry seeing all these accounts on youtube posting videos of animals in distress - I don't care that they have a happy ending. People are so desperate for money I'm willing to bet a lot of those animals were put in that position specifically for the video....
      Capitalism destroys the soul.

I had to take Anatomy and Physiology classes during Nursing School. We were forced to kill frogs and then dissect them. Except , Several of us refused to do it. The lab instructor kept insisting it was "just a frog". I argued that it was a living entity that deserved to be treated with respect. The lab instructor kept saying that he would fail all of those , who refused to kill the frog. We did not give in and failed that particular lab activity.
Apparently, the Lab Instructor had never had students refuse to give in to his threats.

I managed to avoid taking biology in high school because of the dissecting of frogs. I knew I didn't want to do that. I managed to get a different science class to satisfy the science requirement for graduation. During my life I have learned a lot about biology which didn't involve dissecting frogs. I refuse to use those glue mouse traps either, because I think they are cruel. A friend said "but it's just a mouse." I agree with you.

I grew up on a farm and I love all animals. My middle daughter Abigail, feels the same way. She has wanted to be a Vet ever since pre-school and is now 22 yrs. old. From what she has seen so far, has traumatized her. She loves animals so much that she thinks that she can’t handle being a Vet anymore. It breaks my heart, too because I don’t want her to miss her calling. It’s so much easier, if you love what you’re doing, it just doesn’t feel like work! She has a gentle, kind spirit and animals just love her as well as humans, too. I know that she would do very well, if she could get over these hurdles. I can’t handle seeing abuse of any kind, either! It seems to etch it’s way into my brain, forever. There just has to be a more humane alternative.

Bless your heart for speaking up in this video! I graduated with a zoology degree and felt the same way about many of the labs we had. I had a psychology lab which used rats for operant conditioning. Many of the students did the shock experiments. My lab partner and I did not. Because of the poor treatment most of the rats could not be easily handled by the end of the class. My lab partner kept our lab rat and she went on to live quite the life. But much of the treatment of animals in the idea of "learning" is so very wrong and completely unnecessary!

Veterinary school was different for my dad in the early 1960s. He was a compassionate caretaker of animals - even the squirrel pups that neighborhood kids brought to our back door.
When the profession transitioned to the human medicine business model, my dad left private practice. He became an epidemiologist at the USDA and a lecturer at Cornell. He was surgeon on the team that did the first successful kidney transplant in a dog, helping to set the surgical standard for kidney transplants in humans.

This is true elsewhere. My BIL had the syringe drawn and was about to s****de when he rang my sister distraught. He needed a safe place and her permission to walk away from Vet.
He did a 12 month bridging course and became a secondary science and maths teacher. It was never his first love (marine biology was, talked out of it by a careers counsellor), but teaching allowed him to live, and continue to be a father and husband.

2,5 years ago my vet pushed me to get my dogs some vaxx, I said yes.She also saw that my pup had a bit allergy on her belly. She said to me that I should give her cytopoint injection as well. I was worried... but she assured me that everything was gonna be fine. Days later she had twitch on her neck, a week later she fell on the ground screaming. We rushed her to Emergency Vet and then neurologist. She then was diagnosed with SRMA. That's a long life sentence! Since then I practiced holistic on all my dogs. She was healed in 8 months (she'll be remission all her life). Right now I still blame my self, I wish I could turn back the time and said to the vet "NO". Whenever I see my dog I always say I'm sorry for ruining her life 😭 Thank you for sharing Doc ❤

I remember taking my dog to get some stitches. This vet took over fifteen minutes before doing anything trying to convince me to consider and purchase a line of processed dog food that he carried saying that it was so superior because he knew how good it was because he had a tour of the processing facility and they told him how good it was. I had my dog on the BARF diet but I decided not to tell him. I never went back. I'm very pleased that you are here to give proper advice. Cheers to you.

I've been a victim of that while our dog was in the ER sitting in a cage in respiratory distress waiting for emergency care.
Truly awful experience that still has me traumatized 10 years later.
A corporate vet, Blue Pearl. She and I were a therapy team. They basically killed her while she sat in a cage looking at us while the vet was upselling and delaying emergency treatment (like providing oxygen at a minimum).
Do for-profit human hospitals treat patients like this? No.

Thank you for maintaining your vision. 30 years or so ago I was in the midst of applying to vet school. I was visiting Cornell Vet School and saw a herd of ponies running over a hilly pasture - so beautiful. My guide said, those are the ponies they use to practice surgery on. A lot of them don't make it. I went home and cancelled my applications. Maybe I could have gotten through school without doing that, maybe I could have endured it, but it just felt so opposed to why I wanted to be there. I know we need to practice things, and thank goodness we have technology now to do that without harming our honored friends.

We need more vets like you! Since waking up from the deep deep mind control, I have learned so much about health that I can’t bring myself to have my animals see another vet unless they are willing to treat my pets how I think they should be treated. I’ve already had convo’s with my vet. I said no more vaccinations for my animals! They do not need them after first initial shots. He was ok with it. I changed food I feed my animals. New vets need to be like you and question everything !

Oh my goodness. That would have haunted me for life, knowing the healthy animals died afterwards!!! When I was in college, (not for vet medicine, but substance abuse counseling) I made a comment when asked my thoughts and the instructor made sure I paid for it dearly. So its lucky you said nothing., in my opinion. I never finished my program, but transfered my credits to apply for my B.A. in Psychology at another school.
Myself, I love animals more than people. Hence my videos on YT rescuing,
animals, caring for them and even volunteering for the trap/neuter cat colonies.
I had to make the hardest decision of my fur mom life yesterday to put my rescue Akita Rocko to rest. I've have had Rocko since 2010 who was around 1-2 years at the time.
I'm a full believer of alternative medinine. Rocko had accupuncture and herbal suppliments which kept him around much longer with me.❤

I'm not shocked by that it explains why vets are so emotionally detached when treating animals. During stupid COVID rules we had to have our beloved dog put down and the Vet enforced a rule stating only one of us could be with our dog during this procedure. I left my wife with our baby whilst I went and sat in the car and I cried my eyes out because both my wife and I are retired and we spend all of our time with our dogs. I will never forgive them for that and it made me change my mind with vets as they have no heart every animal is a commodity with earning potential from treatments, tests and they are completely emotionally detached.

Don’t be too hard on yourself, you were much younger then. We all have regrets about things we should have stood up for back then, but we were probably intimidated. That’s a brave thing to admit. It still clearly hurts you. It was probably so shocking that it paralyzed you and other students - and it was a time where students weren’t supposed to question their “respected” professors. You can’t be faulted for that. However, you’ve fortunately more than made up for those dogs’ sacrifice by honoring them through your subsequent work in the next 30 years. There was clearly no clinical value for their death, but you honored the lives lost in the manner that you’ve treated all the patients and their human families ever since. That should count for something.

Thank you for this video and your compassion. Several years ago (4), I attended a research forum in San Diego. One of the faculty docs gave a presentation that essentially said that the use of animals in research never translates to humans...and he emphasized never. When you work at a university in research, you can ask questions and get straight-up answers because they are your friends and colleagues. My response is usually, "Oh really? How do you feel about that?"
