Animals need more vets like you. Keep on telling the truth.
Amen
Thank you for caring. You are a good Man,we need so many more like you ❤
I've had conversations with RNs who cannot freely talk about other health care modalities if they work in for-profit healthcare facilities putting patients in a dilemma (at risk).
I found resistance talking to conventional DVMs about treatments that have worked for my dogs.
E.g. VSMT "chiropractic" on my dog who had a neck problem that a vet said would need disc surgery.
Between her chiro adjustments and me doing trigger point and myofascial therapy, my dog never needed neck surgery and lived to be 14 years old.
There are old world treatments that may have gone out of style but still work.
God is taking Dr. Jones on a beautiful journey that is blessing many pets and pet parents, especially those struggling with budget-busting vet care.
Not gonna happen now....everybody bought into the pet insurance thing....now corporations like petco & Walmart are getting into the veterinary business.
Petco did a pyo surgery & didn't put enough stitches in...dog passed away horribly at home...it's already a nightmare.
IT'S THE FOOD.
Commercial dog and cat food has Seed Oils, Sugars, Carbs and Processed Chemicals - that's the cause of the DKA, Diabetes, Cancer, CKD and every metabolic chronic ailment in pets.
100 years ago no dogs and cats got metabolic syndrome. THINK PEOPLE. IT'S THE FOOD. Give your pets species specific ancestrally appropriate food.
Killing healthy dogs for a learning opportunity is one of the SADDEST things I ever heard. Everyone has regrets one time or another for not wanting to move against the the current. It takes humility and courage to admit one’s own regrets. Thanks Dr. Jones for telling it like it is.
Your a GREAT VET!❤
This is evil.
My folks wanted me to become a vet, but I knew what would be required. My biology professors let me leave the room during dissections because I always lost my cookies and went into panic attacks. Couldn't function for weeks afterward. I still remember the animals... No amount of time will erase those memories. EDIT: I now do Animal Rescue. My life is dedicated to saving animals from torture and abuse. I still lose my cookies over what I see, and have panic attacks and can't get what I see out of my brain. AND I do all this for free. Thank Dr Jones for being one of those people who were able to become a vet and STILL keep his compassion and sensitivity alive. His actions have saved our Animal Rescue group THOUSANDS of dollars and given awareness to the plight of animals via his videos.
I don't even want to imagine what you have to see. I get angry seeing all these accounts on youtube posting videos of animals in distress - I don't care that they have a happy ending. People are so desperate for money I'm willing to bet a lot of those animals were put in that position specifically for the video....
Capitalism destroys the soul.
God bless you for saving/rescuing animals ☺❤. I could never be a vet either, it would be too difficult to endure the things which happen in school like the things Dr. Jones has witnessed, and to be forced as a vet to use my own hands to euthanize, etc.
With all the rescues out there pumping poison into the poor animals I'm glad you're finding alternatives
I hope you eat meat.
That is awesome ❤
I'm in tears, you are the best Dr Jones. I felt your regret & sadness while watching this video. You weren't to blame, nor are you responsible for the teaching methods used during your training Your honesty & integrity speaks volumes on your character. You've done so much for so many animals & their humans throughout your career. I for one, don't know how we in our house would manage without you & your channel. Sending lots of love & massive respect from Scotland. 🐕 x
Beautiful commrnt❤ I agree 👍
I had to take Anatomy and Physiology classes during Nursing School. We were forced to kill frogs and then dissect them. Except , Several of us refused to do it. The lab instructor kept insisting it was "just a frog". I argued that it was a living entity that deserved to be treated with respect. The lab instructor kept saying that he would fail all of those , who refused to kill the frog. We did not give in and failed that particular lab activity.
Apparently, the Lab Instructor had never had students refuse to give in to his threats.
Good for you!! This type of work violates moral standards for many & you should have been allowed to skip this without failing. I would have taken it to the dean or even the president of the university. But that’s now water under the bridge.
👏👏👏OUTSTANDING!!! I applaud your moral character 👏 ALL creatures, big or small have a purpose!
Truly sad ya'll failed that class because of your professor being such a twat and not a decent human being. BUT....YOUR compassion reveals what a PRECIOUS person YOU ARE 💖 My teenage boys and I won't even kill a cockroach in our home. We capture it and release it outside as well as lizards and spiders too. We live in a rural area and they can't help that they just wondered in. Lol , but I've taught my kids.... LIFE IS PRECIOUS!!
I managed to avoid taking biology in high school because of the dissecting of frogs. I knew I didn't want to do that. I managed to get a different science class to satisfy the science requirement for graduation. During my life I have learned a lot about biology which didn't involve dissecting frogs. I refuse to use those glue mouse traps either, because I think they are cruel. A friend said "but it's just a mouse." I agree with you.
YOU AND YOUR CLASS MATES WHO REFUSED ARE THE TYPE OF NURSING STAFF WE SOLELY NEED IN OUR HOSPITALS TODAY !!!
Yes, but are you VEGAN? Or, do you suffer from cognitive dissonance when it comes to animal species?
Love your truth Dr. Jones.
Your empathy after all these years is a blessing to more people than you may know. 💕
I second that!!👍
Not his truth. It’s the truth. Truth by nature is reality !!!!
Not his interpretation . It’s good to know Jesus because He claimed to be “the truth the way and the life no man comes to the Father except by Me” John 14:6 kjv
We will have to give an account of our actions and it feels so good to be forgiven and ready to stand before God with a clear conscience :) I’m ready for when He decides to take me !
Turn to Jesus for forgiveness of sins and for the free gift of eternal life ❤.
@@truthbtold6118
It is his truth. Truth to say what needs to be said. Let's leave it at that. Okay?
There is no such thing as ‘your truth’
@truthbtold6118
Oh my goodness, good grief... your seeing more into this than you need to be...
As Christians we ARE NOT SUPPOSED TO BE judgemental either...
What say ye oh follower of Jesus...
Oh you just brought back nightmares from Paramedic school. They swore the dogs were sedated! Mine started convulsing after cracking the chest. STILL TRAMATIZED! I hit the floor screaming at my Prof that she was a monster!😢
There was NO reason we couldn't have used a manikin. 30+ years and it still brings tears...😢💔
😮 Heart breaking x
That’s horrific, sad and cruel. Sorry you experienced that. Some people are completely “desensitized” to cruelty aka monsters.
I am so sorry!! It is so sad. It isn't ethical. They are not just animals. They are animals. This is why YELL...GET YOUR PETS SPAYED OR NEUTERED. AND DON'T BREED YOUR PRETTY DOGS TO MAKE SIDE CASH ON THE SIDE. The ones in humane societies , animal control go to labs. I'm not yelling at you, but I don't think people listen. It is too sad. There are those with cold hearts. At least yours is still intact. That's something to say, many lose parts of their hearts.
I like this vet. He's one of us. He understands. So many vets don't.
I grew up on a farm and I love all animals. My middle daughter Abigail, feels the same way. She has wanted to be a Vet ever since pre-school and is now 22 yrs. old. From what she has seen so far, has traumatized her. She loves animals so much that she thinks that she can’t handle being a Vet anymore. It breaks my heart, too because I don’t want her to miss her calling. It’s so much easier, if you love what you’re doing, it just doesn’t feel like work! She has a gentle, kind spirit and animals just love her as well as humans, too. I know that she would do very well, if she could get over these hurdles. I can’t handle seeing abuse of any kind, either! It seems to etch it’s way into my brain, forever. There just has to be a more humane alternative.
I'm sorry you had to go through that Dr J, all who did be it animal or human. That would haunt me through life as well. I hope you can let it ease away so you have peace. What we kept quiet about when we were younger we wouldn't once we were older and wiser. Take heart. 💙🏴
Dear. Dr. Jones...I feel your grief and sorrow and cannot offer words except to say many of us send you love and comfort and thanks for as pet owners you have helped teach us how to care for own pets.
Bless your heart for speaking up in this video! I graduated with a zoology degree and felt the same way about many of the labs we had. I had a psychology lab which used rats for operant conditioning. Many of the students did the shock experiments. My lab partner and I did not. Because of the poor treatment most of the rats could not be easily handled by the end of the class. My lab partner kept our lab rat and she went on to live quite the life. But much of the treatment of animals in the idea of "learning" is so very wrong and completely unnecessary!
I agree
Respect
To many people rats are vermin and less-than animals. Some of these lab rodents cost a bundle of money if they're not bred in house.
Rats are remarkable animals and deserve respect.
Bless you ❤
Good news , my son is in vet school and they are going to be spending 2 weeks on alternative medecine. 🎉
Should be 6 months
I couldn't finish this video. There is no justification for this practice. Thank you for your honesty, for helping us find alternatives, and also to bring light to what is going on behind the scenes. I love animals and I hate the pet industry for enslaving animals and treating them so abhorrently.
We don’t kill 6 month old human babies to see the difference in medications. If it’s not a CRITICAL part of the issue, then you are Anthony Fauci and God save us all.
Its terminal research basically.
Waste of lives.
If anyone is interested, check out the non-profit White Coat Waste organization (and Horse Racing Wrongs).
I agree, but at least it was truthful and the Vets today do it for money, not because they care about your pet at all. They stuff up, bad luck. Hate them like GPs. I will never get another pet after the one I have, it's a con and lie. They don't need jabs, all the time, people had dogs for years and didn't need all the crap.
@@vivrowe2763
It depends on the vet really.
Conventional vets vs integrative / holistic vets. They can be a breed apart so to speak.
There are rehab vets, chiro vets doing remarkable things for pets.
@@maryshkamiceli8388 Yes, not easy to find in Melbourne Australia or close by. I love my little dog, and have had one all through my life. The young ones are not like the ones I used to trust. This man and people like him are retired. It's all changing for the worst, everything is.
❤Well said animal cruelty. Is sickening. Thank you for caring x
Dr Neal Barnard who started The Physician’s Committee For Responsible Medicine (PCRM) has been legislating against these Veterinary schools for decades now. I have signed his mailers for many years. The public has had no idea what was happening and I thank you Dr Jones for bringing this out to light. It’s an absolutely inexcusable atrocity. 😢
Holy cannoli, I'm so sorry that you had to experience that.
That's one of the biggest reasons I couldn't go into veterinary school - I couldn't even finish High School biology.
It would absolutely traumatize me... I can't and won't understand these people who see animals as disposable. It's disgusting.
Thank you for being you.
I got sent to the Principal's office in high school because I would not dissect a frog. They did baby pigs too. No way! I wanted to be a MD or a Chiropractor but there was no way I could do that especially when people said they were using cats.
You were young, it was shocking, and you were told to defer to the teachers authority. Times were different. You have gone on to make a difference and positive impact in the lives of many pets, and their owners. You have spoken up, and out over the past 30 years in many ways. Thank you, from all of us.
My heart breaks for those poor dogs, and for you too Dr Jones. To carry this with you, this pain all these years, I understand. I was balling over this. God Bless.
I absolutely feel your pain. I can’t stand any of these things.
I raise my chickens free range,I raise my dogs vaccine free. I have given them topical flea/tick meds…. I live at the edge of a forest and the bugs are bad. I wish I could get a better alternative that works, but so far haven’t.
I am a nurse. There are many things I wish I had of spoken up about…. But I was a patient advocate (I am now retired),I didn’t care what the Dr. Said,I would argue for the patients well being. Didn’t win friends/didn’t care. Lol
I use essential oils aromatherapy oils work s well for my 2 doggies x
Dr. Jones, you have such a pure good heart. It comes through so easily. Your videos are done so selflessly and out of love for animals. You were young and just learning veterinary medicine. Even if you had said something it does it mean the professor would’ve abided by your comments. Thank you for sharing that experience.😢 Maybe a position in a new administration with the 2024 presidential election can begin the journey of remedying the veterinary business model. Good people are needed. 🙏
We have to start somewhere
Veterinary school was different for my dad in the early 1960s. He was a compassionate caretaker of animals - even the squirrel pups that neighborhood kids brought to our back door.
When the profession transitioned to the human medicine business model, my dad left private practice. He became an epidemiologist at the USDA and a lecturer at Cornell. He was surgeon on the team that did the first successful kidney transplant in a dog, helping to set the surgical standard for kidney transplants in humans.
Excuse me...but I love your dad. I love people like that. Still here or not. I respect them even if hearing of them. ❤
Doc we ALL regret not speaking up about something in our lives 😟 But know that you've changed the Fur family world 🌍 with your knowledge. Your natural remedies have sincerely brought millions of fur babies so much tranquility. We are truly BLESSED for you. I Thank you and my entire fur family...Thank you for ALWAYS teaching us the Best Care for our fur family. Sincerely Cecilia 🥹💫🙏🫶🐾🐾
I remember in high school biology my teacher opening a frogs chest while it was alive to see its heart beating. It made me sad then and it makes me sad now. Thank you for sharing your wisdom. Together we are going to help change the world for the better. Factory farming of animals hurts my heart. I am blessed to have 4 pet mini pigs. They sleep in bed with my husband and myself. I wish all animals could experience that amount of love
This is true elsewhere. My BIL had the syringe drawn and was about to s****de when he rang my sister distraught. He needed a safe place and her permission to walk away from Vet.
He did a 12 month bridging course and became a secondary science and maths teacher. It was never his first love (marine biology was, talked out of it by a careers counsellor), but teaching allowed him to live, and continue to be a father and husband.
Thinking of all Vets out there facing days of euthanising healthy or fixable patients, and whose depression and low income often seems overwhelming. 🐾
Through her tears, my aunt told me very similar stories of terminal surgeries when she was in medical school circa 1970s.
Thank you for being honest and sharing this here. Thank you for being a truly caring Vet and helping so many animals both here, with your book and on your website. You are a man with great integrity in a world full of not so nice people.
😮☹ You are so right about the lab puppies. They gave their lives so students could learn that one medicine brings the heart rate up, and the other med brings it down. Just awful ! The professors could have just told you that .
I agree 100% with the spirit of your comment and I am very ❤thankful for people like you. I would like to suggest that those animals didn't "give" their lives because that suggests a voluntary action. I think it would be more accurate to say that those animals' lives were stolen.
After dealing with vets taking care of my first 3 dogs, I can tell who is a good vet vs not. Dr. Jones is an exceptional and extraordinary vet, and we all benefitted from his unrelenting honesty talking about this difficult topic, not to mention his tireless devotion to educate pet owners on alternative vet medicine. We pet owners and our pets are so blessed to have Dr. Jones watching over us. These dogs, who were sacrificed for vet school for the sake of teaching, are watching over Dr. Jones. ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥
My dear Dr Jones, regret is useless and there is no place for it because there is nothing you can do to change what happened back then. However, you have been for a long time making up for such shameful veterinary practices by teaching the truth to ordinary people and showing us for free, how to help our beloved animals with natural remedies for a lower cost. You have nothing to be sorry for. I love you and your work, and I thank you for your kindness and for helping us keep our pets healthy.
Remembering decades later simply means you have a soul. Thank you for your candor.
This is why we love you DrJones♥️ You truly are an amazing person and vet. If only all vets were like you. One ThankYou isn't enough for all that you share and for making us into better pet parents. Blessing to you and your family. 🐶😻🤗🙏
2,5 years ago my vet pushed me to get my dogs some vaxx, I said yes.She also saw that my pup had a bit allergy on her belly. She said to me that I should give her cytopoint injection as well. I was worried... but she assured me that everything was gonna be fine. Days later she had twitch on her neck, a week later she fell on the ground screaming. We rushed her to Emergency Vet and then neurologist. She then was diagnosed with SRMA. That's a long life sentence! Since then I practiced holistic on all my dogs. She was healed in 8 months (she'll be remission all her life). Right now I still blame my self, I wish I could turn back the time and said to the vet "NO". Whenever I see my dog I always say I'm sorry for ruining her life 😭 Thank you for sharing Doc ❤
I remember taking my dog to get some stitches. This vet took over fifteen minutes before doing anything trying to convince me to consider and purchase a line of processed dog food that he carried saying that it was so superior because he knew how good it was because he had a tour of the processing facility and they told him how good it was. I had my dog on the BARF diet but I decided not to tell him. I never went back. I'm very pleased that you are here to give proper advice. Cheers to you.
That's upselling, the new corporate vet business model.
I've been a victim of that while our dog was in the ER sitting in a cage in respiratory distress waiting for emergency care.
Truly awful experience that still has me traumatized 10 years later.
A corporate vet, Blue Pearl. She and I were a therapy team. They basically killed her while she sat in a cage looking at us while the vet was upselling and delaying emergency treatment (like providing oxygen at a minimum).
Do for-profit human hospitals treat patients like this? No.
Thank You Dr Jones you are a God send - My animals are doing so well in their senior age because of you. Thanks for being honest with us. Your a blessing indeed. Happy 2024❤ Hi Tula
Vets are one of the professions that have highest suicital rates. I admire your passion and compassion for our furry friends.
It’s very hard to take a animal life
Thank you for sharing this. It is hard to hear, yet truth must be known. Thank you for your courage and compassion. 💔😥
You’re a good man, Doc, and we’re so fortunate to have you help us care for our beloved animal family members.
Thank you so much 😊
It is soooo difficult to find any alternative vets in the UK. I rely on experience, research, forums and yourself. Thank you 🙏
Alternative vet Richard allport at potters bar is very good x
As a retired Vet I am with you 100%, graduated in 1985 in Argentina, as a Panamenian came back to my country and worked for 35 years as a Vet. Take care and keep on saying the truth. Regards from Panama 🇵🇦
Killing animals for the sake of a "lecture" is an atrocity. Just hearing about it puts me in tears and for days I'll feel the pain of it. Thank you for sharing this with us and for being the human you are. 💕
I’m so sorry you witnessed that 😔 You are a good person, we can see your love for animals shining through your videos. Thank you for helping so many of us with this channel, and our fluffy family members as a result 🙂
❤️ I LOVE YOUR HEART ❤️ This makes me sad and in tears to hear. Thank you for speaking up about this! 30 years later does not matter! Today you chose to speak up about it and everyone around the world will thank you for this. Thank you!!!❤
Thank you for maintaining your vision. 30 years or so ago I was in the midst of applying to vet school. I was visiting Cornell Vet School and saw a herd of ponies running over a hilly pasture - so beautiful. My guide said, those are the ponies they use to practice surgery on. A lot of them don't make it. I went home and cancelled my applications. Maybe I could have gotten through school without doing that, maybe I could have endured it, but it just felt so opposed to why I wanted to be there. I know we need to practice things, and thank goodness we have technology now to do that without harming our honored friends.
Thank you Dr Jones for helping expose this unnecessary barbaric ☠ practice. Many people still don't know in the USA alone there is around 70,000 dogs bred each year for these kind of veterinary practices and lab testing 😭
From an ethical standpoint im sure we all have experienced things we wish we could go back and change for the better. We can't change the past but the past can change us. DR Jones through your channel you have helped more animals than you will ever know. Thank you.
We need more vets like you! Since waking up from the deep deep mind control, I have learned so much about health that I can’t bring myself to have my animals see another vet unless they are willing to treat my pets how I think they should be treated. I’ve already had convo’s with my vet. I said no more vaccinations for my animals! They do not need them after first initial shots. He was ok with it. I changed food I feed my animals. New vets need to be like you and question everything !
Some of these comments is comforting. In a world that seems to get more cruel by the minute, it's nice to know there's people out there who care about life
Thank you for telling the truth. You are so appreciated.💕 You definitely help so many animals and people to minimize suffering. Some of our traumas form our drives to do this. I have been decreasing suffering in humans for over 30 years as a RN. The horrors I witnessed shaped my practice. 🙏 You are a sovereign Warrior!
That is sad and disgusting. Thank you for bringing this out in the open. This practice needs to change so we stop killing innocent animals.
It's great you're speaking up about this! I graduated vet school 10 years ago and never pursued a career in veterinary medicine. Only now I understand how traumatizing it was to see all the animals being tortured and killed for the sake of our education....
the vets of the future NEED you Dr Jones. and the rest of us who wont be vets need you now and so do the animals. keep these vids coming. much love and respect and many many thanks Dr.
...this is why I love your soul❤...your story is why so many people in the business of veterinarian care subconsciously carry the low vibration of guilt and shame with them that slowly eats at them over time...the instructors who teach like this are teaching, not procedure, but apath; something veterinarian students never sought to infuse into their desire and dedication to help animals in their care....
You’ve helped me with my kitties 🐈⬛ Thanks for these videos Dr Jones!
I didn’t hear anything he said after he told us what happened to those dogs at his vet school. Tears, and even though I know it was hard for him to tell us that, his truth and visible sadness is exactly how a horrible thing like that gets stopped and changed.
Don’t regret your learning Doc, if you hadn’t have witnessed and experienced live labs etc you’d have never had been able to come to the conclusion that you have. The Worlds a much better place because you’re in it❤🇬🇧
So sad , I can picture myself being there and not be able to do anything about it and it breaks my heart :(
We are thankful you chose to be a Veterinarian…the best in our opinion ❤
How horrible 😢. I hope those live labs are not conducted anymore.
We all have regrets. Doctor you have done so much for us pet owners, we love u.
There’s absolutely a special place for you in heaven, Dr. Jones🫶🏼
I agree I wish we had more veterinarians who are as open minded As you. I have learned so much from listening to you. I just wanna say thank you for being such a caring person and taking the time to share your story.
But you went on to save lives. Count them in. For every companion animal you treated and saved, there was also a human heart attached to them. ❤
Veterinary medicine is steered by big pharma just like traditional human medicine..thank you for helping share the world of natural alternative medicine for our pets!!
Love - Honesty - Respect - No Fear - No Hate 💖💖💖
I am so sorry you were subjected to this abuse.
This broke my heart. I'm so sorry.
The story you started off with absolutely destroyed me!
I had no idea it was like that - God are you serious! I definitely know now I feel way more for animals than I do humans straight up.
I am beyond grateful for you Dr Jones and I tell everyone about you.
Thrilled to watch your numbers grow on UA-cam. I will continue to campaign for you and your ethics in this business, you have my word🤜🤛
Thanks for doing the right thing and standing up for us and our pet's 🥰
Dr Jones did not sell his sole, and all of us THANK YOU FOR THAT❤❤❤
Thank you for shedding light on the industry. It needs to be exposed!!!
Thanks for all you do. We need more vets like you
im like most people in tears,
Dr thank you for being a great person and helping all us UA-cam community.
Back in the late 1990s - early 2000s a young man I knew was also taking the Vet course at Guelph. They were STILL doing what you described, and he was in just as much turmoil as you about it.
Thank you Dr. Jones, for your honesty and compassion, I know if I were there I could not witness these things and I too WOULD HAVE SPOKEN UP, thus dedicating a cause to stop this practice. I pray there are now people in this field who have a compassion and refuse to allow these horrible inhumane practices. We need more like you. Thomas
You were built to reverse course. Passion speaks louder than words. ✨
With your example I hope many more people come forward for noble purposes in all professions.
Thanks Dr. Andrew❤
How horrible. Sorry you had to experience it, but you do so much good now not afraid to go against what unfortunately has become the norm.
Omg😢 So glad we all have someone like you here. Someone we can TRUST. I recently ordered your Ultimate CBD oil for my 11yr old German Shepherd. It is working amazingly well! The past week he sleeps peacefully w/o aches and pains. Not getting up and down all night long--which means I'm sleeping better now, too!🤗❤
So glad you spoke out about this ❤
Thank you for your service. It is heartless what pharma is doing to us and our loved animals. I am very grateful to you and all the efforts you are making to spread the word.
Thank you for your honesty. You truly are a blessing to share not only this truth but your priceless videos to help us & our beloved pets.
It is a regret that you have now rectified by what you are doing for people. Thank you & God Bless 🙏🏻
Thank god for an honest guy
Thanks for speaking the truth. You’re a good man and great vet. We, the salt of the earth, need to pay greater attention to voice our concerns. That’ll stop unethical events, procedures.
You are amazing Dr. Jones. Now this is the problem people have not stood up for all the atrocities that has been going on for a very long time and now we have a very sick and depraved generation. We need more vets like you. Love all your you tubes. Tula is adorable and very patient.
Thank you for your honesty and the love you have for our furkids.
Thank you for sharing and with such soul baring honesty. I have those moments in life, those regrets. I'm sure most of us do. One thing they accomplished for me - they built me a wall to stand on and to speak up on. Look at you speaking up now, and helping so many!!! RIP to those little lab lives 💔 Thank you always Dr. Jones for your work and your words, some healing and rewarding, others difficult.
😱 I seriously had no idea they use to do that! So disturbing just like what you mentioned how factory animals are treated on all levels is so disgusting. I wish more people knew about that. Factory farming needs to change! Those Vets for the factory farms probably get paid more than a vet in the animal clinics. I can hear in your voice that moment in your life still affects you! You are definitely one of a kind in your field!
Thank you for sharing. That was painful to hear. Don't kick yourself for not speaking up. You're doing it now.
Thank you Andrew for honestly sharing your experience and feelings.
This is why I follow you,
I can see the love of animals u have
Oh my goodness. That would have haunted me for life, knowing the healthy animals died afterwards!!! When I was in college, (not for vet medicine, but substance abuse counseling) I made a comment when asked my thoughts and the instructor made sure I paid for it dearly. So its lucky you said nothing., in my opinion. I never finished my program, but transfered my credits to apply for my B.A. in Psychology at another school.
Myself, I love animals more than people. Hence my videos on YT rescuing,
animals, caring for them and even volunteering for the trap/neuter cat colonies.
I had to make the hardest decision of my fur mom life yesterday to put my rescue Akita Rocko to rest. I've have had Rocko since 2010 who was around 1-2 years at the time.
I'm a full believer of alternative medinine. Rocko had accupuncture and herbal suppliments which kept him around much longer with me.❤
Natural remedies are the way to go!
Thank you so much for your videos Doc! They are much appreciated! Best wishes..❤
You’ve helped us SO MUCH treating our little Chihuahua with collapsed trachea. Thank you so much!! 🙏 🎉❤
I'm not shocked by that it explains why vets are so emotionally detached when treating animals. During stupid COVID rules we had to have our beloved dog put down and the Vet enforced a rule stating only one of us could be with our dog during this procedure. I left my wife with our baby whilst I went and sat in the car and I cried my eyes out because both my wife and I are retired and we spend all of our time with our dogs. I will never forgive them for that and it made me change my mind with vets as they have no heart every animal is a commodity with earning potential from treatments, tests and they are completely emotionally detached.
Sorry you had to go through that
@@lpeyt9ml24.7 thanks it was terrible 😔
And that's why I watch the absolute honesty and humanity
Thank you thank you❤
I’m so sorry you had to go through these painful experiences. It’s very hard to forgive these actions, these teachers were clearly not consciously aware of what they were doing. Blessings to you and what you went through to earn your degree. It’s people like you who will make the difference to humanity. ❤️🎶🤗🎶🇨🇦
Don’t be too hard on yourself, you were much younger then. We all have regrets about things we should have stood up for back then, but we were probably intimidated. It’s sad how both animals and humans were treated. I often think about little children who were institutionalized for having deformities or Down’s syndrome. 😩
That’s a brave thing to admit. It still clearly hurts you. It was probably so shocking that it paralyzed you and other students - and it was a time where students weren’t supposed to question their “respected” professors. You can’t be faulted for that. However, you’ve fortunately more than made up for those dogs’ sacrifice by honoring them through your subsequent work in the next 30 years. There was clearly no clinical value for their death, but you honored the lives lost in the manner that you’ve treated all the patients and their human families ever since. That should count for something.
We were ALL young, and dumb. Not speaking up, in any number of circumstances, make up the bulk of my regrets. Speaking up with honesty, is the best path to finding objective truth, anywhere, so thank you for speaking up, now. Better late than never, right?
You are highly courageous, Doctor Jones, and the great work you now undertake and the truth you speak, is commendable.
I honestly believe that many veterinary students will view your video and be inspired to speak out, should they be faced with similar, extremely confronting situations.
I have heard of similar people's experiences and those involved the use of mice in the lab. Students from non CORE subjects were the witnesses; and this was only in recent years!
Thank you for being there and speaking out for the helpless, voiceless creatures at the disposal of mankind; and for educating countless people, globally.
It breaks my heart how some humans treat animals and exploit them for profit. So much cruelty out there. Hearing this made me tear up. So sad.
Hope other good vets learn from you! Thanks for your passion for this profession! God bless you!🐕😻
you are remarkable...I am a huge fan...and you have GIANT BALLS, Please keep doing what your doing..Please keep Doing You.
We need people of your ilk in Every profession.
I always wanted to become a vet, but all it took was working at a vets office when I was in high school, and I saw how this vet treated the animals and would unnecessarily put healthy young dogs to sleep, this was over 40 years ago and I still see theses innocent dogs in my mind to this day. I wish I had the mouth I have now back then !!! I would be the loudest voice in that office for the sweet animals!!! Thank you for everything you do for the Angels. All of us together need to speak up for what evil does!!!!!!!!
Many sociopaths gravitate towards medicine, judicial, law enforcement, public schools, finance, politics, and the military.
...they also tend to move up the ladder quickly due to their tactics of feigned obsequiousness and stepping on the backs of others to get into top positions....they absolutely RUIN good people who went into those practices to heal others...it is time for those posers to be shown the exit....
Thank you for this video and your compassion. Several years ago (4), I attended a research forum in San Diego. One of the faculty docs gave a presentation that essentially said that the use of animals in research never translates to humans...and he emphasized never. When you work at a university in research, you can ask questions and get straight-up answers because they are your friends and colleagues. My response is usually, "Oh really? How do you feel about that?"
