So Nigel did made you a shout out! Congrats on breaking the 1k subs mark Paul!!! I know that I've said that again, but I will say it once more, you definitely deserve it. Nice job done on this episode! If you ask me (#not an aircraft builder) i would paint as i finish each sub assembly. Thanks for sharing, take care and keep up the good work my friend.
Great video my friend the hurricane is looking impressive very detailed cockpit lots of clean up but well worth it really enjoying following your builds thanks for sharing 👍👍
Hello, enjoying the build. I have never been a fan of the shake the box and a model pops out. All the fun is work we put in and the mistakes we have to fix. Keep on trucking’ on. Love watching the build while I sit at the bench.
Revell is as Revell does, you definitely get what you pay for dodgey engineering and soft moldings at no extra cost lol. Comments wonky for me 2. Anyhoo Lookat you Paul 2 Video builds on the go at the same time!
Thanks Jason appreciated, think it must be a UA-cam thing with the comments, have a good one. Alot to learn got to get these videos into playlist think it would be easier for the viewers
Pre ordered this and like yourself quite excited about it. Immediately lost all enthusiasm for it when I saw the lack of engine or gun bays. A kit this scale you would expect the extra exposable details such as a merlin to be included. I’ll build it but won’t enjoy it as much as the airfix 1/48.
I wasn't sure whether to post this or not. UA-cam says there are 5 comments, but I can't see them, so I don't know if someone else pointed it out to you or not. On the first part of the frame that has the hand wheel on it there are 3 of those nubs that need to be cut off attached to the wheel. Those points where the frames connect are another reason I don't care for Revell products. It always seems no matter how much you try, you can never get a decent looking joint. Have a good one Paul.
Thanks Randy, I got the comments there are 5 but they always sort of hide my replys, thanks for pointing out the nibs ye I found more of them ,it's just full of it ,and you can miss them ,Have a good one
Hi Paul. The little tabs everywhere are ejector pin tabs.. The lesser of two evils. We have them to trim off or ejector pin marks everywhere to fill or sand. The reason they are there is because of all the fine "tubing" which would otherwise break or distort when the sprue pops out of the tool. Large sprue gates are there to help ensure no short shots, it makes it easier to fill the tiny mould cavities to make all the little tubes. If Tamiya made it, it would be ten times better and 4 times the price?? The soft moulding is pretty poor in this day and age, but I expect Revell have been penny pinching on the tooling costs.
Be watching this with internet mate ….love the hurricane, did the revell 1/32 spitfire a couple of years ago this would sit nicely on the shelf beside it , but been told by my Jue I’m on a buying ban until I’ve built the kits I bought at Telford 😮 one done only 3 to go 🤣🤣. I’m sure you’ll work your magic on it Paul 👍and it’ll look amazing as always 👌 Answer to your question mate ,on aircraft I normally build and paint in sub sections, I find it easier to do the detail painting that way.
Thanks Richie, sadly the spit has gone forever, But I have the newer one to do, On the kit buying said I wouldn't buy any for a while, What happened found a bargain on ebay 1/35 MAS boat I must stop buying.
Certainly not a shake and bake job but agree with the points Nigel made and I would rather do some clean up rather than have short shots and sink marks on such delicate parts. I know from watching your other videos that you have the necessary modelling skills so press on and it will look great when finished.
Paul, in an unrelated issue, the distance between the camera and the parts you were working on today was really, really good - sharp focus on the parts you were manipulating almost all of the time.
Just listening and watching the video now, it looks to be a lot of work with them oversized spru gates and ejector pin nubs, sink marks and ejector pin marks. Top marks to Revell again 👏👏 It is the same issue with the 1/32 Tempest with the addition of flash everywhere. Also their 1/48 SBD Dauntless , hence why I’ve not started these kits yet. Started the 1/32 P51D-15 NA late version, it’s just as bad, but also very soft surface detail all over. Not to mention twisted wings .
Good luck with it Harry, I got the spit to do haven't had a look yet ,but it's probably the same, thinking of getting the tempest do like the look of the Plane,
Thanks Bob, Yes the first view of it did look better, definitely needs a bit of work, but at the price you can't really moan ,happy modelling stay safe
Paul, I'm not sure, but, in Step 5, it appears that there are two injection tabs still attached to a round object, just below Part 13. The image in the instructions seems to show that round part without those injection tabs.

Revell kits do need a lot of extra work I do agree.
I do like building Revell kits I think it's the challenge Michael

Hey ,we have dueling videos . Paul’s Hurricane and Nigel’s Spitfire not to mention John Alex’s Spitfire. 😂
😆 🤣 😂 Michael
It’s a shame Paul. It looks a lot more work than it should be with sprue nubs and sink marks etc. hopefully the end result will pay off. Cheers Bob 👍

Thanks Tron your rigth I spotted them when I was painting, appreciate the comments you make, helpful stay safe happy holidays.
The Revell kit looks dodgy ! and the plastic looks brittle also. Anyhow good start.
Thanks Jeffrey, it's dodgy lol ,stay safe appreciate your comments
I would paint the cage now and as you say most of your work will be out of view.
On the box it says there's 118 parts but I noticed part 170 in the instructions any idea why
There are 218 parts on my box
Mark IIb maybe, as in number 2?
