Hi Paul, the Spitfire looks absolutely outstanding, I do like the grey/green scheme, congratulations on another outstanding build, best regards from a Kiwi living in Australia, Les
Dear Mr Plastic, I think that has turned out very nicely. It’s hard to produce the effects necessary to create the illusion of use. The thing I like about oils however is that one can use odourless thinners to tone it all down if there’s too much of an effect. I found this out with a 1/48 Spitfire a ways back and never forgot it! The final effect of the metal finish on the walkways is excellent by the way. I think you have captured that exceedingly well!! The pictures were good- in particular the one with the two officers and the pilot on the fore starboard quarter. The lighting is super- subtle and giving the appearance of day. Kind regards, Z
Although a bit heavy on the weathering, it came out quite nice in the end. I like the grey-green scheme, so I have ordered the same Revell kit as I only have a 1/48 Spit in my collection.
Paul, If you get another Revell kit, would you be able to do a version with the entry hatch open and the canopy slid back to better expose the cockpit interior (for whatever mods you were thinking of including)? In any case, a very nice job, and the black and white photos add a war-time realism to the diorama.
Thanks Tron. Did look at opening the canopy. But it didn't look as if it could be slid over the back part .But would differently work it out on the next one stay safe and have a great week 👍
Stunning job great painting enjoy your weekend 💪🍺💞👍🙏
