This is a cool new angle, hoping you can do more of these. This one is definitely with some hazards! You saved me the hassle of stepping foot in there, now I feel like I've seen it!
Glad you enjoyed this one, it's a cool spot and I'm posting a much longer video Sunday morning on a bunch more abandoned buildings I explored. I'd never really done that before and it was surprisingly fun! Cheers mate
Thanks for watching - it was a cool spot to check out and I'm posting a much longer video Sunday where I explore a bunch of other abandoned buildings. Cheers mate
Neat! I know exactly where this is and I've been really wanting to explore it and what's up the hill from it. Looks like you have, so I'm looking forward to that video. I do urban exploring as well. I explored a large mining town in the mountains several years ago, and a hospital and two schools last year. I'm gearing up to explore another hospital in the coming weeks.
Glad you enjoyed this one, and I'm looking forward to posting a longer video Sunday on the other buildings I explored. I'd actually never done something like that and it was a lot of fun. That's cool you got to see those places, a mining town in the mountains would be pretty neat. I'd like to find more large buildings in Alberta to explore, I've been inspired by other UA-cam videos. Cheers
@@strangenorth Urban exploring is something I've always had an interest in, but watching the Derelict Harvest channel inspired me to get out on the road and find some places to explore and document. I post albums on my Facebook page for my friends to see, and I always keep locations private. If urbex turns out to be something you enjoy doing also, I think it will be a great addition to your channel.
@@jarrettaustin1602 Derelict Harvest has great videos, I've watched a bunch of them - definitely an inspiration. I definitely want to find more abandoned places to explore and include that type of video on my channel. I've been thinking about how to do one where I go through Edmonton's LRT tunnels at night, but I want to find out more before I potentially attempt something like that. Cheers
Wow, I remember being in this building when the plant was being decommissioned and the pumps were still operating, albeit at minimal capacity. So strange to see it how it sits now.
Thanks for watching - it's a pretty cool spot. I'm also posting a much longer video Sunday morning showing an exploration of 4 abandoned industrial support buildings, you might enjoy that one as well. Cheers mate
I explored those buildings up top too and I'm posting a video of that on Sunday morning - it was really interesting, at almost 40 I had never done something like that and it was a blast going through that area. I'm surprised I didn't run into security or squatters. Cheers mate
Honestly I'm not sure what's going on down there. The pumps aren't operating and the building has no power, but there's some sort of water movement happening down below.
@@strangenorth I attempted to go check that area out this past spring on a day hike but was intercepted by two police officers underneath the train bridge. They must have been in that little hut that's by the bridges. I said I didn't know I wasn't allowed in there as I didn't see a no trespassing sign. They said..."that's why we're here". lol. So I turned around and went back the way I came. Thankfully, no ticket was handed out.
I have to admit it was pretty creepy in the day too - I'm posting a longer video Sunday where I explore a bunch of abandoned buildings on an old industrial site/water treatment plant that you'll probably enjoy if you enjoy abandoned exploration videos. Cheers
Cool video, I watched it with girls, they were worried about your safety, we watched the abandoned industrial building as well, do you know what that building was originally used for? The girls were impressed by your steady hand. Cuz Jordan
Thanks for watching - there are definitely some risks in this area! I actually use a gimbal stabilizer with my camera so that really helps to get steady shots. Those abandoned industrial buildings were once the old Celanese plant, I believe it was in operation from the late 50s to the early 2000s. I read that the plant used to produce cigarette filters, industrial chemicals and methanol. I think some of the buildings used to be part of an old water treatment facility too. It was a lot of fun to explore, I love abandoned spaces like this. Cheers
It's a cool spot, pretty crazy how far those pits go down inside. I wish I would have brought a flashlight so I could have had shown clearer footage. Cheers
I remember one time I was going down by the river valley and someone mentioned that there was scrapped plans for some sort of artificial hot spring thing there, apparently they decided to put some sort of museum there but god knows when that’d be
I was just in Edmonton this past weekend. Missed out on the 10km ice cream marathon . I noticed the train tunnels by the river , is there any way to go inside or is it too dangerous?
Thanks for watching - you know what I'm not sure but that's a good question. I've been thinking of doing an exploration video of the LRT tunnels but I want to find out more before I attempt that. Seems like it would be a cool video though. Cheers mate

I love your use of panning shots in this video. I thought the shot of the second floor looked really interesting and kind of abstract. Thank you!

Some of those are active and cross the river. Maybe not a pump house but they do have tunnels like that, that go across. Super cool. Keep them coming.

We all float down here 2:30
Sounds gnarly!
I’ve looked across the river at this place a few times wondering if it’s accessible! Hmmm possible road trip! Great video thanks for sharing!

The LRTs are always broke down so no worries my man👍
Where about in the city is this?
north of the yellowhead where it crosses the river
those homeless guys still camped by there? they were burning cable last time i was down there.
