Wow, that's a lot of info and history covered in a short amount of time! I worked as a Toronto paramedic for 15 years from 1999-2014, mostly out of 12 Station on Albion near Kipling and Finch, 15 Station at Jane and Driftwood south of Finch, and 10 Station at Lawrence and Weston Road. I responded to a lot of gang-related shootings, but definitely dealt with the most when I was working out of 15 Station.

@@strangenorth So many people aren't born bad but due to a combo of factors, among them discrimination against non-whites including in Ontario's education system, gun violence has become a serious problem. Non-whites almost certainly are in Ontario overrepresented among high-school dropouts while so many shootings have involved under-18s.

Learning about bloods and crips being a thing in Canadian cities caught me off tbf. Especially when I moved here. What's wilder was reading police reports from Ottawa PD talking about Juggalos being a notable gang presence.

@@Treeflat a lot of people don't vote for it though - it's just one of those things that "just is" it's like this in multiple cities - special interest groups ruling the way things will go.
Normal citizens often have no say, voting is an illusion. It will always go the way of those with the most power, influence, and money behind the scenes.
People with a certain level of how to utilize their intelligence in controlling others will always find ways to take control. Even the uploader of this video has a level of intelligence most people don't have, that's why you don't see more videos like this - I bet a lot of these gangs aren't even aware of each other to the level this guy researched most just do as they're told.
The smart and the powerful rule, not what people vote for, voting is one of the biggest illusions / lies there is, the repeated "you got what you voted for" line is one of THE laziest explanations/understandings of how things actually are that there is. - You cannot vote your way out of a tyranny, the tyrannical people will just be underhanded toward honest people - that's the separation between them - to believe your vote matters to such people is the definition of insanity.

I appreciate the feedback - Was that prior to the up top and down bottom split and the prevalence of the Driftwood crips? I'm not an expert in the subject, the way I understood it was that there were crip sets up top and down bottom, and then the down bottom sets began identifying as bloods partly due to conflicts with Rexdale which heightened tensions in the area. And of course the Driftwood crips have emerged as a major group in that region. I didn't really research what happened in the area prior to that, there was so much material there I was trying to just give a broad general overview of the major groups.

Originally all the hoods in Jane and Finch were bloods and the hoods in Rexdale were crips. It was basically Jane and Finch vs Rexdale. You can literally still watch videos of C4 (Connectionz) and KG (Driftwood) making videos together. It wasn't until Jane and Finch split that northside claimed crips and Uptop/Downbottom came into play.

You could get away with a bit of mayhem, but you knew what would happen if you went too far.
