I just put my hand on my right eye, still heared it but that worked too
@@somethingapproaches64 yeah same
Woah thanks to you I didint get jumpscared
I CAN'T BELIEVE I GOT JUMSCARED WITH SUICIDE MOUSE IM DONE
We do a little trolling
@@TheCursedJudge lmao
Thanks for the warning.
@@TheCursedJudge a little nefarious activity
@@TheCursedJudge Keep it up and you'll learn about roadhauling.
We actually know a lot of backstory to the "I Feel Fantastic" video
That is Tara the Singing Android, who was built by John Bergeron. Dude retired from IBM and basically just made a hobby out of building this android and making it perform music he wrote. Obviously you can tell that he wasn't very musically inclined which is why it sounds so weird and off kilter, but certainly was one hell of a tech head considering that he just casually built that android as a retirement hobby.
He recorded and sold the footage of the android he built singing in 2004. Several years down the line someone takes that one song off the DVD to make a UA-cam video and give a creepy description. The rest is history.
John Bergeron wouldn't be around to see his android gain popularity though, as he died in 2005.
was hoping someone would bring this up in the comments. a pretty unfortunate and glaring oversight imo. its not that hard to find the origin of the video
@@smiley19092 Yup, in fact to fact check myself as I wrote my comment to get all my information together
It just took one quick google search, and using an article as reference.
@@bubbadoo10 maybe this wasn't found at the time the video was made? it is 2 years old
@@FranknKitty Nope, this information has existed for a long while. Fact checked myself with some google searching, this information has existed since at least 11 years ago as I found a reddit thread talking about it that was that old that covered the android and creator.
There was also an article from 2019 that did a deep dive on looking into that guy. There might be thorough resources that existed before then, but this is just what I could find via some real quick research into the topic.
@@FranknKitty "The Story of Tara the Android" literally scrolls by in the background while CJ is talking about it. I don't think it particularly MATTERS whether or not we know the backstory (and also the inaccuracy adds to the theme imo), but it was definitely a factual error.
I've always been fascinated with horror and loved watching horror movies from a very early age but they never really scared me because I always knew that there was a production team behind it.
Instead it's in the darker corners of the internet where I truly found the stuff that stuck with me in the back of my mind and I actually learned to be a bit more cautious while clicking on stuff because I realized that I'm not as untraumatizable as I thought.
Omg marry me dude!😂 I'm a girl btw.
Amateur
Petscop was such a good horror internet series. But I can't stomach it when Matpat told me about the girl that died in her own vomit.
same, that traumatized me for days
I hate "I feel fantastic" its weird, creepy and very disturbing, as soon as I saw the mannequin I immidiately close eyes and press the fast forward button a bunch until I only hear the scream from murder mouse and then got jumpscared by that face, ffs.
That suicide mouse thing is exactly why I don't watch anything that might be horror past 9.
This is why I have trust issues
10:30 oh god, I don't think i'm ready to see the pinnacle of internet horror.
Dude I found ur account like two days ago and I’m actually fuckin obsessed w ur videos it’s crazy how well written and edited ur stuff is as well as that you don’t have an annoying voice. 10/10 would definitely make you Mac n cheese
thank you

So glad to see House of Leaves here, I have the book and it's so damn confusing to read. Actively hostile is the perfect description.
Me: “Wow, this scene is really tense! I can’t wait to see what happens ne-“
Johnny Truant and his five page footnote about how he had sex last night:
@chumbucket3475 I fucking love this book, but god Johnny Truant pissed me off a ton. Like I get, that's the point, but his side of the story felt a little underdeveloped.
@@chumbucket3475 Ah yes, the compelling Navidson Record interrupted by a stoner describing his own cum
That "realistic" aproach to horror is actually pretty Lovecraftian. Yeah, he wrote about outworldish creatures, but he managed to do it the way it can feel real, like this can happen behind the door of that house across the street. He mixed mystic and mythological stuff with the science and sometimes even givave the exact coordinates where something wierd happpend.
Internet is just a new instrument to amplify this feeling.
Sorry for my English.
Been here since the cursed images reddit and the vids just keep getting better
I can’t believe I was gotten by the damn rat. I think that’s what makes jumpscares more effective: the factor of being unexpected. Too much “jumpscare horror” nowadays isn’t as scary as other stuff, because, more often than not, you know what’s coming.
Can you hurry up and get famous i just caught up. You deserve so much more for your hard work its clear how much effort and care goes into your videos. 5/7
I'm definitely working on it James, I've gotten 6k subs in the last 3 days so it's a definite start. Once I hit 100k I'll tell you!
Literally came here to comment this.. stumbled across this channel and its gold. Has massive potential
Hey James, I hit 100k now!
@@TheCursedJudge The legend responded
@@TheCursedJudge Did you just double your subscriber count in a month??
The rise of analogue horror instantly always made me think of those old videos such as suicide mouse or squidwards suicide.
I feel fantastic, the one with the chick and the fire in the background, there was this channel of this dude who played this creepy character with like a woman mask on with a speed up voice.
Shit gives me chills, internet horror is literally scariest form of horror there is
Why your channel so small with this quality content and also memes, at the same time. You deserve to grow a lot more.
thank you

The scariest video game I've ever played is called D. It was released on the PS1. Typical PS1 graphics. But it's so eerie. Nobody is really around, the music is haunting, and to top it off, there's a 3 hour time limit so you have that pressure in the back of your mind. The PS1 graphics work so well since anything you're looking at doesn't quite look right.
It's not a good game, but I find it terrifying.
Also, the UA-cam channel Local58 is haunting too. But that's not that obscure. Maybe you comment on that later in the video, I'm only half way through
Your video was amazing. The ending paraphrasing getting over it was poetic. Godspeed.
I enjoy internet horrors honestly I've gone through murder cases, scary videos, scary stories and scary stories animated it's the best it gets me through quarantine honestly I'm very bored
Ed Sanchez, the guy who made Blair Witch is hecka chill- well he's one of two who made it with a little team ofc. But yeah, chill guy, huge Star Wars fan.
Internet horror is so unique
Although I love the melancholic horror of Silent Hill 2 the most. It haunts in a way that almost nothing else ever has, an almost nurturing feeling.
Hearing the sounds of subnautica like the crab squid in the background of the marble hornets section made me very happy. I'd recognize those sounds anywhere.
Absolutely loooooved Marble Hornets, a wonderful series :)
@thetreewatch Agreeeed
Another poggers video!
Got it
Oh god I'm soooooo agree with every statement made in this video. It's gorgeous, also because of its length. It's short but super informative. I dedicated all my life to the horror genre. Not sure if we're done with mass culture horror movies but there's no doubt that future is after ARGs and analogue horror. And the core of its undoubtful dominance is that feeling of uncertainty and/or complete lack of knowledge about the origins of the source of fear. That's why for example Junji Ito is famous for with his manga. The lack of explanation or its complete absence IS an actual source of fear. And it's beautiful.
2:36 There is at least one Sci fi short story that has format screw that might be older than house of leaves, but I need to find it again to check.
why does this only have 3k views, it's literally top tier yt content
Great vids bro subbed
This channel is Criminally underrated
Nice writing. Very insteresting point of view.
bro i smashed my phono onto the table becuase of that jumpscare at 7:58 and the displays broken now
Thank you for the timestamp
Ive never heard of that book before and now i really want a copy
I've never really been a fan of jumpscare horror. especially nowadays it just kinda becomes cheap and boring in a way. yeah sure you get a jump, but I don't think that's what makes great horror. like you said, tension is one thing, but the weird and creepy to me is what makes great horror. things like lovecraftian horror, some of the SCPs from the SCP universe, The Backrooms, Slenderman. things that seem to have a connection to reality, yet are sometimes completely removed from it.
honestly I used to hate horror, but finding things like scp universe(prob my introduction that got me into it) made me realise that it was something amazing
@@d4s0n282 see, I feel the opposite almost.
I used to find SCP fascinating, I thought it was the next best thing when it came to new horror.
Then it seemed to explode in popularity and the quality has just plummeted. Now everyone and their mother has an addition to SCP and the whole thing is just stupid now. Just nonsensical, and that's saying a lot.
@@matthiasthulman4058 honestly, I feel like quality of stories increases overall but, it's generally way less about the horror feeling, although there is still some really good newer horror ones, although my favorite ones and the ones are the best horror ones are day breaks and the end of death
@@d4s0n282 I feel like the quantity has gone up but the quality has remained the same or lower.
There are definitely some great new horror pieces out there, but there are more generic garbage than it's worth combing through. For me at least.
This happens whenever a property or genre was in the background with a small or niche following. Once it gets popular, things start to change until it's barely recognizable.
See Warhammer for examples. It's not unrecognizable yet, but I feel if it keeps getting the attention of normies, it will be soon.
@@matthiasthulman4058 I don't agree, IMO things should change and Also quality is going up
Giving love for the arg/unfiction community, yeah!
Damn that Jumpscare got me!
apologies!

GUYS, WHAT IS THE TIMESTAMP FOR THE SPOOKY JUMPSCARES???
The Suicide Mouse jumpscare is 7:58, according to luvyu.
I also came in here for jumpscare timestamps before watching the video haha 😂
The I feel fantastic video gives me nightmares every time I remember it and I don’t know why
my brother showed me the "i feel fantastic" video when i was like 8 and im still traumatised, i CANT watch the video

Well, one of my dogs was definitely tripped out by that Mickey mouse shit.
It has been exactly 2 years now.
fuck the jumpscare at the end of the suicidal mouse got me
How dose this only have 1k veiws?
I believe that horror* in general is more or less the same, people are just very desensibilized nowadays
Believe or not there was a time people got legitimately shocked by seeing Dracula in the threatre
* = when it's not a social commentary pretending to be a movie
what petscop is to horror on the internet is murder crow to args
7:59 I haven’t been jumpscared in so long thank you
Good video
I wasn't expecting to see Ina in your videos
Homedawg really just left me uneasy with that ending...
Junpscare didn’t get me but it was unsettling
I'm going to get jumpscared aren't I?
Is it called analog horror? but this kind of horror that makes us be a part of it is pretty good
This is a good video to eat cereal to
Might be a little late (you know, a year late), but what's the song that starts at 7:04?
I would recommend nana985 I think it was called, a youtube channel with a very creepy video on finding his mother's house after the tsunami in japan
u got any info? cant seem to find it
9:42 FOUR FROM BFB FOUR FROM BFB FOUR FROM BFB FOUR FROM BFB
noice vid fellow matpat enjoyer
the scariest part of suicide mouse is the fact im wearing mickey mouse pants rn
Ngl I think Analogue Horror is better and more scarier than the horror we get now because you actually could see the perspective of the person who gets killed or the protagonists are world ending like Mandela Catalogue
This is a pretty good video essay, but it does seem to be biased towards considering recent stuff as innovative. I mean, just for one example, you say TV and movies have always been about understanding what they're saying when internet media isn't, but there have been movies where meaning and intention was meant to be read in by the audience rather than demonstrated by the director ever since 1929's _Un Chien Andalou._ You're just describing surrealism and dadaism there. :P
the boy jumped me
I will never forget the horror and existential crisis I had as a kid when watching nasajim108's videos
I got jumpscared so bad 😂😂
so this was all just a plot to ask pyro to make petscop 3 once again
