Hello! I tried to find a way to both censor the gore-ish parts of the video (youtube's interpretation of gore) while still making it look fun and interesting. Tell me what you think!
At first I just thought you were applying the overlay for an aesthetic purpose. I only realized about a 3rd of the way through the video that you were doing it to censor the gore. Great choice. Unobtrusive but still shows people what they want to see ;) P.S. Thanks for being one of the essay youtubers that actually does real analysis instead of just making surface-level observations. Given the quality of your content, I'd imagine that you'd have much more attention from youtube. Hopefully you'll get it!
I found you through your "games you can never play again" video. You make quite fascinating video essays with plenty of effort put in. Seeing as I put a lot of videos in the background to listen to as I work, you earned a definite sub from me

4:50 - 4:51 I accept your awesomely hidden note apology to correct on the nature of X-Ray attacks and also they being introduced way back in Mortal Kombat 9.
God, that game did so many cool things. It manages to feel like both a product of its time and like they made a lot of innovations at the same time. The graphics will always stick out to me, and the medical animation style of the X-ray bodies. It made me wonder what the next game was gonna be like

I found your channel through the "out of bounds" video. The out of bounds has always been creepy to me and I thought you sumed up the video and idea of the video perfectly. I don't really play games much anymore for normal busy adult reasons but your channel reminded me of why I enjoyed them in the first place. I really want to get back into playing skating games now after watching this video.
There are actually quite a few types of X-ray games, or something similar, ranging from pornographic to projectile penetration games (war thunder, world of tanks, and such) It’s rare for an actual X-ray game to exist though
Actually, when I saw the title, I was actually thinking of a game called Discover My Body, a horror game that focuses on your character inspecting someone (including with x-rays) as they go through a horrific transformation.
4:21 the first mortal combat to have x-ray moves was actually mk9. The only reason I would even know is because its the first mortal combat I've played.

Really interesting to see someone experienced skate 3 so differently than i did. I personally was really in to the skating part of the game and always trying to hit new trick lines and crazy jumps. For me the hall of meat was fun but just a side thing. My younger self was of the opinion that hitting a crazy trick combination was way more rewarding than hittin your head it to a ledge with 200kmh. :)
Damn Sniper Elite V2 takes me back, we never actually bought the game but me and a friend would play the Demo for it on Ps3 Over And Over And Over Again just watching for the most brutal X-Rays.
With skate 3, it’s fun to both see how hard you can break bones, as well as break the game. Seeing the bones break in x-ray is fun, but breaking them so hard that the model glitches and stretches and just all around breaks is so so so damn funny and satisfying
I remember my friends and I spending hours in GTA 4 blowing Niko up with a rocket launcher and watching him ragdoll in slowmo as the death screen comes on
I can't believe PAIN wasn't mentioned in this video, the whole concept is launching a ragdoll out of a cannon and seeing how badly you can hurt them and the environment.
enjoyed Burnout 3's destruction mode, especially since no gore was involved, just car crashing, fires, and explosions on pre-planned courses feel like for the desire to see bodily destruction/repair, there needs to be a game that simulates ER doctor & nurse job experience, where you find out what happened to the patient through questioning and physical clues, see a playback of how they got injured, and then work (solo or small co-op, up to 8 players) towards healing those injuries and illnesses. even have a 3D, x-ray-esque anatomy/physiology model mode, where you can see how the body works at multiple levels (organ, tissue, cellular, hormonal, etc.). expensive due to having to draw from multiple fields of medical knowledge and simulate them, but probably good edutainment if done well
Love the way you talk, very pleasant to listen to, though I personally really dislike games involving X-Ray, it´s just too violent for me, disturbs me.
