Love how you got all the units swinging in, and some were breaking off a few blocks up to go around. What I really liked is how you then focused on the scene, getting them drawing the hoses and such.
FB1 Response Videos Yeah it is. It's just one of those things. Better than not having no rescue on scene at all! I love it when they lay the line from a moving vehicle, like you got in that other structure fire response in 66's first due a few months back. Yes you got on the LAFD Instagram, whooop whooop you!
yes! i love watching lines being laid, one of my favorite parts being on scene of a structure. and also, i’m so grateful that my shots caught LAFD’s attention haha.
Once our medic unit got on scene of a fully involved structure. All rigs were on the other side of town training. My partner and I basically stood there for at least five minutes while the neighbors stared at us. Not easy trying to look busy
Yesss ! Turn those rigs guys !!! I got a talking to by a senior firefighter the other day about my driving to a call earlier in the day. We were dispatched to a 2-vehicle MVA, injuries/entrapment/fluids/airbags deployed unknown...I took a hard left off the main drag onto a side street. Access to water road. I take a hard right, slowing right down, but not to a stop. He didn't like that, or loved it and realized he didn't have the balls to copy me. So he says "you couldn't have seen a car coming thru the trees on your left" to which I told him he's right, but I looked before my view got blocked, and we were good, and I hope he enjoyed me being his tour guide !!! lol
They operate with such precision and get shit handled man best in the world! I'd love to transfer to LAFD someday man. Absolutely amazing footage brotha! Watched it like 4 times lol

@@Conrailfan2596 a lot of departments will offer “lateral” hiring periodically... that is basically they are hiring people that are already trained and working likely with another department. I have this paused at 4:42 and I'm looking at the pump panel. Those three discharges low and on the left seem a strange configuration. Does LA set up their rigs like this for the ease of running wildland lines? It seems like it might be helpful for that.
0:03 why did they block the road? Maybe he was confused or was gazing at the fire because he did end up moving by the time firetrucks came so I doubt that he did on purpose

Wow, these guys are awesome!! Many departments can learn from them, i see other fire structure videos and im surprise how other dept are wearing jeans, no packs, walking around, etc, LA firefighters ready to roll and attack within seconds. Great job to all LA county and city fire.
It’s because this area is extremely dry, allowing any fire to grow at all can lead to catastrophe in a residential area. The structures ignite and spread way to fast to take chances, an entire block can become fully involved in minutes and that has happened more often than people realize. It’s a response for several homes, never just one.
LAFD must go through hundreds of saw blades. Seems like every video I see there are bars on every door and window. Business or residential. Here in Houston, we have plenty, but not like LA. I spent weeks in the hospital with burns and I don’t want ANYTHING in my way if I need to get out. Nothing I own is worth that much.
It is really crazy how almost every place in LA has bars on the doors and windows I guess they have a extremely high burglary rate and that is the only way they are able to protect their house or business. And the bars must be the biggest reason why cost of living is so high there because it takes firefighters so long to get to people during a fire.
The window bars in my bedrooms all have a release pin with a nice big D-ring. Pull the pin and the bars swing away on a hinge. You can have them out of the way in seconds.
Joseph Astier I assume you test them frequently to make sure they are not corroded or rusted. Seconds are the difference in life and death in a fire. You must have some really valuable stuff in your house. And alarm system and/or a big dog are better at preventing burglaries. Like I said. I spent 30 days in the hospital with burns and months more healing. That was over 50 years ago and I still have visible scars. Apparently lots of people feel safer for some reason with insanely ugly bars on their windows and doors. I think convicted criminals should be behind bars, not homeowners. I was recently in the market for a new house. If it had bars, it was a deal breaker. Nothing else mattered after that. If the neighbors are that bad, I don’t want to live there.
Every few years someone like a bank appraiser or a new building inspector will notice that the bedroom windows are barred, and want to see a test of the release. They always like it. The bars came with the house, I just left them installed. This thread got me thinking about them, so I just tested them. They work perfectly.
I found this situation when I watched a lot of related videos. United States / Western countries: There is no water tank in the fire truck, it takes long time to assemble the hose on the spot. But the water pressure is very strong and the fire can be controlled very quickly when complete assembly. Asia (example: Malaysia / Singapore / Japan): Almost all firetrucks have water tanks inside, which can extinguish the fire directly while installing/find the hose. But using a small water pipe, if the fire become too strong, need takes a long time and more water pipes to control the fire.
You fail to realize that we here out west have a different, very effective method of fighting fire. Our fire engines carry a 500 gallon water tank, with almost a mile of supply line and hand lines to fight fire. When a structure fire is announced, a ladder truck and a fire engine are always dispatched together, called a "light force". Another fire engine from the same fire station dispatched on the same call is called a TASK FORCE. The reason why a ladder truck and a fire engine are separate and have different duties is because it saves wear and tear on the equipment and it last longer. A ladder truck company and an engine company has different functions and tasks at a fire, but they work together toward a common goal, which is to extinguish fire, preserve life and property. The firefighters on that aerial ladder truck perform roof ventilation techniques, shut off utilities, to pave the way for the engine company to perform an interior attack. Our fire dept here in L.A. trains for speed of deployment, efficiency, etc. Our firefighters are trained for quick deployment, they're on the scene of the incident within the first 5 minutes the call is made to 9-1-1.
Thud neighborhood brings the threat of being shot so Kevlar beats bibs, and every window is barred so cutting torches are more important than fire hoses.
One can only love the US approach: if you have them, use them. The fire trucks are almost as high as the house on fire, but let’s add a turntable ladder to the intervention because ‘procedure’. Seriously: respect for the LAFD. The whole video shows professionalism and concentration.
Maybe you’ve done this before and the vid is out there. I’d like to see how they drain and fold/roll their hoses up after their done. Also, how in the hell do they keep track of whose hose is who’s. Obviously, if it’s hooked up to their truck its theirs, but on those big jobs, 3, 4, 5 alarm fires the hoses are laid out for miles and like 5 to 10 hoses deep in layers. I suppose it’s simple after you’ve done for years, but it looks complicated to me. I’d also just like to give a shout out to all first responders for saving our lives and property while risking theirs. Excellent cam work. Great post.
every single piece of equipment has the units callsign on it (i.e.; Truck 66’s blower would have a “T-66” sticker or paint) so that nothing should get lost or mixed up. and if it does, it’s easy to return to the correct company. as for the hose, they lay it out across the street, bleed it out, and roll it up. once they’re back in quarters, they clean it, hang it to dry, and grab fresh hose. hope that helps, thanks for watching.
Maybe all of us experienced firefighters have it all wrong. Will all those that think this was a poor job knocking down a possible arson please educate us on exactly what and how it could be done better. Given the fact that anything can be improved and the better one is the less improvement is needed. We can't tell from the video what every fireman's assignments are, backup, rescue, etc. Incident Command awaits input.
Wow this is the first video I've seen that someone shows the tillers in action and not just pulling out of the Bay en-route to a call or returning to station. I wish my city had Tillers because I love those types of rigs 😍👍😁
Great Work, don't see water on a fire that fast in America. We do in Australia and it works and this video proves that point, water puts out normal fires.
@@FB1ResponseVideos it also depends on other drivers. These drivers were understanding and good people and about 90% are but 10% just think they own the road
Firefighters really don’t care about how close you get. So long as you don’t interfere with what they are doing. PD will ask you to move sometimes but only if you look like you in the way. Buffs are practically first responders in LA. They are accepted as scene personnel. Plus we love looking at the videos afterwards.
That was some well-shot arriving footage my man! Trucks pulling in left and right, that firefighter hooking up to a hydrant, you were right in the action and the visuals looked great. Awesome work!
That pickhead axe is a necessity for L.A. City and L.A. County Fire in case they're assigned to ventilate the roof, breach walls, or knock the hinges off doors.
Mike 0355 yes right next to Burger palace. I started as an explorer there. Only for six months before the moved to Across from the Woodsy recycling center. Ole days for sure.
I"m sorry, but the old Simon Duplex looks way better than the new Pierce. That old Simon unit may be old, but she's capable, and I see a lot of stations using the Simon as a backup before the LaFrance!
This was quite refreshing to see compared to a lot of videos I’ve been seeing lately where everyone is taking their time. I watched one the other night where the neighboring house caught fire in the 5 minutes it took for the truck on scene to finally get the first 1 ¾” going. I’ll take this “too many” and quick response any day over what seems to have become the norm with a lot of departments!
People are just like that. They do not understand a spotter, they think we are sansation seekers, but we capture the images because we like to see the emergency services at work. To support them
Great catch! Thanks for the upload. Quick question... And it shows my ignorance... I don't watch a ton of videos with LAFD, but it seems like in the ones I do, they *only* run tillers. Am I imagining this?
And almost all their tillers are paired with an accompanying pumper as a Light Force (6 man crew for the two apparatus running as a single company...gives one company full sized tiller Ladder and full sized pumper that can deal with any type of call vs a Quint which sacrafices ladder length or pump capacity, hose amount, etc). Pumper is always a 200 series i.e. Engine 57 is independent company, Truck 57 and Engine 257 are Light Force 57, Light Force+Engine is Task Force 57. A bit confusing at first, but not too bad once you get it lol
Its too bad no one left baking soda and vinegar in a back pack next to the lawn mower gas refill can like I accidently did. It stopped my whole house from burning down lol. A really good book was in there to.
Man the was an awesome catch. And yoi really caught the action. Some people keep the camera on an Eng. For like two min of a five min video. Youlet us see who was there and went back to want we all really are looking for awesome job man awesome job. R66 is an new addition to FS66 do you k ow how long it has been there?
Lets just say that they have had it as long as uou have known. I began as an explorer with FS.66 was there for a year and went to County 16's. This was when the Paramedics wore those light blue jump suits, 1991.
Wow. Way too many people on the fireground compared to here in Australia. Quick to get on scene but slow to attack the fire. Great extinguishment and salvage. Nice job boys and girls
Damn man that’s what I call action!! You got a little close for comfort there in some parts (surprised they didn’t make you get back lol). Great work capturing responses, on scene and action! 🔥

I’ve said it before, and I say it again, in my opinion, the LAFD set the gold standard for fire professionals.❤️
Have you seen every fire department?
zuma
Great Work, don't see water on a fire that fast in America. We do in Australia and it works and this video proves that point, water puts out normal fires.
How do you get there so quick and fast? Also you seemed to get very close to the action without getting in trouble.
i got lucky on this one as it was only blocks from my house. but usually good driving and navigation will do the trick, thanks for watching!

Nice job done.

LAFD , one of the best !!!
That was some well-shot arriving footage my man! Trucks pulling in left and right, that firefighter hooking up to a hydrant, you were right in the action and the visuals looked great. Awesome work!
thanks a bunch! i definitely considered myself at the right place at the right time (:
Firefighters have all my respect!

I like how most of them carry an axe on their hip. Thats gotta make you strong.

That pickhead axe is a necessity for L.A. City and L.A. County Fire in case they're assigned to ventilate the roof, breach walls, or knock the hinges off doors.
Very Dramatic footage!Good Work! Also good work and knockdown by the LAFD!
HOLY SHITTTTT!!! Awesome Catches & Footage.
Awesome Video.
Holy crap!! Awesome job! That thumbnail is sick!
thank you (:
Good performance by our LAFD pro's.
Great video. Nice flames
thank you
Back in the day when I was at 66s, the station was on Florence just off of Western just around the corner. TF 66 84 to 86
Mike 0355 yes right next to Burger palace. I started as an explorer there. Only for six months before the moved to Across from the Woodsy recycling center. Ole days for sure.
Tommy Hughes really, who was the advisor then Issac Burks still?
Mike 0355 no Sir Dale Bayless was the Post adviser.
Old Isaac good guy
Tommy Hughes are you on the job now
I"m sorry, but the old Simon Duplex looks way better than the new Pierce. That old Simon unit may be old, but she's capable, and I see a lot of stations using the Simon as a backup before the LaFrance!
the reason California has bad air is they cant stop bein on fire
Gracia excelente trabajo por NOSOTRO ustedes todos DIOS ME LO CUIDE ENORMENTE
How many 1 3/4" lines do they need to pull?
Enough
This was quite refreshing to see compared to a lot of videos I’ve been seeing lately where everyone is taking their time. I watched one the other night where the neighboring house caught fire in the 5 minutes it took for the truck on scene to finally get the first 1 ¾” going.
I’ll take this “too many” and quick response any day over what seems to have become the norm with a lot of departments!
Enough to keep UA-cam comment sections happy
People are just like that. They do not understand a spotter, they think we are sansation seekers, but we capture the images because we like to see the emergency services at work. To support them
Decent camera work, excellent quality video, good drama capture, stay safe.
It's a very good thing we have the fire department
Another Great Video By A Great Buff! Keep up the good work Jayy
thanks alec! you’re the best, man.
Great catch! Thanks for the upload.
Quick question... And it shows my ignorance... I don't watch a ton of videos with LAFD, but it seems like in the ones I do, they *only* run tillers. Am I imagining this?
this is true, LAFD runs strictly tillers. thanks for watching.

I'm just glad I don't live where my house can burn down because the fire department can't get past the bars over the doors and windows.
Paul LaDuke I bet we can say the same about you

Great job, but look at the staffing. Nice to have a city back the department.
Dfgufk
The video is very nice
Fast and good work, thumbs higher than high.
what is diffrent red helmet with black helmet? thanks for video :)
This is a coincidence, I was the 451st person to give this video a thumbs uo. That's 451 as in Farenheit 451. Great video by the way.
haha. thanks for watching
oof!
jeffo.stroff
Pre arrival for sure, the video shows 45 fire trucks coming from all over the globe
Great job
Ya I know, that's why I said that because I see them get on a lot of roofs for no reason. Why break the reckless practice now.
Why are they just standing looking in five minutes before start put out the fire?
Its too bad no one left baking soda and vinegar in a back pack next to the lawn mower gas refill can like I accidently did. It stopped my whole house from burning down lol. A really good book was in there to.
These are the firemen you killed in GTA5 :(
Great video
Jhig
Man the was an awesome catch. And yoi really caught the action. Some people keep the camera on an Eng. For like two min of a five min video. Youlet us see who was there and went back to want we all really are looking for awesome job man awesome job.
R66 is an new addition to FS66 do you k ow how long it has been there?
thanks for watching, i couldn’t get there so quickly and only film responses haha. 66s has always has RA66, 266 and 866 (:
Lets just say that they have had it as long as uou have known. I began as an explorer with FS.66 was there for a year and went to County 16's. This was when the Paramedics wore those light blue jump suits, 1991.
and even burned out, the house will sell for 200 grand :) That's CA for you.
Why was r66 firefighters getting in to ppe? Is it if a firefighter goes down?
@@gustavsvard7955 all Firefighters put on PPE on a structure. The Battalion Chief or Incident Command can assign them to any position needed.
Wow. Way too many people on the fireground compared to here in Australia. Quick to get on scene but slow to attack the fire. Great extinguishment and salvage. Nice job boys and girls
Australia has fire depts, I thought just kangaroos just live there
Takes a brave person to go inside that structure.
Awesome video!
Damn man that’s what I call action!! You got a little close for comfort there in some parts (surprised they didn’t make you get back lol). Great work capturing responses, on scene and action! 🔥
i could feel the heat from across the street, imagine from the sidewalk where i was standing! haha. they ended up putting fire tape up but they never told me to move, fortunately. thanks for watching! 👍🏾
Well I thought that this was a great job. And I am super critical
Great work!

Poor performance. Slow getting water to the fire. Too many fire fighters standing around. Too much man power???
Please tell all of us firefighters exactly what they could have done faster and better and how. Since so many feel it was an excellent job please bring us to our senses.
Why don’t you upload vids anymore?
it’s been one week......
What rank are the orange helmets in LA?
captains
Oh gotcha. Our Captains wear red in MD and our safety officers are orange so was curious. Thanks!
good footage... LAFD is VERY aggressive... excellent knockdown
I hope one day i get to catch one in SBC. Cause they have lots of vegetation, home, commercial fires everytime
