Yes, the nozzle girl should have been faster and more aggressive. But the lost time was of no consequence in this case. Donning full SCBA at a fire like this is important, and we have seen LAFD not be as carefull about this as they should be in several videos like this coming out of South LA.

Many departments are going to a "clean cab" system. Dirty cancer causing items stay out of the cabs. Also, many firefighters were undoing seatbelts to fit the airpacks on while en route to the fire, sometimes with tragic results.
That one FF was a one man show. Grabs the hose without masking up. While the other was masking up. The RV wasn’t going to be saved in theses few seconds. He had job . He had a saw go do your job . Not everyone’s.

Agreed, most likely he is the senior FF on E66 and saw slow progress being made by the other FF who had originally pulled the line, she could’ve used alittle bit more of moving with a purpose. Just those few seconds made a world of difference during the fire attack!
You're completely wrong. He was not prepared, no gloves, no SCBA, no safety. It's a fucking RV and it's completely destroyed, there was no chance of saving it in those precious 10 seconds it took for the other firefighter to don their SCBA. Also he had a saw, he had a job to do. But I guess freelancing is his priority. That fighter did as trained, get the nozzle to the fire, flake it out. Put on your mask and get on air, then attack. You don't don your SCBA until ready, air is precious. Everyone knows a RV is filled with shit that will kill you over long term. But I guess cancer and respiratory is not a concern for some firefighters, saving a completely destroyed RV is more important.

@@chrisbarr1359 The Ff stood up wind of the blaze whilst taking control of the line until she started up BA set, it's quite normal in the UK for Ff's to carry out the initial attack until the BA wearer's are ready, although I'm now retired we would do that on a regular basis. I think the female Ff was still under instruction or guidance from a more experience Ff.

It looks like these people were more interested in breaking into that commercial building to help themselves with whatever were inside there as well as the adjacent storage yard, than putting out the fire engulfing that burning truck. Did they set fire to the truck also?

I don't get why they had to gain access to that business in the yard and inside, the fire was outside of the fence, and if they had to check to make sure there wasn't any fires inside the fence, then all they had to do was get on the roof and look, or put a ladder up to the fence and look over!

Great example of working together: firefighter#1 was having some difficulties with his air tank and firefighter#2 saw that and took over and he put the blue stuff on the red stuff. And we all know how difficult that was. 😆

I was just thinking about that. From the video it is hard to see why they did that.
Sort of like often seeing breaking windows all over unnecessarily even though there is no heat build-up in the building.
It will either be the building owners insurance or the vehicle owners insurance if there is any carried by the vehicle owner
