With that much fire showing and to have a knock in 30 minutes. What a great job you guys did in doing that. Thank you to all firefighters everywhere for protecting the citizens of your coverage area.
Great job!! Very impressed with their knowledge of where the hydrants were located. They were communicating as to which engine would take which hydrant. They stopped hooked up and pulled the lines from the engine as they went to the scene. So many departments go to the scene than a firefighter manually pulls the line back to the hydrant they drove right past!
I've watched a lot of fire video's on here since I come from a family of firemen, and all I can say is "Excellent Fire Fighting" Period!!! Great job guys!!!
This is a great lesson on how command is making everyone move smooth and have the most effect on the fire. Within minutes multiple lines are on the fire and conditions are improving. Well done.
First thing I noticed. You guys TALK to each other. Fantastic communication both en route and on scene. Aggressive too. If I'm not mistaken the first in engine caught their own hydrant. Perfection. This is a well trained and aggressive fd. Keep getting after it boys.
This is one of the best videos I saw for a long time and it brings back memories when I was a volunteer firefighter for St.Helens Oregon. I can't believe how things have change since I 984 since I started when I was a explore and work up a volunteer. Great job ladies and gentlemen on this fire.
@Fairfax County Fire and Rescue I know I like these longer-form videos of actual working fires better than some of your earlier shorter content. Please keep these videos coming. I think others also prefer this sort of content.
I loved seeing different perspectives of the fire scene and video clips of putting out the fire. The explanations of what’s going on what’s going on was superb!
Very impressed with how fast they attacked the fire once on scene. They hit the ground running. It drives me crazy when I see crews arrive then spend the next 5 minutes putting on there PPE.
I've kinda thought the same thing watching other fire response videos. Take forever to begin hitting with water as the places burn. I imagine some of them are volunteer units and not as proficient.
GREAT Video Footage.... love the POV and getting reactions from the neighbors. I had instant Flash Back. I too lived in a cul de sac like one shown. Our neighbors and their kids were like Family. My own kids spent lots of time with the other kids. My house was dead center in cul de sac same as house on fire. I can't imagine loosing a great home like that. Years later and in different neighborhood, house across street had a fire start in garage then spread to exterior. Fire Units responded quickly and the hydrant was 20 feet away. They got flames knocked back then cut holes to ventilate. The 5/8's Fire Stop Dry Wall in garage kept fire from spreading into the interior. There was still significant smoke and water damage anyway.
From our untrained eyes the fire ground looks like chaos. But thanks to the excellent video and captions, we can see how well organized everything actually is. Outstanding work!
Aggressive fire attack means water on fire as fast as you can. Textbook use of the principles learned from FSRI and Project Mayday among others. Very well done, thank you for sharing brothers.
Great video - the descriptive captions are first class. Fascinating. Big appreciation to whoever produced the video and of course the firefighters and other responders. Kind regards to you all from the UK.
You all did an outstanding job. You did so much better than most fire companies I follow. You got in there and got it done before the entire home burned to the ground. Will subscribe to the channel 😊
It baffles me as why this is not SOP for all fire departments … get there quick as you can - put water on it quick as you can while at the same time being sure all are out of the structure - this operation was a master class!
Your team is the best. What a fantastic job. Other videos have crews waiting for water forever and can't get PPE on. You would think it would be in in the rig. This is how it is done. DW retired BC
Excellent explanations and comments. Thank you. Great to see the guys ready to go, not spending valuable minutes putting on PPEs. P.S. Second time viewing this after spending time with various learning how to read smoke videos.
I know everybody says this but I still would like to thank you firefighters for being there for us. you are the unsung heroes of the civilian side.... without you we would live in a country that would contain nothing but ashes and dust...
Nice video good to see good for training thanks for adding additional information thanks for having the multiple points of view so we could really taking the whole picture and see what's going on.

The residents of Fairfax are lucky to have such an advanced emergency response. This is a long way from whem my parents and siblings were first responders for Fairfax county in the 1970s. This is the standard that the first responders in our nation should look to.
Wow what a professional response! Within minutes of arrival they had water on the fire and hoses stretched from hydrants to provide more. Really bad hydrant placement by city planning not having one in the middle of the block
i have been to Virginia and DC my grandparents live down there and great job on the fire i love watching this kind of stuff i have some videos of fire calls coming past my house and others if you want to check it out i will be watching I have some fire vids check it out
I'm in the UK. Not an experienced firefiighter, although I worked in laboratories at a time when small fires often popped up. Had to know which extinguisher to use though as some would react further with the chemicals that were burning. Two things troubles me about US housing -- first, your houses are mainly wooden (since the Great Fire of London in the 1600s ! we have much preferred stone and brick built houses. Two, your open plan layouts mean you don't have the firebreaks we have here in the uk where every room has its own door. We are taught to close room doors at night.
Great video and narration. As good a knock down as this is, (and it is), I wonder why they didn’t initially knock down the bulk of fire with the master streams of the two engines and ladder. IDK if the ladder is a quint, but the elevated master stream should have slowed the progression of the fire, as hand lines are stretched? aka “Transitional Attack”.
Interesting that Truck has the nozzle. Everyone utilized for rapid response. Outstanding.👍
Water on it right away and these guys are hustling!!!
Fantastic attack and flawless plan executed by the department. 👍👍👍

That was a great attack, and use of safety gear. one of the best departments I have seen.. so efficient, effective..
This is my county Fire Dept, they don't mess around. Fire knocked out in less than 5 mins or it's free 😂😂😂
one of the best departments I have seen.. so efficient, effective.
Best Response / Strategy I've seen in a very long time!!

I have no problem living here have always used good tactics and always will. I don't see any of your masterpiece videos anywhere,
Very efficient and well trained fire dept.
Great video that provides the many parts of the initial assignment.

Nice job on the attack and the presentation. Great to see other aggressive fire departments still exist.
Great video

Nice work guys, and the firecam is a great piece of kit!
Well Done! Both fire reduction and video production!
Like watching a team play baseball after they've played together for five years. Extremely professional!

How it’s done….Strong work Fairfax County !
A perfect example of how training, communication and teamwork resulted in the fire quickly getting knocked down. 😊
It's nice to see units getting water on the fire as soon as they hit the ground.
They saved the charred hulk.
Excellent job.
A great explanation and view of how fighting a fire works. Very informative - thanks
Outstanding video.
That was a great attack, and use of safety gear
Great job gentlemen!😊
I'm a firefighter with OWL, I found this very useful since I haven't run any fires with your department yet.
Very good video - conveys who is doing what and why. Well done.
Nice video good to see good for training thanks for adding additional information thanks for having the multiple points of view so we could really taking the whole picture and see what's going on.
It unusual to see a fire department put water on a fire within ten minutes of arrival. Amazing how well water works on fire.

Outstanding fire attack and command!
Strong work.
Wow what a professional response! Within minutes of arrival they had water on the fire and hoses stretched from hydrants to provide more. Really bad hydrant placement by city planning not having one in the middle of the block
Good response and very good initial knockdown.....aggressive is key.
Water is a remarkable element.
Nice job guys..👍✌️✌️
Good one Ryan!
Great video, shame there was so much damage. Good work to all.
Great job by all 👍🏻
A job well done! Might want to consider keeping that 2nd arriving truck out of the cul-da-sac, looked pretty clogged up with 2 trucks parked in their.
Great job.
That a good fire department. Used to live there.
“Big red truck! Big flashy lights! Meh I’m going to turn anyways🤷♂️”
they knocked that down quickly.
Good job Firefighters
I just saw this video in my suggested and thought the equipment looked familiar. Oh yea, my dept has one of their old ladder trucks haha
Nice to watch how the U.S fire department works ..☺️ 😅
Greetings from Germany ❤
Bonjour super la vidéo aux coeurs de l action avec les pompiers pour leurs dévouement merci de faire connaître notre métier en France
Good greeve, that is a lot of engines at the first alarm!!
Nice quick attack!
i have been to Virginia and DC my grandparents live down there and great job on the fire i love watching this kind of stuff i have some videos of fire calls coming past my house and others if you want to check it out i will be watching I have some fire vids check it out
At every fire video someone always has to find something wrong especially when they were not on scene and don’t know all the facts.
I'm in the UK. Not an experienced firefiighter, although I worked in laboratories at a time when small fires often popped up. Had to know which extinguisher to use though as some would react further with the chemicals that were burning.

That's the way to do it !
One heck of a job!
Job well done ...quick kock down
