I ordered a 25' Maverick Lariat Hybrid. We test drove a 25' Santa Cruz and my wife said "the Ford Maverick sucks compared to this!". We just bought the truck and it's definitely underrated in this segment.
Take the Santa Cruz and STRETCH it by 4 inches and add all that extra room to the backseat... then it will be a better seller! The backseat area is not at all adequate for legroom
All things considered, he bottomed out the vehicle while pushing that 30' incline. I kinda wonder if it wouldnt have faired better without the big dip he put it into.
DCTs and CVTs just aren’t optimized for off road and soft road applications. Hyundai and Subaru make them work to varying degrees of success but I don’t think they are longevity options in this type of service.
That dual clutch transmission is a real let down. They are great for on road performance cars but for anything that tows or goes offroad they just suck. Hyundai needs to give the Santa Cruz and the Santa Fe a torque converter instead.
The THING on the fender comes off and you can mounts go pro in that location

You should be putting it in snow mode and turning off the traction control.
Love the tests on these cross overs
Honda Ridgeline has rear AC , But not just vents , Honda's is actually a Tri-zone AC
Ridgeline has rear AC
Just came to say the same thing
Why is the cover on the rearview mirror falling off? Theses with the DCT aren't good.
Texas sun doing its thing. It weirdly happens on most brands.
The DCT is great in most situations, other than 30 degree low speed off roading.

Nah if you want a huge ass truck there are plenty of other options. Get rid of the back seat and make it more bed area.
I would like to see the base engine and conventional 8 speed. That's the only version that makes sense, after that your better getting anything else.
This has the potential to do Alot better with undercarriage protection, better tires, and etc.
Thats the second time ive seen a Hyundai engine shut off during a off road test, damn

I like the Santa Cruz better (XRT trim)
Are you not afraid of the DCT issues?
Considering that hill is tiny that’s embarrassing
It’s not about size so much as angle. 30 degrees is steeper than the GoPro would suggest.

My 94 Corolla has made it up tougher hills then that! 😂 send it!
Uh they nailed the looks? Yeah for making a vehicle ugly as possible 😂😂
I thought Santa drove a sleigh... turns out, it's a Hyundai. Who knew!
