I'm seeing a lot more of these on the road in recent years compared to when it launched. Like a LOT more. I wonder if dealerships are offering incentives, or maybe the word just got out about them.
Again, if this model was a bargain with no power passenger seat, no moon roof, and no driver seat pocket, I would understand if it was $32k but at $42 and lacks all of those things mentioned, it is seriously over priced. But, what else is new? Great review as always, Joe!
I’m not big on sunroofs I’ve had two 4runners, H2 Hummer, and a sienna van, and I’ve never use the sunroof on any of them. As far as the seats go, the Hummer and one of my 4 runnersI had the sheepskin seats. They were great summer or winter.

Dear Hyundai, the Santa Cruz refresh is great, but there is still 2 gigantic problems with the Santa Cruz that need to be fixed first, where is the Hybrid Santa Cruz? And second get rid of the DCT and have the 8 speed as the only transmission since the DCT doesn’t like towing or even light off-roading and then the Santa Cruz would sell even better
For me personally , I think of this as the Chevy El Camino. I don’t even expect to take it off road. Every Santa Cruz that sells is a slap in the face to Chevrolet for failing to remake the el Camino. Glad it has a turbo, I can’t imagine how boring a hybrid would be.
Get rid of the 8-speed dual clutch transmission. In the lower trim levels with the non-turbo engine you get a much more reliable standard 8-speed transmission.
What is all this noise about a sun roof?I understand the other trims have it but it just something else to fail. You have four other windows to drown out the stereo anyhow.
The turbo engine should just come standard on all trims but i also wish it had a v6 or something. If it had a na 3.5L v6 with like 300hp/270lbft i would own one already
@@seadoo4life127 always wanted electric, but i need a car i can use to take trash to the dump. I'm done paying for fuel, but i need some practicality. lol
I have a 2024 Ioniq 6 SE AWD. It’s great fun to drive, quiet, comfortable, and I’m getting 350 miles of range in Normal drive mode. The value is in the SE trim but they’re hard to find on the lot. I snagged one In Transit. It was worth waiting a month for delivery. But I’d ask, you how often do you wish you had something with a truck bed, and/or need something for light towing? If you need a vehicle with the most versatility, the Santa Cruz may be the better choice. If you really only need something with sizable cargo space, maybe an Ioniq 5. I also have an F150, but it’s more than I need. I may trade it for a 2.5l turbo Cruz, seriously.Gotta have a sunroof.

these weird compact vehicles are not trucks. They're more like a suv shaped ute. My father owns one and the ride is car-like, the legroom is great, and the arm rest is big enough to share. Also, if you get the one with the cover in the back, you lose a foot of box space.
Have been very interested since it was a concept. No sunroof? Deal breaker at $42K! 2024 had the smaller sunroof. Ford is offering panoramic roof options on bigger trucks...not sure on Maverick. Big Hyundai fan & buyers here, but considering the Kia K5GT as it has the same engine as Sonata N line, but a lot more options. Hyundai is missing out on sales by cutting corners on top end models. Overall, I'd buy the 2024 Santa Cruz, now being discounted like $3500 & live with the fingerprints. The 2024 XRT has side steps & roof rails, & truck bed rails. And the small sunroof at least. Come on Hyundai!!
sun roof is something else to leak eventually. I've never cared for them.. Sharp car/truck tho.. I'm looking into the Santa Cruz's right now.. For a "possible" purchase next year.
Flat black scares me more then gloss black because flat black likes to fade and turn white and just look terrible after just a few months in the Florida sun but that is my opinion on it
Dual clutch transmission!!!! Could you do anything more worthless, I doubt it. That's a serious dealbreaker (won't last and huge repair bills) It's a shame, with an 8 speed regular (torque converter) transmission it would be a great option for many people.

As lot of corners cut on this unfortunately for my money. No sunroof, power pass seat ,ventilated seats disappointing. I do live the new infotainment system though
