"holy shit, that drummer is amazing!" 2. "where's the singer?"/"who is doing the singing?"/"why can't i see the singer?"/"wtf?" 3. "cool light & video show"... 4. "i don't get it"...

I always had a passing interest in Tool up until this album. But hearing my friend play the song's main riff at 1:14 through his Marshall amp made me fucking squeal and I've been an Adam Jones fanboy ever since. So fucking good.
I think it’s how they added gain to the mike, to artificially produce the sound they made in studio, when really he was adding vocal grain. The rest is decent though
I was going to comment something similar, but I couldn't find a way to tag every second of the video in a single comment. It's just not possible. Better watch the whole thing.
Seeing this song live, is something else. You actually feel your mind opening up to what is you, the soul. Consciousness awakens and fear vanishes to what is really beyond ego. This is what they speak of, your not your mind, your the soul that is reborn infinitely death and life over and over through the eyes that are portals to what god really is through the light and darkness of space and time.
Portnoy has always been my favorite drummer. Everything he does while performing is outstanding. But Carey has something special; whenever I see him play I get shivers down my spine, something Portnoy never does. I don't know what it is; it's like he puts his soul in his performance. I've listened to this song thousands of times, and the last was no different from the first; nothing short of an orgasm.
Pay no attention to that man behind the curtain!!!! He's just one of the best vocalist frontmen in the history of hard rock!!!. Greetings from Buffalo N.Y.
I am a bass player, and I like to think of the pattern as waves, they come and go back. 12-10-12-14-10-12-15, always going and coming back. Then 14-10-14-10-12-10-12. It's kind of hard at the beggining, but once you get the hand of it, you can even memorise the exact numbers by heart
Jeepers Scoob Yeah, Tool isn't necessarily physically hard to play like say Dream Theater, but their songs have so many different parts so it's hard to memorize them without having heard the songs so much.
The intro isn’t bad. If you’ve studied it, you’ll know that the intro is in 5/4. Every note is an eighth note. It may also help you to know that in every measure, the only notes that are different are the last two notes of each measure (the notes that fall on beats five and the “and” of 5). And it follows a 4 measure pattern.
