      Y2K absolutely in terms of feel and technique of the genre. Clear example is when Adam says he strips his composition to vibration (instead of shredding or chugga chugga), you know they are special.

      @Cale Phillips Seen both and love both. But Tool is wayyyyyyy better.
      Okay, gonna give you a really hard reality check. Read the "essay" below if you can.
      And as a drummer myself, I sometimes find Ramstein song's drumming, or sometimes their music, to be uinnovative (and boring?) too. While Danny Carey is an absolute beast; not only with his power but with his innovative fills, licks, polyrhythms and use of rudiments - example like Rosetta Stoned where Danny Carey played a more complex version of the Swiss Army Triplet in 3/4 with his hands while his right feet plays a busy & difficult 5/4 bass drum pattern and his left foot plays in quarter note pulse (can count in 1/4). And on top of that Adam's heavy guitar are in 13/4 and that bass guitar riff by Justin Chancellor (in 5/4 time) is soooooooooooooo good and tasty. Such kind of things are not in Ramstein. I mean yeah, they're heavy and good but that's it. They stick with the genre and do nothing to push the metal genre forward. While Tool is innovative, pushing it forward with a mix of classical, tribal and jazz stuff.

    I was basically in front of Adam Jones during that concert. When the guitar string collapsed at 06:27 I was petrified for a couple of seconds, only to realize that his technician brought the replacement guitar almost immediately and he reentered perfectly again at 06:42, so fucking professional!

    It's really cool how people don't insult you for having recorded several songs although it was strictly permitted. Because everybody's honest: we all wanna have a memory of this special night. So THANK YOU SO FUCKING MUCH FOR FILMING IT IN FUCKING 4K. And yes, props to the audience. A few short photos we taken here and there but nearly everybody just stood there and enjoyed the show and I gotta admit I have never felt such a thing at a show. Being somebody who loves to film certain parts of certain songs which I like, I wasn't used to "let go" a show like this! A god damn Tool show! But the specific feeling I got by simply don't filming and also by the all the others don't filming was unique. And I got to stand at the standing area in front of the stage. Holy sht.
    Anyway: thank you so much (again).

    • @TheBlackfall234
      @TheBlackfall234 5 років тому

      Videos and Photos are stolen memory from your mind. If you want memorys then watch and take the experience and you wont forget it. If you bother with things like "how can i make sure i will remember this?" youre already out of experiencing the actual thing.

      The point is that you pay a ticket to see a Tool performance, it´s fine if you wanna take a picture or record a short video but is to annoying to spend the whole show through different mobilephone screens instead enjoy the videos and the band members playing a live show. I know what I´m saying because I had to pull down my brothers mobile to allow the view of the people behing us. Don´t do what you don´t wanna see. As simple as that.

      @@LeToplache007 agreed 100%. You obviously embody the message of parabol and enjoy the chance to be alive and breathing :) there are so many amazing places to go all over the world but monuments or world heritage sites or cities can live much longer than people and certainly most rock bands / artists. Music can now live even longer and perfectly preserved but the real privilege is to be on this Earth at the same time as these artists at the peak of their powers and to be able to witness their work first hand.
      I still have the same kind of joy and fulfilment from that concert, seeing Tool live was on my bucket list and now that I have seen them I enjoy and appreciate their music at least twice as much as I did before I saw them, if that is even possible. That feeling in itself is priceless. I would urge anyone who likes their music or message or who has only just started listening to them to go and see tool at the next opportunity you can find, live videos really are just not the same experience (even if these videos are amazing quality). And if you have the means to travel for it, I recommend to go and see Tool in Germany like I did, the crowd was absolutely amazing and far more appreciative or atmospheric than any gig I have been to in my hometown.

      I disagree. They are all top 10 alive at their instruments in my opinion. Danny Carey is an absolute beast and a legend but dude Tool is very VERY similar to Pantera in terms of Metal talent pool. 10000 days really provides proof the guitar is so heavy and absolutely chunks not many people can play with so many different techniques. And if you ask other vocalists to do what Maynard does there would be very few to find success. People hate on him for forgetting lyrics as if they aren't extremely complex lyrics with unbelievably difficult timing. They are all Hall of Famers and VERY good at what they do.

    • @seanlange6715

      The biggest discrepancy is between Danny and Adam. Bizarre a band that has such a brilliant drummer, has a guitar player who is afraid to play a guitar solo.

    • @Vahagnll
      @Vahagnll 3 роки тому +3

      @@seanlange6715 Adam isn't "afraid", it's just that guitar solos don't feature as prominently in Tool as do composition, tempo, structure, etc. And speaking of these things, you'd be hard pressed to find a guitar player as innovative as Adam (and Justin). Not every guitar player has to be Yngwie Malmsteen.
