Laura, it would be so fun if you added a short blooper reel to the end of the recap videos to show all of the funny little things that happened while filming that week’s videos
Lol, Ian and I are over here wishing we could just make our property beautiful, and landscape it up like yours and be a content farm, while you guys are eyeing up the commercial farm idea thinking it looks good, lol. Such a perfect example of "the grass is always greener" but also, how everyone's gardens and farms are also so infinitely inspiring!
Here's my dream - having a market garden that is just for donating to our local food bank. Just like filming the videos is just the tip of the iceberg for the work of youtube, growing the food is the easy part - selling and building the business is what takes forever. By partnering with my food bank, I would have an easy way to get the food into people's hands, wouldn't need food storage, and would be able to keep experimenting with new crops, and not have to keep my eye on what is profitable, and narrow in the growing focus. All the fun of farming, and all the good food, with a bit less work. But I told Ian I won't agree to that until there is an extra zero at the end of the UA-cam money, lol.
For me, the goal is to get delicious local food into people's hands. By having a farm, I can do that for 100 people. But, on your platform, you make a video, and it could reach a million people. If only a tiny portion take the information, and use it to grow, it will still lead to way more food. Plus, all the joy for the rest of the viewers. It's easy for me to take the power of social media for granted, but we are really so lucky to live in a time when we have it. I wouldn't have a farm if it wasn't for all the incredible examples and information that has been shared with me, and the friendships and connections I've made online are invaluable.
Hey, Serina! I hope this brings more people over to your channel. You guys are so awesome! The garden tour just had me amazed at how much you have accomplished in a few short months! Incredible!
I love it when content creators get together and chat in the comment section! I love watching your videos as well so it's just like chatting with friends.
I’m from Alberta and if I ever get back to BC I’m going to check out your market. I love watching your show as well as Garden Answer. Plus many more! Happy gardening!
Very well said!!!! You are very definite examples of counting your blessings.
For the ice: Make a video using your lemons, strawberries, and lavender (or mint) for a fancy lemonade. Then, slip in a little part about the ice maker. 😃 That way your video is in line with the other cooking videos that incorporate your grown produce. ♥️
I really enjoy how Aaron has become so talkative!!
Something is eating on my lemon tree leaves! Please let me know what I need to spray on them! I have them out on my deck.
@@jeankeith10 Google is your friend! 😉😉😉
I have been watching your channel for years and I do not get tired of or bored with any of your content. I can watch you repot your containers, move hostas and harvest garlic over and over again. I feel like each time I learn something new or am reminded how and when to do that task. Also, I'm so enjoying having Aaron wearing a mike during these Q&A videos. It's fun to hear his take on things and see how well you two do work together. :)
Agreed. This channel is unique in that I don't get bored with what might be considered repetitive content, nor do I mind content out of the norm, like cooking and antiquing and such. In fact, I believe it rounds out the content and I really enjoy those videos. Aaron becoming more involved in the actual meat of the channel has made a huge difference in showing that this is a family effort, not just Laura showing us how to garden, which is much more interesting, entertaining, and even edifying. Few channels can claim to have earned that kind of success. I've been watching for six years and this channel has only grown better. ~ Lisa
Amen
Having Aaron involved adds another dynamic level of interest.
I’d watch an ice machine review. Let’s be honest, I’d watch anything Garden Answer 😆
Heck yeah, I would too. I like watching reviews, especially when they are honest.
Yes I would too, it’s my morning ritual, I cannot start the day without seeing what is happening in that part of the world, Iam in Queensland Australia, and so love this channel
I am really glad you reviewed the ice machine. Can’t wait to see the Hartley.
Me too 😅😅😅
Me too lol
Hello everybody. Garden Answer and my supper. All the way from Cape Town South Africa. Just keep growing🌻
Lovin the white shirt!
Look... there is nothing wrong with doing an ice machine review on a gardening channel. Gardeners drink a LOT of cold beverages so it’s very relatable. 😁
Yes, do a hydration segment with reviews of water bottles, hats, etc.
The camera coloring and clarity are beautiful in this video.
Thank you for sharing.
Did they ever say what brand/model the new camera was? I may have had a blonde moment and missed it 😬
+1!! 1/2 price camera that lasts longer?! Tell us more! Affiliate link!
@@daynamiller69 They never indicated the camera brand in their video.
I’d like to know to didn’t catch it in the video
@@lbrown2542 Laura did not indicate the name of the camera or model number.
I have several nice cameras of my own so I did not inquire. I just commented on the quality of the camera footage Laura used.
I love You Can't Eat The Grass channel. This is gonna boost their numbers!
Me too 🙂
Their videos that have seen are really long though. I can't watch for 90 minutes or more.
@@n.w.414 those are their live videos you are referring to
I watch them also
Me too!! Team veggies!
Aaron needs his own channel specializing in irrigation and technical stuff. It'd be cool to watch him explain stuff.
Happy belated Father’s Day, Aaron. And to all the amazing GA fathers out there. 🥰💙🤙🏽
About an ice maker video: it'd be fun to see a Laura's (and fam's) favorite things video! I'd like to hear about non-gardening things you guys love too. Indoor video idea! 😁
I am 26 and I am just getting into gardening. I have learned so much from this channel in the last few months. This is my new happy place on the internet. 😁
Ktealove I am almost 70 and have gardened for years and learn something everyday from Laura and Aaron! Excited for the years of gardening you have ahead of you! God bless!
Wood chips are your friend to improve your soil. It does take some nitrogen but what woodchips give back in soil improvement its worth it. The nitrogen stealing is minor and doesn't last long. The amount GA fertilizes, they will not have a single problem. Watch horttube with Jim Putnam for reliable information. He has a ton of knowledge from actual horticulurists and his own experience owning a nursery. Laura is wonderful but there are a ton of things she gets wrong, or don't apply to anyone who is not high desert. Happy gardening!!
I think because your family is so personable we would watch you digging a hole and not plant anything.💚🙃
I would sit and watch Laura and Aaron talk like they do in many videos, and I absolutely love when Laura's momma is in videos. The antique shopping videos are wonderful to watch.
@@nancydeis7121 Antiquing vids are my favorite!💕
Laura, that was a great Segway when you were talking about not telling Aaron where the sunflower was and changed to "where's Russell"!!! You guys Crack me up! 😅🤣😂
True confessions: I do not like any of the videos when Aaron and Laura leave their property. I watch faithfully but with no joy. I know there will be no Benjamin, Samantha Grace, Russell or Cheddar. Sad. 😢
Yes! The 🌻 sunflower is safe for now!
That's when you know it's hot out when Russell is not on your lap.
I could watch you plant the same things and water and walk us around your garden and I would NEVER get bored! NEVER! XOXO Heidi
I have been watching you guys for years. Even though i have seen your garlic video (for example) in prior years. I love seeing it again. It is a reminder of tips. And there are always different circumstances. Never feel bad about repeating content.
This camera is clean. Cheaper and lighter and a nice result… it’s a keeper.
OMG. She answered my question. My day is made!
I absolutely love the recap videos !!
I especially love how you two just have a little conversations about all your topics ❤️❤️❤️
You just make my heart happy 🥰
Yes me too!!!!
You talking about Proven Winners and the black lace elderberry had me going to our local garden supply and purchasing one. So excited! While there I got some Captain Jacks weed killer. So, to answer the comment on you being an inspiration…big yes…you recommended local garden centers; Proven Winner; Captain Jack and I have purchased Espoma fertilizer. Thanks.
Yesss I want one of those black lace shrubs too after her showing them! And that weed killer 🤩
Can't get the weed killer in our area. We have had to settle for Burn Out.
@@dlsdyer9071 Burn Out works great, that’s what I have found here.
I now use felcos, biotone, proven winners, annual flowers...🌼🌻
@@GerberDaisy72 It works well on sunny areas but we have a lot of shade. I was hoping Captain Jack's would help in those spots.
I’m one of those 40-thousand new subscribers! 😀 I immensely enjoy your videos as a garden newbie; I love the down-to-earth vibe, honesty and this journey of learning.
Do the ice review with a lemonade or fresh beverage from the garden recipe! Two for one and garden related 😂
I love when you & Aaron get off on tangents!🥰 Thanks for all the explanations, reasoning, & rationalizing you both do! We need to hear all point of views. Including Benjamin & eventually Samantha Grace!!! Lol
Lately, this are my favorite videos. I really enjoy hearing you both talk and discuss your projects. Sometimes I paused the video and start discussing some topic with my husband. It almost feels like some friend´s gathering. Keep on with this long videos, we enjoy them a lot.
I only use Proven Winners and Bio-Tone products because of Laura and Aaron!!
Sunflower: *exists*
Aaron: “so you have chosen death?”
😂
You look amazing in white. And yes! We want an ice review. You can post it as a “short”😆
I was thinking the same! I love her in the white shirt but I'm sure she won't wear more in the garden or out in the cut flower garden or as she calls it 'the dust pan' section😄
@@potatopotatoeOG I know, it’s “powdery”as her an Arron would say. Maybe we can have white shirt garden tours. 🤣🤣
I know that Aaron was joking about doing a Garden Tour right now and I know it would cause you MAJOR Stress but it really would be interesting to see ALL of the Process that is going on in your Gardens right now. We do Love your Beautiful Gardens but we Learn so much from you and the "Mess" right now would be a Wonderful Learning Experience.
I agree Aaron! Garden tour before you get busier….haha
Laura/Aaron, it doesn't matter if you're planting the same thing every year. There'll always be new techniques/products that would be different from the previous year.
Maybe you could do a video taking us on one of your evening walks whilst it's cooler outside.
While I would love to see the garden at night, I feel Laura and Aaron give us so much we should allow them some private time.
I'm such a child I had to giggle when Aaron said yeh we couldn't just potato videos we have to keep things spicy LOL xxx
Hi KC..
How are you doing today?
I like the new camera quality, the image is a bit warmer toned but its clear and the sky looks extra blue.
Can you share the make and model of the new camera?
I have watched for years and I thought the video quality was great. If it’s lighter, cheaper, and sealed why wouldn’t you use them. If anybody complains just fall back on the fact that you are saving the environment by saving electronic waste. You wouldn’t be lying. :)
Gardeners must have ice!! Especially in Texas. I buy bags from Sonic. Best ice on the planet!
Yes!! When she said Chevron ice I thought “doesn’t she have a Sonic??” 😂
When you mentioned that the neighbors said you could come back and do updates on the new plants, it reminded me of the yard rescape the you both did for Aarons sister? How is coming along? P.S.... Aaron, stay away from that sunflower!!!! 😂😂🌻
I remember she said one of the houses were sold short after they did the project
Yes, I remember that also 🤔
"You can't eat the grass" raise food and flowers for a farmer's market. I just received 2 PW Black Lace Elderberries today. I order them because of you, I put in a Lemony Lace last year. I think a meadow garden to me means 3ft tall grass and tall flowers like daises bachelor buttons, black-eyed susans and such, my point is with your wind it might flatten it down. It could be amazing however.
It’s going to be SO nice when you are all done!!! Sacrifice brings blessings🥰
It is soooo nice to find another person who does walk around like the are on the runway! I love that you clothe yourself like a normal person.
I know this is an old video but I always listen to your old recap videos whenever I’m driving/ doing house chores or even when I’m working in the garden! I think I would faint if I got 41,000 subscribers in 28 days, that would be a dream come true lol
At least you don’t have heat and humidity. I take a shower snd go out for five minutes and dripping with sweat. Dripping like a faucet non stop. Can’t function in the heat. Feels like I’ll faint😂 And when it rains, which is often, the humidity spikes more you can barely breath. You guys are lucky to have dry heat. I’ll take that any day!😂
sounds like florida weather...
Bout broke farms- are you in minnesota?
I'm in South Louisiana, so,you know I can relate.I drink plenty of water, every day.
I've been to Louisianna and I'll take GA weather any day of the week. And the dry heat. I am not a fan of fogged up windows and my glasses fogging up every time I go out side while in Louisianna. Yuck
Same here in Toronto.
The longer the video the better. I am always sad when they are over.
I’m so glad when I can sit and watch your videos, please don’t ever worry about how long your videos are because everyone loves you and Aaron! ❤️
Laura, "I'm not really orange in real life." So funny!
Hello Sharon..
How are you doing today?
We have day lilies planted towards the back of our property that give the deer something to eat and they leave all of the other flowerbeds alone. It's worth sacrificing a few plants to save the majority of them.
We feed the deer even give them watermelon, they don't bother our plants.
Very smart! 🥰🥰🥰
I have the same ice maker! Don’t put warm to hot water in the tank! My Grandson put warm water in ours & it made the same sound! I hope this is the problem solved! We just love ours!♥️
All I could think of was if we had that ice maker when our kids were little, the boys would have shoved in anything that would fit through those slots, LOL.
Loved the location and energy on the second set, so much more peaceful. The green colour from the garden made the picture more alive!
I´m new to your channel and was stuck from the first video, toooo many hours have I spent infront of your channels and everytime I start a new video my boyfriend laughs. Flowers are an obsession🌸
I just want to thank you for the inspiration and keep the beautiful work going!
Hope you and your family have a nice summer! ☺️
/Lisa
I love how open in depth you guys go on this channel about your whole experience of what you love doing and the reality of your business. I love watching your projects and such but I'm more drown/ curious to your life on youtube. Not very many youtubers are so open. Thank you!! I find it fascinating!
Yes, PLEASE! A garden tour would be awesome!! I'm working on multiple projects in my own yard and I just love seeing the changes! It's all progress!
You Can't eat the Grass is awesome! Lots of Cat content too!
The Florida Weave… a new dance move
For anyone who loves the color red but you're having a hard time matching cottage garden pink coral purple yellow; try burgundy. It is beautiful next to anything but purple and pink especially. Hope this helps. I hadn't gotten to start much of a garden, but when I do I'm taking that advice that I got from my local garden center. This is my favorite UA-cam cannel. Days go by before I get a chance to watch any other channel; but I always make time for Garden Answer.
Who else wants to know who Katie is? Her questions are highlighted in almost every video. 🤔 Love your videos!
Holy buckets when Aaron said the icemaker was expensive he wasn't kidding!!!!
Who else presses the like button even before the video starts🌷🌸🌞
Always!
When you know, you know.
Did anyone else hear the cricket start chirping? A sound I love in the great outdoors! 10.42
Glad you went outside to film. The background is much more pleasing on the eye. Sound quality is better too.
Yey for the "You can't eat the grass" UA-camrs mention! 🙂🌸🌺
We are 6 days at 108. I guess that is better than the 115’s we were having last week 🥵. My poor garden
I have always been a gardener for as long as I can remember. Last year, after following your channel, I tested out Proven Winners....and what a difference! I loaded up on many of their annuals this year for my hanging baskets and to tuck into the landscape and my gardens have never looked better! Worth every penny.
Proven Winners is my go to brand, always better even if more $
You have sooo much produce
How about a surprise gift for chefs in area? And then see what they make? ?
On sunflower murder...Laura “There's one in the garden and I'm not telling u where it is”. And the next sententence....Laura u told Aaron EXACTLY where the sunflower lives!!!!😱😂😂😂🌺🌻🌸
Aaron only murders the ones in the landscape. That one is in the Raised Garden.
She did. I caught that.
Pretty sure she was talking about one in a garden bed and then one in the raised bed that's already flowering, two different sunflowers.
@@wendychick8368 the one in the raised bed isn't flowering yet...
I think you’re beautiful even if you are orange 🥰
go with the less expensive and light weight camera!
We love you no matter what you use!💕
I didn’t see it as looking orange, if anything I thought you were filming in the golden hour. I thought it was lovely!
Never get bored! You may plant a lot of the same things but it's often in a different spot or with a different mix. Love the inspiration.
I never heard of proven winners or espoma before I watched your videos. Now it’s everywhere in my garden. Thanks for everything
The thing about doing the same thing every year is that you always show or demonstrate a new idea or technique. And for me when I see things repeatedly I learn better. So don’t think you are boring us. I think it’s great!
Not sure if you've had a recurrence of the weird noise--we've found with our GE Opal that if you separate the water tank from the side of the actual icemaker (they're magnetic, so you can move it anywhere from a few millimeters to several centimeters apart), it stop most of that vibration. Also if you leave it on all the time, sometimes it helps to turn it off completely, let it rest for like ten, fifteen minutes, and then turn it back on. And make sure the vents and everything are all clean! I know you don't have the cats inside all the time, but making sure all of the vents are clear of dust and gunk has helped ours immensely. We've had it for almost two years now and it is by far one of the best appliance purchases we've ever made.
I think both cameras were good, this one is really clear! I never thought you looked orange, wondering did you ever change out the pillows on the front porch. Lol.
You look lovely in white, Laura!
Gardening is new to me so I can listen to your videos over and over again. The recaps too! Between planting vegetables or flowers, cooking, checking in on the chickens or watching Benjamin adorably work next to you, the banter between you & Aaron in the recaps.... I really can't imagine getting tired of watching. There's so much variety and beautiful views ( your property is amazing ) I don't see myself getting tired or feel they are repetitious. You can still introduce Paul into the vids (coming soon I hope, you mentioned giving him a gopro or something) I'm still learning and will actually watch the same video, over and over because I get easily distracted and learn by repetition. so keep it ALL up, my boyfriend & I love your channel.
🙋♀️I'm one of your new 41,000 subscribers in the past 10 days. The content you put out here for all of us is absolutely amazing. From flowers to Food to creating a drip system in containers the list is endless!!! I honestly don't even know how you guys are able to do so much in a day and take care of your kids and your house , it blows my mind. I am bedridden right now due to blowing out my left knee and my right ankle. So i am just streaming all of your videos 24/7. I'm so grateful that I found you, you're definetly a bright spot in my day right now. Your knowledge is mind blowing !!!
My hubby looked over my shoulders one day while watching one of your older vids and said..she has a coat on but drinking a cup full of ice 😂😂😂😂 I told him to leave my garden people alone!
Oh no. Please review the ice maker. I love that kind of ice!!!
I just love recap videos! It's like sitting around a table listening to you and Aaron telling stories.
I just need to tell you that I adore that you tell your son, "you are such a sweet boy". I am a childcare provider and lover of all kids and I want every parent to say words of encouragement just like that to their kids. It is far more important to point out what our kids do right then to point out any mistakes. I have seen it over and over that a kid who's parents are positive and kind like that have positive and kind kids. Way to go Mom and Dad!
I'm a slow learner, so I need to see things over and over...LOL.
I feel your pain! Here in the Las Vegas desert our temps last week were 110-115 for the entire week and gardening during that time is a real challenge!
I have a friend who lives in Henderson and I’m always checking the weather channel in her area. You guys only get about 10% humidity and your night time temps don’t drop all that much. Honestly don’t know how you do it
My favorite aspect of these overview videos is the very open stream of consciousness discussions between you and Aaron. It’s so real.
Hello Julie...
How are you doing?
Had to stop watching the video long enough to comment. You are talking about planting just for the sake of having a UA-cam channel..... What a blessing that you are able to grow food and pretty things. You keep some for your self BUT you also give away to friends, family and community. You touch more lives than you realize by just being you guys and doing your thing. Thank you for everything.
I would love❤ to have you guys as neighbors. Bickering would make me laugh every time so I would really enjoy it!😛🤗💜🤗
**By the way I am ok with the new camera!
Bottle brush in our area are so invasive, like every else that have seeds.
Hello Cami..
How are you doing today?
WOW - when you moved to the garden area.....so pretty and beautiful light. White shirt is pretty with all the green too. Laura what happened to your Garden Answer tee shirts?
Hello Kathy...
How are you doing today?
It’s so funny someone mentioned red … I’ve always felt like red in the garden is just screaming at you - the only red I have is a few Cannas. However, my husband LOVES red. He mentioned last year about why I never have any geraniums and how much he loves them but I’ve never been a fan because they’re red. But, I was watching one of your videos and noticed you using a salmon/coral colored geranium and so to Proven Winners I went. I placed my order in December thinking my husband would be thrilled that I finally used geraniums …
The other day he was complaining about not having more 4 O’Clocks in the garden to which I just scoffed and told him he had never even mentioned yet anything about all the geraniums this year.
He said, “they’re not red”… to which I replied, “are you kidding me” … “no, it’s just not as impressive,” he said. 🤦🏻♀️ He wants all the salvia red, geraniums red, tulips red, everything red 🥴
I’ve decided that I’m okay with not pleasing him in this way. 🤪
And got my grands those kids safe knives and they LOVE a working alongside mom in the kitchen with them! Worth it!
Pulled weeds all morning! Nice and cool here for now. Happy Wednesday!
Check the ice maker for level. When I was using a portable A/C, it needed be really level or it made a similar sound.
No worries you all. You picture comes in very clear. And your face isn’t orange. You all are so cute! I watch your video atleast once a day!
Thanks to Laura I've used Proven Winners for the first time this year in my northern Utah garden. I'm impressed! Thanks for all you do and for the inspiration. Like you we've been having some very hot weather and a severe drought, so I've been binge watching your fall and Christmas videos. 😎
Love the white shirt. It really looks pretty on you. You should do all your videos outside. It’s so beautiful 🌸 you thank us for watching but it’s you that we need to thank. Taking us with you is so much fun. We really appreciate that ♥️
Seriously, Laura, you need to watch last month’s videos of “you can’t eat the grass” and you would not want that for yourself! I worry about those two, they work almost 24/7, I sometimes worry about their kids, hoping they have help for them like you have!
I worry about them too! I want some of their viewers to go help them out for a day, like do a big blitz and help them get a bunch of projects done
I am becoming addicted to your videos but I really wish that they were date-stamped.
Too funny!! There are no ads in the videos...30 seconds later an ad plays!!! Always worth watching!
I would have nothing outside if we had 100 deg temps, I can barely stand the 90s. Which we had in June.
Laura: I'm not orange in real life.
Me: Laughing out loud.
I really love the brightness and vividness of this image. I noticed it immediately!
Really balanced from the white jacket not being blown out to the deeper greens in the background not too dark.
You didn't say what camera it was!
Skin tones look rich but not red or overly saturated.
I'm on a Samsung Note 10+ by the way...
$700 so often is incredible, glad that's over!
Oh and the new icemaker I also recommended is definitely not feeling well.
Grumbly tumbly
It is SO FUN to watch your gardens and property progress!! Thank you for filming it all for us, your people!!!
