To all our American friends and family - HAPPY Independence Day !!!!! LET FREEDOM RING!! Greetings from Perth Ontario Canada!!
Thank you, friendly treasured northern neighbor!
Thank you, Ted! Minnesotan here whose mother was born in Canada! I visited Thunder Bay when it was still Port Arthur/Fort William. Beautiful country!
Freedom? Rapidly disappearing here.
And happy belated Canada day to you too. We live right on the border in northern Minnesota and we get to celebrate with you on the first with the fireworks and you guys join us on the fourth 😊
@@andyrobinson339 Don't have a US Constitution to protect Canadians.
Nice to see Olivia in the background. Good luck with the new cows.
I got the feeling that perhaps Olivia is learning to film! Great news if that is so.
Your future cattle rancher.
Could be Olivia needs the extra cash with donations from UA-cam for University with having more exposure on the videos ? ? ?
Nice! Congrats on growing. Thank you for showing the goats again. Love seeing them and Olivia. What a beautiful young lady she is becoming.
I’ve been following you since 2017, don’t comment much but watch every episode. I live in New England- I would definitely buy beef from you because I know how thoughtful and well you take care of your livestock! Congratulations!
dont take the vaxx...stay off black.
Hi Al, just a thought about grounding and welding with bearings in between. When young I grew up among farms and helped out with general stuff, including welding repairs. As kids we were welding a repair to a bailer, grounded on the body and started welding at a few places that needed repair. The old man went very mad on us saying that we could cause the grounding through bearings to leave spurs which ultimately shorten bearing life. Ever since then grounded on the work piece directly. Love the new cattle.
Taking on the responsibility of beef cattle, goats, pigs and chickens is quite a task. Truly a farm in the making.
Make sure you can handle all this.
Good morning everyone .
Good morning 🌞🌄🌞🌄🌞🌄
Very nice to have more livestock . The meat will be so good. Olivia has grown, She is a beautiful young lady !She & Gina look so much alike, I LOVE YOU ALL !!!! 🥰🥰🥰
You should ground your welder on the piece you are welding to prevent the current travelling through the bearings on the shaft and possibly arcing and pitting the bearings. @21:45
It helps if you put the ground clamp close as possible to your weld point and avoid welding through bearings gears and chains
Brutus is getting so big! He is absolutely precious! 🥰😎
He is growing fast!
Happy 4th of July, everyone. God Bless America! Our Independence Day!
Awesome I like the names!!! So sorry about George !! Hope all the animals are doing good, Brutus gets more pal's all the time!! Stay blessed all!!
Hi Al,Gina,Olivia,Brutus. That was a busy two days & the new girls look wonderful well done with that buy.
All the animals look so happy & Brutus is getting so many new friends. Take care happy family.
Al, such a fun video to watch. Love seeing them adjust to their new digs. Awesome!
You ran your welder ground through the bearings of the flail rotator. Connect the ground directly to the rotator so you don't possibly cause an arc in the bearings which will cause them to fail later.
Show more of the piglets, they're the cutest! 🐖🐖❤
We clean the inside of our side by side by parking it outside, open the doors, and blow it out.😊. I like the new cows and Brutus is so cute.😊🐾🐾❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Thank you for bringing such great videos! You show folks the real deal for homesteaders, and it goes down to nuts and bolts! amazing!!!
Good morning. Love your show. When welding on equipment, you need get ground close to your welding and not going thru bearing or bushings
Good morning Lumnahs! Nice to see the newcomers to the herd!
You have given a lot of thought into this new adventure. It all sounds wonderful. I sure can see myself chomping down on a Lumnah burger some day. 👍
Al, I love your videos. I’m 84 years old and just think you’re interesting. Thank you, again
Great things are happening,Brutus is right their in the mix,it's excited to see the cows😊🌼🌷🌻🇺🇸
Brutus is such a great dog.
Al when you attached the ground on your mower you sent current thru the bearings of the drum, you should of attached the ground to the drum it's self
Good observation and point. With the electrical ground going through bearings, it can damage the balls in the bearing or the race if there is any arcing. Arcing could cause a pit or slight bump on the bearing surfaces and reduce the life of the bearing.
Just a tip, you need to disconnect the battery on any vehicle, equipment, ECT before welding on them or you can mess up or fry the computer!!!! Hope you remember that in the future good luck!!!!
Good morning Lumnah Acres. Beautiful cows. Brutus will need to show them the lay of the land!
Livies is growing SO FAST! OMG! Glad you got a couple ladies. Love the names. Half 'n' Half and Black Beauty. Great stuff! Blessings!
Love the names ❤of your new girls!! Congratulations on moving forward with your family business. God's blessings on each of you.
Good morning Al and Gina! Always something going on at Lumnah Acres! Wishing you great success on the cattle. Hugs from N.C..❤
Good morning, Marin!
@samvalentine3206 Good morning! Wishing you and your family a happy Fourth of July!🇺🇲🇺🇲 Hugs from N.C..❤️
Just a friendly tip, try to ground to parts you are welding. It can damage the bearings
How exciting for this next phase of cattle ranching. From the comfort of my arm chair, i have enjoyed the past couple of year's sorth of homestead builing. But it is good to see you be able to enjoy the fruit of your labors like the gravel trailer parking, the shop, the improved pature grass, and all the things.
Hook your ground welding lead on the moving part before welding. If you don't the bearing will be arched and pitted. Messing it up.
So sweet watching Miles and the goats enjoying treats together like a family.
Apologies for being pedantic but it's Myles.
Farmers are real jacks of all trades. If you don't know how to do something, you'll learn how. God bless the family farmers.
Guten Morgen zusammen liebe Grüße aus Germany 👋😊🙋♂️😁
Guten Morgen, Josef!
Hey Josef!
A very warm welcome from Gatwick wishing you all a pleasant day 🎉
Gooooooood Morning Gatwick
Good morning, Jim!
Hello there, Jim! From very damp Minnesota!
When welding consider to put the negative clamp on the hammer shaft directly to bypass the current go over bearings. It can hurt the bearings when current goes through.
You need some garlic blocks for the flys to keep away from the cows
I've been switching my beef herd from Angus to belted Galloway
🆒
Good morning! I thought maybe you were getting more cattle! Nice looking ladies. Congratulations on the new herd and your future meat business. Blessings, Texas Deb ❤
New adventure thumbs up!
Hillside root cellar soon? Maybe? So many projects and not enough time. Hope you find a new breeding bull soon too. R.I.P. George. 😢❤❤❤❤❤❤
Thank you. So many projects the list never ends. 😂
@@LumnahAcres - A list that has priorities that change, depending on whatever happens in the day to day workings of a farm!
@@samvalentine3206So true. I was raised across the road from a farm. Loved it and loved visiting and helping even when I grew up.
Have you looked at Abeedeen Angus they marble on grass as well. They are smaller and easy to handle not sure but I think they are a2a2
Have a great day to all in the Lumnah Universe
Greetings from rainy Dalian
Great extension for the farm
Gooooood Morning Gin
Greetings, Juergen! Hope the rain is welcome!
Hello, from Minnesota!
We were thrilled to hear about the new upcoming business of grass fed beef. The coffee is great and we know the beef will be too. Watching and waiting... 🙂 Happy Independence Day Lumnahs!!!
They are longing for the higher grass outside the fence
I haven't seen y'all in a while. It's great to see y'all doing so well.
I am so glad to see animals, especially the goats!
I don't understand how that fencing will hold cattle in! After George, I would have used cattle panels( but I know I am not you!) 😊❤
Having more cattle with that fencing is worrying.
The Family Bull George fell over a Cliff; All Farmers, 100% all, know that to have Livestock they are also going to have dead-stock, cause livestock are not watched 24/7/365 like an infant child is !
The Livestock prefer having boundaries, ( even the Goats don't roam far ) it's a matter of keeping them supplied and happy, only when animals go into heat do they seek a mate, but even then the animal is somewhat confined, Al is lucky to not have neighbors with greener-grasses that entices !
The fence is fine, it is how Homesteaders farm, only Commercial Farming operations require zoo like confinement and they sacrifice for Quantity over Quality, homesteaders animals get ( by-far ) better treatment, and better ( by-far ) health care, because a commercial Farm will just kill the weak, to protect the proof base !
@4Classie in winter electric fence is not reliable where snow stays on the ground. I am sure works fine in the south but not where real winter visits.
@@79PoisonBreaker Many permaculture farmers have a winter area for the cattle. Joel Salatin has his cattle in a barn on deep bedding for the winter. Justin Rhodes does this too. That type of set-up might be coming to Lumnah Acres in the future. Have a great 4th of July weekend!
Happy 4th family. Love your videos. A very good start for my day. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
We just butchered are first beef on the farm we had a angus and jersey cross and it’s soooooo good! Growing all are meat ( minus seafood) on are farm now beef was the last one we needed! Best beef I ever had!
Have a farm stand that can also feature Hope soap, George jerky, Figaro fudge and Brutus brownies ❤️
🤣 🤣 🤣 Great product names! I especially like Brutus Brownies! I immediately thought of his 💩! 🤣 🤣 🤣 Leave it to me to think of having 💩 shaped brownies!! 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣
@@matthewgroff433 I have to admit I did too. Naturally.
But if so; who would buy the Moose ( Rooster ) or the CWC ( Crazy White Chicken ) but Maverick and Goose ( the Ducks that flew south ) would sell !

Things are looking 👀 amazing on your homestead Al and Gina 👍😮😊❤
Good Luck on the new animals. Pray they are a Blessing to You and Your Homestead. God Bless You and Your Family.
Happy 4th of July. Good luck with the new herd. God bless you.
Woot woot! 3am. A new Lumnah video
That’s early 😮 it’s 6am here in eastern Kentucky ❤
5am in Texas😊
Goooooooood Morning Happy Independence Day 💥
Good morning Olivia, Gina and Al
Soon as I saw them I took me right back 35 years when my first Cattle livestock arrived and were the same cattle I instantly named them Red & Sootsie. Your Highland Bull would have been a perfect match.
So so good to see Hope again!
Thank you for sharing!
Just a few acres is a great channel to follow, they have 30 or so Dexter cattle they raise and sell at a local market in NY State. Chicken and eggs too.
Pete and Hilarie are great people and as you said, a great channel to watch - family farming business for many generations!
He rebuilds old tractors during the winter months that is very interesting and worthwhile to watch. Very talented man.
I hope A and g build a winter pasture with hard fencing like just a few acres. JAFA is great .
Good Morning Al, Gina and Olivia! A UA-cam video popped up on my feed last night and my wife and I watched as you all made your planting plugs for seedlings. Olivia had the best handwriting so she labeled the trays! What sweet memories of a good wholesome family! Happy 4th of July and as always thanks for sharing!
I am so glad to see you greasing the zerks
Goooooood mooooorning AL, Gina and Olivia fellow viewers and all my friends Hoodie from Jamaica 🇯🇲. Awakening from the passage of the hurricane. Not sure what the damages are as yet, but am great and safe.
Good morning Lloyd! 👍🏾🤩🐶
Good morning, Lloyd - glad you're safe after Beryl came thru... the news says 7 folks lost their lives in Jamaica, was a Cat 5 hurricane as it thundered through. Stay well... prayers
So very good to hear that you are safe! You and the people of Jamaica are in my prayers. I was reminded by Evalina of the hurricane, bless her for her thoughtfulness!
Happy 4th Lumnahs! Congratulations on the growth of the homestead!
Great Day in the Evening !!! 😊😊😊
Such a great adventure!
Good morning Al , Gina and Olivia! The Cattle are beautiful! Happy 4th of July to everybody!🎉🎊🎇🎆
Keep up the good work Al & Gina!
*Good Morning Al, Gina, Olivia, Brutus and all of the family too.
Good to see the new acquisitions and all of the activity occurring on the Lumnah Acres Homestead.
Word of caution.... Consider that, when you're welding on a piece of machinery, make sure that you place the ground clamp directly onto the piece you're welding. The way you connected the ground lead (to the frame), the current for welding, had to flow through the bearings and that's not good. Having the welding current flowing through a bearing can cause premature failure, due to the potential for arcing at each contact point (metal to metal) throughout the entire bearing, which would not be a good thing.
Congrats!! So very happy for you guys. Can't wait to watch the progress.
Great video as usual, just a heads up, make sure that you use a grade 8 bolt on the hammer knifes. Otherwise you will be replacing them again 😊😊😊😊
Good morning guys! How exciting congrats!
Happy birthday America. God bless America, and may God bless the Lumnah family. Your homestead is really coming to life. Cheers from California.

Gooood morning everyone, from David in Omaha. The hidden garden is looking good. Brutus is turning out to be a good investment. I am eagerly awaiting to see what the new livestock are. Maybe some Longhorn cattle? We will see very soon. I pray everyone is healthy and doing well. Cheers!

Enjoyed the video. Thanks for sharing
Can't wait to see them all in the new pasture.
I can't wait to order beef. If you are raising it I'm sure it will be the best in NH.
Your fencing needs to be more permanent for these larger animals.
You would think he learned from the last disaster.
How fun for your new cattle. Boy, they are on an adventure!!!❤ God ☦️ bless you all and many prayers 🙏🏻 ❤️ Nurse Judi in Scottsdale AZ and E Minister 🙏🏻 ❤️ 🙌 ✨️ 💙
Gooood morning Lumnah's! What a wonderful addition to the homestead. Great to see Hope(y) again! Wishing a wonderful independence day to all 🎉🎉
Mornin from Rhode Island. Cool new livestock. They look so different without their cool horns.
Good morning Lumnah family 💜
Happy 4th of July to all our American friends from Otterville Ontario Canada!
It’s a good idea keeping those old hammers to use as an emergency OR if all the current hammers on your flail are fairly worn by adding a brand new 1 or 2 it will again throw the balance off because the new ones weigh more (still better than a missing hammer !) and thanks again AL for showing the behind the scene stuff not just the glamorous part of homesteading
Happy Fourth! It was nice seeing your daughter make a cameo appearance. I remember her counting eggs with you. Have a fun, safe weekend.
You need to get a toolbox for the back of that thing that you can put some of that stuff in and not put it in the cab
I love their names! Happy fourth❤
Need better fencing and a solid corral to work cattle pvc post and tee post not strong enough with out wood post corners and some in the straight fence
Whole new dimension with cattle over Goats and Pigs. If Bulls are in the mix........
Fence, gates, posts everything needs to be real heavy duty for cattle. Especially if a live bull in the area. I hope they do not learn the hard way .
Homesteader Farming is not Commercial Cattle Farming, So it's a compromise of somewhere in between, George the Bull fell off a cliff, and to farm is to have Livestock and that always has Dead Stock, no matter the operation !
@@4Classiebetter fence would had kept him safe and alive
Congratulations!!!
