If, however, you're looking for a new name for it, what about the Glass Greenhouse? Since you're cold frame will become a greenhouse, it would differentiate it. Love, love love all your videos on both channels!
May I offer some praise and suggestions - Laura and Aaron, I watched for a short while before becoming a subscriber and have loved being part of the evolving maturity showcased in each successive video. I love your friendliness and respect your honesty…“sometimes things just happen” in our gardens. Thanks for who you are and for keeping it real. New property name could be something to do with expanding horizons and/or your loving desire to inspire and to share the bounty. The name of “The Hartley” could become a tribute to one of your favorite English towns or gardeners…how about the name of the village where you first toured the Hartley facilities? However, I personally love calling it THE Hartley as the acknowledgment of a dream you both worked hard to see become a reality. Blessings to you and your families.

Thank you so much for putting all the clips when she talks about past events even though I've been watching that long it's really fun to look back while she's talking
Do they still have clearance plants these couple growing seasons? I was thinking with the gardening bug that bit most everyone there wouldn’t be anything left to clearance out. That’s the one thing I miss most about not going out these past two growing seasons.
@@Wazupu There’s plenty at my local Lowe’s and Home Depot. They don’t take care of the plants as well as they should. No bargains to be found at the nurseries, though, and the prices keep rising. Sometimes its worth it for a perfect healthy plant.
You are so animated and sassy on this highlights video. You are so cute and Aaron catches your enthusiasm and he contributes more than usual. This was a delightful video. Thanks for all tat you do!!
It would be so cute to make Benjamin's garden Mr. McGregor's garden with cutouts of Beatrix Potter characters from her stories. Such a wonderful memory that would be for him.. 🐰
Ignore the people- call it “The Hartley” you’ve waited so long for this gem (just like many people wait for “The Chanel”) perhaps call it “The Glass House” if you feel compelled to change. But seriously commenters take a chill pill.
Word of advice from a vet tech about the lilies, I would put the fence up to keep the cats away from them. All parts of lily plants are toxic and can be deadly to cats. Better to be safe than sorry.
@@LIQUIDFW I think they are toxic to dogs as well, just much worse for cats. I have all my lilies in my front yard for this reason. My dog and cats are allowed in my back yard but no where else.
@@wordsalad01 correct. A cat's liver cannot process the essential oils out of their body like ours. If you diffuse essential oils with cats it needs to be in a well ventilated room that they can also get out of.
it would be nice to see what Aaron's Mom does to the struggling plants! I LOVE a challenge and don't like dropping money constantly when I can propagate or revive things myself
It was absolutely brutal here, about 30 miles north of Portland. It hit 116 degrees at my house 🥵 A bunch of my plants are looking ROUGH Edit - It is The Hartley & will always be The Hartley 😉
Thanks for reading and considering my comment about the cats and lilies. The fence or barrier sounds like a great idea to keep the kitties safe. Maybe some repels all sprinkled around the base of the fence too while the lilies are in bloom.
Gardening with Creekside is the only other garden vlog I watch....Looking forward to see Jenny and Jerry working with you and Aaron on the green house project
As always enjoyed this recap. Call the Hartley that or whatever you are comfortable with and ignore the naysayers. Thanks for all your hard work and patience.
Well said. I completely agree. These recap videos where they’re both chiming in just feels like hanging out with some close friends and laughing together!
Why haven't we seen any pictures of the Hartley for some time or gotten any updates ? Whatever happened to the beautiful waterfall stream put in by Brian and Greg? Please show pictures!! Did you plant the tricolor beech and the Carolina Sweetheart Eastern Redbud you showed pictures of ? If you did where are they planted in your garden and can you show their autumnal colors? I love to find any excuse to write or say autumnal!! You probably already have shown how to braid garlic but could you tell me where to find it. I love watching you harvest potatoes, garlic, leeks, and other root veggies. Also, squash, pumpkins and flowers. Enjoy your flower arranging and antiquing trips with you mother and sister. Maybe you could talk your Dad and Aaron's family into some future spots. Enjoy you and Aaron doing recaps together. Benjamin is so fun to watch and I like how he goes right for the strawberries, he'll have to show Samantha where to find them and all the cool places in the garden like his teepee covered with peas or was it beans. He might have to keep some of the strawberry locations for himself. 😊😄🤩
I loved staying home with my kids when they were babies too. Makes it more enjoyable when they are a little more understanding of manners & sociial behaviors in public restaurants and such. Enjoy the hometime with them.🙂
Hey Laura & Aaron from Laura in Smiths Falls, Ontario Canada! I LOVE your channel, & just wanted to tell you how wonderful it is to be taken along on all your projects & adventures. I feel like I'm part of your wonderful family! I share your channel & include tips you share with my horticultural society. Keep up the great work! All the best. ❤️
I bet on one of your nightly walks or at some point this summer Benjamin is going to say “hey look what I found” and it will be the missing memory card.
My favorite video this week was the butterfly garden complete with pallet fence. Darling! Is it too soon to make for my 9-month old grandson LOL Looking forward to a video with Lauren/Aaron and Jenny/Jerry from Creekside. Sign me up for a front row seat :)
My friend was obsessing over the Cleopatra canna you featured as a next year release and she found it at Brian’s Botanicals in Kentucky…you just never know where your unicorn plant will pop up
Call it the Hartley. It is one, and you should be proud of the fact you have one. The House and The Estate is how we refer to our sections of property and we were blasted by someone for saying "Estate". It is, though, it supports many people's lives including ours.
Don't EVER stop you monthly garden tours. Those are my favorite! You describe and show off your gardens so well. You give me knowledge and inspiration to help me be a better gardener. love that the tours run so long, I could watch you for hours.
Thank you for the update on the pear espalier! It doesn't seem to make it into any of the big tours since it's so out of the way. I hope the birds leave you some pears, but you certainly have enough to share with them. The entire bed is beautiful; your own little secret garden. ~ Lisa
The Hartley name is perfect…we know exactly what you are talking about, same with the new property !!!!!!!! This is their property and this is the verbiage that they use.
This 2nd channel is the highlight of my week. I feel like I’ve learned so much more with these weekly Q&A about you and Aaron. It’s so very endearing….never stop!
Oh my goodness, "delicious beans" you'll remember that forever. When my youngest was 2, he was begging for "tire swings" on his pizza. It took us FOREVER to figure out he wanted sliced olives. He's now 23 and it's one of our favorite memories from the days of little. ❤️
20 min mark... It's coincidental that you are commenting how you are not trying to teach but rather have a conversation with us. Earlier this week I was watching a bunch of gardening UA-cam channels and I realized why I like your channel so much. We are just visiting with you and enjoying your garden and your process and learning along the way. There isn't any "How to...." or "12 things for better tomatoes" and so on Watching you is just visiting with a friend.🙂
I just love your recap videos so much! The discussions you all have throughout them is my favorite. Feels like sitting around chatting with friends. There are usually a few hilarious things in each to laugh at too! Happy July 4th!
You are doing a great job....priorities change when you are a Mom . Don't ever apologize for some things not being a priority . Family first.....and I'm sorry (not) it's a Hartley, not a handbag and we are all excited for you and for us. I've learned so much this past year and people have commented on my garden and how good it's looking. I learned it's ok to make a change and mistakes. it's all from the inspiration, the knowledge and the realness from you. I also appreciate that you never try to sell a sponsored video...sort of tired of that. Getting long winded, but I just love you and your family, So genuine!
I cannot imagine the person that would "not like" any of your videos! It's always pleasurable to watch you. It's hard to believe you ever struggled with making videos, you seem like such a natural.
Me too! I’ve been watching since they moved in- and I still get mixed up at exactly where areas of her gardens are located on the property… so I enjoy the tours to be able to see how they’ve matured or if she’s changed any flowers at all.
I say this every week, but I just love these recaps! It’s so fun to hear you both chatting and especially conversing off topic. I’m excited for the upcoming projects you mentioned, like Creekside nursery possibly coming to heat your coldframe or the window design you’re scheming up for Andrews, so much to look forward to!

I agree with you but for the sake of all the nice, kind Karens... We got to stop using this word. It's so unfair.
Recaps are my favorite
Thank you so much for putting all the clips when she talks about past events even though I've been watching that long it's really fun to look back while she's talking
“I want delicious beans!” Too cute
GARDEN CENTER WINDOW DISPLAY???? EMMMM YES? PLEASE? LIKE...YES!
I admit to being a sucker for the clearance rack at Lowe’s.
I have found great Proven Winners plants on clearance at Lowes. A few weeks ago I found amazing daisy banana cream for half price.
@@jgwood10 Excellent! A lot depends on the plant type. Tough plants like roses and hydrangeas can be revived. I don’t bother with annuals.
@@willaerley7140 I'm buying alot of high priced perennial at my nursery for $1.00 apiece.and annuals for .25 a six pack.
Except Ms McGregor put bunnies in a pie.
You go, IRON MAN!
Ignore the people- call it “The Hartley” you’ve waited so long for this gem (just like many people wait for “The Chanel”) perhaps call it “The Glass House” if you feel compelled to change. But seriously commenters take a chill pill.
Call your anything, anything you want. Dont listen to people like that.
Husband/Wife banter is great!
LOVE you referring to the greenhouse as “the Hartley”!
The Hartley is the Hartley....call it what it is. Own it, be proud of it and do you ♡
Laura I’m sorry I love love you facial expressions! Lol
Word of advice from a vet tech about the lilies, I would put the fence up to keep the cats away from them. All parts of lily plants are toxic and can be deadly to cats. Better to be safe than sorry.
this is scary, had no idea! does the same apply to dogs?
@@LIQUIDFW I think they are toxic to dogs as well, just much worse for cats. I have all my lilies in my front yard for this reason. My dog and cats are allowed in my back yard but no where else.
@@mindeewesley3737 thank you so much for the info!
@@wordsalad01 correct. A cat's liver cannot process the essential oils out of their body like ours. If you diffuse essential oils with cats it needs to be in a well ventilated room that they can also get out of.
@@mindeewesley3737 interesting. Never heard of this. I don't have cats or use pils but good to know!
Tours are just special ! It's amazing every time no matter the state of the garden.
it would be nice to see what Aaron's Mom does to the struggling plants! I LOVE a challenge and don't like dropping money constantly when I can propagate or revive things myself
It was absolutely brutal here, about 30 miles north of Portland. It hit 116 degrees at my house 🥵 A bunch of my plants are looking ROUGH
Edit - It is The Hartley & will always be The Hartley 😉
I think I’ll always call it the Hartley. That’s what it is. Lol
Thanks for reading and considering my comment about the cats and lilies. The fence or barrier sounds like a great idea to keep the kitties safe. Maybe some repels all sprinkled around the base of the fence too while the lilies are in bloom.
Thank you for sharing that info. I had no clue.
It appears that even a transfer of pollen from your hands can cause a problem?
Any asiatic Lily pollen exposure at all can be deadly to cats. Better to not have them in your garden at all.
Gardening with Creekside is the only other garden vlog I watch....Looking forward to see Jenny and Jerry working with you and Aaron on the green house project
I totally missed that! Could you tell me when this is talked about
Absolutely love that you did not edit out the “fly scene”!😂👏🏾
"Well who wants to do that mid season??" 😆 What a mood.
As always enjoyed this recap. Call the Hartley that or whatever you are comfortable with and ignore the naysayers. Thanks for all your hard work and patience.
Oh my gosh!!! You are so adorable!! 🥰🥰 I just love how candid you are! I'm addicted to your videos!! 😆 Thanks for being vulnerable with us!!
Never stop calling it “The Hartley”! It will be a thing of beauty and is one of your bucket list items! Love it in ALL of its glory 🥰
This is YOUR channel..... you call it whatever you want !!!!!!!!
I might call her..." My Hartly" 🌹
it's wonderful to to see you both love it. And I bet the children will love it too. Be 🙌 blesses
I was one of the people saying the whee hosta was living up to its name😂I’m glad Aaron got a laugh out of it
Lol!!! It’s the party, good time hosta
I bought a whee hosta .. I love it!
My favorite video this week was the butterfly garden complete with pallet fence. Darling! Is it too soon to make for my 9-month old grandson LOL
Looking forward to a video with Lauren/Aaron and Jenny/Jerry from Creekside.
Why can't you always call it "the Hartley" ? Who cares what you call it?
Always enjoy the Laura and Aaron show. Love it.
Thank you for the update on the pear espalier! It doesn't seem to make it into any of the big tours since it's so out of the way. I hope the birds leave you some pears, but you certainly have enough to share with them. The entire bed is beautiful; your own little secret garden. ~ Lisa
The pear espalier might be really pretty on the new property with the other fruit trees.
Why have I never heard the "Jingling" sound from her mic? I'm too entranced in the videos I guess 😅
Same!!!
I definitely heard it in a few videos. I thought it sounded like metal bangle bracelets clanging around. I was listening through headphones though.
The highlights with the back and forth between you two is my favorite part of the week!!
Wow the picture quality on this video is EXCELLENT!! It's pin sharp!!
Calling it the Hartley seems more like how I hear people referring to their Birkin- it's always called the Birkin 😂 I love it.
The Hartley name is perfect…we know exactly what you are talking about, same with the new property !!!!!!!! This is their property and this is the verbiage that they use.
OMG!
You two just crack me up.
Thank you for yet another enjoyable video. Happy 4th of July coming up.
This 2nd channel is the highlight of my week. I feel like I’ve learned so much more with these weekly Q&A about you and Aaron. It’s so very endearing….never stop!
Thank you for taking the lily/kitty issue seriously :-) Love your videos.
I love when you call it the Hartley!!!!
Oh my goodness, "delicious beans" you'll remember that forever. When my youngest was 2, he was begging for "tire swings" on his pizza. It took us FOREVER to figure out he wanted sliced olives. He's now 23 and it's one of our favorite memories from the days of little. ❤️
There are so many Winney people in this world, If she wants to say HARTLEY it's ok, get a life, people. Great videos you two.
Totally agree!
Instead of "the Hartley" , it can be called "my/our Hartley ". A dream come true!!😁❤
Be oh so proud of that Hartley and keep calling it the Hartley. It is what it is!!
It’s The Hartley!
I love comparing the garden tours - same month but different years.
Great idea - the misting system, cold treats, especially Benjamin helping out feeding the chicken frozen berries 🐔
I like that you call it that because that's what it is a Hartley and you are blessed to have one because you bless us.
