You should call it the “Harvest Garden” since you plant to harvest flowers and food!
Love this!
Love it!!!!
I love this!
I love this!
Right! And it doesn't matter how big the harvest is and where it goes)
RUSSELL KNOWS he has a fan base to satisfy, he's determine to let you guys know! lol
Perhaps there should be Russell and Cheddar Merch
I love Russell and I don’t even like cats!
@@encouraginghope7657 I'm there!
Exactly! 🧡
I hope this gets top comment. 😊
We are snowbirds and when we travel home to Washington we always stop in Andrews. Funny story this year I asked a gentleman if he was Laura’s father. He said “yes, to you watch her little show.”? Um YES and I wanted to say it’s not little.lol
This is hilarious. They have more viewers than many cable shows! Funny.
My husband works in the store at Andrew's and daily he gets asked if he is her Dad.... LoL!!
@@nickigary836 he might need a t-shirt and on front it says.... Not Laura’s Dad. 😂...Funny
Lol🥰
@@portlandval55 He loved that idea!!!🤣
I just love Aaron’s more frequent interactions. You guys are a beautiful example of how the unity of marriage should work. Thank you for sharing a part of your sweet life with us. 💝🌺🌿🌳
Laura, I love your how to videos on making snowflakes, centerpieces, wreaths, decorating trees and porches, and cooking meals, church the best. They're phenomenal. You are one very creative and talented gal. I made two wreaths and decorated a fake tree for the first time because of you. I was pleased. You are inspirational. Your family and extended family are wonderful.. I have one problem. I'm too far away from your parents garden and gift center. Thanks for being you ❤️
I’m convinced Russel is actually a human child masquerading as a cat and he’s fooling us all.
he's not fooling anyone!
100%!! Russel is the best cat ever 🥰

I think he is a familiar.
Aaron: Let's try and get our hands on a thousand atlast roses.
Laura's face.... 😂
Her expression was priceless 😂😂
can't fault his enthusiasm...great idea - logistics may be more difficult :) glenda - you go Aaron ...
I love Aaron’s new way of thinking 🤔!
GO
BIG!
Too funny....Epic wife face!! Haha 😄
Listen, I know you feel bad about Mollie, but DON'T! Dogs don't work for everyone! You did the right, responsible thing! She's well-loved where she is. XOXO Heidi
I get such a kick out of these videos because I enjoy hearing the two of you chat back and forth. It tickles me! “Are you proud of that title?” Hahaha!!!
Don’t quit talking, I enjoy the discussions you have amongst each other. 😊
Keep "the cutting garden". That's what you called it and in 20 years you'll always remember how it started. Too much is being erased in our lives. And, please don't quit chatting in between. That's just as educational and scads of fun.
Yes! You cut flowers AND food. Wonderful memory to have and it's very sweet to keep.
Not a cutting garden. Not if she plants onions and veggies as much as flowers. Probably more
@@dppeterson05 you don't cut potatoes, onions, etc. Not a cut garden
I like the name " cut garden" it reminds me of pregnant Laura planting franticly in the vast open space, and then the beautiful flowers it produced, and her happines afterwards..to me it will always be the cut flower garden
It’s been “the cut flower garden” for over a year. Keep it “the cut flower garden”. Otherwise 3 years from now you’re still going to be answering questions like “what happened to “the cut flower garden” or “is that the same space you used to call the cut flower garden?” Sort of like “where’s your dog Molly?” (Btw, good come back on that one😂)
Got such a chuckle when Russell plopped his tukuss down in such disappointment when you didn’t let him be front and center!
Russell giving the people what they want!
I love Aaron’s enthusiasm - “Think Big” 1000 orange roses, think of the grandeur 🧡 and can I also say I love the fact that you guys are honest and tell that you use and try multiple things including an occasional synthetic to let us know which you honestly recommend and we can truly believe you because of that!
Russell is the most adorable loving cat! He so loves to be with you.
Absolutely love y'all! Such great banter, please don't ever stop talking to one another on these videos...we'll just keep watching no matter how long they get😆😆😆😊😊😊!
I love calling the area "The Giving Garden". Even if you experiment with growing something, and it doesn't work, you are still "giving" by providing valuable instruction on why it didn't work and what you would do differently next time. Plus, you both give so generously of your knowledge, your time and your family. We are blessed.
The Giving Garden is fixing because you give food , plant, blubs , ect but Garden give love life and beautiful landscapes and teaching other.
Those were my thoughts exactly! Love the name! 💝💖💕
I think it could be "The Giving Garden" in so many ways. You plant and give the items is one way but even letting some groups 'give' you their time to help with this garden area is another way, like special needs group homes teach their residents to care for plants. I know of one group that does this in Wisconsin, Shepherd's College, is an example of a group that works with plants. Teaching others is another form of giving, so partnering with any horticulture group or school. It is your area to name, I get that point.
@@lmcburney This is a Private Home, not a College. (Great idea for community land) They have small children to raise.
In this day and age.... strangers coming and going to their yard is not Safe. There are many 'Nuts' out there.
👋👋
Blooms and Harvest Garden. No matter what you call the new Garden space it will be just as beautiful as the rest of your garden. I am striving to have my yard look like yours and watch your videos over and over again. Now my husband says * can you add some Salvia like Laura has in her yard?"
The Grateful Garden? Grateful to have both food and flowers to give and to be able to try other projects and really grateful when those projects succeed!😻😻😻 That said, I'm a percentage person, so if 80-90 percent of the time or space is for Giving and 10-20 percent for other stuff, then Giving is a Good Name😊.
Honestly, I think it's rude when people ask what you financially spend. Not to mention, the caliber of what you plant in volume is vastly different than the majority of us.
I don't understand why they want to know everything, I think she share enough information already, I watch her harvest Garlic, and here I am a month from harvesting my own,
They're trying to compare budgets to see if they can do what she does.
@@bethkrager6529 yeah, I think so too but anyone that follows this channel has got to know their budget is so far out of the reach to 90%
of us, please everybody just enjoy, be inspired 🥰
I think some people are trying to remove the taboo of finance by taking more about money.
Wow. Nothing is expected to be private anymore.
What you spend is none of our business! The “ Giving Garden “ works not only giving to others but gardens themselves gives to us all the time whether it’s food or flowers. The giving garden works all around irregardless of what it’s for or what you do.
This is what I was thinking too. Even if you have a failed crop it’s giving you experience. Nobody in their right mind would call you selfish for experimenting.
I love the Giving Garden name!
@@Flanuora And it provides a wonderful area for birds and insects.
@@Flanuora You forget there are a lot of "not right minded" people on the internet.
i really think you have the best audio and video. everything about this channel makes it my favorite. one thing i was wondering, is there any way you could do more videos with the camera that you can rotate. i really like the video you did with Benjamin at the cut flower garden, ive watched that video multiple times and i feel like im hanging out with my friends who are passionate about gardening and strawberries :)
I think "The Harvest Garden" would be a nice new name for the cut flower garden. That way it encompasses all the food and flowers you'll collect from it.
Listen to Aaron talking flower colors & plant types...oh how he has grown! :)
Have always loved the recap videos, but ever since Aaron has miked up they are so much fun! I love the two of you bantering back and forth, discussing things, and sometimes going completely off topic into an entirely different subject! 😘
The bantering back and forth was the highlight of the show, Aaron knows what is going on and how to manage it-from cameras to fertilizer to roses he's a can-do kind of guy! I am glad he has found his voice ‼️
You can call the new space the Giving Garden.....because you are giving away inspiration, knowledge, AND the physical harvest. So if you have an experimental year, you give more on the info, inspiration than the produce. Its amazing how much you give. I wish I lived closer! (I'm in Meridian)
Call it the Giving Garden🥰🥰🌼🌼🌼
I vote for The Giving Garden. If your not giving flowers, fruit or vegetables you’re giving all of us the joy of the space and watching you enjoying it.
The "Giving Garden" is a perfect name. Simply because it gives. It gives food, it gives flowers, it gives knowledge (via your videos), and gives joy. It gives on more than one level :)
Watching the 'highlights' videos make me feel like I'm actually sitting in the sunroom with you, eating a nice dark chocolate fudge brownie and sipping on a glass of sweet tea while talking through the business of the day. You both are so relaxed and it's fun being a part of your extended UA-cam family.
Giving Garden will always work no matter if you physically hand over produce or flowers. The joy, beauty and knowledge you have and give will always be its legacy .
If you call it the "Giving Garden", I'm sure there will always be something you have to give away, so the name would still describe the garden. I love the name and the fact that you two are so giving of many things like your produce, plants, flowers, time, building and landscaping materials. It's perfect!
You could call the big garden the “west garden” or whatever direction it is from your house. You could rename Versailles the Veranda garden, since it’s outside of your veranda.
Great ideas Karly!!!
Oh veranda garden sounds nice!
Love Veranda Garden! 👍
Russell is so sweet! He is such a cuddly kitty! I love it when he is in the show trying to help.
I think the "giving garden" fits perfectly with what you're accomplishing. It doesn't only give back to the community but gives back to you and gives back to nature.
If it’s your “Hope” for that garden why not call it the “Hope Garden” 😊🤷🏻♀️🥰
Is Russell a bit of a drama king?! 😂
Yes he is.
It was a-do-ra-ble!
Always!
I need a Russell in my life! 😻
My suggestion, get the Four Seasons statues for this area and name it The Four Seasons Garden.
or since one broke, put out the 3 and call it the 3 seasons garden 😬
Good suggestion, especially if you incorporate succession planting.
The Giving Garden is the perfect name. It doesn't mean you give everything away because it also gives to you and your family. Even if you are trying out new plants it is giving you knowledge. PERFECT!
PLEASE CALL IT THE GIVING GARDEN, ITS GIVING SO MUCH JOY TO ALL OF US AS WELL TO WATCH ALL THE BEAUTY THAT COMES FROM IT, IT GIVES JOY,HAPPINESS,AND MANY SMILES..SO GIVING GARDEN IS PERFECT❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
A Giving Garden doesn't have to mean giving away stuff. To me it could also mean Giving back to you and the joy it gives you and your hard work.
I love that you call it the cut flower garden because I remember back when you talked about a cut flower garden being on your wish list. It's so wonderful to see that transition from a dream to a goal attained. And I remember that every time you call it the cut flower garden. ❤
The giving garden doesn't have to be just about giving food and flowers. It gives you content, it gives us entertainment and education and gives you joy.
Laura, I felt led to pray for you before I went to bed tonight. I asked Father to continue to bless and protect you and Aaron, and the kids.
You are such a blessing to me.
I have been so ill since 2016.
I started to push myself to plant up some containers like your style around my home..and after being so inspired by your garden..I pushed myself to plant more shrubs.
I have learned so much from you through the months...and learning plants and potting from you...has been so wonderful for me..and my health!
Now, this year... I have planted a small raised vegetable bed in our backyard with my husband's help.. I'm just thrilled at my "little garden" to take care of.. gleaning so many good tips for growing veggies from you.
It is so theraputic and rewarding to garden.
Thank you for all you do..and for sharing your life and family with us.
Much love and Shalom to you..Your sister in Christ, Elizabeth.
Excuse me ma’am, excuse me, Russell here 🤣🤣🤣🤣 Russell wants his own video! ( that would be fun, Laura)
😂😂😂 Russell can do the Kitty cam! A peak of the garden from the feline perspective 😂😂😻
He's using his cat-top.. I mean laptop!
“Cut Flower Garden” is okay for now. It’s fun. You don’t know what the future may bring. How would u get back from the ‘Giving Garden’ if things change or a different and lucrative business idea comes along. I say keep the names of your places. We love them, recognise them by name and know exactly where and what u are taking about when u mention them, don’t we guys?
And please Versailles name alone. We love it, name and all and even if it isn’t deemed by some as being on the level of the real Versailles, it’s yours and we love it!🌺🌸🏵❤️
Agree!!!
I agree as well!
It is amazing how far you all have come in such a short time. Your video's are edited so well and also so interesting. Both of you are so real and make us feel like we are there , sitting in your special spot, having coffee with you. Thanks for all your hard work. You have taught me so much. BTW, I love the name "the harvest garden."
I was surprised that Russell chose to be elsewhere this time! He usually sits staring at Laura adoringly, getting in snuggles and scritches where he can. He and Cheddar are so adorable, and very obviously happy and loved.
I LOVE your recap videos...I always feel like I've been a welcomed guest and have had a lovely visit with an adorable couple that have amazing vision. It has been such a pleasure having Aaron's increased conversation, and is a joy to watch as you dream, imagine, and bring projects to fruition together. It just always feels like quality time with special people, and I am so thankful that you share your lives, your knowledge, and your family with us. You have inspired me, and helped me make my tiny (by comparison) yard a happy place full of pollinators, ladybugs, and hummingbirds! Thanks so much!!
HUG THAT KITTY!! So sweet!!!
'Giving Garden' is perfect name. Not only giving produce, flowers but knowledge, ideas and a vision we can join you on.
"GIVING GARDEN " is a great name, no matter its use. It gives joy, beauty, videos, food, flowers, employment and it will give you and your family memories. 🌸🌿🌸
I love calling it the "Giving Garden"!!!! Even if you only grow flowers. You did that wonderful donation last year with the beautiful bouquets that brought so much joy to those that received one.
Russel is just the best cat I ever seen🤣
Russell needs his own episode. 😼
I think one of my favourite part of your videos is the banter between yourself and Aaron. It is the cutest thing.
I love the name, Giving Garden. It works for all seasons and reasons. It can mean sharing, give it a try, gives people pleasure. Easy to say aloud and the alliteration is pleasing.
👋👋 Hello
Laura said she was hungry at the start of the video and the orange is still sitting there at the end unopened 😂
Haha I came here to say the same thing 😂
Boy! Just turn Aaron loose and he rolls! Haha Seriously would be fun to see him turned loose on one section.
Bountiful Garden?
I thought about “bountiful garden” as well. I looked up the definition and it would be perfect! 😊👍🏻
My first thought was bountiful too!
The Giving Garden is a great name. Regardless of what may happen with having food and flowers to give away, it is gardening, and we all know things happen. The name speaks to your heart, and that makes it special.
“ THINK BIG” I love that!! But more I love is Aaron is more involved in everything, you guys are the “Goal Team”
What about "The Family Garden "? That way whatever your family decides to do out there fits in with the name. Just an idea😊
Russell has to be the center of attention, lol ! Your face Ms Laura when Mr. Aaron was talking about the roses. Beautiful gardens Ms Laura, Mr. Aaron and team.
Giving can be defined in so many ways...You and Aaron are giving in what you do, Mother Earth is giving in that space and the plants are giving. It is the perfect name for that garden!
The name giving garden is a good name. Evening if you're testing plants, the garden is still giving to you and others by learning what works and what doesn't.
Thank you for making every morning bearable wit your videos you are literally the thing I most look forward too every single day you expand my imagination to levels I never knew I had you help me be brave in the garden I’ll always remember what you said in a recent video IF YOU DONT LIKE IT CHANGE IT! Love ya girl!
Ms Laura will you please pick out the questions for your next highlight video, you said you have a tendency to pick out more questions than Arron does. Sorry Arron but I feel so included in your family when your talking to us explaining things, so the longer the better for me anyways💚🙃
The "giving garden" would not only give flowers and food but also joy and fun for your family 🙂
Love “The Giving Garden” because even is you don’t donate anything physically on an off year, you are still “giving” knowledge, enjoyment, & peace to so many of us each and every day you post videos!
It's so great how you have managed to achieve your dream of doing a big garden and being able to give away some of the abundance 🙂
Plants have gotten so expensive this year a 4 in pot over 5$.
I bought when the nights were still in the 40s and the price was 25 to 50 percent of the $5 that came in the last 2 months. It was a sticker shock for me too! I'm going to try starting from seed to offset some of the costs.
Maybe one of the reasons that flowers are more expensive this growing season is because the freeze in TX ruined flowers & shrubs in nurseries there. TX is a big flower supplier.
I was shocked at prices too this year. I bought "clearance" plants when I could to literally save a few dollars in my flower pot arrangements.
Used the plant prices this year to experiment with perennial mix pots where we propagated the perennials or started them from seeds. So far it has been interesting.
👋👋
Hello
I absolutely love the term the Giving Garden. Keep in mind it has multiple meanings. Yes you're giving to others, but the garden is also giving to you in a multitude of ways, not only food and flowers, but education, challenges to overcome, and pride of accomplishment for example.
Call it the 'Healing Garden ' because your generosity of gifting edible plants and beautiful cut flowers to family, friends and the community is healing to their soul and nutritional healing for their body. It's healing for you because you are doing what you love and your mind just forgets all the stress and worries of life while your fingers touch the earth. Lastly this garden has given many people all over the world a little more knowledge from how to grow beautiful cut flowers, to how to grow delicious home grown fruit and vegetables. So that my friend is a gift of knowledge. Sharing with us your knowledge in gardening is very healing in more ways than one. Thank you so much😘🌷
I love Russell as a featured artists he's been quiet...
This was sooo fun to watch. My jaws are tired from laughing. Yes Aaron has a mic today. LOVE it.
I love the name 'giving garden'. Even if for a year you have nothing to give away, it's all about main purpose and intention.
In that spirit 'harvest garden' would work too.
“Harvest Garden” sounds quite perfect. You will be always be harvesting something or another from the area, no matter what the season.
You could call the big garden "The Back 40".
@Kate Francis I just looked that up. My parents used that term for our sloped, beyond the grass, back yard so dear to my heart. So now I know the origin and my heart is full from the memory! Thanks!
I work for a family that has 8 acres and we call a portion the back 40 😍
I love how much more relaxed you have become over the years. Laughing about the bio tone smell and squeaky chair just feels fun and natural. I also love how much more involved Aaron has become and the dynamic of you two!
The giving garden not only represents sharing with people it also represent the garden keeps giving to you, a win win situation.
It's always good to have your pets meet before adopting or buying a new pet!
Perhaps the Versailles Garden could be renamed the “Persephone Garden”? I seem to recall you previously mentioning that the statue is of Persephone. The cut garden could be simply the Front Garden and the back raised bed garden could be the Back Garden.
I think "Experimental Garden" sounds perfect. It can cover almost every activity in it, cut flowers, produce production, actual experiments and testing. It also sounds professional, like it would fit into a professionally maintained historical estate.
I am with you. Mentioned it in the video comments where she had been debating it. The problem is they are trying to group the whole new property under one term. They have the orchard (and eventually the shed or "staging area" in the orchard), front lawn, entry beds, etc. We ran into the same problem when we finished out our basement and there were specific areas instead of one big space.
That makes it sound scientific and sterile.
Lol my husband and I call our new kitchen garden “the vineyard garden” because our original intention was to have rows of grapevines. In the end we decided not to do that but couldn’t get the name out of our heads. We only have 4 grapevines in the space but it will probably always be the Vineyard 🤣 and a personal joke between us. Who cares if it fits perfectly, call it what you want. You shouldn’t feel pressured because you once had good intentions. If the garden gives once, it will always be a “giving” garden. All of those names sound great to me.
A suggestion that you change the name of the cut flower garden to The Sharing Garden. You love sharing your floral arrangements and your produce with your community, AND you share all your garden care knowledge/techniques with all of us. Yes LOVE Saturday mornings and cups of coffee to chill out after a long work week and catch up on new plants, ideas and your and Aaron’s chatter on the week.
Regardless, the new garden space will be a "Giving Garden". It gives YOU pleasure and life! It gives us ideas and inspiration. It'll always give you fruit from your trees. It gives you chances to trial things and learn. It'll give your children space to run and explore...
I vote for the Giving Garden. 🥰
Aaron, you are becoming so knowledgeable with everything! Love that you comment along with a lot of the comments/conversation. Maybe you/he should have an episode per week on what he accomplished called "Aaron's Spotlight" or something similar!
I like all the names. The Big Garden is straight forward and all encompassing.
The Cut Flower Garden makes sense as it was the original intention and you do grow a lot of flowers for cutting in that space.
You can also call it the Harvest Garden, as not only do you get flowers from it, but also lots of produce.
But I also like the Giving Garden. I don't think it would pigeon-hole you, as it can have a double meaning. When you originally suggested it, I didn't necessarily see it as meaning a garden for growing things to give away, rather that it's a garden that gives abundantly. It gave a lot last year, and will most probably continue giving as long as you plant it, whether that be flowers, or produce, or joy, or work, or flex space for experiments, whatever you will.
Naming it the giving garden not only means giving produce but also giving so much pleasure watching you plant so many wonderful and beautiful plants. Flowers and produce.
The Growing Garden. You said it “We just grow stuff there.” You have room to grow there, in knowledge and size and in what you can do for your community.
This was going to be my suggestion too. I was looking to see if it had been posed to them yet. 👍
I love when you say Versailles garden! I have seen Versailles and I think it’s a great name
The highlight videos are truly the highlight for me. I love all your videos, but listening to the two of you interacting with each other feels like I am sitting and chatting with friends. You are so sweet together.
The giving garden name can also mean that Mother Nature is giving back to you for all the loving you put into the earth.
I’m watching this video on my tv and my husband overheard Aaron’s comment on his canon camera. My husband recommends getting a Sony a6400 and using the lens Sigma 16mm f1.4. He says that with this lens, you don’t need stabilization because it’s a wide angle, and it looks great in any lighting. And if you get dirt in your lens, just get another lens without having to replace the camera.
I don’t know what all of that means, haha. But he says this lens would solve all the problems you described. Good luck!
Big garden name. Love “Giving Garden”. Even if it’s a ‘fail’ one year because of weather or experiment, the intention is still to give. Your experiment will just lead to more giving another year. Fun Garden is good too. But name doesn’t really matter. Your big kind heart and hard work stays the same.
Giving=pumpkins, joy, onions, happiness, squash, many things are given not just things that you can touch. Giving Garden is perfect
Giving Garden ties you into making the space for others and not a space for yourself, where you grow to give and that is a part of the joy for you. Keep the garden for your own joy and giving can always be a part of it.
I love the connection you two have! It’s hilarious that Aaron says “we should bye 1000” Laura suddenly snaps into a daydream/nightmare of how much effort that will take in planting! 👀🤔🤪💯👊do it!
👋
Hello 👋
The Giving Garden reminds me of the beloved Shel Silverstein book The Giving Tree.
I love calling it The Giving Garden. It will not only give produce but also joy and fun to your family.
Hi Laura and Aaron! I love the banter between you two in the recaps. Please don't stop! LOL! I like "The Giving Garden" because you are "giving" advice on what you plant and updating us on the struggles you may have. That sharing/giving is so helpful to many of us. Also, you give a lot of the crops to family, friends and the community. If you try something, and fail, you share what you think happened. Also, I'm sure there will always be a large part of the garden that you do share/give. "The Cutting Garden" is good, too, because that is what you call it, and I'm sure there will always be cut flowers out there. Thank you so much for sharing!
