No matter what they call it - be it the Black Dragon, the Emperor, the Smelting Black Dragon, The Blazing Black Dragon, the Wheel of Fate, the Snake King, the Halberd, The Corpse Dragon, The Pavilion Mantis, the Dark Light, the Storm Serpents, or the Archdemon of the Abyss - not only is it mortal, but it's going to look nice as a suit of armor.
This theme is iconic, it never gets old. Also, I love how it basically symbolises the Hunter slowly taking control of the fight. It starts off slow and almost quiet, but it ends up becoming incredibly powerful. At 3:17 you can hear an organ, Gaismagorm's theme, trying to take control once again but being absolutely overwhelmed by the trumpets and the main melody. This is *your* theme. YOU are the Hunter, and no matter how big or terrifying this "Archdemon of the Abyss" is... It *is* going down.
Got caught off-guard by that laser attack and two guys died in our first run, right after the theme kicked in too… Also, and I know I’m splitting hairs here again, the instrument used was not an organ, it’s a harpsichord.
This version feels less like a adrenaline rush cheat code and much more desperate but yet triumphant when you get to the main part of the song I feel like the final boss is gonna be no average Joe but something big since its going for a medieval Gothic England vibe i'd say now would be better time then any to add a black dragon since we haven't had one since tri
This is a long shot, but I'm having trouble thinking of what would be scarier in gothic horror than a Vampire or Werewolf, so hear me out. What if the final boss in Sunbreak is a Lovecraftian monster??? I mean it's basically the next step in romantic era horror and completely fitting for a final boss. Also this sort of bait and switch has already been done before in Bloodborne and it worked so well.
From our very first Velocidrome, to our first time Fighting Fatalis, it has all brought us to this moment. Rejoice Fellow Hunters! For we shall meet again, at Sunbreak…
According to the video, 3:22 is the most replayed part and rightfully so! This expansion is honestly freaking amazing and that final boss with this theme playing at the final phase was just simply sublime.
Monster Hunter started like this: _"Slay 10 Velociprey"_ And now it's going like this: *_"Kill a mf Elder Dragon whose only existence can already end human life within a second"_*
This particular version has a lot of meaning for me as a new fan (Rise is my first mainline MH). I expected this fight to go down in a similar way as Allmother, where it would become absolute bullet hell when Proof of a Hero played and I would probably not only cart, but completely fail a few times. But I didn't fail. Didn't even cart. I'm not sure if that's because Gaismagorm is easier, because I've gained a lot more experience, or I just paid more attention to my surroundings. But I wasn't afraid of failure anymore either. Instead of feeling afraid when Gaismagorm's theme faded out and the first notes of Proof of a Hero played, I felt determined. "I can do this. I will do this." Mind you, I'm actually somewhat cognitively impaired. I have piss poor reaction time and my brain can only hold a small bit of short term information at once (for example I can dodge or counter, but I can only focus on doing one at a time and can't adapt quickly, so I will either try to dodge everything or try to counter everything). So finishing base Rise and Sunbreak was a gigantic accomplishment for me. I'd avoided Monster Hunter for so long because it was just "too hard" and "too complicated," but Rise got me. I had nobody to tutor me, so I had to actively develop the muscle memory for the basic controls, since they were so different from anything else I had ever played. And I was afraid of every single new monster, especially the ones that were new specifically to Rise. "Is this going to be where I fail? What about here? Or here?" But I'm not afraid anymore. The last time I got really fearful of failing was against Allmother. My entire experience and outlook on Monster Hunter has changed. And I feel like this version of Proof of a Hero represents that, at least to me. Sorry for the essay. If you got to the end, thank you.

Ibushi rampage - you have your friends by your side, fighting this beast Narwa The Allmother - You wyvern ride Magna, Teo or Kushala to victory. I’ve been able to solo almost every challenge I’ve ever been faced with in Monster Hunter. However, demo Malzeno has completely changed that. I teamed up with 3 really close friends and we almost had him dead. While there is a certain comfort in solo hunting, crafting strategies on how to take out the vampiric damage sponge with people who I’ve known for years has been an unforgettable experience. I’ve had the most fun during our attempts at Dracula’s life than I have had in a long time. Sunbreak is going to be amazing and I’m so excited for the future of Monster Hunter.

Same here! I've been waiting to play MH with a friend for 8 years, and now that he started playing 3 days ago with Rise, I'm really excited to see the rest of his reactions
I know everyone seems to rave about the part at 3:25 and yea it's pretty great but i feel like 1:14 doesn't get enough love. It's just something about the chorus joining in at that part that I love, as if giving the feeling of the npc hunters actually joining to fight alongside you for once with the follower system that was implemented in sunbreak. That's just my impression tho.
I love this song. Though not because it makes me feel triumphant. But because it it making me feel like something is wrong. Like it is faking me out. And something much worse is about to appear.

Imagine if it’s advanced quest has it permanently in daemon mode lol
When I made it to this hunt, I was playing with a group of friends. We'd all gotten the game at launch to play together and all but one of us were new to Monster Hunter with Rise. We all got each other through to the archdemon and just from the name we knew that we'd need some prep. We went through and got the best weapons possible for each of us, grinded money so those of us who were less confident could upgrade our armor, and when we were ready, we all loaded up for the fight with our healing items, best buddy, the whole nine. None of us were prepared for how much of an absolute unit the boss would be, and the two of us playing insect glaive quickly discovered the struggles of trying to bounce across him. We had 3 faints about halfway through the fight thanks to dango insurance, running low on heals and stuff, then it started climbing while we didn't have the guns. Myself and the other insect glaive had the same instinct to jump and try to hit him off ourselves until we hit an invisible wall. Then Fiorayne launched herself at it and we were all hyped up. Then Proof of a Hero started playing and we knew we had to win. We were low on heals, but we were dodging better and just jamming out. And then we got the last hits on him, I forget who got the final blow and I don't think any of us really cared. We'd narrowly pulled a win out from a dire situation and it really felt like PoaH actually gave us a buff.
What are we!? HUNTERS! We do not yield! We do not surrender! Our weapons, our armor, our tools! They are created from our foes! We take their strength and make it our own! That is what a Hunter does! No surrender until... you get carted. But we do not get carted, do we!?
Hmmm, I absolutely love this version of PotH The expectation is too much for me Rise PotH wasn’t played when we beating Magnamalo. But when Magnamalo assisted us on Allmother With this gothic Malzeno-like version… imagine if he helped us facing on the final boss. Not only that, I also expect all the three lords came over so all 4 hunter able to Wyvern ride their own beating final boss (spoiler, the last monstie should be Magnamalo Variant)
The first part of proof of a hero here,is different telling that rise is a new game and wont live in worlds shadow (thing that some world widows cant accept) and the last part is more close to the original proof of a hero, telling that rise still a monster hunter game on its heart
I'm sorry but to me this is hands down the most incredible variation of the "Monster Hunter" theme, the slowdown the strings in the back, the thundering drums all come together to make probably the only theme in Monster Hunter that beats Jin'õga/ Jinouga/ Zinogre theme, it's unbeatable.
how to wake the raging fury of veteran hunter helping a new 5th gen hunter just give them a proof of a hero song and you will see them dodging all attack and take as little dmg as possible.
For those with sharp eyes, Gaismagorms eyes are shockingly similar to Shara Ishvaldas eyes. Could be a simple coincidence though, or a little reference

I wonder who is gonna be the final boss of Sunbreak
Apex nibelsnarf
Allmother Bombadgy
Apex great jaggi
Crimson Fatalis
-Greatest Jagras that dunked on Fatalis out of sheer salt of not getting in-
A samurai in the west... truly a time to be alive
Favourite version omg...
What are we!?
HUNTERS!
We do not yield! We do not surrender! Our weapons, our armor, our tools! They are created from our foes! We take their strength and make it our own! That is what a Hunter does!
No surrender until... you get carted. But we do not get carted, do we!?
I don't think theres ever been a song that I wished I could have cranked even HIGHER then Sunbreaks Proof of a Hero
No matter the size, the power, or the reputation a creature. Once this song plays you get +200% in every one of your attributes by default.
Hmmm, I absolutely love this version of PotH
The expectation is too much for me
Rise PotH wasn’t played when we beating Magnamalo. But when Magnamalo assisted us on Allmother
With this gothic Malzeno-like version… imagine if he helped us facing on the final boss. Not only that, I also expect all the three lords came over so all 4 hunter able to Wyvern ride their own beating final boss (spoiler, the last monstie should be Magnamalo Variant)
That's not spoiler. You're just speculating something. Also what the hell is PotH? Proof of the Hero? Lmao
from 2:15 to 3:55 is an absolute masterpiece
One word, MAGNIFICENT
ずっと聞いてたい
ワクワクする
1:38 my childhood
Most interesting mixup of the main theme we have seen so far, I think.
Can’t wait for wilds proof of a hero
You know this game is goated when it has not one but TWO Proof of Heroes
I don't care if you're a God, Immortal or the Embodiment of Darkness, I'm still going to kick your ass
This one should be called proof of a monster and the monster hears this version when they have us on the last cart
Evil capcom be like: false evidence of a villain
proof of a hero really gives you that boost of strength to push on even if you are out of whetstones or potions 👌
damn my favorite proof of hero so far.. feels more epic and colossal
The first part of proof of a hero here,is different telling that rise is a new game and wont live in worlds shadow (thing that some world widows cant accept) and the last part is more close to the original proof of a hero, telling that rise still a monster hunter game on its heart
I'm sorry but to me this is hands down the most incredible variation of the "Monster Hunter" theme, the slowdown the strings in the back, the thundering drums all come together to make probably the only theme in Monster Hunter that beats Jin'õga/ Jinouga/ Zinogre theme, it's unbeatable.
how to wake the raging fury of veteran hunter helping a new 5th gen hunter
just give them a proof of a hero song and you will see them dodging all attack and take as little dmg as possible.
This version always gives me goosebumps at 3:22. To me, THIS is the best version of PoaH.
There's my favorite song >:3
This version hits like you're fighting dracula.
More like fighting the devil
Gaismagorm: why do I hear boss music?
they made proof of a hero good
No, they made it BETTER
Sounds vampiric almost at points i love it
For those with sharp eyes, Gaismagorms eyes are shockingly similar to Shara Ishvaldas eyes. Could be a simple coincidence though, or a little reference
Nah not the same, ishvalda have more details
