1:33 to 2:00 is just incredible, quit fighting astalos and started dunking on rathian and aknosom the whole time just so I could hear this. Singlehandedly one of the best videogame tracks ever made.

as much as I like the flooded forest and sandy plains theme, I'm glad they went with a more faithful remake of the jungle theme for this.
I think it's because they had a japenese yokai theme which bled into the area themes but now it's just back to classic monster hunter which I really like.
@@jamieburn4577 nah, they could have kept the same melodies. and besides, the sandy plains theme in rise isn't even japanese themed, or asian themed for that matter.
this jungle theme is also an entirely culture from the original version, yet it's a more straight up remix.
I think it's simply because they wanted to make a new theme for the base rise maps, but they heard the criticism that fans wanted remixes of the old themes, and listened for sunbreak.
It's a shame the actual map looks nothing like the original version in Monster Hunter Freedom 2
@@unicorntomboy9736 well its a remake, not suppose to look exactly the same just like sandy plains, flooded forest. But some areas in the jungle are alike in the original.
@@xven8674 The small island with the ruins is way too close. I remember it being much further away in the original. In addition I don't remember being it having so many ruins on the map. None of the original Jungle had ruins aside from the aforementioned northern island
The original version from Monster Hunter Freedom 2 is infinitely better
Jungle theme was already one of the goats in my opinion and now they made it even better somehow.
The nostalgia overload when hunting rathian in this map was unreal...

For me it's kind of a step sideways. It would have absolutely been better than the original if they had kept the chanting in.
So glad they went with a remix more than a reboot of the theme, it is even more epic than the old one.
That's exactly why I don't like the new Sandy Plains theme as much as I did in Tri. The new themes for that and Flooded Forest are good, but I would have loved remixes in the style of Rise intead of what we got.
@@ATGoldV The flooded forest theme is a remixed version of the original at least. Sandy Plains may not be remixed, but I still enjoy it leagues more than the original so I'll take it anyways.

@@FrostyTheCookie I wouldn't quite call it a remix, but the first part of the theme does atleast contain a couple parts of the original theme, which is atleast more than you can say for sandy plains (though I like both new themes a lot too)

I think no map will ever top Ancient Forest for me. It's the best jungle Biome in any videogame. The Rise maps are nice, but they feel a bit too empty... A bit too much like video game arenas to fight in.
It feels strange having this theme and locale without Congalala, I always associated both things with him. Hopefully he's added; he'd fit right in Rise.
And I associate both with Seltas Queen, I sure hope she returns, and Seltas would have to return too for her fight
They still have more to show so that could mean a fanged beast trailer or something? They've shown a lot of flying wyverns

It's Congalala's map, and this theme is quite literally his theme (it's titled to him). I'd be shocked if the "apex" monster associated with the locale didn't come back, especially so since they kept the theme.
@@aqt4768 I've never seen the word Apex and Congalala in the same sentence before. I would love for him to return though same with Blangonga. I want the yeti baboon back
They made the jungle so epic and that's completely fine
Having played Generations Ultimate before Sunbreak, my mind was blown just how close in resemblance this Jungle map is to the old one, and made it work by turning what were once loading zones into tunnels or trails. However, they also kept it fresh by adding a few extra areas, notably the ancient arena underneath the small island/peninsula just offshore.
Jungle was one of my favorite maps, I remember slaying my first Yian Garuga first attempt without fainting.

They replaced the chants with a Duduk I believe, its an interesting choice for sure but I happen to really like it!

fun mh trivia, the chants were actually copies of the chants in the fire temple from ocarina of time, so most likely changed to avoid copyright. (this also somehow slipped udner nintendos radar for mhgu because the chants are also in GU
@@deefour2819 The chants from the Fire Temple was a stock sound. Nintendo wouldn't be able to sue even if they wanted to because they don't own it.

I do miss the more tribal vibe of the old version with the more prominent drums, but this more orchestral version is pretty damn good too
This new version sounds oddly grand, it sort of fits since the greatest civilisations and ecosystems were in the tropics, I'm getting a sort of india vibe so I cannot complain.
Wouldn't have felt part of Rise's soundtrack if they hadn't remixed it a bit. They actually put enormous thought into the instruments and tone they use to be fitting to areas in Rise. Less punch definitely, but more identity

Capcom probably want to avoid some unnecessary drama because in the recent years there are some composers that got into "trouble" for using the islamic chanting. A bummer to be honest but understandable.

@Azathoth Yog-Sothoth it is just for the sake of music though? nothing about music is a joke, especially when proper research is done, which capcom does in spades. they're really good at incorporating aspects of music across the world into a sound track in a meaningful way
I think the musical gimmick of Rise is that the base game soundtrack has vocal while the expansion doesn't.

This propably the first case where the "new" part of the ost that was added actually made this OST better, like holy I just love to hunt on this map just purely for this music.
Idk why this is now my fav battle music. Lava caverns is hype af but somehow this tops it. It’s just so hype but not like repetitive or too much yknow? It really makes the MR fights seem intense and it’s fast paced just like they are
This theme matched with some of my early daimyo hunts were some of my best memories of the expansion. Daimyo is still my favourite monster from the dlc, and the early G rank with just the early tier monsters and this theme felt so right. The devs definitely need to beef up the low rank and low star monsters, it’s the best part of every game! The ecology and realistic monsters are what I live for, not glowing exploding murderous apex monster number 37. But I guess the devs would rather have us grinding anomaly investigations for eternity!
They need to have the Dos jungle theme in here as an Easter egg.

10 yrs ago, i always listening the FU's jungle theme, meanwhile fighting with rathian and kut ku was the greatest memories i ever had, then i am start thinking, how about they doing some remake in this area, and added some monsters like zinogre or others.. somehow my dreams come true in double cross, they added zinogre in this area, as well lagiacrus too... And i didn't expected they also bring this map again, back in sunbreak, after the info leak this new area, i can sense my back is tingling, bringing back some of memories back then, when playing FU about 10 yrs ago.. my hype is comeback for real after hopeless leak from latest info, and after that info we can try that new map in just 1 days after! Bless capcom!

This and the theme of Monster Hunter World’s Rotten Vale are the best generic themes in the series for me
really robbed it of its personality.
That is EXACLTY what you should have done to World and Rise from the begining boys! No offense but THIS is dope compared to the background map music you did on those MH (talking about desert, jungle, forest and icy mountains for World, Rise tho is kinda ok but still, ain't that kick from the OG theme). Remix some of the old like that and my god, game is gonna be hell fire (Oh and a music choice for each map wouldn't be a bad idea just saying)

honestly theres a heavy lack of the beat present in the original one. and i dont like it. reminds me of how they flunked the chameleos theme. it takes the beat and jam out of it when you die down the drums and what not

I really dislike the decision to remake the Jungle. I have fond memories of this map in Monster Hunter Freedom 2, and they botched it. The developers didn't even attempt to make it resemble the original version (for example, places that were flat elevation are now curved and hilly)
