Moment turns into you and a monster actively working together and even if it's extremely short it's an amazing moment
“Magnamalo has appeared.”
This moment gave me chills something FIERCE. I saw the screen distort, heard the roar, saw the notification and I almost shat myself. Without contest, that was the single most badass moment from any game I've played, period.
I got so terrified first hearing that, thinking I was going to have to fight Narwa and Magnamalo, but when Magnamalo began fighting Narwa and this music came on, it was enough for one final push to victory.
Who else is a legend at this game,heard this music 1000 times and still it never gets old?

@@finnaberjanski4649 normally it would be the same subject both asking for the ambulance to be called and then saying that it's for the other person, not two different things. So the first line should be the hunter saying that they need an ambulance.

In the original meme, both people are not calling ambulances for the other person as you said. The old man getting mugged fakes a heart attack, asks the mugger to call an ambulance and then pulls a gun and says "but not for me." I really don't see anything wrong with the formatting of the meme

Tbh, I feel like only Lao Shan Lung, Shen Gaoren, the Mohrans, and Zorah would work well that way, as well as maybe Dire Miralis if they bring him back without water combat
Gog and Fatalis should have their fights the same as they were before, only with the Fatalis fight using White Fatalis instead of regular Fatalis

Dire, Gog and Fatalis only can Fit in their special arena (The Blood Lake from MHTri for Dire, The Battle Arena for Gog in MH 4, and obviously, the Castle Schrade.)

when It hit it was just a rush of adrenaline
Ibushi was just flopping around on the ground and just dying when this came on sadly. Poor thing never got to get back up and fight

Eh, I think they applied it poorly. Don't miss interpret that, the theme itself is amazing. But it just starts playing randomly in the middle of the fight. It feels so off.
Thing is, they had a much better place to put it too, but they didn't. They could've made it so that the dragonator activates a little later during the narwa fight (not ibushi, there's no good place to put it there) maybe make it do some extra damage for effect, and then play the theme after it hits. Would've worked alot better in my opinion.
@@Dnznxbebwushdn Beating Narwa is basically ending the problem, the rampage, and Narwa's theme is already pretty epic in it's own way. But the Ibushi fight is the first elder you face in the game, not only that but in a rampage where it doesn't matter how much you die(faint) but how much you can defend the village, Ibushi literally goes to the last door immediately and does a lot of damage to it, that moment of being on the edge, the f-ing serpent doing like thousands of damage to the gate, with all the villagers fighting at your side for a brief moment, until you're alone and proof of a hero starts with the gate almost completely broken, I think it was applied well.
Where many other versions have a very grandiose “somber last stand” sort of tone, this feels more like a marching rhythm/fight song, like Frontier Z. This slaps.
MH1 - A hope during that final stand
MH3 - A rising star, giving hope to other hunters
MHP3rd - Very similar to the first one, but that different tone gives you determination
MH4 - Again, hope, but with that epic touch on the notes
MHGenU This time is more than hope; You're about to win, but an easy victory is not allowed, claim your victory with your own hands
MHW: More like a military tone, you and your team are close to take down that large mountain, that thread, that enemy who threads your home
And Rise... You're not more a sinple hunter... You are THAT hunter. And now, it's your time to bring hope to other hunters, to your village, this time, this is not a proof, you're finally a hero
@@TheDevilDucker I love this, and bouncing off your description of Rise in particular: I feel like that describes the tone of a lot of the tracks we have so far. Proof of a Hero, Magnamalo, the village theme, etc. all feel very personal. Rise’s Proof of a Hero feels like YOUR theme song, Magnamalo’s theme feels like YOU and MAGNAMALO Mano-a-mano. The more restrained number of instruments pulls everything in closer, so it feels less sweeping but more punchy and personal.

So far, they are only adding a few deviants from GenU, Silverlos and Goldian, and the Kulve Taroth. But the roadmap I saw only shows their plans until September or so, maybe Capcom surprises us with Magnamalo on a later date.

My closest friend had hated MH for a long time because he thinks MHW is slow and boring… he finally tried MHR after another friend of his pestered him to do so.
We made it to the Wind Serpent Ibushi, and we were doing pretty good- our first gates got crushed when it appeared, but as soon as we launched the Wyvern fire shot and this started playing… he was laughing with me as we obliterated that wimpy elder dragon with an auto cannon and our weapons.
It was heartwarming that he could finally enjoy one of the greatest game franchises to exist, and how he got his first taste of a “Proof of a Hero moment” as I like to call it, which is the best moment in an MH game you could possibly have.
One tune...
Just one tune and all us Hunters will come running, hyped and ready for a fight.
That's when you know Capcom didn't create a franchise, but rather a Masterpiece.
I can't quite help it, but everytime I hear Proof of a Hero i simultaneously feel like a complete badass and I want to cry because the song is so nostalgic

Hunter performs helm breaker with Kamura's Inheritance
We don't see the final blow.
Cut to Kamura's Gate. The people waits aprehensive and then they hear the heavy steps of the Magnamalo that comes out of the fog, prompting Elder Fugen and Utsushi to step up to face the beast.
The Magnamalo stops and from his back comes the Hunter holding Narwa's head.
The Hunter and Magnamalo exchange a look and the Hunter nods. The Magnamalo roars and goes back to the fog.
The Hunter is cheered by the people of Kamura.
If this was an anime, this would most likely be the initial part of the final cutscene
I can easily imagine the Magnamalo being like “Farewell, Hunter. May our blades clash once again!” Before running off into the mist
One thing I really like in games in general.
Is that in the battle someone appears to help you and music changes to give you that feeling.
"This is not over yet, let's end this together."
It's not first time seeing this happening in Capcom game and I'am sure it's not last one either.
But it's feels special that even Magnamalo is willing to take hunter's side.
Since Magnamalo is not your friend and it doesn't have that kinda reason to help it.
Magnamalo propably got tired all this rampage shit and though it's tired to be Narwa's bitch.
Monster and Hunter just happens this time share the same goal, get rid of Narwa.
And with that Magnamalo brough the Proof of a Hero and was like "I leave rest to you hunter, let's meet again in another battle."
Was in the 6* Hub Urgent Rampage quest, pretty much down and out with the boys. The enemy was about to batter the gate down. We had just refilled the splitting wyvernshot, hoping it would get the kill. We fired it at the monsters and wiped most of them out, but the apex remained. We were pretty certain we were going to fail the mission.
After our ears stopped ringing we heard this track playing. The counter signal was rung and we hopped into the arena with newfound resolve. We dragged the beast from the gates, and with a little help from Yomogi and Elder Fugen we repelled the apex and stomped the rampage for good. Or so we thought...

No matter what gear we use, the villages we were raised in, the amount of allies we met, the meowster hunters with Palicos and Palamutes, regardless of weapons we main, one thing is for certain.
This song shows we’re all together to take on any threat. Now, let’s stand strong and fight my fellow hunters!
Some of the oldbies love to rag on newer players because they didn't have to go through the same bullshit we did - limited/breakable picks/bug nets, mandatory egg delivery quests (with a Rathian ambush), non-infinite whetstones, the point-based armor skill system, no access to item box in the hunt map, monsters not being marked on the map/having to paintball them to track them, needing hot/cold drinks, well-done steak being mandatory to max out your stamina...
I don't list all of that to flex on anybody, but rather to point how how far the series has come. None of that shit was necessary - when you hear Proof of a Hero, you get hyped and you're ready to smash some monsters with your fellow Hunters, no matter how young or old.

Only in Monster Hunter, the game that has a musical instrument weapon which somehow heals and strengthens everyone who hears it, do we players have a theme song that, without fail, strengthens everyone who hears it.
Imagine if you're fighting Narwa and instead of the normal Magnamalo notification, you get....

It’s actually amazing how long this theme and its variations have endured throughout the series. Literally timeless, the perfect theme for MH. It’s got adventure, a sense of camaraderie, fighting against the odds, just perfect.
When this started playing during the Ibushi fight, I knew it was impossible to lose.
What makes this song so powerful is they only play it for the most epic hunts in the game, so it only reminds us of our greatest triumphs.
You aren't fight for glory or riches, you are fighting for your village.
Your family.
And they are fighting with you, by your side.
You are not alone.
Man, the composer for this game really nailed the vocal arrangements!

Proof of a hero is always gonna be my favorite, it just hypes me up so much
I just did the duo final boss battle today. When this song started playing I felt the usual surge you get and I could tell my hunting partners from japan did too because suddenly everyone became dangerously bold: 2 of them carted. Then I thought "I can not fail here" and it seems the rest did too. We got the monster down. It was epic.
As MH rise was my first MH game, I never knew this soundtrack before fighting the Narwa Allmother.
At the time, I only knew how to play LS, and what a pain this fight was. Took me at least 10 tries before completing the quest.
And even if I didn’t know this theme, for some reason, when it started, I felt a burst of adrenaline, I was untouchable, countered every moves, parrying everything, dodging anything. I was not the little random player who just discovered the game, and as if I was possessed by the soul of all hunters, I soloed the finish blow.
I will always remember this feeling, the proof that everyone can be a hero

You were filled with the power and strength of all who came before you hunter. We all are this song the chanting all of it it's all of us its a piece of the human spirit the thing that binds us. It's a reward seldom granted and the first time you never forget. My first time hearing it was in mh3 and God it gets better every generation.

It is when this music plays and you almost shout these words together with the never-spoken-before Hunter
I really love how the hunters speaks during battle, most of the people thin is annoying, but DAMN, you can feel how they finally have real personality, some of them claims about protecting their fellow hunters, other ones want a new pair of boots during the carving proccess, and other even says "Sorry." to the monsters, because they're doing just their work as a hunter.

When this comes on against all mother Narwa there really is no better feeling.
I agree. First, nature itself rebels against her plans, in that one of the three biggest badasses comes to take her down, then this kicks on as soon as they show up and start doing their thing. Further reinforcing that you're the hero.

What I love about this song is that everytime it plays, not only do you get a psychological boost, but the monster also becomes more aggressive, as if it knows about it and starts fighting all-out to prevent you from getting the upper hand
In the end, it's almost like a spiritual battle, the one who falls is the one who let the other take the advantage
The Hunter, on his last legs, shivering in the cold rain and howling wind, stares up at Narwa, gliding towards him to finish this miserable, wet scrap of flesh.
A thump is heard.
Both twist about in confusion, and the Hunter recognizes a Magnamalo, shaking itself off after its leap. It roars, and Hellfire blazes up around the beast. Narwa roars back, lightning dancing across her body. They clash. While the Hunter stands, another thump is heard. The Magnamalo is down, thrashing and roaring in Narwa’s grip. The Queen of Lightning prepares to finish off its enemy, but then, a chorus of instruments blares out of nowhere.
Proof of a Hero.
The Hunter stands, and Narwa twists back to stare down its new enemy. The Magnamalo blasts Narwa with Hellfire, and she lets out a crazed roar of pain, releasing the Magnamalo. It leaps to the side of the Hunter, quickly supporting the staggering human with its paw. The two nod and face an irate Narwa, lighting flashing and wind howling. They charge forward, Hellfire and lighting booming around them. Narwa charges forward, jaws open wide to snap the pair up, but the Magnamalo leaps sideways, out of Narwa’s teeth and slashing her across the face with its arm blade, giving the Hunter just enough time to Wirebug into the air and bring his weapon down on Narwa’s skull, and the Magnamalo jams its tail into Narwa’s face. The Queen has been taken down.
Back at Kamura, Utsushi is nervously waiting by the gate, when a snarl is heard. The Magnamalo, bruised and cut, dripping with Narwa blood, arrives. Utsushi prepares to fight, Fugen arriving next to him. But the Hunter sits upon the beast’s back, and he jumps off, holding up the severed head of the Queen of the Rampage. Cheers erupt. The Hunter turns to the Magnamalo, and gently rubs its snout. It lets out a quick sniff, gently noses the Hunter, then leaves, bouncing back into the bamboo. But it leaves behind a scale from its tail, glittering in the dirt, a small mark from Narwa on it. *Something to remember our battle by* the monster thinks as it runs off. The Hunter gently pockets the scale, takes on last look at the forest. “Farewell my Friend!” He calls, before running into the village to join the festivities
That’s a scene I want to see more. The Monster Hunter Stories series has played more with people living in-tune with nature than trying to control it, compared to the more vague monster bonds in the main series. The fact of the matter is that the world of Monster Hunter is extremely volatile, both monsters and men must work together to keep the balance, as countless entities of planet-shaking power keep being born.
Elder Dragons that control wind and thunder, fireballs that can swallow cities, diseases that ravage and spread amongst living corpses, creatures that eat other species to extinction if left unchecked.
The humans have realized their place, and the monsters are starting to as well.
They fight because this why they live, the push and pull, the give and take, the will to make their world, even their enemies, fit for the world being forged right in front of them. But when a truly unholy threat approaches, one who believes they are above the cycle, we stand with blade and hammer, tooth and claw, eye and eye as one, declaring that we are the ones who will restore the balance, for that is why we are here.
We live for the balance.
The balance is life.
We were never the only Monster Hunters.
Who would've thought I'd be here after the Olympics?
Something that took me far too long to notice is that this version of Proof of a Hero also has the Kamura song of Purification in it.
Magnagoatlo will always have a place in my heart after the allmother fight. He was already one of my favorite monsters before this moment (cool design, theme, hard but rewarding fight, amazing turf wars, etc) but his appearance in this quest and the music shift made me really love the wyvern of malice. Absolutely legendary flagship monster for my first MH game.
Just imagine they create a Series/Anime for Monster Hunter. Narwa the brute of all Problems, fought by 4 Heroes, nearly at their Limit. But then, you hear a Familiar Scream, it is Magnamalo whom you fought back but realizing, the Enemy of my Enemy is my Friend. This Masterpiece pops up, all are ready for their Final battle. Magnamalo steps in First, taking his own revenge, followed by the Hunters. All are using their last Energy to slay the beast while Magna takes one Huge leap to pin it to the ground, followed by all Hunters, to slay the Beast and save the World. God...i need that SO much!

This starts playing in the middle of the allmother quest. 100% dodged and hit all my attacks. Then magnamalo jumped in and I fucking cheered.

With Ibushi, I felt victory was imminent.
With Allmother Narwa, I felt like she was even stronger now that she was desparate, but I had to keep fighting at my best too. Because that's what hunters do.
I got uncontrollably excited when I woke up this morning and saw the MHR icon on my PS5 menu with this theme playing!
I already own the Switch port since launch but playing on a Superior platform is gonna look amazing!!! Gimme Friday
The tone from 1:56 onwards sounds like the beginnings of the Dragons Dogma Dark Arisen theme. Just a few notes, but it sends chills down my spine when I hear it.

I remember when I heard this. Ibushi was at the final gate. I kept being knocked back, wirebugs on cooldown. Counter Signal was down to... 180 seconds? Half of the parts were broken already, down to about 4 max pots.
Then the horns kicked in. I kept dodging every single attack. Every swing of my hammer hit home. It was the hypest moment I've had in Rise yet.
My first fight with Magnamalo I got carted 2 times...I stopped and looked at my phone and said, "Google, play Proof of a Hero" and this came up. I killed Magnamalo with my Longsword and my Palamute (who I named after my late black lab Onyx) and my Palico we stood on top of the body proud as the song finished and I carved the fucking beast. I now wait and train for the day I can fight High Rank Magna. And Rajang....I'm coming for you

They went ham with vocals this time huh. And a change to (i think) a minor scale makes this version feel all the more "awesome uphill battle" kinda feel.
I haven't tried rise yet, and didnt have the urge to play it until now. I respect the fact that rise has proof of a hero, it brings back so much memories .. and a lump on my throat
And thus, as of today, I’m officially a Monster Hunter.
when this came on i was out of healing items we were one cart away from a wipe and as the song gave us courage narwa became but another sparkle snake and our team of 4 brave hunters crushed her under our boots. happy hunting everyone.
This is what I wanted when fighting Narwa, and my wish came true for All Mother Narwa. The final story fight never felt so epic
The fact that kushala and teostra can fight Allmother as well makes it all the more satisfying

this is such a bittersweet way of capcom saying goodbye to the old world monster hunter..closing it with a music video that's jolly af while reminding us of our accomplishments and hassle we went through in the game is just 10/10

When that music starts playing after you dismount Magnamalo, you aren't fighting Narwa anymore. Narwa is fighting YOU.

Ya know, I first started playing monster hunter, I really sucked ass at it. Like really. I had virtually no idea what I was doing at all.
I was stuck on this monster called the queropecco for a month (I think it was a month, honestly I'm not certain, I was six at the time.) I spent hours each day working at it, growing to be a stronger hunter each time I failed. Until one day, I did it.
I was taught a lesson that day, you can solve most of your problems if you devote enough time to them. It also taught me that ideology is easier said than done, but nonetheless, i learned a lesson.
My point is, whenever I hear 3:06 I'm reminded of that success, that triumph over hardship.
(idk if you can tell by now, but I'm kinda miffed that mh rise wasn't that hard.)
Edit: they made the new monsters fairly challenging, I'm pretty content with mh rise now.
Fun tip: If you want to extra challenge, commit to playing the game without using upgrade spheres on your armor. It’s a nice way to make the game a lot more punishing without actually forfeiting any of the fun stuff. Give it a shot! It’s what I did for Rise and honestly, I think it helped with my enjoyment a lot.

As I said in my edit, the newer monsters are fairly challenging, so I'm fine with the game now.
This was me with pink rathian in the fourth game. Semi unrelated, but If I remember correctly I was kinda really stupid and didn’t upgrade my armor or weapons until like more than half way through the low rank village quests lmao.
@@Dnznxbebwushdn Yea they're a dectn level of challenging right now but the main problem boils downs to a wirefall cooldown, make wirefall usage more punishing and you'll have people carting left and right as the monsters allready hit like semi trucks
@@legmeg496 I've noticed that the difficulty between weapons is... inconsistent. Something like the switch axe is 2 times harder to use than the long sword. To the point that il genuinely lose a few quests if I try and play too fast.
Sometimes you literally can't avoid taking damage with that weapon.

Took me a while to find this (why I don't know,) but this version of Proof of a Hero is one of the best ever.
Was having a hard time with Ibushi, and I didn't think we were going to fail the mission, but then I heard the opening notes come through and it was like a switch flipped inside me; suddenly, there was no doubt of victory.
