Despite majority of dl’s characters being bar forgettable, Crane’s character development from GRE yes man to ninja parkour badass is extremely well done
He also has a redemption arch because in the beginning he has no problem burning the antezin that the tower people needed. But then as the game progresses he betrays the gre to help the people of Harran when before he had no problem hurting them
Kyle Crane was kind of a hero to me for many years until I saw these videos... I know it wasn't his fault intentionally, but it's like every ounce of good he did was not just undermined, but completely wiped out because he inadvertently caused the death of what human civilization was before. It's a beautiful and tragic story.....but after loving this story and that character for so long, I also feel a bit nauseous.
At this point, Crane should've just killed himself, instead of going outside, just in case, or at least made sure he'd be going the proper direction, the right exit

I see this comment on every small UA-camrs channel. The problem with this idea is not every single UA-camr can become large. There’s thousands of reaction channels that get no views also. There’s only so much time in the day and so many people to watch all the thousands of videos out there. That’s why he doesn’t get more views. There are thousands of UA-camrs making good content and only so many will get a viewership. It’s just how the world works. He has a good viewership compared to many small channels which is a good sign but we will just have to see.

I was kind of sad with how the following ended but it's at least refreshing to get an ending to a zombie IP that isn't just "and they made it out alive and lived happily ever after". It was an ending to the story that kind of felt inevitable to me. Love dying light can't wait to play 2 at some point.
@@bigmeatyman what you mean its not canon? It is. Kyle turning into the night hunter is canon. Spike doesn't know what happened to Kyle after the events of the main game. Spike was leading the people put of Harran during the events of The Following.
I think the scream Crane lets out in the ending where he defies the mother is one of anguish of realising what he's turned into. Also to note, the sun is going down in that ending, meaning that he'll end up going fearl not too long after.

This was very in-depth I like it and I actually enjoyed dying light story and I like how dying light 2 story isn’t going to far away from the original one evan tho being 15 years after it still feels like it’s the same story.
loved this. i never was able to finish dying light fully back then and missed out on the dlc, and then dying light 2 is one of my favorite games of all time now. great to be able to fill in the blanks
it would be cool if he shows up doing the werewolf thing, chaining himself up at dusk, wakes up at dawn with claw marks all around him and then just unlocks the chains. XD properly handled the worst part of that condition is their features.

Even that's old video, i can say i learn a lot by this. History of game what have kinda both ends. One what's end with big explosion and second making plague rise on another side. I feel bad that end was kinda fetal for Crane.
Kyle Crane is the perfect example of the life soldiers lead. They could be good people, but they often carry out heinous acts without knowing why and they never question orders. I still love him, though.
With the release of Dying light the Beast next year we may see a team up between Kyle Crane and Aiden Caldwell the protagonist of Dying Light 2. Who knows at this point?

I finished playing Dying Light and I loved it it's amazing but I never played the DLCs because as much as I loved the game, it always gave me severe motion sickness so thank you for this video, it's really well explained. Great video

It is a person that is recently done the story mode for the first time like a year ago though, (this game came out almost 10 years ago so it evens out) him showing all the toughest parts of the game is just giving me PTSD like the battle arena and finding out that what’s her faces brother died in those things at night for the first time
I absolutely love Harran as a setting. It has been a whike since I played but from what I remember is that Harran is a middle eastern country. Such a fresh new setting than somewhere like America. This game was so ahead of its time.

i remember when people were overinterpreting the fuck out of the ending and the nuances of the scenery where kyle turns into a volatile to prove it was actually the mothers vision or some shit and something about the mother and kyle seeing her life it was so desperate.

Did you all notice that the building 😣is on the other side of the Giant wall? That was everyone's escape route once the infected were eliminated in it. But that would end the story. So why wasn't it on this side?
I remember my first encounter with the volatile, saw the dude and despite the fact they looked like some mutated aliens that sounded like the 9 circles of hell combined, i thought to myself, nah i can take these guys......oh man how wrong i was ...... needless to say every time i found myself out at night after that i'd bolt to the nearest safehouse
Everyone always tore the story apart, but I feel like Dying Light has the best storyline/lore in gaming. Yeah, the writing and characters are iffy, but the plot itself is intriguing and the lore surrounding it is really good and grounded in political espionage.
Villedor is the city in Dying Light 2. And it actually changes the way of Volatiles came to be. Virals stay in the dark until they mutate into Volatiles. And here’s my theory. If Volatiles spend more time, mutating, they’ll mutate into Tyrant Volatiles and Volatiles also evolve into Night hunters by just staying in the dark.
It's okay you can just pretend the person you play as in dl2 is Crane since for whatever reason the voice actor (who's a different person) kinda sounds exactly like Crane

Honestly I think the ending where he dies is the better one. Instead of living out the rest of his existence as a volatile and spreading the virus, if he detonates the nuke he dies and (hopefully) eradicates the virus.

Despite majority of dl’s characters being bar forgettable, Crane’s character development from GRE yes man to ninja parkour badass is extremely well done
He also has a redemption arch because in the beginning he has no problem burning the antezin that the tower people needed. But then as the game progresses he betrays the gre to help the people of Harran when before he had no problem hurting them

I always thought the neck snaps in this game were done with special care. This one's neck snaps were brutal.
Kyle Crane was kind of a hero to me for many years until I saw these videos... I know it wasn't his fault intentionally, but it's like every ounce of good he did was not just undermined, but completely wiped out because he inadvertently caused the death of what human civilization was before. It's a beautiful and tragic story.....but after loving this story and that character for so long, I also feel a bit nauseous.
In my eyes the nuke is canon and DL2 never happens

I see this comment on every small UA-camrs channel. The problem with this idea is not every single UA-camr can become large. There’s thousands of reaction channels that get no views also. There’s only so much time in the day and so many people to watch all the thousands of videos out there. That’s why he doesn’t get more views. There are thousands of UA-camrs making good content and only so many will get a viewership. It’s just how the world works. He has a good viewership compared to many small channels which is a good sign but we will just have to see.

I was kind of sad with how the following ended but it's at least refreshing to get an ending to a zombie IP that isn't just "and they made it out alive and lived happily ever after". It was an ending to the story that kind of felt inevitable to me. Love dying light can't wait to play 2 at some point.

Kyle might have turned into something like the mother you know he might be normal in the day and loses control In the night.
it would be cool if he shows up doing the werewolf thing, chaining himself up at dusk, wakes up at dawn with claw marks all around him and then just unlocks the chains. XD properly handled the worst part of that condition is their features.

Kyle Crane is the perfect example of the life soldiers lead. They could be good people, but they often carry out heinous acts without knowing why and they never question orders. I still love him, though.

It is a person that is recently done the story mode for the first time like a year ago though, (this game came out almost 10 years ago so it evens out) him showing all the toughest parts of the game is just giving me PTSD like the battle arena and finding out that what’s her faces brother died in those things at night for the first time

I absolutely love Harran as a setting. It has been a whike since I played but from what I remember is that Harran is a middle eastern country. Such a fresh new setting than somewhere like America. This game was so ahead of its time.

Did you all notice that the building 😣is on the other side of the Giant wall? That was everyone's escape route once the infected were eliminated in it. But that would end the story. So why wasn't it on this side?
I remember my first encounter with the volatile, saw the dude and despite the fact they looked like some mutated aliens that sounded like the 9 circles of hell combined, i thought to myself, nah i can take these guys......oh man how wrong i was ...... needless to say every time i found myself out at night after that i'd bolt to the nearest safehouse
Everyone always tore the story apart, but I feel like Dying Light has the best storyline/lore in gaming. Yeah, the writing and characters are iffy, but the plot itself is intriguing and the lore surrounding it is really good and grounded in political espionage.

Villedor is the city in Dying Light 2. And it actually changes the way of Volatiles came to be. Virals stay in the dark until they mutate into Volatiles. And here’s my theory. If Volatiles spend more time, mutating, they’ll mutate into Tyrant Volatiles and Volatiles also evolve into Night hunters by just staying in the dark.
Just wait a few years and you’ll be very happy about crane

It's okay you can just pretend the person you play as in dl2 is Crane since for whatever reason the voice actor (who's a different person) kinda sounds exactly like Crane
@Diino I mean tbf it seems like they half ass every game they make so it's not a surprise they didn't put much effort into voice acting. They probably thought hm some people liked crane what if we made the main character in the second game sound exactly like him.. Its annoying that they don't put effort into their games
Honestly I think the ending where he dies is the better one. Instead of living out the rest of his existence as a volatile and spreading the virus, if he detonates the nuke he dies and (hopefully) eradicates the virus.
