Each of Matt's cities skylines videos is literally a full-page bug report.
More like a novel at this point.
@@Six_Gorillionin 30 hours of gameplay I've encountered one semi game breaking bug. The game is nowhere near as buggy as people make it out to be
@@lagronioncompletely agree. I'm getting so sick of hearing about the complaints to be honest, I just want to be play the game and enjoy it with our constantly nitpicking every little thing wrong with it.
If it's so awful go back and play CS1. Oh wait, that's a buggy broken mess as well. Making a city Sim in 3D is basically the holy grail of game design at this point can we please stop acting like it's the easiest thing in the world?
This is what ten years of development has lead to. In that time almost nobody has even tried to compete with Cities 1. Why?
Because it's a niche market full of the most demanding and ungrateful players in the world of video games where the fans are already more demanding and ungrateful than any other type of entertainment.
If it's so easy, make a better one and you'll make millions selling it like collosal order have done.
@@lagronioni haven't found a game-breaking bug yet. But I haven't found much game-play either
@@lagronion the biggest problem is performance issues
How do these devs not watch Matt's videos and treat that as a challenge for what their game NEEDs to be able to do
Realistically they can't even get it to do what it's supposed to do right out of the gate, getting it to do whatever Matt is trying is way too much to ask.
probably because they want less knobs not more.
The devs of Satisfactory made a build for Josh (Letsgameitout) due to his abysmal frames on the nuclear silo. I coulda swore The mars game gave Matt a version that made it so his eggplant bridge did crash the game too
@@jesseweber5318don't forget the fish bridge too or the carrot bridge
Seems like it's a lot of issue for Lod for the water shader. That it just doesn't have the resolution to do steep level changes.
I miss the cars being washed up by the waves from the first game. Hope they plan to change the physics later on.
I absolutely did NOT spawn a Tsunami/‘s to watch them sprawl about in the waves >_>
Game hardly runs as is. No way they would add anything else to stress it more like that haha 😢😢
Is your pfp Kurisu from Steins;Gate?
Also like that your channel has touhou gameplay, very cool
I thought it was interesting that after you flooded the city and looked underwater, the buildings were destroyed, but the cars were fine and still driving around.
driver: "no time for this shit, I have places to be"
@@igorporfiirio4915 for real, in snow they don't care either, they'll just be driving with a fully covered car. No vision? Don't care, I need to be on time!
Have you ever tried to lift a car? They are *very* heavy.
@@khulhucthulhu9952That, that is not as unrealistic as one would hope. Although normally they do at least clear a little hole directly in front of the driver.
You should do this but with multiple under water districts connected with tunnels and ferries.
Hearing Bridgemas again made me realize this is going to be my first year of Real Civil Engineer. It’s been a great year RCE
bot comment
@@gavinpowell4607 it was not a bot
0:58 He knew exactly what he was doing 💀💀
That Danny Aarons joke caught me completely off guard lmao i did NOT expect to see that here
SAME lmao I went straight to the comments after seeing this

Love how the thought of just raising the land a little higher for the seawall never occurred to the engineer 😝
When Matt was drawing the roads and it looked like a perfect dartboard, I was expecting him to destroy the city by hitting it with meteor strikes.
You should have tried using the road tool to make retaining walls / key walls maybe the walls would not have leaked
*Quay walls
Those newfangled bridges with antigrav foundations look fantastic I have to say.
Just wanna say I love that in your videos you explain and tell loads of cool facts, I’m currently doing an engineering apprenticeship and it’s nice knowing new stuff thanks to you
We need to revisit Atlantis as soon as there are Mods to make it happen on a really big scale! 😄
Day eighty two of asking Matt to add the Second Narrows Bridge, Ironworkers Memorial to the Wheel of Bridgetune
It is a cantilevered truss bridge, carrying 6 lanes of traffic from Vancouver to North Vancouver in B.C. across the second narrowing of the Burrard Inlet.
It's name comes from the fact that it collapsed twice during construction, which unalived 23 people in total (Hence the name, ironworkers memorial).
I'd really like to buy this..but I hear so many bad things..performance, bugs..should we really keep rewarding these devs who release betas as full releases?
Up
I've had full on arguments with people who defend this crap (for this game specifically) by saying "oh well the devs said there were issues before release that they were going to work on fixing" as though that at all works. The logic behind thinking that's actually acceptable is part of why the gaming industry is so busted these days.
@@Astraeus.. Underrated comment
@@Astraeus.. yeah this is true a lot of the times but most of the problems with a an actual serious or serious enough dev team are either A cloud syncing stuff B mods that they dont talk about (which youtubers are prone to doing) and C they probably didnt test because of time constraints hyper uber meta citys with HUGE moving parts you know like somthing a lovable british highway engineer would make and D the tile map is frigging giant at that a huge upgrade over 1. while your correct over all this is just dev growing pains or syncing crap
@@Astraeus.. it is most likely paradox fault not the developers, they set strict deadlines for games to be released and they just had to release CS2 as it is to meet Paradox deadline, otherwise I doubt Colossal order would of released a game this incomplete if it wasnt for paradox
I would love to have one of these sweaters, but I live in Brazil. Our Christmas is in summer, and wearing a sweater at 31°c isn't a big deal at all.
14:59 High density buildings in the middle circle to low density buildings on the outer circles. Kind of reminds me of AOT
Feels very canberraish, that city was originally designed essentially as a giant set of rings.
Love your content! crazy engineering stuff!
The follow up to this should be Mount Olympus, a city built on a mountain really high, as high as you can make it while still having big and tall buildings.
He literally made a Frostpunk map, if it had all thawed out lol. I think he would like that game.
Being a civil-engineer, one part of the game annoys me a lot. All the heavy trucks in the game have 3 axles tractors and 3 axles trailers. Truck looks like that, pretty much nowhere in the world. (there are some exception like special load trailers)
The trucks. All the trucks is using euro trailers, even the american. The typical interstate standard truck and trailer combination is a 3 axle tractor and a 2 axel trailer. All axels with but the very first with double tires. Hence the term 18 wheeler (4 axles with 4 wheels, 1 axle with 2 wheels). While yes, other combinations are legal but some only on exception.
In Europe, the type of truck that is the typical that is allowed pretty much everywhere in Europe typically look in way of two ways. The first way, the standard "eurotruck" have a 2 axle tractor truck with double wheel in the rear. Then a 3 axle trailer with no double wheels. The other alternative is a 3 axle tractor with only ONE axle with double wheels, this is typically the middle axle, but sometimes its the last, this is followed by a trailer that only have 2 axles with only single wheels.
While you are alowed to pull a 3 axle trailer with a 3 axle, this would impend on the maximum load alowed. This would typically only be done when the trailer would be transported half empty due to lack of the correct type of truck. Its legal but uneconomical (because you are not alowed to load it to capacity with this combo).
What you typically never see in Europe is a tractor with 2 axles with double wheels. The reason for this is while you are alowed to carry 11.5 tons on the driving axles, you are only alowed to carry 19 tons (typically) on a pair of axles with one or two driving axles. So if the first axle carry 11.5 tons, the second axle can only carry 7.5 tons. This then makes sense having the driving axle with double wheels carry the higher load, and then a trailing axle only carry the lower load. this also allow the trailing axle to counter steer, decreasing the wear on that tire. With the exception of lumber trucks or rough retain trucks that often have two power axles.
This was until last year the rules for all trucks in Europe apart from two countries. Sweden... and Finland. In Finland you can legally drive a 76 ton truck that is 34.5 meters long. Why 34.5 meters? Because that is the exact length of a eurotruck pulling two euro trailers after each other. (those are called A doubles or B triples)
I saw his beard! I saw his beard!
Matt has unlimited terraforming. Tries to pump water outside of a hole instead of just terraforming the water away
I think the problem is the surface of the perimeter wall is too low and the terrain under the roads keeps glitching and leaking.
its the angle, not that its too low, why no one gets this, don't build 90 degree walls with terrain
Water physics are absolute trash in this game and its annoying as hell, if you try to build rivers and stuff..
you should try making the Atlantis from Stargate Atlantis, it'd be pretty cool to do
18:30 That one guy driving underwater: 🗿🍷
Day 145 of asking Matt to play Mindustry.
Day 25 of me asking matt to continue playing Minecraft.
Edit: Is it day 25 or 26?
Edit2: It,s day 26
Just stop
Hes the madman😂😂😂
No. You're just spamming his channel by now
Bro can you go a whole year?😂
An architect must have designed those bridge supports 😂😂😂
Frostpunk looking city. Also, a very fun yet challenging city builder.
02:38
Matt: "Can I upgrade these at all? ... no."
MAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAATTTTTTTTTTTT Look down, THERE IS AN UPGRADE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
03:28, Matt, doo... i .... eeeh. REALY NEED TO TELL UUU That YOU Can make pilons go UNDERGROUND??!!
Love ur vids keep it up
3:28 this is what I'm talking about. You constructed additional pylons !
The city resembles more a city from old English legend that was built below sea level and kept dry by a tall earthen wall. It was flooded because someone thought it was a good idea to open the damn to meet someone outside.
You’re the type of person that makes me want to have a job like yours. I was a civil engineer for a month-long science project this past school year and I loved it.
Cant believe Matt's almost at 2 mill, i feel like i was watching the old sub sepecials on polybridge yesterday
That went about as well as expected.
Matt always brings us the true balance between proper engineering and proper strongest shape jokes
I LOVE YOUR POLLY BRIDGE VIDS i like then because i learn something everytime to
This is how a game QE should behave... doing crazy things to expose bugs.
I love how you always mention Danny in your videos 😂
You can bulldoze/move the shipping lanes with the lane tool in the ship transport tab!
14:46 missed opportunity to have water towers on the outer ring above sea level and have amazing water pressure
Love you RCE
Ahh, I was waiting for this.
Best bit was the ending where you flooded Atlantis! 😂
Merry Bridgemas everyone!
We really got 12 minutes of landscaping and 6 minutes of city building in this video.
Speaking of that, I hope we see him build the Line again lmao
The 1st hurricane that comes along & it'll be filled in. It's not back to the future, but back to the ocean!!!😂😂😂
Gotta love how the cars kept driving like everything is normal when you went underwater to see the destruction
You should make a “mega roundabout” city, where it’s just a massive roundabout with buildings around it
Could you do another Atlantis? Where the city its rings of water.
I love how the city is completely submerged and someone is still driving around in their car.
I think if you do two concentric roads you will not have the water graphics glitch. Anyway, great video. 😊
That's a nice circle city.
RCE pans the camera and notices a tornado
Chirper: "Wow nice balmy day to enjoy outdoors!"
Bring your road ring up a few meters higher and it shouldn't over top.
I love thesse vids keep up the great work
Merry Bridgemas
matt slating danny is the best thing ive seen all week
You should try this again but used a terraced landscape along the inner wall filled with medium & high density buildings leaving the center to be low density, parks, and necessary utilities. And maybe a wider rim to put Industrial on.
All I want for bridgemas? Cities skylines 2. Merry Bridgemas
Love your vids rce
Love that the cars were still driving underwater. LOL
12:50 "At least if I delete everyone out of existence, they won't complain anymore." Channeling our inner Thanos, I see.
GET THIS MAN TO 2 MILLION ALREADY
I thought you can change shipping lanes in the transport tool?
0:58 thats a pretty efficient shape!
I fell asleep while watching this yesterday, so have another view because I only saw the beginning.
Love your work RCE - before I get CS2 - no POOPNADO so I may wait for 6 months
1 minute group
Hello
What's up?
Yo
RCE searched for years but couldn't find Atlantis so he just built his own one instead
A tip for making the water less visible would be to add another circle on the out side of the other road.
I've repeated the ugly sweater part like 5 times. It was great xD (I might get one....hmmmmmmmmm.)
That looks more like a Frostpunk city :D
You can remove and build water ways, it's in public transport tab after you build a harbor.
18:31 there's a car riding on the road on the right side of screen :D
The fact cars drive underwater 😭
That one car still driving around at the end lol
0:04 “Oh yeah”

Ah, so you want to recreate the magnificent Architect island of Great Britain!
Can you make an island city that is only supplied by a huge airport with no other connections.
0:03 Beard reveal! Omg!
love how the danny aarons comments have now made it to city skylines content
Should have made the water walls a feature. Just dig out a super deep moat around the city and have the walls be waterfalls, "surrounding" the city in water.
I don't know if this would be your cup of tea, but, what do you think about building a city with tessellating hexagonal blocks instead of rectangular ones?
I think it would be really cool if you tried to accurately reproduce an ancient city, "like Altlantis," using this game. The supposed, concentric rings and design of Atlantis are pretty cool.
Atlantis isn't an "ancient" city, it's 100% fictional. Plato made up the legend of Atlantis, likely as a means of helping teach people that unbridled hubris and excess could lead anyone to destruction.
@@Astraeus.. fr its so funny when people think its real
@@Astraeus..explain the spongebob episode then.
@@membranealpha5961ITR got you there
I thought the quotation marks were implied. Lol I meant an ancient city "like Atlantis"...
Not sure if anyone mentioned it but you can take electric underground now. If you select power lines and press page down. It will make it go under ground.
Loving vids
Funny thing about Atlantis is that from what I remember of the legends, it was actually described as being circular.
Best entertainment!!!
Gamer: "I want to .."
Developer: "No!"
Love your videos!
RCE... you're a drainage engineer. You didn't think, even for a moment, that having a road a couple meters from sea level would be a bad idea? Of course it's going to flood, even the small waves can push water onto that road.
So its confirmed, matt actually has that cool of a beard irl
I think the pump does work, but there were very little population, therefore little usage, maybe connect to the outside to extract more water
That land you bought was very fertile 😏
i did not expect a danny arons reference lol
can you do a city-nado, with one way roads going in a circle?
i love ur vids
