For those in the sony ecosystem, the A6600 is awesome! same Z battery as the new A7/A9 models is game changing. I sold my A6000 only to purchase the A6600 for the battery, ergonomics, 4K, picture profiles, IBIS, dynamic range, color science, .... It's just flat out fun to use and easy to carry. Buying a different brand (fuji x-t3) for it's marginal improvements is not an option as i'd have to invest in and entire new line of glass. For me, the A6600 is the perfect backup to it's big brother A7iii.
@@rexlibon8908 What type of photography are you into. I noticed you said a panasonic g95. That's a mistake if portraits or is your thing especially for the price. The G95 is a micro four thirds sensor, which is almost 4 times smaller than a full frame, for example when using a 12-100mm lens it's equivalent to 24-200 on a G95. If you're Into sports or macro photography you can take advantage of the crop factor getting the extra zoom. But remember shooting open at f1.4 is equivalent to f2.8 on a FF. But if you want the best micro four thirds system, get the Olympus om-d e-m1 mark ii.
@@rexlibon8908 If you need your camera for video or blogging than the G95 will do the trick. 😁 Micro thirds are dying though. But the lens are waaay cheaper and lighter than full frame and crop sensor zooms. Even panasonic moved on making full frames now. Olympus is the only camera maker to not give up the MFT systems. Lol
@@rexlibon8908 If you're lookin for a full frame, I'd highly recommend getting a Nikon Z6. They're around $1500 or so. The Z mount is new, so it'll be a minute for cheaper lenses by third parties, with image quality on par with Sony A7R's. Objectively. Like color depth and dynamic range. It's probably the same sensor since Sony makes all the sensors anyway(lol). And of course it has weather sealing, IBIS, and a bunch of other great features. Cheaper full frame option ya got Canon RP. I've never used one. Idk much about it so I know it's cheaper than a g95 and full frame.. Soo in theory it's a better bang for your buck
I don't really think the X-t3 can compete with the A6600. If anything it's on par but I wouldn't buy either one, but the Sony A6600 has 8% larger pixel area, which allows the sensor to collect more light on pixel level hence have less noise in low light / High ISO images. It also has 2x bigger battery, 3x max ISO. And most importantly the xt3 doesn't have stabilization... And when testing the DR and overall image quality they scored the same. So why would you want to get a xt3 anyway? At least wait for the xt4 and hope it has IBIS
@Prashanth Panicker incorrect. Professionals use canon 1dx mark II maybe they'll swap it out for the mark III that just dropped. 😁 FF, 20 fps. Its the most common professional camera at sporting events. Don't make sht up..
@Prashanth Panicker Just because many people are using it, does not mean that it is better :) I would aim for the G9 as the best overall camera not being FF...
@Prashanth Panicker The G9 actually has one of the best AF´s for stills, way ahead of Canon and Nikon there :) And it has 20fps or even 60fps with electroic shutter, not much cameras can do this. Don´t see why the incredible AF should be an issue
This is like the ONLY negative review I’ve seen on this camera. The rolling shutter comment is legit because I can see it. But other points dunno 🤷🏽♂️
EMKWAN REVIEWS First, I should say I don’t use Sony. However, I am hesitant due to the consistent criticism I’ve heard/read about their menu system. Ergonomics are also frequently criticized but this guy likes it with the grip. I need to get my hands on one for a test drive.
The problem with this camera is it's pricing that is close to the A7iii. I would not skimp out a couple of hundreds and just get that amazing camera. I use Fuji but if I'm tempted to switch to Sony that's the best FF entry for me. I truly enjoyed using that camera.
Got mine used (in prime condition) for the price of a used 6400 and then it's worth it. The big battery won me over. That said, there will always be some lingering regret that I didn't get Fuji but honestly the camera is a monster of a machine and takes brilliant photos.
this guy hails the AF on the SONY as the best in one breath 3:33 & 3:59 yet he tears it down as unreliable in another lol. Make up your mind bro! You have EyeAF, why even use Face detect?
Also says the image quality is a con even though he praises it earlier on. This is Engadget. Their reviews are low quality. Just go here for tech news and nothing else.
Kept on bringing up the rolling shutter. Well I dont swing my camera like an asshole when I record. Glad i wasn't the only one who thought this review was heavily skewed.
If it wasn't $1400 people would not be as mad in my opinion. The rolling shutter warrants the anger but if the camera sold for $200-300 less, people not be as mad
I bought the a6600 + 16-55mm f/2.8. After awhile I realized it's the same cost as a7 III + Tamron 28-75mm. I went with the a7III instead and was blown away by the difference in photos (I don't do video). The a6600 led me to go to full frame even though I never intended to go full frame (was an a6000 user for years!). Funny how life works. Tell you what though, that a6600 AF live-tracking is amazing. Wish the a7 III had it!
Or go the canon route and have an unusable usb-c port that can't even charge the battery with anything that isn't PD and can't power the camera at all even though it requires the higher voltage. Just because its newer doesn't mean it's better. There's a million different implementations of usb-c. It's just a physical port. The circuitry, power standards, audio or video signals, etc. are all optional. There is no guarantee, not even that it will be backwards compatible with the most basic USB 1.0 5V power standard. *cough* canon *cough*.
The Sony is just a mere toy. All of the buttons and menus placed all over the placed in a mess wrapped in a terrible brick like body that take pictures like an appliance.
@@aoikemono6414 Why is it that of all the companies that did USB-C in their cameras you had to pick the worst one (Canon) and use that as the basis of some pessimistic argument against transitioning to a newer and more modern connector standard? Look at Panasonic S1, it has USB-C and it can charge the camera, is compliant with USB-PD, and has the USB 3.0 speed, I do not believe it is a rocket science to implement. Not everybody has to 'go the canon route'. With that out of the way, I do believe Sony warrants some pessimism. This is a company that spent half a decade with the same rolling shutter problem in its sensors, same frustrating ancient menu system, same lack of UHS-II support, same lack of 4k60P. Maybe we should all just like.... not buy Sony at all till they properly catch up.
@@XieRH1988 how about you pay me well over $2000 and I'll shut up. That's the cost of the panasonic you mentioned, which also has NO PHASE DETECT which is a complete joke at that price. They will try to make it up in every way possible. I'm picking the worst company? You are cherry picking models. I literally just bought a Panasonic lx100 ii that's only a year old and it has micro-USB. I even made a stupid review of it saying how awful it was. GX9? Micro USB. If your bias against sony is gonna shoot all these secondary flaws up to top priority, you have to own up to it.
I had an A6500 and then updated/upgraded to the A6600. Like most people will say, the autofocus upgrade was simply spectacular! In the end, I want shots that are in focus and sharp and it delivers in spades. The new colour science was a big improvement as well and the larger battery was a huge win. I’ve committed to Sony glass because I trust the company’s ability to innovate and deliver class leading products. I’m confident that a new APS-C sensor and body will arrive before long and I’m certain it will be another class leading contender at the very least. I’ve committed to the brand because I trust they will provide us with many valuable gear upgrade options in the future.
I don't agree that canon is reliable Af than sony, are you kidding? the focus system of canon has dual af but slower and limited by its distance while sony can track even in a distance an can lock EA in real time and canon not good as that.
He's contradicting himself constantly. Dual pixel is no different than the phase detect on any other camera. It just happens to be trademarked by Canon. Just because the camera can focus on something doesn't mean it knows WHAT to focus on and what to track, or can identify subject's faces or eyes, which is entirely up to software. This is where Sony beats all other manufactuers hands down. Their algorithms and recognition tech are second to none.
I have changed my Sony a6400 for a Fujifilm Xt-30 and I have to say that the X-trans sensor, despite having more megapixels, captures much less detail than the old Sony sensor at levels that Fuji photos sometimes seem like watercolors... As soon as I can I'm going back to Sony and I'm going to buy an a6600
Considering switching to a6600 from Fuji X-E4. I'm fine with issue with electronic shutter movement. For me it's better that having half of my photos with missed focus
As an a6500 user this video pretty much sums up my own disappointment with the A6600 as an upgrade, the a6400 without IBIS but $500 cheaper looks a much better buy. I think Sony are really trying to force people down the full frame route. Im going to look at this in store in a couple of weeks to makeup my own mind but think this is an upgrade worth skipping.
I can't make a real case for going w/ the a6600 either. The colors are apparently better - but my a6500 is stilll slaying a lot of higher end cameras. IG: freshouttafocus
Small size has ruled more and more for 99% of people buying cameras (think cell phone, go pro, etc.). I wanted better quality than this, but still the smallest camera body I could get, so decided to start using the Sony APSC cameras because of their combo of small size, small lenses, and great image quality. I have been shooting with the A6000 for years when I travel internationally. I can't stress how important sleek, small, camera bodies are when you are hiking around 8 hours a day, or if you are out in public and want to shoot locals without looking like an invading tourist. Small size plus light weight plus a comfortable grip (I can grab the camera from the top, sides or bottom easily) equals the type of camera I want when I travel. I've eliminated the shoulder strap and can use a wrist strap because of the small size (so cool and secure). That's what sold me on the A series. I bought, 7 months ago, the A6600 camera and am impressed with the image quality improvements over the A6000.
@@bonnevilleponds The high ISO rendition is slightly better than the a6000, but the biggest change for me, comes from the more accurate AF; especially in lower light conditions. The newer bodies acquire focus faster, and are smarter in tracking. Also, you no longer need to assign a button for eye AF. Just switch the mode on, and concentrate on your composition. The colours straight out of camera is much more pleasing as well (similar to a7iii)
My big problem is that it seems like the video quality hasn't changed much if at all from the A6300. If they put in 4K 60, it would be a big improvement, since the 1080p modes on the A6xxx cameras tends to be pretty soft.
I was surprised to see how well the X-T4 coped with these tests - it did a great job. On the other hand, I wasn't so surprised to see the a6600 fare so poorly. I had a short loan of one, and since it only had a kit lens, I used old M42 lenses on it, and even for stills, the IBIS was so poor at times, I thought I'd accidentally turned it off! Years of using Pentax and Olympus cameras with excellent IBIS probably spoiled me ;)
I love the small compact size of the A6000 series and the small APSC lenses. When I travel and want great shots but don't want to carry or pay for full frame at my level as an enthusiast, this camera is a must have. It's smooth top and smooth small and even sides are, for me, far superior to the Fuji or other cameras with fixed knobs and viewfinders mounted on top. I appreciate the reviewer's comments and don't disagree with him as to the camera's weaknesses, but don't agree ultimately with a rejection of this camera for many of us who need quality images with a small form factor. Rolling shutter is easily resolved by not panning quickly and I've seen a fair number of videos using the A6600 on You Tube with my large computer screen and don't find that there is any noticeable difference at all in the image quality compared to other cameras. If you are shooting a professional video with thousands of dollars at stake, sure-rent or buy a pro-level camera. But for the 99% of enthusiasts out there APSC trumps full-frame mirrorless and the Sony is a great APSC camera.
I upgraded from an a6500 to an a6600 and am delighted with the results. For me, it's a companion camera to my a7RIV and perfect for travel, street and for taking pictures of family. Unless you've used the new focus tracking feature in the a6600 and a7RIV (and a9), it's really hard to explain the attraction. It totally revolutionizes the way I shoot photographs. The camera is always in continuous focus with the focus point in the middle. Instead of moving the focus point around you just aim the middle point at the subject, acquire focus and then the camera tracks the subject relentlessly. It doesn't matter if it's a child running in a playground, an animal running in the wild or a musician making moves on stage. The a6600 just tracks the subject flawlessly. Unlike any other camera in its class. You lose the built in flash, but I bought a Godox TT350 and it's a perfect companion for on and off-camera flash.
Hi. I was planning to buy a camera just now. This will be my first camera, but I'm passionate about pursuing it seriously. I want to get really good still while also making decent videos(travel videos). I am planning to go for the Sony A6600. Is it a good choice in mid-2022? Or is there a newer and better option that's out there?
Better off with an a6100 for half the price of that or less. Same sensor same processor and same everything else worthwhile. The IBIS is almost useless on the a6600.
@@sosomelodies659 that's mostly subjective. That's already way too big a grip for me and bigger battery versus just carrying two batteries. It's not like it uses half the power or uses a new battery technology. There's a reason why not everyone is rocking those vertical gtip attachments that add extra batteries on cameras. You lose the size advantage.

From what I can tell, the overheating issues died with the 6300. I've used my 6400 in 100+ degrees this summer with no temp issues, and the 6100 and 6600 share the same thermal processing. I think its due to porting the more thermally-efficient BIONIZ X processor from the A9.
Considering the a6400 can record 4k for an unlimited amount of time without overheating, don't you think the higher end a6600 would be just as capable?
@@IRFAN-po5sz pretty sure the 4K video is pretty equally as sharp for both cameras. However, the XT3 offers 4K in up to 60FPS, and in 10 bit color depth where as the a6600 is only 8 bit.

The A6400 is what should be compared to the X-T3 I suppose. And they have a huge price difference. So, X-T3 is better and way more expensive than A6400. The A6600 'only' adds IBIS - which the X-T3 doesn't have. It is slightly more expensive than the X-T3 but with IBIS it just sits at a different spot.
The Sony is just a mere toy. All of the buttons and menus placed all over the placed in a mess wrapped in a terrible brick like body that take pictures like an appliance.
Fuji cameras wins the competition with other brands because for Fuji Aps-c is a major format. For Canon, Sony and Nikon Aps-c is secondary segment. They are doing their best for FF. If they will do their crop cameras better, they will destroy own Full Frame line.
@@froznfire9531 As a night shooter (and owner of both) this isn't true. X-T3 can NOT compete in low-light and you will never get high ISO clean images as you will w/ the Sony. Fuji just doesnt have affordable lenses and a small secondhand market in general from what i saw. this draws me to sony right now. God i invested already like 5 days comparing these cameras and what i should buy. Helppp
I bought Sony A6600 at B&H for $1200 a few days ago and learned that the camera does not include a battery charger! It's $100 on Amazon and $80 for a spare battery. A 6600 does not have USB C , only micro USB. It took me almost 5 hours to charge the battery. Today, I took this camera back to B&H and returned it and bought Canon EOS R for $1500 instead (includes a battery charger). Take that Cheap Sony!
I can't argue with anything you said. I do think however there is a lot that went unexplored that might change your conclusion. I will preface this by saying that this is obviously just my opinion and observations, having shot both. 1st, rolling shutter, No doubt, the Fuji is superior in this regard, however, even though I'm not a video guy, I know that nobody pans the way you did in your example of the rolling shutter in the Sony. If you did, your friends would be obliged to take your camera away from you. ;-). 2nd, the Fuji zooms, in particula,r are huge compared to the Sony equivalents. Go to Camerasize and compare the Sony 18-135 and 16-55mm f2.8 with the Fuji counterparts. Compare the Sony 10-18 with the Fuji 10-24, and the Fuji 55-200mm with the Sony 70-350mm. The Sony 70-350 may be 40gm heavier than the Fuji, but it also gives you and extra 225mm in reach. Not to mention, with any of these larger Fuji lenses you will need at least an accessory grip for any semblance of balance. 3rd, being a birder, but this can apply to anybody, on my Sony, I have multiple different scenarios pre programed and accessible with the touch of one button. Instant. As cool as the Fuji analog controls are, this is not possible to the best of my knowledge. I won't even touch on the huge array of full frame native, and 3rd party lenses available to Sony shooters. There is no doubt that Sony a times makes me crazy. I have no explanation for not putting the new sensor in the A6600 or not having a fully functional touch screen or a front control dial. I have no explanation, except maybe spite, why Sony elected to remove the on camera flash and the in camera panorama feature to name a few. Had Sony addressed these issues with the A6600 they would be absolutely dominating the APS-C market, but the bottom line is that you are buying not just a camera body, but you are buying into a system. You can cherry pick specs where the Fuji is superior of course, but the big picture perhaps outweighs those. As I said, just my opinion.
Interesting perspective, most reviews I've watched were quiet impressed with Sonys APS-C lineup. I have the a6400 and a6600 excellent cameras for Hybrid shooters. Plus they have some of the best lenses for these cameras. Surprised he didn't mention Fuji doesn't have unlimited video time as Sony does. Also you can't compare a 1400 dollar camera (now 1200) to a 2000 dollar or more Full Frame camera. They are in a different league that goes for every camera company lineup. Rolling shutter can be fixed in post as well, so not a big deal there. The bit rate I agree should've been higher, but the image quality for UA-cam is still crisp.
Basically, the rolling shutter is the biggest reason why I won't consider the A6000 series. I'm going to use it for filmmaking, so that is a big deal to me. I'm wondering what the other options are for budget mirrorless cameras for filmmaking updated for 2020 reviews. Could you make a video on that, please? :)
I had a question for you. I was wondering if you could help. When I'm shooting video on the Sony A6600 with lighting set up. I notice in the beginning of the video the set is nicely darkened and the lighting is perfect. After the first 10 - 15 seconds the camera seems to be doing something to adjust the lighting. It starts to make everything lighter. I lose my effect. I notice it when I play the video back on my computer and I can see everything. Is the camera on some sort of setting that I need to turn off? I am a beginner at this hope you can help.
My thoughts exactly. Some nice features like the flip screen and battery. But overall, clear lack of innovation and a bit of a lazy release. Ill keep my a6500 for now...
Good review. A couple of things I need to confirm. 1: can the lenses from the A5000 series fit the new A6600 as they both use the E: Mount 2: what’s the best SD card and maximum size can you use in the a6600 Keep making great videos
Agree! The A6600 is a mystery. Something is just not right about it. For me this is a pure sales stradegy. Sony clearly has the technology for something better but for some reason they left it out. The real name should be 6500+ or 6500 2.0 because its nearly the same camera. I really wouldnt buy it. Either you wait for the a6700 or go full frame straight away. After waiting for the successor for more than a year I admit I was really tempted to buy it but Im going to wait a little more for the a7iii to drop in price and then invest a few hundred bugs more for better rolling shutter, better IBIS, better cinematic look, better low light. The A6600 is a good choice but the a7iii is the better choice to me. I believe when you go for APSC you find that one day there is always something missing and a few years later when you want to move on to Full Frame you have all these lenses you cannot use anymore. The advantages of the a6600 dont really convince me either. Flip Up Screen? - One day you will get an external monitor anyway. Best Autofokus? - a7iii's AF is good enough. No record limit - I have never shot longer than even 10 minutes... only excedentally. Lenses are lighter and cheaper - Check the 28mm F2 or 85mm F1.8 + they are light, cheap and create a much better shallow depth of field and they are native. So after literally giving this a years thought the a7iii is the only way to go for me.
I'm glad it helped. Have you noticed that the price of the A7iii has been dropping lately? In Germany it's already below 1900 Euro and I expect it to get cheeper since Sony might come up with an announcement this month (... hopefully).
hello! I got this camera with a FE 50mm F1.8 lens and when I try to make a video, I can clearly hear a clicking sound, as if the camera was constantly trying to focus. I tried it with manual focus and still in each video there is this annoying clicking sound. I was wondering if you have any advice? I have reset the camera but it's still there, thank you
The focus system on Sony is amazing but the overall quality and functionality of fugi is hard to beat. Can't wait for an xh2 or xt4. Also curious as to what Sony will offer on a a7iv.
A while back everybody was pushing Sony and now it seems that it is Fuji's turn. My guess is that once Fuji has had its moments in highlights, we are going to hear about the Great Canon Comeback. This is, after all, all about business.
Sony didn't change processor or sensor in ages. Most cameras that they make now are just small improvements (mostly software) of almost 6 years old A6300. Why they just don't exchange those old menus and sensor for something new already? I am still holding my a6300 but are probably going to switch to either Fuji or Panasonic G9/GH5II.
That shakiness when vlogging makes it useless for vlogging situations. That and the rolling shutter issues makes this a no-deal for me. Thanks for a great review!
The A6600 has continuous screen darkening during bursts, the RX10IV doesn't , is there a way to set the A6600 to have no screen blackouts during bursts ? also what is the exact burst rate with mechanical shutter and what is with the electronic shutter ?, I thought that the electronic shutter would give you the faster burst rate
sorry, but about the panning you are doing in the videos is just an amateur move, we all know that the panning depends on the angle that you want to cover, the focal length and the speed if you follow the rules there's no rolling shutter problem, I've been using it for a month and I think that is well worth the upgrade from 6500 because of the log recording and bigger battery live, just missing the 4k 60fps...
People get way more benefit from a 5-stops higher camera (the Sony) than one that has less rolling shutter when you try to track a fly in the air (the Fuji).
Hi, I already been using Nikon D7200 and planning to switch to mirror less camera. Can you please let me know if Sony a6400 or a6600 is better to get ? Or is there any other that you can suggest ?
It’s mostly the same camera. With A6600 (compared to A6400) you get IBIS, bigger battery, deeper grip, nicer shutter release button, extra custom buttons, eye AF in video, and headphone jack.. but for almost twice the price of an A6400.
I really hope Sony puts in a dedicated mic jack in the next model. It's annoying that you have to buy a whole additional accessory to take advantage of mics. It was one of the reasons I ended up getting a Lumix G7. Whenever they do put one in, I'll finally upgrade from my a6000
While a great camera the Fuji XT3’s lack of in body stabilization is a huge miss. Add to that none of the primes has OSS. For those who hands shack a little and even those who don’t this makes the XT3 a non-starter. Your review did not mention this, shame!
the grip looks "pushed" into the body.... . A Camera to skip. Unacceptable rolling shutter, a 3 years sensor. 6400 is a better choice. A few months from now ,we'll have the 6800 or 7000 like happened with the 6300 and the 6500...

Don’t get me wrong, this is a great camera, and I hate to be negative, but all these DSLR and mirrorless cameras( not just SONY) are excellent still cameras trying to be a video camera. I wish they had form factor and features where it was a video camera that could also do still photos. For example , no built in ND filter, separate buttons specifically for white balance, frame rate, shutter, aperture, etc. Yeah they make video cameras but not with the in camera image stabilization, auto focus control, good menu system, pro-res recording (even if it has to be external that is ok) and they are $3k more money.
Yes, especially if you've already invested in E-mount lenses, just sell them all for a fair price in a swish, sure, then get a camera without IBIS and lenses that aren't any cheaper than E-mount lenses. Wait a week and then start wishing you'd saved just a lil more and gotten an A7iii instead..

I am not upgrading until they get to 4K60. I have been waiting for years. I am still rocking the a6000.
Every camera has drawbacks. It's really a game of which cameras' drawbacks are the least disruptive to your workflow.
That's a very interesting thought. I like that quote
Sony, Nikon & Canon all treat their APS-C line up as their step children
Except the 7ds
that is because they are just consumer cameras...just something to take some video and pics with, not commercial work...
@@danc3693 you get used to it. If you dont hop camera that often it is actually not that bad

Rolling shutter is better than canon m6 mk ii.
The problem with this camera is it's pricing that is close to the A7iii. I would not skimp out a couple of hundreds and just get that amazing camera. I use Fuji but if I'm tempted to switch to Sony that's the best FF entry for me. I truly enjoyed using that camera.
Rolling shutter being the biggest issue is such a niche comment. Those fast pans are real nice footage lol
😂 Exactly
He tries to match how mediocre the Sony he's reviewing too.
I just bought a store demo a6600 with an 18-135 lens for $899. Good deal considering its 2024 and used ones STILL go for $1100+
I bought the a6600 + 16-55mm f/2.8.
Wish the a7 III had it!
micro usb on high end camera in almost 2020

@@aoikemono6414
Why is it that of all the companies that did USB-C in their cameras you had to pick the worst one (Canon) and use that as the basis of some pessimistic argument against transitioning to a newer and more modern connector standard?
Thank you for an honest review
I have changed my Sony a6400 for a Fujifilm Xt-30 and I have to say that the X-trans sensor, despite having more megapixels, captures much less detail than the old Sony sensor at levels that Fuji photos sometimes seem like watercolors... As soon as I can I'm going back to Sony and I'm going to buy an a6600
Considering switching to a6600 from Fuji X-E4. I'm fine with issue with electronic shutter movement. For me it's better that having half of my photos with missed focus
What I miss most is a second dial for shutter-speed. The fidely dial on the rear is a pain in the ass.
If you're going to make a cliche comment to try to make yourself sound knowledgable, at least learn how to spell "fiddly"....
Image quality that much better? low light light, high iso, astro? I've had my a6000 for nearly 6 years and I think its time to upgrade.
Years of using Pentax and Olympus cameras with excellent IBIS probably spoiled me ;)
Got one since 2020, still rocking in 2024
So many uneducated comments...
@@Sidowse Educate the person who made the comment, duh.
Or is there a newer and better option that's out there?
for the cost of the a6600 and the new 16-55 lens I can buy a new A7iii and Tamron 28-75 f2.8 with 100 bucks to spare.
why not a Tamron 17-28mm f2.8 with the a6600?
Better off with an a6100 for half the price of that or less. Same sensor same processor and same everything else worthwhile. The IBIS is almost useless on the a6600.
@@aoikemono6414 how bout Z battery and bigger grip?
@@sosomelodies659 that's mostly subjective. That's already way too big a grip for me and bigger battery versus just carrying two batteries. Nice little camera, but the X-T3 is the king of APS-C,for now.

As I said, just my opinion.
the battery and the flip screen are the only real upgrades. wait for the a7000 or just get an A7iv
No mention of the panasonic G9? Seems like a pretty good competitor
The bit rate I agree should've been higher, but the image quality for UA-cam is still crisp.
what app are you using to control the a6600 via phone?
Is the eye tracking auto focus available during 4k recording? Some reviews say yes, but iam not able to activate it.
Yes
Basically, the rolling shutter is the biggest reason why I won't consider the A6000 series. I'm going to use it for filmmaking, so that is a big deal to me. I'm wondering what the other options are for budget mirrorless cameras for filmmaking updated for 2020 reviews. Could you make a video on that, please? :)
Honestly, the way reviewers show rolling shutter is a way that at least 85-90% of photographers would never use a camera.

Which camera did you use to shoot this video? Thanks
Thanks a lot for your review. I couldnt decide if i need this camera, cause its so overrated, so thought i will go for a7 iii.
I'm glad it helped. Have you noticed that the price of the A7iii has been dropping lately? In Germany it's already below 1900 Euro and I expect it to get cheeper since Sony might come up with an announcement this month (... hopefully).

Sony didn't change processor or sensor in ages. Most cameras that they make now are just small improvements (mostly software) of almost 6 years old A6300. Why they just don't exchange those old menus and sensor for something new already? I am still holding my a6300 but are probably going to switch to either Fuji or Panasonic G9/GH5II.

sorry, but about the panning you are doing in the videos is just an amateur move, we all know that the panning depends on the angle that you want to cover, the focal length and the speed if you follow the rules there's no rolling shutter problem, I've been using it for a month and I think that is well worth the upgrade from 6500 because of the log recording and bigger battery live, just missing the 4k 60fps...

Whenever they do put one in, I'll finally upgrade from my a6000
Every single model after the a6000 has a mic jack.
@@alen2937 but you can't mount external mic on top a6600 has a weird on top screen
you'd have to buy a L mount thing.
@@officialyashvirgaming but at least is an option, nothing is stopping anybody to get such cheap adapter.
Better to buy the A7 II or III.
A7III is a major step up from the II. Go for the III.
While a great camera the Fuji XT3’s lack of in body stabilization is a huge miss. Add to that none of the primes has OSS. For those who hands shack a little and even those who don’t this makes the XT3 a non-starter. Your review did not mention this, shame!
What are primes and what are OSS
the grip looks "pushed" into the body.... . A Camera to skip. Unacceptable rolling shutter, a 3 years sensor. 6400 is a better choice. A few months from now ,we'll have the 6800 or 7000 like happened with the 6300 and the 6500...
6100, 6400 and 6600 released recently... I dont think Sony will release another apsc in the upcoming months. I guess 6700/7000 will be released in 2021
@3:15 Canon doesn't make a 'M6 Mk2'
Hello sir
@sony zv e10 here $580 body
And a6600 $695 body
Fujifilm x-t3 $780 body
Which would be better overall ?. I need good for 5-6 year long term , learning beginner cinematography.
CANON 6D mark 2 or a6600 ??
I’m thinking of getting the a6600 or a7iii which one should I get I really like the low light capabilities but the flip up screen!
If youre willing to pay more for the lenses, A7III is worth it
Does anyone know what camera he record this video with ??
Finally an honest review...!
It's a camera review by a photographer so it will have terrible audio and voiceover that's recorded on a $5 microphone that's even worse than the built-in camera mic. Checks out.
I don't think these people even watch their own video reviews.
I got that same flannel from Uniqlo.
Hi, can you make a detailed video on the new a6100?
You sound like a Fuji fan boy
Are you in front of a green screen? Camera may be so good that it looks unnatural.
A6600 vs omd em5 mark iii?
Love my a6300
Wow I purchased the a6400 and returned it a few days later for the a6600 then i Find this video, lol. You have me wondering if I made a good decision.
Don't listen to this Fuji fanboy....
You prefer tilt down screen? 🤔 what if youre using a gorillapod or tripod? A side flip screen would be nicer.
Haha Just go and buy the Fujifilm XT3 is the best advice.
This is obviously a biased review of the camera.
X-H1, not X-T3. X-t3 just suck without IBIS cause Fuji have no OS in their better lenses.
@@SayWhaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat If you have a gimbal then ibis can potentially ruin shots. It's actually better to not have ibis and stabilize from a 3rd party source.
@@SkullyReacts You could just turn IBIS off?
Hey It's Mark Wallace!
A6600 is missing half the picture effects present on a6xxx series cameras. No: soft focus, watercolor, miniature, hdr painting & illustration. Should be more not less. Cup half empty?
Fuji is the preset king. I'm not sure most Sony shooters are shooting jpegs.
you sound like Phil Coulson. Pretty clear info btw.
