Not having the 30 min record limit really is very helpful. I sometimes use my a6600 to film my peers at grad school doing presentations, and it’s not uncommon for those to go slightly over 30 mins. It’s great to not have to find a time midway to restart recording

It is a great camera I use it to film most of my videos on my channel. And the colors are great straight out of the standard profile. A have lenses are the Sigma 16, 30, 56mm f1.4. It’s also the most complete portable hybrid camera out there due to the limitless recording, flip up screen, mic and headphone input. And a beast of a photo camera!

I made the switch from Canon to the Sony a6400 when I decided to do live streaming a long with making cook videos. Can't beat the clean HDMI for live streaming and only 1 time my Sony overheated since I got it and that was user error.

Just bought this and uploaded my test footage. So much fun getting to know this camera, a bit of a game learning about the focusing, auto and manual. Lock down provides learning!
I bought the a6600 in December 2019 during a B and H promotion but never had a chance to use it during a trip until several days ago. I previously had the sony a6000 and loved the camera for travel. Ok, so when I came home, looked at the images on my macbook 15 inch screen, I was very, very impressed. The quality of the images is clearly better than the images from the A6000. I think, as well, that IBIS is helping with the clarity. I miss PANORAMA and pop up flash modes, available through the a6400, but wanted the latest software inside for image quality. Again, I do recommend this camera for its image quality.

Yeah, I really like the 18-135. I don't use zoom lenses often, but I was impressed with the quality to value ratio, so it's perfect for my needs.
As a professional photographer and videographer I just purchased the Sony a 66000. This is by far the most impressive APS see camera I have ever used for video and photography. I have always preferred Sony cameras because Video has never been a strong suit for the competition Canon and Nikon mainly. They were great for photography but not so much video. Sony has always had a huge background in video production mainly with their studios Sony pictures and it shows anytime I pick up one of their cameras. Sony cameras are the only one I would ever pick up and use for video as well as photography and be satisfied. That’s not to say they are perfect but it’s about as close as we are going to get without spending crazy amounts of money on professional cinematic gear and having to have multiple cameras one for video and one for photo. This is just how I feel from one professional to another
for a "professional" (hahah) you are very sony fanboy biased. i also checked your videos. at first i thought im on christopher nolans youtube channel. "great professional videos" you created. would have never been able to do so with a canon, nikon or panasonic. let alone blackmagic.
@@frankenstein2735 yeah those are all fine cameras I just think Sony does a great job on video for the price and no I’m not a fan of a lot of Sony products. Speakers headphones and tvs I think are all Sony products that are overpriced and overrated for the most part.

I JUST bought one...I love it! It's like a mini A7iii. Maybe even better in some instances. I was literally one click from buying the bmpcc4k but decided to so a bit more research. I think that camera just has too many cons for my line of work, the a6600 just fits so much better!
Does it have bad rolling shutter ? like sony zve10 ?
@ravi cholachagudda it's on a tripod for me 100% of the time. Unless you are doing documentary style videos or vlogging, rolling shutter isn't a big deal. I honestly don't know if it's bad or not.
Just exchanged my A6300 for A6400 just recently and have filmed a few things off a USB battery pack. It's been great so far and the Samyang 12mm f2 with clear image zoom makes for a good combo.

Hey guys chill about the x-t4 this video was recorded a while ago before the x-t4 was announced (2-3 months would be my guess)
Recently picked up the A6600 with the Tamron 17-28mm F/2.8. Great combo along with the SmallRig cage and the Rode Wireless Go. Also, I'm using Cody Blue's Custom Cine4 profile which I prefer over both SLOG and HLG.
Great review✌️ bought the 6600 a month ago and, yes very satisfying camera. The battery life and time limit recording was the deal breaker.

The A6600 is definitely a great option with that large battery. Hopefully other camera companies follow suit. I did try it out, but didn't have enough time to get a really solid grasp of how well it works in practice. My only concern I had was the slow sensor readout, but that's the same for all of their current APS-C. The 4K can look pretty wobbly if not careful about it. I'd actually love an A6400 for a dedicated sit-down talking setup. The 13 hour and 1 minute recording limit would be great! (lol, thanks for finding that out. I'm going to assume it's the same for all of their current "no limit" cameras). Hopefully Canon keeps investing into EF-M by making an M5 mark II with IBIS and a larger battery. We will see.

@@rickchardet01 I've worked with a 80D before buying a a6300. Depends on what you do a lot, a6300 offers more on video. 4k, 120fps, logs. Autofocus good on a6300 as well, 80D has the touch AF really good and that's and advantage, but again, it depends on what you and what you prefer.

I was so tempted to upgrade my A6300 for this new camera. However, for the similar price of an A6600, I got the Canon M50, plus the Sony 18-135 and the Sigma 16mm f1.4 lenses :) So I've just ordered them instead, and will have to get the A6600 another day. Keep up the good work Gene, as I really enjoy the style of your Chanel :)

@Ashley Chamberlain , you are talking about giant G lenses above 1500 bucks. That is not what you want on a small 1000 bucks APSC body. Fuji lenses are great.

Burrito Bro's Videos if you’re only shooting stills, yes that’s a no brainer. I shoot video 75% of the time so the 4k60 + 1080p240 + 10bit internal + Film simulations (Eterna) were the reasons I sided with the Fuji, and for the 25% of the time I do take stills it’s more than capable of producing sharp images albeit low light conditions.
Hooray for ALL the stabilizations! Footage is looking nice too.
Would love to see your thoughts on the Panasonic X2000! The 1"2/5 sensor is small but image quality seems neat! Keep up the rad vids! Learned a lot from this channel!

Gian Sanchez please tell me about your findings with the XT-200.
@@DeepteshLovesTECH pretty much the X-T100 just with slightly faster AF, proper 4K@30, and that swivel screen.
That sounds great and all but coming from the X-T100 and having the 200 for a bit, the specs but don't perform as you'd think.
It's something I've found out from trying out the X-T30 and even the X-T20. They blow it out of the park in terms of both stills and video. The XT-100/200 just seem like a whole different generation behind, I just can't go back after experiencing that..
In general:
- The contrast and color look somewhat off from the X-T20/30.
- The video is veery sub-par. Just try looking for samples online, faces look somewhat pasty or soft or mushy.
- Using it feels slow and unresponsive, even compared to the X-T20
- It overall feels very entry-level and with that price just buy used please.
Gian Sanchez ok thanks, however no flip screen is a deal breaker for me.. XT30 is very expensive in India(more than A6400). I was eyeing the XT-200 as an alternative to the A6100. Let's see..

14:00 this is huge for gimbal use w/ external monitors! I might make the switch on this feature + the unlimited record time.
It was the best until x-t4 :) and like x-t4 it is so expensive you start thinking if FF not will be better :D so i think SONY really should think about their prices, because everything is too expensive compare to rest.

The X-T4 is also the size of a FF camera. Sensor size doesn't matter to much these days as much as how big of a lens you put in front of that sensor.
@@karafuru7666 it matters a bit. Glass is indeed important, but the sensor does matter quite a bit.

Small APS-Cs...?! The X-T4 is much to big for an APS-C...with the 26-55 2.8 the Fuji Combo ist 280 Gramm heavier than the 6600 with the 16-55 2.8 from Sony. and over all much bigger. You are in size, weight and cost in the Fullframe Area...

The XT-3 is also a comparison to the a6600.
The Sony 6600 is really good. Trouble is when one has committed to a particular system changing is expensive for minor gains. I've just bought a Canon 90D and await a 100 to 400 L mount lens this coming week. I can also, via an adaptor, attach it and others to my M50. Canon is bringing out an M5 Mk2 at the end of the year. So with a range of Canon lenses I've got pretty much everything covered.

1. Filmmakers, you know, the ones that actually work/worked on movie sets and have experience with most tools.
2. Videographers that also do vlogs/reviews
3. Vloggers that walk around with a camera talking about crap and presenting themselves as filmmakers. You can also find them on Facebook/Instagram, usually having a mirror selfie with their DSLR as profile picture, and next to their profile name, the word "photography"

@@luludvega Full frame is not particularly great for video, you don't control your shutter speed, so the only way to get a cleaner image is by sacrificing depth of field.
@@luludvega Better consider the X-T4 for his new battery, flip-on screen for vloggers and his weather resistance. X-T3 is now at the same point price as the a6600 and I still think that he's better

You need that for nothing most likely
In most cases, even 1080p 60fps is more than adequate, especially if the overall image quality is already very good.
What you would need more likely is an unlimited record time and long-lasting battery; something the XT-4 couldn't offer.
