I recently bought my first camera, the sony a6600. I originally wanted the a7III, but the price was a bit out of my range. I wanted the 6600 over the 6400 and 6100 after watching your comparison of each of those, and after watching this video, i'm happy I went with the 6600 over the A7III. Wish it had the low light performance of the A7III, but the 6600 works better for what I need to do! Thanks for helping me decide on a camera!
I ended up with both cameras. Embrace the healing power of "and". I use the A6600 as my principal video camera because of the AF tracking in video. And I use the A7III as my primary stills camera. The A6600 with the 10-20mm f/4 PZ lens is a great vlogging setup and gives me superwide coverage when I need it for interiors. The A7III gets pulled out for low-light, landscape, portrait, and macro work. The A6600 gets pulled out for telephoto work. It's like having a teleconverter that works on all of my lenses.
For someone who doesn't already have a bunch of full frame lenses, the a6600 has the benefit of a selection of smaller, lighter lenses, which are also less expensive. So that $400 difference becomes thousands of dollars difference and the option of being able to carry a bigger selection of focal lengths with you
Adding an APS-C body to a full frame kit has the effect of doubling your lens kit, which is especially nice if you like prime lenses. Add an APS-C body to a full frame kit with a 24mm, a 45mm, and an 85mm lens, and you get a 36mm, a 67.5mm, and a 127.5mm lens
This was sooooo GOOD! Thank you for such a thorough explanation and helping me to understand the difference between full-frame and APS-C. Now I feel more equipped to make an informed decision.
I agree, I'm not seeing how full frame would improve my work. It would change it, but I'm not sure if it would improve much to any extreme degree. And if Hollywood has been fine with super 35, who am I to complain ;)
Another one who agrees. I travel and every ounce counts. Not only is the body smaller but the lenses are also, and I don't notice any IQ difference for the kind of work I do.
I started on a a6000, after upgrading to a a7iii which I love, I have decided to get a a6600 as a full time camera to shoot sports on, and use the a7iii as a dedicated stills camera. Make use of the x1.5 crop of the apsc, and from experience, the overall image quality from the a7iii is much better than the a6000 when using a good lens on a nice day with good light, so a6600 should be great especially with the battery life.
A7iii absolutely, dual sd card slots so you always have a backup of your professional work that you're getting paid for... and it'll do better for low light situations.
I just got the a6600 and I love this camera. I was on the fence between these cameras and I feel that the right choice was made. The a7iii is an amazing camera but I felt the a6600 presented more value for what I am going to use it for. I do want the FE 28-70 mm F3.5-5.6 OSS Lens though.
I often hear reviewers say that you shouldn't go with Sony unless you're willing to do work in post. If not, go with Canon because of it's great look right out of the camera. Would you agree with that with the a6600?
I've watched your videos for a while now and I still love the show. Incredible work and quality for everyone who is a tech lover 👏 For future shows, could be interesting a comparison between the Sony a7C and a6600 (almost same body size, same price but FF sensor vs APS-C). I also would love to see a detailed review of the a7C, could be interesting for others too. Anyway, love the show. Have a nice day 👋
Thanks this was a great informative video to watch. I am currently looking at buying either one of these cameras, and am leaning towards the 6600 as a newbie hobbiest. I went to store to look at A7iv and came away seeking information on the 6600 so this has helped a lot. Current prices for the 7iii $3799 with the 6600 at $2099 (Australian prices, body only)
Prices in Argentina. Sony Official Store. 23/10/2020 11:35 (Argentina Time) Sony a6600 + Lens SEL70350G = $181.199 ARS. Sony A7iii + Lens Full-Frame 35mm (I don't really know which one) = $189.999 ARS $1 USD = $190 ARS (It will go up every day) So; Sony a6600 with that lens = $957 USD Sony A7iii with that lens = $999 USD
Cool review, but please just do a simple thing: when u tell a number - show it in video, side by side. It’s dramatically improves understanding of the data and words you saying. Thanks!
Terrific review ~ great information, and it's still valid today ( May 2021 ). I'm making a buying decision right now between these two cameras and found this review to be more helpful than any other review I've read or watched. ~Thanks!
I'm from Chittagong, Bangladesh. Here A7iii only body costs $1750 USD(converted from my local currency) & A6600 body costs $1560 USD. Love to watch your videos. Thanks for the good contents.
I'm in Cambodia, currently. The body: - a6600 = $1100 - a7iii = $1600 I've sold the a6400 because with Sony APSC, the problem for me is wide angle lense. There is only 1 (10-18mm f4) the f4 turns me down. Many choices for Sony FF, Sony 12-24mm f2.8, Sony 16-35mm f2.8, Sony 20mm f2.8, Sigma 14-24mm f2.8, Zeiss 18mm f2.8, Tamron 17-28mm f2.8.
Thank you for such a detailed video. Because of you, I'm able to make a more informed decision on my purchase. Please keep up the great work you're doing.
Currently in Australia the Sony a7iii is selling for between $A 2,450 - $A2600 While the a6600 is priced at (body only) $A 1,560 - $A 2,000 plus... Shows that you have to shop around for the best deal
@@shutterbug5732 There are a lot of reasons to buy the A6600. Video, small, light etc... For photography where you don't mind carrying a lot of gear maybe the A7III is better.
E-infinity sales the A7iii for £1310.00 and A6600 for £1040 including sales tax and delivery in the UK. I have the A7iii and an A7Riv both incredible cameras !
This is exactly what I needed to see. I am currently saving up for one of the two of these. I may go for the 6600 though for the unlimited video and smaller size for travel. You are an amazing reviewer 👍🏻
At 17:20 you mention that Canon Sigma lenses dont work but that Canon standard lenses do. But then you said if we have a bunch of old Canon lenses laying around dont think we can use them, because we cant, which confused me. So do standard Canon lenses work, and just not the sigma lenses for Cannon? Or Canon altogether just doesn't work? Thanks!
I see. One was for video and one for photos. For photos both canon and sigma lenses with EF mounts work using the mc-11 adapter. For video, only sigma lenses worked with autofocus. Hope that helps.
@@TechGearTalk Ahhh, thank you so much! I was so confused at first. I appreciate you explaining it for me, sometimes I need things dumbed down, this is all new to me. I love your videos by the way! I still dont know which one to get for my channel. The M50 is just not good enough for my needs or on image quality. I am really thinking of going with Sony for the unlimited record time, can record while charging, clean HDMI, plus that SMQ button. In a perfect world one of these manufacturers would make a camera that can do it all, lol. I just really love Canon colors and other things about Canon, but then there are those little things I need that Sony seems to have.
⭐️ Buy the Sony A7iii (updated): geni.us/sony-a7iii (affiliate) ⭐️ Buy the Sony a6600: geni.us/ICseQ (affiliate) What's up everyone?! I hope this comparison of the Sony A7III and the A6600 sample footage and images is helpful. Did you like it? These are two of my favorite Sony mirrorless cameras for both photography and video. Let me know what you think!! Would love to know what you think, good or bad. I am grateful in advance 🙏
@Tech Gear Talk I’ve seen many videos where the rolling shutter when using 4K is evident. Is it enough of an issue to be a dealbreaker? That is the one thing holding me back on buying the A7C or any of the Sony APS-C cameras.
price in Germany (end of Sept 2020): A7III body US$ 2272; kit with 28 -70mm lens: US$ 2531. A6600: Body: US$ 1648; kit with 16 to 50mm lens: US$ 1813. Euro Dollar conversion done with internet conversion tool.
In France the a7iii is typically around €2100, and the a6600 around €1500. However, one site I found had the a7iii at €1600, so as ever there are bargains to be found. Regarding the video, as always very very well made. You achieve a really high standard, well done. One thing you do which is really cool is your icons that appear all the time indicating which camera you're talking about at that moment. To me that makes a big difference in easily following the comparisons. Last thing, which would I get? Well, I have an NEX 5R at the moment, and I really like the form factor. So I'd probably go for the a6600, but it's not an easy choice. I first got the NEX because my old 35mm SLR was under used due to the hassle of taking it with me (and the difficulty in getting it out of the so-called ever-ready case!!!), and I wanted something that gave me a great camera in a small package. I think I'm still leaning in that direction. Thanks for the vid, keep up the good work.
Just wanted to say that your content is excellent Sagi. It's clear you put a lot of time and work into your videos and breakdowns. Thank you. I finally upgraded to an A6600 myself from an A6000 that I've been using the last 5 years with the Sony cashback offer recently. I'm only a hobbyist photographer and I was deliberating over this and the A7iii for a while but in the end I think the A6600 suited my style better. I like to travel light and usually just grab the camera when out for a walk so the form factor and smaller sized lenses for cropped sensor suited me better. And then there was the fact I'd have to upgrade all my existing glass to cover the full sensor on the A7. If I was doing it professionally I would certainly go with the A7 I think. I can't get over the difference in build quality between the A6000 and A6600. When I go back to the older model it feels so much slower and cheaper 😄 but still produces great shots which is the main thing
Brendan - I truly appreciate you taking the time to watch and to leave such thoughtful and valuable feedback. I absolutely agree that you made the right choice and that the a6600 will fit your style/needs better. So glad to hear you love it - Thanks for being part of the channel!
Great video! Loved seeing how well the 6600 iq holds up to the a7iii. The only point you didn't mention is the price and size of lenses. I really want to go full-frame but I already have some nice aps-c lenses and the cost of a new camera + lenses is really prohibiting. The 6600 is a tempting upgrade but I just can't justify buying another camera with the same sensor. Hopefully we get the xt-4 killer soon.
@@ealxele I wish I had listened to myself in this comment haha! I got the A7c and it is a phenomenal camera but the FF lenses really are just big and expensive compared to aps-c. I do love my current setup but I wish I had stayed with the A6000 series, especially now that there are some really great lens options out.
@@JohnDennery Ah sometimes you just have to listen to your gut! Haha sucks but I'm sure you appreciate the higher quality from the FF setup ;) I was really super close in considering the XT4 vs a6600 and ended up staying with the a6600. Super glad I did because I think the most important thing for me was the small form factor like you said. Do you ever see yourself maybe coming back to the smaller APSC setup?
@@ealxele I'm definitely planning to switch back to aps-c again at some point. I just love the smaller form factor and it's so much easier for manufacturers to stabilize aps-c sensors so I think they will be the top choice in the next few years. Hopefully we start seeing some pro-level aps-c gear coming out soon with great weather sealing too!
Need suggestions. I have Sony A57, APS-C, have it for 8yr, with @74000 pictures, Is acting up. Willing to upgrade. I am not professional photographer, doing it for hobby, nature, family and friends photos. My options are, Sony A6400, A6600, A7II, or A7III. Is it worth paying extra $400-$800 for A7III, or with A6400, A6600, A7II and buying better lenses? Thank you.
Very informative ! I have a question - maybe the answer is neither of these cameras but my question is: Which Camera shall I get, I'f I'm starting a youtube channel from scratch, and the theme would be to review vegan/vegetarian restaurants and food? Would like to get some cinematic shots in the kitchen too! Both of these look great but are both very pricey . Thanks
Use your phone if you have a good camera phone. Most new phones are actually very good if you aren't absolutely requiring that blurry background. Get a good camera app, some good ND filters, a gimbal and some good microphones. Good luck dream-chasing!!!
So with the auto eye focus, what happens if you have more than one person in the frame like at a wedding? Will the camera switch back and forth between multiple subjects in the frame or pick the closest one? In other words, is the a6600 a good b role camera that you can set up and forget, or do you need to monitor its focus to make sure it is focusing on what or who you want it to, like the bride, and not a bridesmaid?
Don't know if you already found your answer, but ordinarily an AF system will just pick out the closest face to focus on. Sony cameras have a facial recognition feature that allows the camera to prioritize which faces to focus on, but it requires that you register the faces ahead of time. If you are shooting a wedding, you could have the bride as #1, the groom #2, and so on. So there could be multiple people with the bride, but it will only focus on her. Alternatively, you can use the touchscreen to select where/who you want the focus point on.
Great Video! My concern is that I am a wildlife photographer, a6600 has greater reach because of its crop factor, would the picture quality be degraded in comparison to A7III since they both have excellent AF systems?
What’s your take on lowlight with aps-c at f1.4 or f1.8 vs full frame? Is there a big differences between crop and full even if the crop is at f2.8 or lower?
Hi Cody. There are more elements at play (ex. resolution of the sensor). in low light, a wider aperture will be better if all other things are equal. Watch this video for some info: ua-cam.com/video/O9hzhFpHEf4/v-deo.html
I have the Sony A7IV. Should I get the a6600 to extend the zoom range on APS-C due to the crop factor for wildlife photography? I know I can use APS-C mode on my A7IV but at a lower resolution than the a6600. Considering the new Sigma 60-600 or the Sony 200-600.
We are trying to make a decision between these two cameras. We currently have a Nikon D750 which is great for photography but not so great for for video (which we really need). We will be selling the Nikon to get into a new system. My concern is that if we go back to a crop sensor will we notice a big difference on the photograph side? I still like to take photos when I fry the chance (although video would be the main purpose). Also the a6600 has the flippy screen so we can see ourselves when videoing. We are on a budget so money will not be unlimited. Probably the most we could spend on camera and gear is $2400. Do you think the a6600 is our best option? Someone mentioned we should wait for the A7IV but I don’t know if it will have a usable screen for when we are walking and videoing ourselves and it may be out of our budget.
Great Comparison job! Country price variance is interesting. Here in Australia as of today 28/5/21 I can get: A7iii Body for $2,300 au = $1,780 US and the A6600 for $1700au = $1,310us
I’m going with the future a7C, full frame with smaller body, lol. Best of both worlds. I would love to see the picture stills quality comparison between these two! Great video!
Picked up a used a6600 for 1381cad or 1163usd. An ok price as it sells normally around 1500-1600cad. The a7III sells for around 1600-1800cad used. I think I will use the a6600 a bit but likely grab an a7III and sell the a6600 if i can get one around the same price.
Thank you for this great video! I was thinking about buying the a6600 as I have a few A-Mount APS-C lens from my old A77ii. (Sigma 18-35 1.8 (A mount), Tokina 11-16 2.8 (A mount), Minolta 50 f1.4 (A mount), Sony 50-300mm (A mount), Sony 30mm Makro (A mount). I was wondering how the lenses would perform on the a6600 by using the new sony a to e mount adapter. Would be primarily for Filmmaking, so I'm a bit worried about the auto focus. The fuji XT-4 seems to be interesting aswell but I couldnt find a "good" Sony A to Fuji X adapter.
Another great video! So well and calmy presented. I got the Sony A7III with the Sigma Art 24-70 lens for 2100€ right now. That sounded like a great deal to me! Definately keeping my Canon M50 for vlogging (flipscreen) and travel (weight). Also, I need multiple cameras for my drumcovers on UA-cam.
We’re looking to upgrade from our Canon M50 for our vlogging camera soon. Great review. Really enjoyed your M50 videos too! Thanks for doing such a great breakdown of everything.
I am planning to buy A6600, but i have a confusion, Is the stock lens 18-135MM good enough or should i just purchase the body only and then buy the lens separately ?
Hi, please suggest me a new camera between Canon R6 , Sony a7iii and Sony a7iv which shall be released by end of the year. My primary usage is portrait photography and product photography. I rarely shoot videos. I don't need Sony a7 r series. I don't need such high resolution. I have not invested so far in lenses. So switching between platforms is not an issue for me.
I was dead set on getting the a6600 to pair with a 200-600 for birding, high zoom landscapes etc but the ergonomics of the a6600 just seem bizarre to me. The offset VF, the size and shape and the lack of front settings wheel feels like a deal breaker to me. The reach would be less with an A7iii, but dpreview comparison shows the A7iii has at least one stop advantage in ISO noise, so I could substitute the reach advantage by getting the 1.4x telecon. It's a shame as the a6600 sounds very capable but the ergonomics just puts me right off.
Another solid video Sagi and you just added more confusion to me. SONY A7 III WITH FE 28-70MM F/3.5-5.6 OSS LENS - INR 148,900 (2033 USD) SONY A7 III Body only - INR 136,900 (1870 USD) Sony A6600 WITH 18-135MM LENS - INR 143,900 (1966 USD) Sony A6600 Body only - INR 105,490 (1450 USD) If you see the difference with kit lends, its pretty negligible. but buying a body only A7II and buying lens separately, full frame lenses are 100 USD plus here in India, for decent ones. On the other hand FUJIFILM X-T4 WITH 16-80MM LENS - INR 174,800 (2400 USD) FUJIFILM X-T4 Body only - INR 133,900 (2400 USD) I am a beginner and want to grow. my current usage will be HD, for it Fuji is better but I want to start making content in 4k, Fuji is better again here too. I may be wrong :D and I heard Sony's HD is just okay, compared to its 4k XT3 might be an option, but the difference in cost between XT3 and XT4 is about 350 USD, I might as well invest somehow. I love Fuji's design, mainly because of its retro style, but I need solid auto focus and low light capability as most of my work is between 6PM and 10PM, after my day job. I am so confused. Want to invest because I will be using this camera for next 5 years at least.
I am considering these 2 cameras right now! Still cant make a firm decision. I love the size, weight and grip of a6600 but the a7iii has ff. I shoot mostly toys and trying to venture into videography. What would you recommend? Also the pricing in Malaysia are as follows A7iii - rm 6.7k (~1.6k usd) A6600 - rm 5.5k (~1.3+k usd) Please help!
Personally I wouldn't use full frame because I can get amazing lenses for aps-c for A LOT less money. Hope this was helpful. Thanks for being part of the channel!
I lived in Bali, Indonesia. Here the A7iii currently at Rp.25.000.000 and A6600 at Rp.21.000.000 (both price just body only). Only Rp.4.000.000 difference
Hi, would you recommend Sony A7C over the A7III or should I get the A7III instead? I barely do photography. I mainly use cameras for videos. I’m currently using the Canon M50 and I think I wanna jump into the full frame category so I might not consider the A6600 as it’s still an APSC camera. Thanks in advance 😄
Hey - great video thanks. I shoot sailing and other watersports and often the light is either very low or, in summer, over-bright with sun plus water glare. My current, older DSLR really struggles in these conditions and can produce an equal mixture of fairly good, washed-out and too-dark photos. So 2/3 of photos are not very good. Also a good shot on the water needs to catch the spray droplets perfectly - not blurred - (in surfing for example). I am looking at getting either of these cameras to solve these problems and am looking to get a Sony 70-350 mm f4.5-6.3 G OSS E Telephoto Zoom Lens. Which one do you feel would be best for these on-water action shots please? Thanks
I had a question for you. I was wondering if you could help. When I'm shooting video on the Sony A6600 with lighting set up. I notice in the beginning of the video the set is nicely darkened and the lighting is perfect. After the first 10 - 15 seconds the camera seems to be doing something to adjust the lighting. It starts to make everything lighter. I lose my effect. I notice it when I play the video back on my computer and I can see everything. Is the camera on some sort of setting that I need to turn off? I am a beginner at this hope you can help.
I appreciate your video and the information. I am considering a A6600 paired with a Sony FE 12-24mm F2.8 G lens. I use it hiking and backpacking for wide angle landscape shots. You said the A7III would be better for wide angle so that gives me pause. So concerns about my setup? TY
Hi I'm in Norway and are planing to get into real estate video and are looking at one off these Sony's A6400 $1289, A6600 $1873 or the A7iii $2344 that's all body only. But when add a Tamron 11-20 2.8 for $1172 to the A6600 compared to the Tamron 17.28 2.8 on the A7iii for $1055 the cap between those to are only $235 So its making the decision between the 6600 and 7iii really as good as the 6400 is I have to look at my next purchase as a long time investment and the 6400 might be to old then. But I'm leaning towards the A6600

I think I’m the only one who like Super 35 sensor over Full Frame.. for me the extra range with short lenses with super 35 is amazing!

My apologies if someone already ask this question, which do you prefer for wedding videography?
A7iii absolutely, dual sd card slots so you always have a backup of your professional work that you're getting paid for... and it'll do better for low light situations.

I have the a6600 and will get the a7iv when it comes out. They have different use cases. A6600 + the Tamron 70-180 is great for sports.
Nice! Good plan. Thanks for being part of the channel!
It is good in good lighting. If you go indoor a6600 does not handle iso too well

Sony a6600 with that lens = $957 USD
Sony A7iii with that lens = $999 USD
Cool review, but please just do a simple thing: when u tell a number - show it in video, side by side. It’s dramatically improves understanding of the data and words you saying. Thanks!
Thanks for the tip 👍
Terrific review ~ great information, and it's still valid today ( May 2021 ). I'm making a buying decision right now between these two cameras and found this review to be more helpful than any other review I've read or watched. ~Thanks!
I'm from Chittagong, Bangladesh. Here A7iii only body costs $1750 USD(converted from my local currency) & A6600 body costs $1560 USD. Love to watch your videos. Thanks for the good contents.
I'm in Cambodia, currently. The body:
- a6600 = $1100
- a7iii = $1600
I've sold the a6400 because with Sony APSC, the problem for me is wide angle lense. There is only 1 (10-18mm f4) the f4 turns me down. Many choices for Sony FF,
Sony 12-24mm f2.8, Sony 16-35mm f2.8, Sony 20mm f2.8, Sigma 14-24mm f2.8, Zeiss 18mm f2.8, Tamron 17-28mm f2.8.
Makes sense 👍🏻
awesome video. just wondering what were all the attachments on the a6600 scene? mic, body frame, light and wooden handle. thanks.
Thank you for such a detailed video. Because of you, I'm able to make a more informed decision on my purchase. Please keep up the great work you're doing.
I have a question which do you think would be best for sports photography
What should i pick if the price of a7iii body's is same as a6600 with 18-55 mm lens?
Awesome video. Thank you. I have both - 6600 and a7iii and love both for all the reasons you stated. Keep up great work.
Thanks for watching and sharing 🙏
Currently in Australia the Sony a7iii is selling for between $A 2,450 - $A2600 While the a6600 is priced at (body only) $A 1,560 - $A 2,000 plus... Shows that you have to shop around for the best deal
In INDIA
:A7III is $1951
:A6600 is $1933
Whoa!!!
@@TechGearTalk Yes the price difference is so less between the two, there is no point in buying A6600
Wow, that's crazy!
@@shutterbug5732 There are a lot of reasons to buy the A6600. Video, small, light etc... For photography where you don't mind carrying a lot of gear maybe the A7III is better.
Update: A6600 is around 1350-1400 USD
whereas A7iii around 1940 USD

E-infinity sales the A7iii for £1310.00 and A6600 for £1040 including sales tax and delivery in the UK. I have the A7iii and an A7Riv both incredible cameras !
This is exactly what I needed to see. I am currently saving up for one of the two of these. I may go for the 6600 though for the unlimited video and smaller size for travel. You are an amazing reviewer 👍🏻
Glad I could help! I think those are good considerations. Thanks for being part of the channel!
A7iii has unlimited video
@@darealk4h561 but for a traveller or a small girl, size and weight matter.

What's up everyone?!
@Tech Gear Talk
I’ve seen many videos where the rolling shutter when using 4K is evident. Is it enough of an issue to be a dealbreaker? That is the one thing holding me back on buying the A7C or any of the Sony APS-C cameras.
Could you help me? which camera do You offer for just photography? an a6600 or a little old full-frame like a7ii or a7rii. Thank you
price in Germany (end of Sept 2020): A7III body US$ 2272; kit with 28 -70mm lens: US$ 2531. A6600: Body: US$ 1648; kit with 16 to 50mm lens: US$ 1813. Euro Dollar conversion done with internet conversion tool.
Thanks. So that’s about the same ratio.
Thank you so much for the kind words and feedback. Yes, form factor is very important because a camera does you no good if it stays at home.
Sony a7iii or Fujifilm xt4?
I'm mostly into content creation. Pretty confused. Ans pls. 🙂
Wow, great choices. Personally I would get the xt4
Excellent comparison and analysis. Thank you for your expertise, and professional guide.
Glad it was helpful Henry! Thanks for being part of the channel!
Great comparison. You missed max flash sync speed: 1/250 for A7M3, 1/160 for A6600
Really appreciate it mate! Excellent video
I'm a proud owner of both. While I've been shooting FF more I dont see myself getting rid of the a6600. Its nearly perfect.
A6600 is now on sale in the US, but now the A7C is announced too
They keep changing their prices, lol
I have a g7x Mark 2. I want an all around camera. What do you recommend?
Great video! Loved seeing how well the 6600 iq holds up to the a7iii. The only point you didn't mention is the price and size of lenses. I really want to go full-frame but I already have some nice aps-c lenses and the cost of a new camera + lenses is really prohibiting. The 6600 is a tempting upgrade but I just can't justify buying another camera with the same sensor. Hopefully we get the xt-4 killer soon.
Now that the X-T4 is out, did you upgrade from the a6600 :O
@@ealxele I wish I had listened to myself in this comment haha! I got the A7c and it is a phenomenal camera but the FF lenses really are just big and expensive compared to aps-c. I do love my current setup but I wish I had stayed with the A6000 series, especially now that there are some really great lens options out.
@@JohnDennery Ah sometimes you just have to listen to your gut! Haha sucks but I'm sure you appreciate the higher quality from the FF setup ;)
I was really super close in considering the XT4 vs a6600 and ended up staying with the a6600.
Thank you man for this video
You are the best man 😊 Thanks for update. It will make my decision easier 😅 I will take both cameras xD Based on my research 😅
Been waiting on this!
Hope it delivers
Thank you so much for this video!!
You are so welcome Jessica! Thank you for being part of the channel.
I am from Latvia and I have SONY A7III. Official price is 2000 euro, but I bought american version for 1792 euro.
Great Video! My concern is that I am a wildlife photographer, a6600 has greater reach because of its crop factor, would the picture quality be degraded in comparison to A7III since they both have excellent AF systems?
For video use only: a6600 or A7iii?
What’s your take on lowlight with aps-c at f1.4 or f1.8 vs full frame? Is there a big differences between crop and full even if the crop is at f2.8 or lower?
Hi Cody. There are more elements at play (ex. resolution of the sensor). in low light, a wider aperture will be better if all other things are equal. Watch this video for some info: ua-cam.com/video/O9hzhFpHEf4/v-deo.html
Beautiful shots! Very crisp
Oh wow - thanks so much!
Good review sir
I have the Sony A7IV. Should I get the a6600 to extend the zoom range on APS-C due to the crop factor for wildlife photography? I know I can use APS-C mode on my A7IV but at a lower resolution than the a6600. Considering the new Sigma 60-600 or the Sony 200-600.
Thanks from Brazil for the infos !!!
Love all the Cleveland shots. 🙌
Good eye!
Someone mentioned we should wait for the A7IV but I don’t know if it will have a usable screen for when we are walking and videoing ourselves and it may be out of our budget.
i am a beginner and I want to work on still photography more especially night photography. Which one is good for that
Great Comparison job!
Country price variance is interesting.
Here in Australia as of today 28/5/21
I can get: A7iii Body for $2,300 au = $1,780 US
and the A6600 for $1700au = $1,310us
Great video what multiuse lense would you use with the A7 iii please and what fast ssd card would you use.
The reall issue with crop sensor camera is
Produces lesser bokeh.
More chromatic abberations.
Lesser dynamic range.
And the real issue with a full frame is the lenses and camera bodies are more than twice as expensive and twice as heavy.
Which camera is more suitable for filmmaking a7iii or a6600. ? Little bit confuse in both cameras.
I’m going with the future a7C, full frame with smaller body, lol. Best of both worlds. I would love to see the picture stills quality comparison between these two! Great video!
I can't wait to see that one!
Finally got it, many days i waiting for this vedio.
I got you taken care of!
which one did you get?!
Great content
Hi, please can you tell me which camera is better Nikon D850 or A7iii
Just found the video I was looking for, exact to the point and worth watching it.
I prefer a7iii for its wide field and low light performance..

love the a6600 so much I cant sell it but picked up the fx 30 it is a different beast when it comes to video.
I am planning to buy A6600, but i have a confusion, Is the stock lens 18-135MM good enough or should i just purchase the body only and then buy the lens separately ?
hi bro. can i use canon EF lenses with a6600. eg. canon EF 50mm f1.8. if yes which adaptor i use?
Hi, please suggest me a new camera between Canon R6 , Sony a7iii and Sony a7iv which shall be released by end of the year.
My primary usage is portrait photography and product photography. I rarely shoot videos. I don't need Sony a7 r series. I don't need such high resolution.
I have not invested so far in lenses. So switching between platforms is not an issue for me.
All three would work very well. Go hold each (when available) and see which "feels" good to you.
Budget wise,. Eos RP,. Specs wise R6,.
If okay wait for a7iv
SONY A7 III WITH FE 28-70MM F/3.5-5.6 OSS LENS - INR 148,900 (2033 USD)

Sony A6600 WITH 18-135MM LENS - INR 143,900 (1966 USD)
Sony A6600 Body only - INR 105,490 (1450 USD)
If you see the difference with kit lends, its pretty negligible.
but buying a body only A7II and buying lens separately, full frame lenses are 100 USD plus here in India, for decent ones.
On the other hand
FUJIFILM X-T4 WITH 16-80MM LENS - INR 174,800 (2400 USD)
FUJIFILM X-T4 Body only - INR 133,900 (2400 USD)
I am a beginner and want to grow. my current usage will be HD, for it Fuji is better but I want to start making content in 4k, Fuji is better again here too. I may be wrong :D
and I heard Sony's HD is just okay, compared to its 4k
XT3 might be an option, but the difference in cost between XT3 and XT4 is about 350 USD, I might as well invest somehow.
I love Fuji's design, mainly because of its retro style, but I need solid auto focus
and low light capability as most of my work is between 6PM and 10PM, after my day job.
I am so confused.
Want to invest because I will be using this camera for next 5 years at least.
I absolutely love the X-T4 and if I was getting aps-c and didn't need unlimited recording - that's probably what I would get.
@@TechGearTalk XT4 it is then, I hope A7IV doesn't kill it before I save enough money

Thanks

What camera / Lens are you using for this video?
I had a question for you. I was wondering if you could help. When I'm
shooting video on the Sony A6600 with lighting set up. I notice in the
beginning of the video the set is nicely darkened and the lighting is
perfect. After the first 10 - 15 seconds the camera seems to be doing
something to adjust the lighting. It starts to make everything lighter. I
lose my effect. I notice it when I play the video back on my computer
and I can see everything. Is the camera on some sort of setting that I
need to turn off? I am a beginner at this hope you can help.
I appreciate your video and the information. I am considering a A6600 paired with a Sony FE 12-24mm F2.8 G lens. I use it hiking and backpacking for wide angle landscape shots. You said the A7III would be better for wide angle so that gives me pause. So concerns about my setup? TY
What did you film the A roll with in this video?
Hi I'm in Norway and are planing to get into real estate video and are looking at one off these Sony's A6400 $1289, A6600 $1873 or the A7iii $2344 that's all body only. But when add a Tamron 11-20 2.8 for $1172 to the A6600 compared to the Tamron 17.28 2.8 on the A7iii for $1055 the cap between those to are only $235 So its making the decision between the 6600 and 7iii really as good as the 6400 is I have to look at my next purchase as a long time investment and the 6400 might be to old then. But I'm leaning towards the A6600
Hi wanted to ask what lense your using on the Sony A7iii?
