- The updated fruit and vegetable strainer is Model KSMFVSP
You also need the Food grinder Model KSMFGA
This method saves so much time in the kitchen. Anyone with a kitchen aid mixer and a garden with tomatoes should have this attachment.
That one seems to work great. Love my KitchenAid attachments.
We ended up buying the new model that came out this fall also. Works fantastic
What a great idea. Thanks for all the detail
Yes!! A super informative video!! Thank you!! Will this device work with whole tomatoes, directly out of a can?
That is a great question. I don’t see why it wouldn’t work. Whole tomatoes out of the garden are perfect. It’s worth a shot. Never tried to process anything that’s already been canned. I believe that’s what you are asking.
The wrench which comes with the meat grinder works on the front retainer nut. I got my fruit and vegetable strainer as part of a kit, which came with my K6-Pro at Costco 30-years ago. Still working fine. And the pusher you were using later, is the wrench.
Hey Alicia just wanted to ask if you could help me with some thing I’m confused about and kind of frustrated why is it that KitchenAid advertises on the box that the fruit and vegetable strainer is complete yet they don’t tell you that you’re supposed to use the piece that comes with your meat grinder which I think it’s pretty gross because anything that meat has gone through I do not want to use on my fruits and vegetables 😩
Are you not cleaning it after grinding the meat? If you’re cleaning it you’re fine. If not… gross.
@@NoReverse77 Yes ma'am I do or I can wash it, but I still grossout knowing that meat is used through that grinder... Washed or not🤮 I'll just have to bite the bullet and buy a second grinder😭 Thanks for the input
Wash with soap and water, and then rinse in hot water with about a quarter teaspoon per quart of water of unscented chlorine bleach. (It takes about 6-quarts in most sinks to get enough water to cover the meat grinder.
@@dianaV1212 I wanted to add that after I use my K.A. strainer or grinder I washer it well. I also run moist bread threw it as an extra. If you put meat and potatoes on a dinner plate then wash it it's no different. It's all good. I also have a professional tomato processor I use. I can 150 pounds of tomatoes, apple butter, peach jam every summer. Plus make pineapple and meat sausage. No problems. Happy canning
So sorry I didn’t see this before. I searched Amazon and wasn’t able to find the fruit and vegetable strainer by its self and they all included the meat grinder attachment. It looks like you got some good replies to your question thankfully.
You’re a beautiful lady 🌹
we freeze them :-)
We froze all of our tomatoes throughout the year also but due to freezer space we had to get them all canned.
I am not mature enough to watch this video with giggling like an idiot watching the skin and pulp come out 😭😭😭
Glad we could entertain you 😂
Why
Why what? Sorry not sure what exactly you are asking here. If the question is why buy the attachment then that’s because it saves us a ton of time. Pick from plant and shove it through the processor and you are done.
If that doesn’t answer please let us know what exactly it is you are asking.
I bought this Chinese piece of crap. It was useless. I returned it. Don't waste your money.
What was the issue with it? Ours works great. We bought the new model and have a back up now. We’ve ran hundreds to thousands of tomatoes through with no issues.
But we don’t get anything for making this video so I’m not trying to convince anyone. Just trying to show how to save an enormous amount of time. Sorry it didn’t work for you.
