Looks like y'all had a LOT of fun on Memorial Day! I am SO GLAD Gary found a grill that he likes. The old one had indeed seen better days. Come ON grilled beef! Grilled pork! Grilled chicken! Bacon, eggs and pancakes for breakfast on the new griddle! Love a man who loves to grill/griddle!

The new grill /griddle looks great for cooking up breakfast, lunch, and dinner. A nice smoke for the big or little family and friends . It's all in the flavor of time .
I really LOVE the way Mel voiced her opinion to Gary about which grill to buy. Wow. Too bad more women don't know how to communicate that way. You could tell and see it in her facial expressions how much she wanted Gary to be 100% happy with his decision. I love this couple's love for each other!!!
I was with Mel on this one - given the size of your family (and hosting people) - the larger the surface the better...plus, yall are planning to build an upper deck so the shade/grill cover is coming ;D
I say it all the time, Gary is so much like much late husband Frank. He’s constantly reminds me of him, he would definitely love watching him, building, fishing, barbecuing , etc. Love you guys 💖✌🏼💖

Gary's old grill looks like our old one. We used it so much it just finally burned out and we couldn't use it anymore. Happy he found one he liked.

Personally I'm a charcoal kind of guy, but I was impressed to find the world of propane inferred cooking. I used to love cooking chicken over charcoal with wood chips, but found that using Adobo while cooking with inferred, has a very similar smoked flavor.

Gary you should use the lid from old BBQ to add over your grill. Maybe you can either use it like a dome lid or if you weld, perhaps ask David to help weld it onto your grill!

Hi GUYS, I have a small bbq plate I take everywhere and if I need a smoker I use a damp beer carton after drinking the contents ,some hickory shavings and piece of alfoil and it works nearly every time I've used it . But really works well on flat plates rather than grills. It's worked well for me for about forty years but it is trial and error. Have fun guys 😊
Maybe you could use the old grill lid for your griddle. Clean it up, paint it with black enamel paint and good as new. It's just a thought. My mind is always working on uses for things. I really enjoy watching your wonderful family. Have a good one.

Guessing ya'll know that you can buy a small stainless steel box for smoking on a grill. I have one and it works well.
Choose the wood you want. It will work in the meantime.

Looks like a good one. Maybe you could fabricate a top for the right side.About 6 years ago, my youngest son and u bought a big grill set up at Academy. But I think one mistake was made. I've heard that you should always put a gravel layer on the briquette side . And it didn't happen so in a few years, the grill bottom a d smoker bottom burned out. And we never once used the butane sides . Didn't even buy a big tank. Haven't even used it for a few years now. Oh well, live and learn.

Can’t beat a gas grill for economic reasons and efficiency reasons. So fast, simple cleanup and easy to maintain.

That’s great choice! I would want the same one u have!!! I had n miss my Weber Summit the biggest grill that I had for 19 years n I had been replace inside the whole parts third times n kept it cover! That’s my best grilling even in winter time!! Congrats Gary/Mel the chefs😊❤
OMG yes! Grill griddle AND lid. I've been looking at them myself for father's day for hubby and it drives me crazy so many griddles do not have lids, finally found one!! Can we say rust and bugs manufacturers 🤦

The shot of them walking into Home Depot cracked me up - in our local store, the front is full of picnic tables and grills, but nary a riding mower in sight. But then, we live in the desert (like they used to) and most people don't have lawns or large fields. Our landscaping is mostly rocks, shrubs, and cactus. However, in their side of the "water line" of the country, lots of riding mowers make more sense... regional marketing in action!! 😋

Howdy ya’ll! So happy GRy got what he wanted! Good choice! Also wanted to recommend the Mastergrill Smoker. It’s electric but works so great! We’re on our second one lol. Ribs fall off the bone and brisket and chicken are off the wall. My hubby even does our Thanksgiving turkey in it. Good luck to you both. I love watching your progress. Blessings to you all!

I don’t blame ya for choosing tht one Gary 👍 I absolutely love my Blackstone grill, on which I have also put a steak or 2 on before also. But I do have a big propane grill also. And if the power goes out u still have a way to fix ur dinner or whatever. I did get a side burner on my gas grill and I only use it if I need to boil something. I actually use it a lot for the kids to fix mac & cheese on, LoL. And my old grill I kept the ceramic grill plates off from it because I love cooking over some wood. I can’t eat the smoked food but I love just cooking over open fire. And tht is y I’m keeping those things, always useful. I’m sure u guys will have a summer full of delicious food with the new grill. I have a grill and a big outdoor griddle. The griddle didn't have a lid, hubby got on line found on the was universal and fits perfectly. You do not want one without a lid but you may can find a lid pretty cheap online
Use the grill from old grill for on open fires to cook on when camping
I cover my small tabletop flat grill with aluminum pan upside down and then the vinyl cover that came with it

Paul The Bearded Carpenter can teach you how to build a smokehouse. A SMOKE HOUSE! Cold smoking is amazing, Paul just gave me some smoked cheese. Dream big :)
It’s taken me years but I’ve acquired a smoker/grill combination (pit boss) and a griddle (blue flame) and a Holland grill/oven. There are times I’ve got all of them in use at the same time . But depending on what the meal is dictates what is in use. The Holland is a indirect heat so grilling to roasting a turkey or baking pizza is where it shines.
