there will be more content fairly soon :> i have another video that's essentially done about my least favorite mousepad that's come out recently (or ever), and i'd really like to talk about the htx mini soon. thank u for watching!! and again, if you are looking for the speed of a glasspad from a cloth pad, this is probably not the pad for you. it's fast, but you'd probably want to look into things like the shidenkai, raiden, fnatic jet, egg mpc, vancer ace, etc.
a cloth pad would have to be exceedingly good to get me to switch from glass. mainly due to the non gameplay related aspects of living with glass, like the fact that the pad doesn't wear down over time, doesn't lose speed with cleaning and maintenance is so much much easier to the point that I can fully clean the pad to get that "like new" feeling literally 5 minutes before a scrim, etc. edit: also with glass speed doesn't vary with humidity
quite fair, i imagine humidity must be pretty annoying where you live too. while i agree that glass pads are objectively better in terms of durability, i think cloth slowing down is a bit of an overblown issue. if you main glass you'll experience slowdown in the form of skate wear too, but you don't really notice bc it's so gradual. it's cheaper to replace skates, but it still does mandate replacing them fairly often if you want that "like-new" speed again. while day to day variations are more common with cloth, you will adapt to them subconsciously. unless you live a really humid environment, i don't think the "glass will be the same experience every single time you play" has that much practical benefit.
@@pinguefied yeah it definitely made me more picky when it came to buying my first pad here when I got back into gaming during covid, I knew I'd have a miserable time if I just went and bought another steelseries qck heavy lol. in the end I went with a zowie gtfx which I honestly loved and I wish more people knew about it and sung it's praises, was a really nice middleground between cloth/hardpads where the mouse didn't dig into the surface much with a lot of pressure. eventually it developed slow spots with frequent use and multiple cleans after ~3 years though
@@pinguefied to be fair I've never used a cloth pad with a sleeve, might just be the case that day to day variations on cloth are less noticeable with a decent sleeve mitigating that also wrt skate wear slowing down over time on glass, since that happens on the mouse itself imo it's much more manageable since there are no slow spots on more heavily used portions of the pad. with cloth pads that gets particularly annoying for me since I very rarely change my peripherals unless they wear out to the point of becoming a major annoyance. since ~2011 I've only bought 4 pads total going from a goliathus speed to a qck heavy to the zowie gtfx and then to the skypad 3 (and the only reason I changed from the qck was due to moving to malta and not bringing my PC stuff lol)
this will sound like i'm making it up. i predicted with a friend years ago that a hexagonal shape would solve the consistent friction problem after I saw that famous hexagons are the bestagons video.
currrently running an xsoft k83 with artisan dots setup with 2 dots touching on the top 2 corners + 2 dots bottom corners about a dot size apart and this is easily the most unique experience I have gotten from any artisan product / any aim related peripheral ever. The plushness of the xsoft barely slows down speed if at all with this combo and it is a very very odd experience 10/10 recommend trying this out if you want something unique! W Video tho🤝
Your video editing style is so beautiful to watch I love your cinematic scripting and soundtrack choice 😭I feel like im watching an actual movie. My Key83 is shipping out soon, this has me so much more excited !!
Good videos, good formatting, good aim, anything and everything. Keep up what you’re doing. Def gonna be up there with the likes of viscose when it comes to aiming and review videos. I fw ya style mane👍
have you tried vaxee's "pc" pad? it also has a texture i'd describe as hexagonal, as well as a really interesting folded edge instead of regular stitching
waow didn't expect to see you here i haven't tried it, but from photos it doesn't look like it has a hexagonal weave like this one. it's interesting that that's how it feels though,, how do u like the folded edge?
@@pinguefied i've been a fan since ur tf2 video :-D i dont use the pc as after trying it for a couple weeks i realized i only really play my best on slower surfaces like the saturn, hexagonal might not really be the correct term for the pc i guess, but to me it felt very consistent on x/y and has sort of a repeating pattern that u see if u look at it from further away
@@zambz5328 that's rly cool!! i wonder if u would be a demon with the type 99, i had to crank my sens up to use it but my initial flicks still felt crazy also i'd love to know how you ended up aiming like you do, did a player inspire you or was it something that came naturally to you? and have you made active efforts to change your style over time? :o
@@pinguefied i was watching elacour vids before i started playing, so probably some osmosis through that i used to fully fingertip up until like late 2023, switched to claw as fingertipping fucked my wrist up, also slowly lowered my sens from about 10cm/360 when i started to never changing off 29cm/360 now, other than that not really cared about style of aim beyond trying to hit more shots
HAHA if i wasn't annoying viscose by laughing hysterically every time i got a kill with the seal, i would've kept grinding until i got an actually good seal clip
Tbh as someone who switches between different glass and cloth pads I could say the same for my Hien or any of the pads I own, Hien is just my favourite from Artisan specifically. Never liked the Otsu so I kinda don't even wanna spend money on this one since people have been saying it's like a slightly slower Otsu. Don't feel like my performance is hindered by any surface unless you force me to use some cheap mousepad that gets dead spots in less than 4 weeks.
@pinguefied Yeah like it's not exactly an Otsu I know people say it's like in between Zero and Otsu. It's essentially another balanced Artisan pad but I know I don't really want something slower than the Hien anyway and I like the X/Y speed difference. I'm one of those people who likes to try all Artisans but Imma just hold off for now until I get bored.
I’m looking into maybe trying out a glasspad for the consistency benefits, but I’m interested to know why u switched off glass Wat were the cloth benefits u wanted?🤔 was it solely for target switching
i wouldn't let my experience stop you from trying it! only after 3 years of rly enjoying it did i start to get cold feet, and it helped a lot in my mouse control journey. but yeah it's mainly bc you lose a bit of well roundedness when you lose friction as a tool for tension management and i wanted to see if i could fix that
Really interesting to see you switching back to cloth. Though I do wonder if the trade off of life span is worth it to be able to push your flick speed. I know you mentioned somewhere else that you believe that the slow down of cloth mousepads is overblown however personally my Artisan Hien XSoft developed a mud spot so bad that it made micro adjustments feel impossible. I’m not sure if my experience is a one off case or because I bought an XSoft but yeah, if you do continue to use this mousepad consistently please post an update on the pads condition. Thank you for another interesting review
Will you be trying out the lgg Hyperion? From what I’m reading, it’ll be similar to the zero but will be slightly faster so somewhere along the speed of the key83. As much as I love artisan pads, I do wish they made desk pads since I miss having the space of deskpads after switching to the cerapad kin; and the Hyperion will have a deskpad size which I’ll like if it performs similarly to the key 83. I’ve already tried the Saturn pro deskpad, was too slow for me and before I got the kin, I was on a fx zero soft xl but didn’t like the hair sticking on to the pad. I was very ocd aware about it and didn’t let me fully focus while gaming. A personal issue but I do like to keep my workstation as a clean and minimal as possible.
god yeah i miss desk pads too :( maybe i'll give it a go with that in mind, thank you!! that said, the sleeve compatibility is like 90% of the reason i use the key83, i don't think any other cloth pad can do that
@ same! For me, not having to worry about mousepad/mouse placement is a necessity and with deskpads, I just plop them down and they cover my entire desk. Even with my kin osmium, I HAVE to have it in the perfect spot. Otherwise it’ll either be too far or too close; too high or too low. I’ll look forward to your review if you ever get your hands on it. For now, I’m holding off until the Hyperion to release. I have my eyes on the key83 soft/mid, Hyperion deskpad soft and maybe the Neptune pro deskpad soft. Amazing reviews as always!
I'm curious since you mentioned it in text overlay in the video, do you have any insider info on when the artisan dots are going to be released? Viscose mentioned that she was using em in a comment reply on her op1 vid a couple months back and i've been waiting to snag em ever since lmao.
sadly i don't, i only got to try them bc i'm staying with viscose, i don't have any connection to artisan ;; from what i know, the dots are in their final version now, but we still don't know when it will be publicly available
I'm surprised you don't like the Raiden mid more. As someone who's mained glass for years, I find myself switching between glass and the Raiden pretty easy,. I haven't had to many issues with sleeves working on it as well.
maybe I'll try it again, i didn't have much luck with my sleeves and it ended up in an awkward speed range for me (i destroyed it with lexips tho, i don't remember what it was like before that). i generally prefer the shidenkai either way
@@pinguefied The most noticeable difference for me going from glass to the Raiden was my micros. The speed is still really good for target switching and I feel it allows you to stop much easier, I was having trouble with shakey landing and it helped. I've never tried the shidenkai but I've always wanted to!
For me sleeve compatibility has become one of the most important aspects of a cloth pad. That's why I got the puretrak P-51. Its pretty good with my lizard skin sleeve but still not perfect. Interesting video for my use case
key-83 with black or white EADALI arm sleeve is the best mousepad + arm sleeve combo I've tried. KIBU arm sleeve are also good according to uNlseashedjp, but KIBU do not have international shipping
I never thought I would like glass but it improved my aim by around 10%. I think it's because it made me relax my hand so much. I'll have to try this artisian. Thanks man.
What aspects of your aim did you feel were limited by glass? I play on a skypad 3.0 and feel that the lack of confidence in my wide flicks is really the only downside.
- tension management on wide flicks, it was rly difficult to stop the mouse without tension and since target switching was my current focus, it was an important downside to me. i wouldn't say i wasn't confident on wide flicks, but i was not confident in being able to track after the wide flick ended. and yeah, generally pushing speed is harder as a result of the lack of friction to work with. - the amount of pad feedback you get is usually not to the same extent of textured cloth pads like the key83 or otsu. the way finger dragging works is also fundamentally different, where it helps with hard stops but is awkward with braking for more continuous motions. with cloth i'm able to glide my fingers on the pad and not affect my aim at all, but with glass, i have to have it not make contact outside of using them for stopping. - skill variance. i've been a bit more anxious lately and my readjustments in tracking occasionally got a bit too aggressive with glass; it's nice to have a little bit of extra stability from the pad on days like that. - flick-micro blending. due to bunch of factors like tension management and feedback, having both snappy but seamless micros post-flick is notably harder on glass, which is why static is such a difficult category for it. - generally microadjustments with glass is a mixed bag. on one hand it's really easy to start the motions and easy to remain fluid, but on the other hand, it's difficult to be as confident and stable with faster ones. i felt like a balanced pad could theoretically give the best of both worlds. - thanks to the higher friction and the ease of finger drag, the tension release becomes a much easier technique to pull off with cloth. this is the main reason why i wanted to give cloth a proper go. - a lot of the popular glass pads feel a tad bit small for me x_x
After using the hayate otsu for a year then trying a skypad 4.0 for 2 weeks I realised I liked faster speed but the 4.0 was too fast and I couldn’t stop, been using the raiden soft for 3 weeks and fell in love perfect balance between fast and stopping for me!
Could you expand a bit on the no sleeve thing? I don't like using sleeves and the hien soft was too abrasive for me but the zero mid was fine. Would the key83 mid also be fine then?
I have tried it now: it's very similar the cw-x sleeve but slightly looser: it has a sorta silky texture to it and is very flexible and thin. longest "gaming" sleeve in my collection too. I found the elastic band a bit tight around the bicep and mine r definitely not big. this is probably the fastest sleeve of the bunch and is pretty good at directional consistency. you can definitely feel a bit of a tug on certain arm driven movements but for the most part, it's very smooth and quick. I still don't really like it better than the Shein sleeve tho, I don't really want that much speed and the tug does occasionally affect aim. also don't understand how people use this thing on the zero, it wasn't good at all for me there :( overall very solid but nothing to write home about on pads other than the key83. i think thicker sleeves offer the greatest consistency between x/y, which i've found rly important to intuitive aim. though at the perfect pad angle and within a certain arm range of motion, it does provide the most glass-adjacent aiming experience.
how does key83 mid compare to your experience on the zero mid in terms of speed and feel? also love these style of vids, amazing vibes and love listening to them, cheers!
sorta similar! both very balanced but the zero is definitely slower. it's been quite a while since I've had access to my zero mid so i can't give you too much more detail than that haha
i have both and while the ac2 def has low variance between the two, it isnt better in that regard than the key83 imo its not bad at all in that aspect but it doesnt fill the same niche at all as the key83 and i dont think of it as an alternative
@pinguefied a cordura pad with a glaze or resin on, so a fast pad with 80-90% the speed of a glass pad. It has a some foam to it so you can push down if you like. I can easily glide my arm using a sleeve and since I been using dot skates and glass skates on it I get a similar feel to when I use my glass pad.
Oh no. Your 2 year review of the HSK Pro finally got me to order one(got the BlueWave, pictures don't do it justice, it has glitter in it!). Now I'm considering a new mouse pad. :D
@@zeththedarkmage it's got glitter?? i might have to tap in. you probably should get used to such a strange device before making any other changes to your setup LOL but that said i've kinda been cooking with that combo,,
Hey, Pingu. I see you tried Kanami Sai glasspad. It's my main now. I'm still waiting for my Beast preorder. Can you kindly compare them? In terms of speed, control, surface?
my very brief thoughts from extremely insufficient testing (about 5 minutes of gunfire with fresh jades) - i am not a fan of the kanami sai. it is a lot slower than i expected, but not in a way that feels productive? static, dynamic, and even the feel on my arm, it all feels like the pad is fighting my mouse movements in some way. very strange feeling from a glass pad, and i'd need some more time with it to figure out why it feels so sluggish to me, but it's like i'm trying to fight a magnetic force: a constant pull in the opposite direction that makes me really uncertain of all my mouse movements. it is quite smooth though!! it's also a bit smaller than the beast, while being about double the thickness. - the beast is faster, more textured, and more responsive. it lets your mouse control shine though very well, but also showcases all of the inaccuracies in your aim.
@@pinguefied Thanks! I replaced with Sai my Razer atlas. And all what u mention about "fighting surface" i was feeling about atlas, lol. Sai for me alot more responsive. Fast and controlled. But i agree with you, sometimes i feel like i want more freedom. That's why o ordered beast. Fun fact, i was compared Kazemi and Sai, and Kazemi was slower and more "fighting surface" for me. But so many ppl called it "best of the best". Huh. Looks like i need to try Sp-004 before my Beast arrive. What do you think, is it better pad, than Kanami Sai?
@@LeonidEr hmm that's strange. I didn't really get that feeling at all from the Kazemi. It has a similar pulling feeling but not at all on my arm or on static friction, which made it a lot more functional for me. maybe it's skate variance or just your preferences, but if you like the sai, don't let me stop you :> the beast will be v interesting for you to try i'm sure, even if you don't end up maining it
So I have decided to go to glass for a whole other reason. My main mouse pad is hien but my problem with it is every time I wash it the consistency isn't the same as a new one no matter how good I wash it and you can feel it near the edge of the mousepad.
haha i only became disillusioned with them after 4 years and holding myself to a ridiculous standard for aim (spending too much time watching viscose's gameplay)
i have a fully scripted and voiced review for the palette done but i've been way too lazy to get background/applicable footage for it 😭 also sucks to be in australia and not have my other balis to use as reference footage, like when i mention the squiddy
This is wild timing for it to come out today. I just bough an azeron and while im waiting for it, im figuring out my mouse situation ( coming from a g604 and MTG mat for fps games LMFAO). I was thinking about going with a type 99, zero, and a glass pad and just seeing what I like. Maybe in a few years Ill change to the direction I prefer. Is this video anti glass sentiment?
no i still love glass! it felt limiting for a few aspects of aim but that only happened after 3 years of maining glass haha i would recommend it if you are interested in the infinite durability, but otherwise the zero soft is a bit safer
I've been maining an sp-004 and hsk pro (htx mini and htr pro on the way). An air purifier solves most of glass's grievances, but I'd love to go back and see if cloth can really offer any benefit at this point. btw how do you even get artisan dots?
i haven't heard of anybody who was able to use glass skates long term; either the pad wore down or the skates did, or both LOL i can't recommend them unless you don't have this experience
@ thanks for taking the time for replaying bro. I just bought the wallhack 4.0 and I was about to quit it. That is why I was checking other pad options but then I got the obsidian pro air skates and I starter to love the pad… how important is to chose the correct mouse skates for this kind of imput! What are your favorite ones that you can recommend to me?
have you tried the soku fujin? I can't really find a trusted review and most of them contradict eachother. just wondering on if i should just pull the trigger and buy it or go with a safer option
I don't understand how everyone says the Key83 is so good for its directional consistency. I got my Key83 soft and the x-y difference is so noticeable I was extremely disappointed after seeing every other review saying that it's the most directionally consistent cloth pad. Not sure if it's just my copy or the pad's just like this but either way it's just not it
maybe it's because you're accustomed to slower y movements and this one is slightly faster y than x, so it feels more substantial? or it could be your copy, idk
@@pinguefied I just tested a few of my favourite mousepads to compare it with the Key83, the zero soft and venus pro. I tested them by using them normally vs using them 90 degrees flipped. Zero soft had slightly slower X than Y and venus pro had slightly faster X than Y, but in normal use, I don't notice the X-Y difference at all probably because of how the differences aren't as huge. Swapping between the two I also didn't have any problems despite the X-Y speeds being opposite to each other. I came to a conclusion that small X-Y differences in pads aren't as noticeable to me regardless of whether X is faster than Y or vice versa, but the fact that the Key83's X-Y difference is noticeable to me just.. disregards the whole purpose for me to buy this mousepad. This is my experience on the Key83 soft and I am aware that it's not supposed to have 0% X-Y difference and others' experiences could be different, but I just wanted to share my experiences + I had nowhere to vent my disappointment on this pad after hearing so much good things about it. Sorry about that
just picked up a hayate otsu xsoft recently wonder how this and other new artisan pads would compare its super fast until its not after you reach a certain point of speed you begin to immediately feel that "textured" feeling this also happens if you press into the pad harder at less speed depending on how much you press into it what id be most curious in seeing is how it would feel to have that specific weave or say an otsu or zero etc with this added weave if it has all net positives that is its possible some people may not appreciate having that extra dexterity in diagonal movements but to me it sounds really fun to use if the otsu had the capability to move that way it would be very interesting although i like the way it is ive been using a faster sens since i got the pad for multiple reasons but it still is more controlled than my old muddy amazon pad while remaining lightning fast its super easy to stop even when playing on ludicrous sensitivities but i can imagine this pad being playable on ultra low sensitivities as well so its really balanced in both directions and could probably be used by just about anyone although i have no experience with other artisian mousepads this feels like it falls under a category of its fast while being controllable enough for 99% of people so long as they use the proper mouse combination that works for them like if you cant handle a really fast surface than a ultra lightweight 30gram fingertip mouse combo with this on a fast sensitivity might be difficult to control although i am running a lamzu maya fnatic edition (smol not the x variant also webbased is annoying lemme know if i made the right choice lol i tried to pick the one that would fit me better but there wasnt that much info on the real differences aside from the actual size anyways) so 45grams + really fast sensitivity + hayate otsu even an Xsoft otsu is probably faster than a mid zero but i have not a clue on that so decent little speed combo still controllable great pad would rec probably any artisan products 👍
@@pinguefied i usually write comments on my phone and the autocorrect is broken so sorry if i try to use punctuation it autocorrects to no punctuation making me rewrite things twice for it to stay for each individual word that needs punctuation lol
It's cool that you found a cloth pad you can enjoy again, and really great video! However, I am concerned with longevity. Pads always feel great in the first 2-6 weeks, and then slowly degrade from there. If you're still on this thing 2-3 months from now, and still find it just as consistent, it will be a miracle for cloth. That's why glass is kind of still king imo. Unless you are ok with buying 4 key 83's every year, I doubt it will ever reach the level of consistency of glass.
i don't think cloth wear is _that_ extreme on average, but yeah the infinite durability and surface consistency is something glass is objectively the best at we'll see in a couple months i suppose haha
this is why I'm debating on keeping my glasses pad honestly I think I might even just keep it for daily use and aesthetics and pull out my artisan zero when I play fps
It doesnt change anything not only mousepad can get cleaned but if you play on a glass pad youre gonna buy new skates every month so 12 skates a year yeah good luck with that and not gonna lie im top 10 in some aimlabs official exercise and i did just as well on my 4 years of use razer gigantus than i do on my brand new artisan zero mid. And im not beaming more than i used to in apex since a one clip is a one clip so i dont know where all that cloth pad wears out so much cuz i kept a pad for 4 years and didnt impact anything i cleaned it every 3 months tho. I also have lamzu maya x and at the end of the day it aint changing much from my superlight or thorn all this stuff is really REALLY superficial. Only thing that really matters is monitor and pc
I have the exact same issue with my arm on cloth, I got two artisan pads because someone told me they are super not sticky, and just switched back to glass like 2 weeks later. I just wnd up playing like 20cm in game so I can just my wrist, glass is just right for me
@@AminuddinAiman-o7x no it's a skate made by artisan, the company that made this mousepad. i'm staying with viscose who has some connections to the owners of artisan, so i get the opportunity to try them early
I relate a lot about having issues with your arm feeling stuck in the mud with cloth. Were you able to find any solutions with your time with a hien? Do you think the mid/soft variants of the key83 can impact sleeve compatibility or the feeling of arm being stuck to the pad?
no :( the closest thing i had to a solution was buying a roll of uhmw tape and attaching it to my sweater lmao. the procision was okay on a few cloth pads too i had way more luck with the key83 mid in terms of sleeve compatibility. it might just be the plushness of the soft allowing my arm to press into the pad under pressure and get stuck though

i havent found another aimer I relate to with these thoughts on glass vs cloth until this video. Glass solved a lot of my same problems, but this pad looks really impressive as someone who sticks constantly. My only concern is still as it is cloth is humidity, im someone who sweats unfortunately :/
I had the contrary effect. Switched from a Skypad 2.0 to an Artisan Raiden XXL and I downright regret it (although the size is pretty nice). I’ll probably wait for a speed glass pad that doesn’t have some cringe anime girl that comes in 500x500 before switching back.

a cloth pad would have to be exceedingly good to get me to switch from glass. mainly due to the non gameplay related aspects of living with glass, like the fact that the pad doesn't wear down over time, doesn't lose speed with cleaning and maintenance is so much much easier to the point that I can fully clean the pad to get that "like new" feeling literally 5 minutes before a scrim, etc. edit: also with glass speed doesn't vary with humidity
quite fair, i imagine humidity must be pretty annoying where you live too. while i agree that glass pads are objectively better in terms of durability, i think cloth slowing down is a bit of an overblown issue. if you main glass you'll experience slowdown in the form of skate wear too, but you don't really notice bc it's so gradual. it's cheaper to replace skates, but it still does mandate replacing them fairly often if you want that "like-new" speed again.
while day to day variations are more common with cloth, you will adapt to them subconsciously. unless you live a really humid environment, i don't think the "glass will be the same experience every single time you play" has that much practical benefit.
@@pinguefied to be fair I've never used a cloth pad with a sleeve, might just be the case that day to day variations on cloth are less noticeable with a decent sleeve mitigating that
also wrt skate wear slowing down over time on glass, since that happens on the mouse itself imo it's much more manageable since there are no slow spots on more heavily used portions of the pad. with cloth pads that gets particularly annoying for me since I very rarely change my peripherals unless they wear out to the point of becoming a major annoyance. since ~2011 I've only bought 4 pads total going from a goliathus speed to a qck heavy to the zowie gtfx and then to the skypad 3 (and the only reason I changed from the qck was due to moving to malta and not bringing my PC stuff lol)
this will sound like i'm making it up. i predicted with a friend years ago that a hexagonal shape would solve the consistent friction problem after I saw that famous hexagons are the bestagons video.

currrently running an xsoft k83 with artisan dots setup with 2 dots touching on the top 2 corners + 2 dots bottom corners about a dot size apart and this is easily the most unique experience I have gotten from any artisan product / any aim related peripheral ever. The plushness of the xsoft barely slows down speed if at all with this combo and it is a very very odd experience 10/10 recommend trying this out if you want something unique!

@@pinguefied i've been a fan since ur tf2 video :-D
i dont use the pc as after trying it for a couple weeks i realized i only really play my best on slower surfaces like the saturn, hexagonal might not really be the correct term for the pc i guess, but to me it felt very consistent on x/y and has sort of a repeating pattern that u see if u look at it from further away

Don't feel like my performance is hindered by any surface unless you force me to use some cheap mousepad that gets dead spots in less than 4 weeks.
i don't think it's that similar to the otsu in terms of friction balance, but i'm glad you're happy with what u got :D
I’m looking into maybe trying out a glasspad for the consistency benefits, but I’m interested to know why u switched off glass
Wat were the cloth benefits u wanted?🤔 was it solely for target switching
i wouldn't let my experience stop you from trying it! only after 3 years of rly enjoying it did i start to get cold feet, and it helped a lot in my mouse control journey. but yeah it's mainly bc you lose a bit of well roundedness when you lose friction as a tool for tension management and i wanted to see if i could fix that
thank you for making me purchase yet another hard cloth pad 😂 super stoked for this!
Thank you for another interesting review
is there an easy way to get artisan dots or do I need to order from jp?
not out yet :(
Will you be trying out the lgg Hyperion?
Amazing reviews as always!
loved the video! and the pad sounds so tempting :>
I'm curious since you mentioned it in text overlay in the video, do you have any insider info on when the artisan dots are going to be released? Viscose mentioned that she was using em in a comment reply on her op1 vid a couple months back and i've been waiting to snag em ever since lmao.
sadly i don't, i only got to try them bc i'm staying with viscose, i don't have any connection to artisan ;;

Was it viscose who slid the pad under the door!?😭😭

I wonder how you feel about horizon finalmouses new „hybrid“ cloth pad
Actual great opinions! You pointed out most of issue I've gone through.
Jesus christ, the bit where you were talking about water on the base of the pad, then you snort and Viscose wheezes in the background got me so good.
hahaha
I never thought I would like glass but it improved my aim by around 10%. I think it's because it made me relax my hand so much. I'll have to try this artisian. Thanks man.
if that's your use case for glass, this probably won't fit the bill haha
@ thanks for such an in depth explanation! i really appreciate it

Would the key83 mid also be fine then?
yeah it would be! i think i just have sensitive skin and the texture with humidity got a little uncomfortable on the zero
Are you going to post an update anywhere about the EADALI sleeve for the key83?
i'll just update the description, should be coming in a day or two
@ okay thank you so much :3
I have tried it now: it's very similar the cw-x sleeve but slightly looser: it has a sorta silky texture to it and is very flexible and thin. longest "gaming" sleeve in my collection too. I found the elastic band a bit tight around the bicep and mine r definitely not big.
this is probably the fastest sleeve of the bunch and is pretty good at directional consistency. you can definitely feel a bit of a tug on certain arm driven movements but for the most part, it's very smooth and quick. I still don't really like it better than the Shein sleeve tho, I don't really want that much speed and the tug does occasionally affect aim.
also don't understand how people use this thing on the zero, it wasn't good at all for me there :(
overall very solid but nothing to write home about on pads other than the key83. i think thicker sleeves offer the greatest consistency between x/y, which i've found rly important to intuitive aim. though at the perfect pad angle and within a certain arm range of motion, it does provide the most glass-adjacent aiming experience.
how does key83 mid compare to your experience on the zero mid in terms of speed and feel? also love these style of vids, amazing vibes and love listening to them, cheers!
sorta similar! both very balanced but the zero is definitely slower. it's been quite a while since I've had access to my zero mid so i can't give you too much more detail than that haha
@ that’s still great haha, thanks for the reply!
not the first, aqua control 2 has more equal friction between the two. the key 83's y axis is smoother and faster than x
i have both and while the ac2 def has low variance between the two, it isnt better in that regard than the key83 imo
its not bad at all in that aspect but it doesnt fill the same niche at all as the key83 and i dont think of it as an alternative
@@ViscoseOCE please explain more, do you mean not better in that regard than the ac2 as in key 83 has a lower x-y variance?
yea, i think the key83 is more consistent across x and y. there is still a difference but not a massive one

I really like the esptiger blaze v3 and i wonder if artisan made something similar or better to it with this new pad.
what's it like?
@pinguefied a cordura pad with a glaze or resin on, so a fast pad with 80-90% the speed of a glass pad. It has a some foam to it so you can push down if you like. I can easily glide my arm using a sleeve and since I been using dot skates and glass skates on it I get a similar feel to when I use my glass pad.

Hey, Pingu. I see you tried Kanami Sai glasspad. It's my main now. I'm still waiting for my Beast preorder. Can you kindly compare them? In terms of speed, control, surface?
i haven't actually used it very much, i'll give it a spin later and let you know
@pinguefied ty, excited for ur opinion
my very brief thoughts from extremely insufficient testing (about 5 minutes of gunfire with fresh jades)
- i am not a fan of the kanami sai. it is a lot slower than i expected, but not in a way that feels productive? static, dynamic, and even the feel on my arm, it all feels like the pad is fighting my mouse movements in some way. very strange feeling from a glass pad, and i'd need some more time with it to figure out why it feels so sluggish to me, but it's like i'm trying to fight a magnetic force: a constant pull in the opposite direction that makes me really uncertain of all my mouse movements. it is quite smooth though!! it's also a bit smaller than the beast, while being about double the thickness.
It has a similar pulling feeling but not at all on my arm or on static friction, which made it a lot more functional for me. maybe it's skate variance or just your preferences, but if you like the sai, don't let me stop you :> the beast will be v interesting for you to try i'm sure, even if you don't end up maining it

just a classic banger from pingu. and im not surprised it would be artisan that can make a cloth so good you want to use it over glass
Is this video anti glass sentiment?
no i still love glass! it felt limiting for a few aspects of aim but that only happened after 3 years of maining glass haha
i would recommend it if you are interested in the infinite durability, but otherwise the zero soft is a bit safer
I've been maining an sp-004 and hsk pro (htx mini and htr pro on the way). An air purifier solves most of glass's grievances, but I'd love to go back and see if cloth can really offer any benefit at this point. btw how do you even get artisan dots?

Sorry about that
@@crayon7646 i appreciate you sharing your findings :> that's rly disappointing yeah, i wonder why i'm not feeling the same,,
just picked up a hayate otsu xsoft recently wonder how this and other new artisan pads would compare its super fast until its not after you reach a certain point of speed you begin to immediately feel that "textured" feeling this also happens if you press into the pad harder at less speed depending on how much you press into it what id be most curious in seeing is how it would feel to have that specific weave or say an otsu or zero etc with this added weave if it has all net positives that is its possible some people may not appreciate having that extra dexterity in diagonal movements but to me it sounds really fun to use if the otsu had the capability to move that way it would be very interesting although i like the way it is ive been using a faster sens since i got the pad for multiple reasons but it still is more controlled than my old muddy amazon pad while remaining lightning fast its super easy to stop even when playing on ludicrous sensitivities but i can imagine this pad being playable on ultra low sensitivities as well so its really balanced in both directions and could probably be used by just about anyone although i have no experience with other artisian mousepads this feels like it falls under a category of its fast while being controllable enough for 99% of people so long as they use the proper mouse combination that works for them like if you cant handle a really fast surface than a ultra lightweight 30gram fingertip mouse combo with this on a fast sensitivity might be difficult to control although i am running a lamzu maya fnatic edition (smol not the x variant also webbased is annoying lemme know if i made the right choice lol i tried to pick the one that would fit me better but there wasnt that much info on the real differences aside from the actual size anyways) so 45grams + really fast sensitivity + hayate otsu even an Xsoft otsu is probably faster than a mid zero but i have not a clue on that so decent little speed combo still controllable great pad would rec probably any artisan products 👍

Unless you are ok with buying 4 key 83's every year, I doubt it will ever reach the level of consistency of glass.
i don't think cloth wear is _that_ extreme on average, but yeah the infinite durability and surface consistency is something glass is objectively the best at
we'll see in a couple months i suppose haha
this is why I'm debating on keeping my glasses pad honestly I think I might even just keep it for daily use and aesthetics and pull out my artisan zero when I play fps

I relate a lot about having issues with your arm feeling stuck in the mud with cloth. Were you able to find any solutions with your time with a hien? Do you think the mid/soft variants of the key83 can impact sleeve compatibility or the feeling of arm being stuck to the pad?
no :( the closest thing i had to a solution was buying a roll of uhmw tape and attaching it to my sweater lmao. the procision was okay on a few cloth pads too
i had way more luck with the key83 mid in terms of sleeve compatibility. it might just be the plushness of the soft allowing my arm to press into the pad under pressure and get stuck though

Hello, could you recommend me a good mousepad (mostly for tracking but still pretty good for flicking) my budget is around 60 to 70€ my mouse is op18k if that change smth
i was thinking about an artisan too
leaning towards Raiden, but feel free to give me more preferences and I'll try to narrow the search haha
@@pinguefied alr like i said before and can be a big one for keyboard or mouse or a normal id really care not that hard to wash cause ik some take like 1 or 2 days (not really important)but better if possible idc about colors if i can pick single colors and if its only disgned one it probebly is gonna work idc about shiping time (most important not a glass one cause my parents are not in the same house and its hard to moove)
@@headz3436 for tracking typically people will lean towards faster pads as they make directional changes easier, but it's not for everyone. if you think you wouldn't mind that, then i'd recommend the Artisan Raiden Mid or the InfinityMice Speed. The InfinityMice speed fills a pretty similar niche to the raiden but is cheaper and easier to come by. MattyOW has a video on both if you're curious about how they perform!
@@pinguefied alr tysm ima check them
Do u use a crosshair overlay? And if u do, is it allowed by AC?
i do, i use hudsight. i haven't had troubles with AC but it did feel like it added input delay only in Delta Force. everything else has been fine :o
@ aw man just finished dl for delta force haha - will give it a go anyways, thanks!
Enjoy the content, u recently made me switch to hsk pro and a skypad 3.0, loving it so far!
@madsnexusboy they're not that useful in delta anyway since it seems like the point of aim is where the crosshair is and that tends to migrate from the center of screen
4:45 xraypad heavy bee?
thats what i was thinking it was the actual first....
Have you tried the raiden? Did it ended up feeling sluggish too?
yeah, but i did try to use ceramic skates on it 😭
I’ve been a glass pad user for a long time and I swapped to the Raiden and the Raiden mid has been my favorite pad out of the 4 Artisan pads do u think this new Artisan pad is better than the Raiden?
if speed is what you're after then the raiden is still faster
@@pinguefiedoh okay ty
@@pinguefiedcould I ask you something it’s kinda a loaded question, I started playing on Pc from console a little over a year ago and aim training as well however over the year I’ve gained extremely bad upper back pain and right arm/shoulder pain while aiming I saw in the video you have more of ur arm on the table and I get told from a lot of videos that’s bad to do I’ve even tried recently looking up ai perfect height for desk and chair for my irl height and just continued pain in my aim journey feels staggered
@@Idont1clip i don't think it's necessarily bad to do and i don't have back issues, but sadly i'm not an expert. i'd need a lot more details to even hazard a guess, and even then it would just be a guess. i'd definitely recommend talking to someone qualified about it
@@pinguefiedokay thank you for your time though
i havent found another aimer I relate to with these thoughts on glass vs cloth until this video. Glass solved a lot of my same problems, but this pad looks really impressive as someone who sticks constantly. My only concern is still as it is cloth is humidity, im someone who sweats unfortunately :/
it's alright with sweat bc of the sleeve, but yeah it's still affected by humidity like any other cloth pad
I had the contrary effect. Switched from a Skypad 2.0 to an Artisan Raiden XXL and I downright regret it (although the size is pretty nice). I’ll probably wait for a speed glass pad that doesn’t have some cringe anime girl that comes in 500x500 before switching back.
well this isn't the Raiden haha
Sorry for asking all these questions but what glass and fingertip should I get. I love your content
what are you looking for out of a glass pad/ftip mouse?
I don’t mind I’m currently using a shidenkai v2 but speed or control I don’t mind finger tip mice g wolves is all I jnow
@@acornskie9930 if you like the shidenkai, i think it offers many of the benefits of glass and escapes a few of the downsides :o given that you've tried some enthusiast pads you should tell me your preferences if you're in the market for a glasspad. and for ftip mice, the hsk pro is still my favorite bc it's the only one (aside from the keychron m4) that's small enough to be very finger driven. are you looking for that kind of pen-like experience or would you prefer a more normally proportioned mouse that gives you room for ftip mobility?
@@pinguefiedI think I’m really looking into Glsswrks and the Beast maybe the Wallhack. But coming down to fingertip mice maybe pen like, if that’s what the Hsk pro is I’m in Australia so I don’t know if that limits things aswell. I also wonder if you still play bf4 and if there are still servers I know you play NA but surely there’s a server in between that has good ping
If you’re also wondering I’m using a viper mini as my fingertip mouse
how is the name of the second world war video game in the background?
By the way, I purchased The Beast by Tekkusai and I cant wait to have it, first glass mousepad I will have. Could you tell me if you had any issues in micro adjustments? I guess I will suck for a few weeks until I can tame that beast tho
@pingu
micros were really good with the beast so long as my tension was under control. pretty hard pad to use well but very rewarding!
fps is battlefield v
whats the game at 8:05?
gunfire reborn
and I'm waiting for my glass pad to arrive D:
dw i still love glass pads, i had to get some bg footage with the skypad 4 the other day and it was rly fun. but i also love the idea of a middle ground and i've been wanting to get better at some cloth specific techniques to see if i can be a bit more well rounded ^^
@@pinguefied I've wanted to try out a glass pad for the longest time, but me being broke I've had to ask for it for Christmas. I have only used one other pad. It's years old, and I'm sure it's terrible quality. I'm hoping that a glass pad will help me with my aim, and also with my overall aim experience.
Thanks for your videos, it was you and Viscose who got me into aim training, and I am so thankful that I did.
@@aqwekglass pads are great m8
hey what program do u use for the custom crosshairs?
hudsight 2
best 2 sleeve compatible pads are key83 otsu, would love to see other pad sleeve combos
The white nails with the white glass pad and the white HSK Pro? Go off Queen
3:18 LMAO, did you get Viscose to slide an artisan mousepad under your door? Also how did you get it to slide like that wth
yeah i did LOL
might be the first time i actually decide to pull the trigger on an artisan. bought a sp-004 a while back and iv loved it but again there are things iv missed from other cloth pads. great vid :3
thank u!!
@@pinguefied ofc always! always love the gunfire clips mixed in as well
What are your pc specs also have you tried the Glsswrks Hana
borrowing a pc atm, it has a 3080 and a 5700x3d
Cool thanks, if you’ve tried the Hana would you recommend😊
@@pinguefiedwhat are your normal pc specs also have
@@acornskie9930 i think a 4070 and 13700k
i haven't used the hana sadly :c
Thanks for replying keep up the great eork
Killer vid. Been on this glass back to cloth path aswell. Just got hen mid and was like woah. I’ve been on the PMM S1P but that’s a soft base pad but it’s insane
when is more raw input podcast
great video tho honestly might buy this pad
i just bought misscolourz a mic so we can record an ep while she's in NZ :D
@@pinguefied😱😱😱😱 lets gooooo
4:00 What game is that?
gunfire reborn
does this clear even the kazemi dont fuel my consumerism
it sounds like u love glass as a whole, ur probably chilling
i love consistency and smoothness
Another banger vid! Thanks for posting these. I just got my hsk pro and will be playing on the Key83 mid. Should I get new skates like the jade dots you were talking about or keep the g wolves default skates on?
Really cool video, I'm sure I'll watch more of your post but what kind of keyboard are you using? Is that a costum one with swapable switches?
yeah it is! the left and right side are separate as well, and columns of keys are staggered instead of the rows
even though this video was for a cloth pad the beginning segment made me switch back to glass LOL
what games are you playing in the video
gunfire reborn, battlefield v, apex legends
@ thanks
About to start my glass venture this week, vid was amazing🔥🔥🔥
Pingu didn’t forget the shein sleeve👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
thanks for making this review, was gonna buy one soon and this really helped
5:19 what game is this
gunfire reborn
This mother fer has a soothing voice. Great review
you sold me on the mouse pad when you said it's directionally consistent
i'm very curious how someone who's only used cloth pads will feel abt it haha
What keyboard are you using? Are you using some sort of split ortholinear keyboard?
it's a lily58, and yea it's split/columnar stagger
@pinguefied so you prefer that overall standard keyboard? I'm learning to game with a keyboard and have been looking at the moonlander from zsa.
@@phillyman36 i actually really like it for gaming, i never play games that require me to have binds on the right side of the board, i get a few extra thumb buttons i could use for binds, and whenever i go back to 60% boards, my left hand feels like it has to be so far away.
and yeah i really enjoy typing on it haha
@@pinguefied What happened to the azeron?
@@thedog5k i didn't bring it to australia :( i would've loved to use it on bo6

you should do a review of the cerapad kin X ive heard its really good
Does She Know ?
