Precision 1’s are great and comfortable, but they are not as sharp as other contacts.. I’ve worn them and I couldn’t really see 20/20 but I strongly recommend Dailies Total 1, they’re super comfortable with crisp and clear vision.
The challenge with Dailies Total for some folks is that their slippery texture can make them a wee bit more tricky to remove at the end of the day. I've read numerous folks having a bit of that challenge but ok for others.

@@DoctorEyeHealth - I've tried numerous monthly and daily contact lenses including Biofinity Energys that I'm doing a trial in now and the NEW BAUSCH & LOMB INFUSE (just launched mid-last year) are the most comfortable lenses I've worn so far. Low Modulus - and so they're flexible and soft - making them super comfy on the eyes but yet still easy to handle to insert in your eyes. Fabulous 134 Dk/t (oxygen permeability) and they were also designed to help tackle those with dry eyes. Of course it's not going to be a 100% fit for everyone. Night vision is also a bit crisper than a lot of other lenses - at least for me - because of the aspheric lens design....it reduces glare from lights. The other plus for me is that they are also a bit easier to remove at the end of the day versus Alcon Dailies Total. Plus Infuse has UV 2 protection. Hi, Joey. Love your videos. Can you do an episode about daily toric contact lenses for astigmatism? Also would be interested in your thoughts about "contact lense vacation" e.g taking a significant break from wearing lenses and the effect on eye health. I've been wearing lenses for 20 years, but have given my eyes a break and not worn them for two years, and my eyes feel so healthy.
@@DoctorEyeHealth So Dr. Joseph could you please advise me what I should wear for multifocal stigmatism in right eye. I would like to have a daily contact with a high water continent since those are the ones that fit better and are more comfortable.
I was wearing Acuvue Moist Toric Dailies for a few years now. Recently switched to the Precision 1 torics...wow. Huge difference. The Precision 1s daily I can wear 16 hours without issue - they feel natural. The Acuvues get tiring within 8 hours.
I use daily total lenses. I am going to buy Precision 1 too. I cannot see perfectly fine with my contact lenses that my eye doctor prescribed for me. He told me you cannot see 100% fine when wearing contact lenses as good as glasses. I really needed my contact lenses be as good as glasses. This is why I use them at parties only and use glasses when writing and working in front of PC. I hope one day we will be able to see 100% perfectly fine with contact lenses. Thanks for sharing this video. It was very educational:-)
I started wearing Bosch and Lomb lens as my first ones , I have astigmatism and my eyepower is -1.75 in both the eyes , it was hard to put them on at first but it was better later on and it feels just fine
I tried just about every lens we carry at our clinic and the precisions were the best! I wish we prescribed them more because they are amazing. The total 1’s are pretty good, but I can’t wear them as long before they dry out on me. I’m convinced it came down to the BC for my eyes.

Just started wearing contacts yesterday. The biotrue one day is now sold under Walmart's in house brand eureka. So far the only complaint I have is the learning curve of putting them in, would recommend
I personally take a nap with them on but make sure to use moisturizing drops for my eye before and after the nap....cause if I take them off I find it difficult to put it back on cause as he said its made mainly from water so it dry out and shrink in size if you take it out and leave it
My doctor said they're okay to leave in solution and put on later. They said contact lens companies just like to make money. They did however say not to wear them more than one day and also not to sleep in them or shower in them. Hope that helps. I've done it and I've had no problems.

thanks, Dr I'm a practitioner from the UK I agree with 100% in the classification of cls I use all the cls you mentioned except Alcon precision we don't have it here in UK yet, keep the good work take care Ali
After 15+ years of wearing glasses, I finally tried contacts. My first-ever have been the Acuvue Moist dailies, and they have been a nightmare. They are flimsy and do not adhere to the eye consistently, with some repeatedly crumpling up and falling out in a blink yet a different one will adhere without issue. Once in, I do admit they are nice but it is not worth 25 frustrating minutes. I need an alternative. The information in your videos is awesome, thank you! I am going to try out the Precision 1s, turns out they are about the same price as the infuriatingly annoying Acuvue Moist dailies...
My optometrist said that they are moving away from the Acuvue Moist Dailies because there are better options out there for similar pricing or just a bit more. I've tried them too and they are not for me! Vision wasn't as clear as other contacts and they don't remain as comfortable and moist for all day wear. Also the Oxygen permeability (Dk/t) is fairly low - I prefer lenses with much higher Dk/t as I do wear lenses 16 hrs/day.
I wear Acuvue Moist Daily Multifocal contact lenses. I am using mid on R eye and low on L eye. It took me quite a while for my brain to adjust. They are pretty comfortable if I handle them minimally before getting them into my eyes.
I'm using the two week Acuvue oasys for astigmatism but have just recently ordered the daily version. I'm very good about washing my hands and properly sanitizing my contacts, but I'm a bicycle mechanic and I feel no matter how clean I get my hands I can still have deposits in my fingerprints, from all sorts of grime and degreasers and lubricants. My contacts appear clean but I don't feel confident scrubbing them in my hands so daily contacts should lower the risk of contamination.
I use both the Dailies Total 1 and the Precision 1 contacts. The only annoyance I have is with how slippery the Total 1's are when I'm removing, but it's not too bad with practice. Between the two, I can't tell a difference in comfort or moisture. I wish they were cheaper, the reason I've got a supply of both is because the Total 1's were actually cheaper online due to how long they've been on the market. I look forward to the Precision 1's dropping in price over the next couple of years, because I find them easier to handle and I like that they have UV protection.
That is surprising to me that you got the Total 1s cheaper! Mind boggling. But I can tell you there are some new lenses coming very soon which you may like. Stay Tuned!
First time contact wearer here! Started 5 days ago and my Dr. gave me Precision 1 trial lenses but by the 3rd day I couldn't handle how blurry they would get toward the afternoon and my Dr. told me it was because they were drying out so she gave me Dailies Total 1 trial and these are so much better. Bad news is my insurance doesn't cover Dailies Total 1 and they cost +$900 at the office! Good thing I have a Costco membership cause they are much cheaper there, but make no mistake, they are still a pretty penny.
So glad you mentioned the My Day contacts. Total 1 was not great for me so waiting to try out My Day. If they don’t feel as good as my monthlies then I am going back to Night and Day! Thank you for all your great advice.
Hi, how about about a video for daily contacts for astigmatism + dry eyes? I've been wearing Biotrue (and have dry eye disease + astigmatism), and they are trash (dry out fast, irritate my eyes, feels like a suction cup rather than contact). My conditions worsen severally and symptoms last for days
I tried the precision ones when I first started wearing contacts and hated them. then I switched to the acuvue daily moists and those were better, but it seemed like I had redness all the time while wearing them and they always dried out pretty bad at work. now I'm trying out the Bio True one day lenses. I hope these will do better.
I have tried so many brands and I like Comfi the best, followed by Coopervision one you mentioned and also the Proclear ones. I found the Bausch and lomb ones hard to use and drying on my eyes. Focus Dailies ware very hard to remove
Omg how we need to talk!!! I love my optometrist but I always feel rushed. I’m a new contact wearer and having issues. I try not to sound like I know it all, but listening to you I try to suggest thoughts ☹️not going over well! So here is my eye list my left eye is a+ 1.75 HGH +2.50. My right eye has a stigmatism Culture axis 2.00 -.75 080.. Now these are the dailies Accu moist they are the latest that they have put into my possession. I started wearing contacts six months ago I love them when they work most of the time they don’t I have tried so many different things and so many different contacts. My latest was a bio Finity monthly I ask for dailies they said they do not carry them. I tried Bosch and Lomb ultra they said no way would not work with my eyes tried dailies something that you liked but I could not get a clear shot out of either I mostly my right I could not see any kind of distance. So at least with these new active you dailies I can see but not real close up and doesn’t work for me. And I’m really tired of feeling like I’m a bother some to my doctors do you have any suggestions
Weirdest place I’ve found a lens...behind the laundry hamper, two days later. Thank goodness I use daily disposables (though I was an ortho-k wearer for years. I was recently told by my optometrist that I’m no longer a good candidate) - always something on hand!
The pricey compromise of ceding to the Oasys w/ HydraLuxe is that they come for astigmatism, as well! Best option in the market, in terms of Dk/T and water %, coming also with the slightest light blue hue (of course none will ever compare to the dailies, but in the meantime of waiting for their astigmatism launch, it is what it is 🤷🏼♀️) 🥰💖🌸🙌🏼🌈
Anything wrong with Air Optiix? That's what I use and only order for one eye. My Dr knew I couldn't afford 2 different prescriptions so she kinda combined them. They are inexpensive compared to others. I have very dry eyes., even tried the eye duct things but didn't work. Yes, I drop mine and sometimes find it the next day 😂.
Love Alcon lenses but really struggled with the Total 1's for some reason. At first they'd make my eyes feel like they were swimming in water which I found disconcerting, then after a few hours wear my eyes would be screaming 'take them out!!' lol as they became so dry 👀🤣. I still regularly use their Focus Dailies and Aqua Comfort Plus...both sooo comfortable but appreciate not as healthy for your eyes due to lower dkt. Can't wait for Precision to be launched in the UK!!!
Hi Doctor Allen. What is your nr. 1 tip for choosing a soft contact lens for a patient? Since K-readings are seemingly a poor indicator of which lens to choose, how do you usually make your choice? Thanks a million!
can someone help me with just 2-3 simple questions? 1 - whats the best Dailies for a heavy smoker like me? 1A - also, im an UberEats motorcycle rider, and ride the roads 10 hours a day, where there's a lot of smoke, dust, debris, etc. Whats the most durable Dailies for me with a high DK/T? 2 - whats the best type of eyedrop i can bring with me everyday in my small pocket (where we always keep coins and change) where i can apply drops every hour on the dot, based on the above conditions? 3 - also, i have a habit of washing out my eyes (like i stare into the shower head for a second or two, a few times) in the shower every morning. or cup a pool of water in my hands to fill up my eyes. like straight up, heated, tap water, thats chlorinated etc. cuz i'd be wearing contacts afterwards for the rest of the day. is this an actually bad habit? i currently wear glasses (-850) and its incredibly painful on my ears, wearing a helmet (and the covid facemask) nonstop for 10 hours a day under the hot tropical sun, and incredibly inconvenient when i accidentally touch my glasses and it gets stained with oil or sweat, or it gets splashed with rain/ etc etc etc. ive considered lasik/ prk/ smile, but lemme try dailies first - i kinda like the idea that theres a layer of plastic literally protecting my entire pupil/ iris anyways.
I love dailies total one. I have very sensitive eyes and for the most part they are great. I still get times where they hurt. Probably from all the dust I'm around when working with horses. Also they cause me to have blurry vision up close like my eyes can't focus on what I'm looking at.
I just wish my eye doctor would be a little like you. First (well second) time in my life I am trying contacts. I wish that my Doc would test my eyes before he sold my monthly which is not good because my eyes are very trying. But at the same time, he ordered daily, and they are much more comfortable. I don't understand why here in the states, or let's say maybe only her in texas, they don't test the eyes for tear fluid. In Germany, the Doc puts little :Needles: in your eyes to create tear fluid so they can see what kind of contact are good for you before you spend your money. Thank you for your great vidos.
The Astigmatism in my right eye is to bad for daily soft lenses. However, I'm in the Coopervision Clariti toric monthlies which work great for me! I am just thankful I can get soft lenses in my prescription. I'ts true what you say about the lack of blue tint in them. But they have UV protection and I rarely drop my lenses so yeah :) My previous lenses had the blue tint though.
Awesome video as always ! I like the monthly b&l ultra and will have the biotrue week as the infuse is not available at my store :( how do they compare ?
Please go over contact lenses for people with high prescriptions. I have 8+ and a 9+ and want to know the best for me too. Can't normally get dailies that high.
Alcon lenses or go home! I was glad to see them bring some of that tech to a cheaper price point with the Precision 1. Out of curiosity did your practice ever find a place in the market for the oasys transitions? It seemed pretty neat, but we just couldnt find a good application for them.
I hope Alcon will bring some new monthly SCL. The first generation SH AirOptix (TRIS polymer) is a GPC creator. Wish they will develop the monthly as they do to dailies...
Doctor is it normal for the vision to be "slightly" blurrier upclose with nearsighted glasses? I got my new glasses, everything seems crisp and clear in intermediate and far distances (with ghosting double vision unfortunately which dosen't wanna go away ever 😞) but upclose it's a little blurrier, my previous glasses also had blurriness up close and I think I could see better without them while reading or doing other near work tasks.
Depends, are you over the age of 40 and have presbyopia? Do you have accommodative issues? Perhaps your glasses are just causing you do accommodate (use your focusing muscles) more - flexing the crystalline lens (which may cause a minification effect with the glasses) vs seeing without the glasses.
@@DoctorEyeHealth Lol I am 17 doctor, I didn't put in my pd measurement as it could leave my eyes in that spot for the rest of my journey with my glasses maybe that's causing issue Idk, I do have convergence insufficiency though for which I am doing vision therapy exercises (Brock String and Hart Chart) ones from past 3 weeks and I've noticed whole lot of improvement, but still it persists and hopefully would go away somehow ;)
Thank you! Yes, I have been wearing them for several months and I do really like them. But they do sit tighter than other lenses so they often feel irritated when I remove them, but your eyes may be a different size than mine.
@@DoctorEyeHealth I have been trying them for a week now. they are so so comfy. I don't feel them in my eyes but I notice after 6 hours of wearing it start being irritated don't know why. I am using Acuvue Oasis Daily originally. But again thanks for your reply
There is research for lens regeneration. Is that coming along well? That seems like a better option than surgery with fake lens that are 20x more opaque and less flexible.
Tried the CV 54% hydrogen and DT1...vision at close range was better in the CV, but DT1 seemed slightly blurry though much more comfortable and no issue taking the out. My question is, is there any real difference between the low, med and high ADD ranges that DT1 and other contacts come in please?
Can you make a video about corneal neovascularization and how to minimise the risk of that or reverse vessels growing into the cornea if we wear contact lens, please? thanks!! :D
The oasis lens is blink stabilized and I find that it does not stay in place enough for someone with higher toric RX also they would float up and rub my limbus. I like ACP. I tried precision for fit I can’t wait to see them in toric
😭😭I legit cried when I heard they don’t have for astigmatic eyes. @doctoreyehealth could you please make a video about best monthly contacts for astigmatic eyes?🥺
Thank you for all your videos. I love daily contact lenses but have a concern over the amount of waste they produce. Science Daily states - "estimates that anywhere from six to 10 metric tons of plastic lenses end up in wastewater in the U.S. alone each year." Do you know of any companies that are creating daily lenses that are better for the environment?
My eyes hated the My day lenses. It felt like my eyes was dry all the time. And it was super uncomfortable even after waiting an 1 hour to see if blinking and time would make it better. But i am on Acuve oasys 1 day and i love it. Its almost too comfortable because i would forget they are in my eyes. Taking a nap in lenses is bad. But it happens.
Ever lost a contact lens somewhere? Where is the weirdest place you have found them?
Had to remove a Rgp lens due to dust particles. Just sat down at a booth at Applebee's and the lens was nowhere to be found after i popped it out.
Could you tell me if there is a soft lens in colors for astigmatism, a toric lens...thx!

@@Kenster-man Do you think 90 Dk/t are good for contacts? Those are the ones I have right now (it’s easy vision but they also offer 171 dk/t).
We need a 2024 version of this video
I will see what I can do!
I wear Acuvue Moist Daily Multifocal contact lenses. I am using mid on R eye and low on L eye. It took me quite a while for my brain to adjust. They are pretty comfortable if I handle them minimally before getting them into my eyes.
"I know 2020 is already half over with." You didn't need to hurt us like that Dr. Allen lmao
halfway through 2021 be like
2022 over here just going down hill
I have a contact stuck under my lid tried what you said so i made appt.with eye doctor for Thursday to see if they can remove.
Stay Tuned!
Dr. Allen, I would really appreciate a video on multifocal contacts, especially multifocal toric contacts Thanks!.
How is the Costco pricing? I’m doing contacts and I’m looking to take my prescription there
Dr allen really encourage me to try contact lens for real.. i finally try daily contact with fresh kon alluring and i just ordered dailies total 1.
So glad you mentioned the My Day contacts. Total 1 was not great for me so waiting to try out My Day. If they don’t feel as good as my monthlies then I am going back to Night and Day! Thank you for all your great advice.
Congratulations on reaching 200,000 subscribers Doctor!!!
Hey doc! Could you please make a video on ICL surgery?
Hi, how about about a video for daily contacts for astigmatism + dry eyes? I've been wearing Biotrue (and have dry eye disease + astigmatism), and they are trash (dry out fast, irritate my eyes, feels like a suction cup rather than contact). My conditions worsen severally and symptoms last for days
Great Review.. Your FROG POSTER is fantastic! Please share where we can acquire that...
Haha thank you!!! I got that small poster off of amazon of all places. My clinic also has a giant copy but I am not sure where they purchased it.
I tried the precision ones when I first started wearing contacts and hated them. then I switched to the acuvue daily moists and those were better, but it seemed like I had redness all the time while wearing them and they always dried out pretty bad at work. now I'm trying out the Bio True one day lenses. I hope these will do better.
im def buying. been using monthly one's since I started but can use something more comfortable
Congrats on 200k subs! Well deserved, keep up the good work!
hey, just a heads up: i think you added a resident evil 2 remake walkthrough to the “contacts for beginners playlist” by mistake.
Doctor , could you please make a video on orthokeratology that does it really help in correcting myopia and also its pros and cons
Agreed the DT1 multifocal lenses are Ace, comfy And superb optics.
the contact stuck to the door knob joke is LMAO love your humor doc!
Here in Malaysia, for a year supply of Dailies 1 the cost will be USD $274.6....and we don't even need precription to buy them.
What is your professional opinion on rewetting drops, I think this would be helpful
Can you please do video about monthly contact lenses? retinal vein occlusions & recommended eye drops
My right eye has a stigmatism
Culture axis 2.00 -.75 080..
Great video! Was looking for a new daily lense to try out
Glad it was helpful!
What camera are you using? It's so clear!
Weirdest place I’ve found a lens...behind the laundry hamper, two days later. Thank goodness I use daily disposables (though I was an ortho-k wearer for years. I was recently told by my optometrist that I’m no longer a good candidate) - always something on hand!
Very informative and helpful. Thanks! 👀
Hi! Great videos! I wanted to know what you think about Solotica colored contacts?
I am so happy that they finally came out for astigmatism. So i can finally get my hands on them.
The pricey compromise of ceding to the Oasys w/ HydraLuxe is that they come for astigmatism, as well! Best option in the market, in terms of Dk/T and water %, coming also with the slightest light blue hue (of course none will ever compare to the dailies, but in the meantime of waiting for their astigmatism launch, it is what it is 🤷🏼♀️) 🥰💖🌸🙌🏼🌈
Thank you! Super helpful review
Can you make a video about the difference between glass and polycarbonate lenses?
Thank you for the tip to removing the Dailies Total 1 !
The Astigmatism in my right eye is to bad for daily soft lenses. However, I'm in the Coopervision Clariti toric monthlies which work great for me! I am just thankful I can get soft lenses in my prescription. I'ts true what you say about the lack of blue tint in them. But they have UV protection and I rarely drop my lenses so yeah :) My previous lenses had the blue tint though.
can you review the B&L INFUSE?
Can u please do best lenses monthly ones for dry eyes too? Thanks
Could you please do a review of the best color contact lens?
Can you please do a review for the Infusee contact lens. I trust your opinion on the contacts. Thanks
Bausch nd lomb monthly Are great contacts
Can you make a video about corneal neovascularization and how to minimise the risk of that or reverse vessels growing into the cornea if we wear contact lens, please? thanks!! :D
Can you make a video about yearly contacts?
Is aqua colour lens from lenskart good for eyes?
Can you talk about hubble contacts? I see ads for them all the time and have a hard time believing something so cheap can be healthy for your eyes!
This is such a late reply but hubble is horrible. They are legit using technology from the 80s and it is uncomfortable
I wear monthlies! All is not lost :)
Robert Wells thank you 😪
Acuvue do have lenses for astigmatism- I used them
I have the myday dailies for astigmatism and they are the best contacts I’ve had so far. They are expensive though unfortunately.
Brian Johnson thank you Ill check them out!
Precision only comes in 8.3. I'm currently wearing cooper vision biofinity 8.6. will I be able to wear the precision?
Thank you for all your videos.
I love daily contact lenses but have a concern over the amount of waste they produce.
Science Daily states - "estimates that anywhere from six to 10 metric tons of plastic lenses end up in wastewater in the U.S. alone each year."
Do you know of any companies that are creating daily lenses that are better for the environment?
Alcon.
I use Acuvue daily. I've tried the a Dailies. I don't know why, I personally like wearing the Acuvue a little more. I haven't tried the Precision 1.
Will wearing power eye glasses cause eyes to become sunken and also dark circles to form?!
I'm new to contacts and i was wondering if you can do or talk about a yearly contact lens that you think is best
please reply soon
