⚡⚡⚡ QOTD: Which Contact Lenses do you wear? Which ones are your favorite and Why? Do you have any other questions about the lenses discussed in the video?
I have been wearing the acuvue dailys. Hadn't had any problems until today when I couldn't get my left eye (the trouble one) to focus. Only had them in for like 4 hours hoping it would get better, but it didn't. Decided to take them out because I was leaving work for the day. BTW just found our videos and love them already. Your answering questions I have had a while. Thank you!
I've tried these 3 toric dailies....MyDays, Acuvue moist and Clariti1. They ALL get dry on me but Clairti1 feel the best. The other two brands leaves me constantly reaching for those wetter drops Opti-free moist. Dr A, I'm going to get the Dailies total 1 hoping they feel better.
air optix for astigmatism, and thanks to your tip about putting the line at 6 o'clock when putting them in I love them again! Can't believe my provider(s) have never told me about that, I've been wearing them for years without knowing that trick. Now they are in focus when I put them in and they stay that way all day!
I've been wearing toric lenses for NINE YEARS and this is the first time I'm hearing about that mark that tells you what position to put the lens in, its changed my life, Why has nobody told me this before???????????
Thank you for this video. I'm choosing contact lenses for astigmatism for the first time and it's really hard to find reliable info on the internet about different brands. Thank you, very helpful
@@yanelir0522 hi there! I used to order them off of Feel Good Contacts website. I quite like the whole customer experience on the website and the wait for the delivery wasn't too long
LOL I've been wearing those biofinity toric contacts since high school. I'm now 28. I've always thought that little dash mark was a torn area (something got in my eye and ripped it)
I recommend pure vision toric for astigmatism. The contacts are super clear and they have a lower water gradient of 36% which is excellent for people who suffer from dry eyes!
The first time I got contact lenses, my doctor prescribed me 1-day Acuvue Moist for Astigmatism. The problem of that lense is that the diameter is 14.5 which was really difficult for me to put in my eyes and also causing irritations. Then I switched to Acuvue Oasys, and it just got so much better. Because the diameter is 14.3, it's so easy to put in, especially for someone like me who just started wearing contact lenses. And it's so comfortable that I can wear them all day for 15+ hours and still feel like wearing nothing at all. I also tried Clariti 1-day Toric, but as soon as I put them in, my eyes started being drier and drier. So my favorite is still Acuvue Oasys!
Anni Dang I love them, even with my small almond shaped eyes, I love That my eyes are so hydradet and that it is one day lenses so I can have a good eye hygiene. :)
I have the SAME issue !! I got prescribed Acuvue Oasys originally but I have dry eyes and I asked for moist and they move around all the time and they burn my eyes when I put them in in the morning sometimes.
I previously used acuvue moist for astigmatism, but I found that they made my eyes feel very dry and irritated, even though they were daily wear lenses. I’m now trying biofinity toric, and I find them to be more comfortable but a bit more difficult to remove, which is a good thing I suppose, considering I once sneezed one of the old lenses right out of my eye.
Same here. Moved from a daily to biofinity torc monthly and the dry eye problem is gone! Dr told me the monthlies are thicker so hold onto moisture better.
Sneezing lenses out is a new one for me. I've rubbed my eyes and got my lenses to pop out before while using air optix. Currently trying acuvue dailies and they feel fine.
Hi! I wear Cooper Vision Biofinity Toric XR. Been wearing them for about 4 years now. I used other Cooper Vision models prior. I started wearing soft contacts at age 17. First pair was American Hydron. I would say Cooper Vision has been the best brand for me. I have had many different brands over the years and I have a lot of astigmatism. I don’t understand why other companies don’t increase their power ranges like Cooper Vision. They are able to do it but for some reason only want to fit the more common astigmatism patient. The biofinity toric Rx provides crystal clear vision. The lenses never go blurry. I actually forget they are on my eyes. Very comfortable.
I’m wearing biofinity cooper visions and I go blurry and is clear I turn my head and my vision is clear it’s so inconsistent idk if I need toric or not
I’ve always had the Acuvue types of contacts and for years since the Oasys came out I loved them! I even tried a trial of a different brand for monthly that didn’t work out for me with my astigmatism, it felt like my eyes were very dry and almost heavy feeling! I even had trouble taking them out. So I let my eye doctor know how I felt about the monthly’s and just kept with my Acuvue Oasys since I love them so much.
Hi, so i have these acuvue lenses and i can see two lines and the word ok on the lense. Do you know where those thing should go.? like, is the word ok supouse to go on the top or the bottom? same with de lines, should they be at 12 and 6 or 3 and 9
I'm using the Acuvue Oasys toric dailies. I trialed a few other types with my optometrist, but these were the most comfortable for me. Took me about a month of daily wear to really get used to them, but a few months after starting to wear contacts, I don't even notice that I have them on. Up until about six months ago, I'd always worn eyeglasses. Love the switch; my vision is much sharper with contacts!
I started wearing contacts six months ago and I can’t seem to get a clear vision at all. And I almost feel like I’m being a pain in the rear end to my eye doctor because I’m always asking questions about different contacts that don’t feel like they’re scratching my eye or moving around all the time. I still haven’t found any real good solutions this last one that I have tried was the Bosch and Lomb ultra that dr. Allen said worked for astigmatism but they were horrible as soon as I put them in my eye it hurt like I was poking my eye could not get them to sit well they moved around every time I blinked they tried to come out. Haven’t said anything to my eye doctor yet I’m afraid to say anything more this is my fourth pair of contacts the only one that felt like it was even close was Acuvue moist. I need help
I recently tried Acuvue and really loved it. It was like looking a HD movie and the whole city of Melbourne was looking like a different world for me. Also watched a movie in theater and enjoyed it like never before in life.
Such a nice video, thank you much appreciated!! I have a question and maybe you can give me the right answer. On my left eye I have -0.50 astigmatism which is not covered by any lenses company out there. Is it right to wear a Toric lense with -0.75 astigmatism? Thank you in advance 😀
I use Proclear Toric. My optician first recommended the XR Toric but it made my eyes red after a few hours (4hours). The Proclear however was better with longer use. It never made my eyes red like the RGP or the XR. It took us almost 6 months to figure out the right prescription. I even discovered it myself by mixing and matching.
I have tried the Oasis 1 day lenses and they were awful, my eyes would get extremely dry within an hour of use....I stopped contacts for over a year after trying those. Currently I'm trying out the B&L ultra, it's only been two days so I'm not super used to them yet. They seem much better than the Oasis as I wore them for 4 hours yesterday and 10 hours today, I can't comment on vision as they aren't my exact prescription as they were a trial pair from my eye doctor.
I like the Ultra lens too. Glad your liking them. Ultra is a newer design vs the Oasys and may just fit your eyes better. Which solution does your doctor recommend for you? If you dont mind me asking.
I went to a few opticians and they simply gave me whichever contacts they have without doing any tests (other than checking my glasses). I went to 1 optometrist and they didn't seem too convincing either. Can you do a video on what eye doctors usually do to fit a patient with contacts? And who should I go to for a fitting? Seeing an eye doctor is an overkill here, usually we'd see an optician for regular glasses and an optometrist for a comprehensive eye test. If I'm seeing an ophthalmologist my eyes are in deep trouble or I'm doing eye surgery. Please and thank you!
First thank you for the video it was so much help I can’t tell in words It’s been more than 15 years I am wearing glasses and didn’t even know about this laser mark to 6 o clock does what to eye omg thank you your eyes are really beautiful 😊
I really enjoyed this video, it was so informative and I loved it!! I was wondering though what are some good brands that sell colored contacts for astigmatism?
There are a few brands for colored lenses. Astigmatism colored lenses are harder to come by. Pretty easy to find astigmatism theatrical/Halloween contact lenses. Otherwise the best colored astigmatism lenses have to be fit by your doctor in the clinic and ordered specialty lenses.
@@cassidymartinez5858 - Hey my research has come up with only Toricolor lenses, toricolors (dot) com. I'm going to set up an appointment because I'm dying to get some colored contacts for my astigmatism eyes! I don't understand why they are so hard to find, it's really annoying.
yeah, i'm also kind-of in the market for 'costume lenses' --also with astigmatism; I'm kinda skeptical of the sites I've found so far, but i'll check out toricolor
I have been wearing the extended wear, Air Optix plus HydraGlyde. It feels like nothing on your eye 👁. Very comfortable. I started with doing the mono and after a while I only need the left eye for distance. I'm getting ready to try the Comfilcon A Toric. I have to be able to sleep in my lens.
No one ever told me you have to put the dash mark down. No wonder I spend the first part of my day blinking and rubbing like crazy. I'm learning so much.
I had been wearing the Acuvue Oasys for Astigmatism product for decades, but (unbeknownst to me until I recently tried to order another year's supply) they discontinued the higher powers at the end of last year. I had no idea or I would have ordered 2 years supply! Now I have been trying multiple other brands and simply cannot achieve the same stability and comfort that I had with the Oasys product. They best I have found is the Cooper Vision Toric product, but even then I typically have issues with blurry vision upon initial insertion (I will try the 6 o'clock trick going forward, thanks for that tip!), and even at various times throughout the day. It seems that after about 6 hours of wear I need to start using hourly (or more frequent) drops to keep my eyes moist, as the contacts feel "sticky" and dont' adjust as quickly/well on my eyes as I blink and move my eyes around. Sometimes taking them out, rinsing them, and reinserting helps as well. This is al very frustrating, especially once you've become accustomed to the stable vision offered by the Accuvue Oasys product. If anyone at Accuvue is reading this, please, PLEASE bring back the production of that product in the higher powers!
Love your channel! Would you do a video on multi-focal contacts? As someone with presbyopia, and astigmatism, I'm stuck wearing contacts AND carrying readers. But B&L Ultra is coming out with lenses for both... wondering if they are worth trying. Thanks!
Hey thanks for watching Greyson! Happy to hear your loving the content. Yes I have a whole series on contacts hopefully coming out next month - including a video on multi-focals! I am excited to try out the new Ultra Toric for presbyopia too!
I just started on B&L Ultra for same issues. They are comfy and do cut down glare, but I find them difficult to remove. I have to put drops in to help loosen the suction to take them out. Still, I'll probably stick with them.
I got my trials of the Ultra Multifocal for Astigmatism. I tried really hard to get used to them, but my distance vision was never great - even after tweaking the ADD in one eye. Guess I'm sticking with my Acuvue Oasis for Astigmatism (which I love btw) and carrying readers.
@@greysonmitchem I’m having to same issue, I added 2.50 to my -5.00 and astigmatisms and couldn’t get the reading sorted. Looks like I’ll have to eventually go to progressive glasses.
@@claudiavanherp I did try the Ultras.... and really could not see well. So I'm sticking with my Acuvue Oasis 1-Day for Astigmatism (which I LOVE) and using readers. One of the best things I did for myself was to get a pair of progressive sunglasses made - Plano on the top, readers at the bottom - to wear over my contacts. I had tried OTC progressive readers, but I can't stress enough how much BETTER custom ones are.
I'm a first time wearer and I started off with the ACUVUE Oasys 1-Day lenses cause I wanted to try the thinner ones first to get accustomed to them. Your videos actually also helped me a lot in finally deciding to get one! I haven't seen things so clearly without my glasses for almost 20 years and it's such an awesome experience every time I wear my new contacts. So thank you so much for sharing all of these information. I keep learning more and more from you and am very grateful.
Maybe someone here will know. I'm trying contacts for the first time. I have an astigmatism. I'm trying all different types for astigmatism. But on the outside of my vision (not in the middle) there is a blurry or watery affect. This is only on the peripheral vision. Does this go away? Are the contacts wrong for me?
I love the AccuView Oasis for astigmatism. Last time I went to the eye doctor at Pearle vision she recommended that I try the Pearle vision brand saying it was just as good. This was a lie. The Pearle vision brand of these lenses are much thicker/denser and I wound up scratching the cornea of my of my left eye. To sum it up I won't be going back to Pearle vision after being a patient with them for over 20 years. I'm going back to my acuvue Oasis.
What are the best For astigmatism and dry eyes? I use to wear contacts but I have had a difficult time transitioning back to contacts because my eyes feel so dry. Any Suggestions?
Wow just stumbled on your channel! You are very informative! Subscribed. Just decided to try contacts after not wearing them for years. Was prescribed the Oasys Daily ones. They are ok but I can feel them in my eyes. When I used to wear contacts years ago I don’t recall having that issue. My doctor said that those are the best for dry eyes and wouldn’t recommend and other brand. Hoping it will get better as I have only worn them for 4-5 days. Going to try out some of your recommendations for dry eyes. Thanks so much for these videos. Learning a lot!
Thank you so much! it means a lot to hear your enjoying the content! Oasys Dailys are nice lenses. I personally enjoy the Daily total 1s for dry eyes but everyone is different. (my good friend finds Bausch and Lomb PureVisions more comfortable and I cant stand those old lenses). I hope you find something that works great!
Cooper Vision Biofinity Toric lenses for the past 10 years. Only worked well when working out/being active. Dried out really quickly when doing any kind of computer work. Now trying the Acuvue Oasys dailies for astigmatism.
I've been using contact lenses for 20 years and the Cooper Vision ones for like 10 years and just found out about that laser mark. They're so freakishly expensive 🤣 I used to wear them like 5 months at a time but now I'll be a responsible person and use them... for two xD
Okay my eye sight keeps going in and out of focus, every pair of glasses and contacts will work for a bit of the day and not sometimes, and I have to get a new perception every year. It's getting to the point where I feel like Lasik is the only way to get clear vision

I have -0.75sph, -1.25 astigmatism in right eye and I am having trouble having 20/20 sight in medium-light. I tried biofinity toric, everyone says it's best but it's not completely clear. So far soflense toric gives best vision but has really poor oxygen permeability and sometimes gets out of focus and my eyes are dry with them. Please advise which brand should I try. My optician doesn't have trial lenses i live in a country where that's not a thing and i must buy. Please give some advice man. Have you tried Bausch and lomb purevision? Or should I get ultra?
I’ve got biofinity and CYL is -1.25 but sometime during the day it always seems to feel uncomfortable making me want to rub my eyes. I was thinking maybe it’s just because my eyes get dry but I’m really not sure
My doctor just prescribed me Clariti dailies for astigmatism, -4.00 both eyes. Left axis 170, right axis 180. The first few hours I tried them on were great and I was so amazed by how clear my vision got. After a few hours my vision become really blurry, I’ve been using them for two days now and it seems to be blurry about 60% of the time. Is this normal ?. Prior to using these lenses, I was using regular bioinfinity contact lenses -4.25
Omg I've always seen that mark in the contact lenses but I never knew what purpose it served! THANKS SO MUCHHHH but I'm on the Acuvue Oasys biweekly so they orientate themselves when I blink so I'm glad hahah edit: i looked at my contact lenses. my left lens (no astig) had no mark on it. it wrote "123" instead. my right lens (with astig) had 2 marks on it, 1 at 12 o' clock, 1 at 6 o' clock. lol none of them fit the description
Just put an order in for Biofinity Toric, having experienced issues in one eye with my current Acuvue Oasys lenses. It is often blurry and I have to manually rotate it. Hoping the longer durability of a month and anchoring will help solve this problem. Plus I really like the increased breathability of this lense.
@@DoctorEyeHealth I do love them! Immediately noticed the difference. Comfort, stability, fresh feeling eyes. I will be staying with these as long as they perform like this!
Found this channel by accident and I am really loving it! I had two questions about astigmatism contact lenses. Firstly, is it possible to get coloured contacts for astigmatism? like those weird ones, red eye ones or something. Secondly, what if only one of you eyes has an astigmatism, how would you go about buying lenses?
What I found is that you pay for them by the box, and each box corresponding to one eye. So I would assume it wouldn't be too hard. Hopefully you have figured it out already as it's been months since you asked haha sorry I just saw it now
Thank u so much for this video. Have been wearing contacts for 40 yrs. Never understood wat that mark was for. Video was so informative. Keep us good work and u do have pretty eyes also!!
I thought that mark was a tear in the lenses and I threw a few pairs out. I’m new to astigmatism lenses and the Dr. Didn’t explain any of this to me. I found this video while searching “ why do my contact lenses keep tearing”😂
My dr fit me in Oasys 1 Day for Astimatism. I do not have to look for the mark and the blink keeps the lens in place when you look all over. The old lenses are thick on the bottom and influenced by gravity and head position. They also have UV protection. You mentioned those last and from my dr, his family and myself.....those are the best! I wore two of the others you mentioned.
Great to hear you have found a lens that works for you! Acuvue lenses often have either a blink stabilized design for their toric lenses, but some do have a prism ballast.
Do you have any recommendations for very weak astigmatism like with a cylinder power of -0.25? I'm not having any luck with finding brands that carry for that low of a curve.
Thanks for making this video, Dr. It helps me realize I was actually fitted with Coopervision XR Toric at my local eye doctor's office. My cyl was -4.25 on one eye and -2.75 on the other. After months of trying, I still couldn't get a clear vision with any of those contact lenses. I still can't drive at night because of my astigmatism, and can't read signs on the highway during the day. What's interesting is I can't find any doctor around town that can fix my astigmatism with either eye glasses or contact lenses, EXCEPT for one doctor from a prestigious hospital here in CA. He is probably the best eye doctor I have ever had, but unfortunately he relocated to another state. What I don't understand is all the eye doctors did what they could do but nothing helped and a couple of them brought up toric IOL, yet in fact one doctor could correct my vision with just glasses. Is there any secret to finding a good eye doctor that can do what others can't especially with astigmatism? I have tried almost all doctors I can find locally.
Perhaps searching for a clinic that specializes in "hard to fit" contact lenses or specialty lenses. These offices tend to have some better equipment in regards to measuring the curvature to the eye. I have had good success with fitting specialty scleral lenses in individuals with high astigmatism as well. Otherwise I really hope you can find someone to help you.
what about just sticking to glasses i have high amounts of astigmatism as well and i just wear glasses are you near sighted or far sighted also have you considered having lasik eye surgery ?
I had the exact same experience as you. The problem was with the axis. So we had to try out a bunch of lenses until i myself mixed and matched and saw what worked best. I just got lucky with that. But my optician was just guessing which axis to put me on because i could tell he was already getting impatient with me coming back and saying i wasnt happy with the prescription he was giving me lol
I haven't tried contact lenses but I'm quite excited to try them out now. I was diagnosed with astigmatism 10 years ago but my eyes worked fine so rarely wore my prescription glasses 4 years ago I saw my eyesight deteriorate and I knew I had to start wearing those glasses but I have them on my face. My Dr says no contact lenses can work for my astigmatism, I hate prescription glasses, do you really think its possible that my astigmatism can be too bad that no contact lenses can work?
Soft contact lenses do have a limit to their correction, otherwise there are other specialty lenses that often work for even the most extreme forms of astigmatism.
@@DoctorEyeHealth from what I hear, it is a lot easier to look at my prescription and order according to that. The brands you mentioned on the video, are they also available in South Africa?
I've used acuvue oasys for years and was just recently placed with SofMed advanced breathables (apparently it's a rebranded Cooper vision Avaira ) these are the most comfortable toric lenses I've used. I could always tell I was using lenses with the acuvue and with the SofMed(CV Avaira) I can't really feel them at all!
duette is a pretty cool brand/design. For soft lenses, a high power lens may still be a bit pricey but the coopervision Xr torics get pretty high. Otherwise a scleral lens may work (but will probably more expensive), but can last years.
Hey, just started wearing contacts recently, and your vids have helped a ton (especially on removing them!) and I was curious, my base curve is 8.7 and my diameter is 14.5 (on my prescription) now I do a lot of outdoorsie stuff, so I’d really prefer dailies for the added breath ability and the fact that I can just toss em out after a wearing. Now, I haven’t been able to find any dailies that fit those criterias, and I was wondering if it matters that much, so like if I can go for something a tiny bit smaller, or with less of a base curv. P.S. my prescription isn’t that high, so that shouldn’t be a problem
Hey thanks for commenting! For sure I will make a video on macular edema. If you have been diagnosed with macular edema, be sure to talk with your local eye doctor or retinal specialist about treatment options best for you and your condition. Have you seen my video on diabetic eye exams?
@@DoctorEyeHealth Yes, I have seen your video. I do have multiple doctors. Based on my tead in Mac edema can be tge result of trauma not always diabetes. If it's not diabetes, what is the treatment, will it go away on its own, are there supplements to help it or is it Avastin forever. : )
Base curve, at least for me, seems too vary massively from brand to brand and with the different materials they use. After reading a few articles I took the leap of ordering online with a lower base curve and they are the best lenses I have ever worn. B.C. really seems to depend on material type and diameter (which can also vary) and whether it is a daily lens/toric etc.
Well there is more to lens design than whats showcased in this video. Each brand and lens has a different lens edge and based on the material...one lens may be more comfy than another. In general, a lot of people tend ot find tighter fitting lenses with a smaller B.C. to be more comfy.
It would be interesting to learn more about how lenses are made and the technology behind them. They certainly seem to have come a long way in recent years. Thanks for the comment!
I just found out I had to wear contacts (refuse to wear glasses) when I always thought my vision was fine and I thought I could see good. Except at night I noticed. Was told I have a astigmatism and your videos have helped me out so much for learning how to put in, take out and clean. Thank you for these videos.
I have the B&L pure vision 2 toric. They have two markings on each lens, something as | F and | M, not sure which one goes where, but pretty fluctuating vision even after it settles after long time. Don't think anything will fit my eyes.
I've worn these lenses from cooper and.... oh my WORD! I loved these contacts, they are so comfortable and you forget that their in your eyes!!!!!! I highly recommend them to anyone who has astigmatism.
Went from acuvue daily to BL ultra monthly and they are wonderful. The acuvue kept flipping inside out and was extremely uncomfortable. With the Ultra I can see stars twinkling at night and they are very comfortable. Everyone is different but I'm glad my Dr switched me to them. No matter which I use when on the pc I need to blink more
What about daily ones? I'm currently using 1-day acuvue moist for astigmatism....I thought daily contacts were healthier for your eyes?🤔 and when I had the monthly cooper visions ones... they would always break within 2-2 1/2 weeks so it ended up costing more because they would RIP so quickly
That stinks that they would rip...I honestly never have that problem. The lenses featured in this video were based on success of fitting them for most people. Daily lenses are superior in that there is less chance of infection. Otherwise most daily lenses do not come in as many power options as the monthly astigmatism lenses. BUT they are expanding as the market grows. Ever wear the Daily Aqua Comfort Plus Toric?
But if the only factor I care about Is the ability of the lanes to not rotate on my eye, what is the best contact for that? I can’t go out and try six different brands.
Willy Lamb i had the exact same experience the past few months. I found out that my optician was just estimating the axis and then made me try the contacts. Dont give up. You will eventually find the prescription that works best for you
I personally find the prism ballasts to work the best for most people, however - for people with an oblique astigmatism- the blink stabalized designs work well.
Doctor Eye Health Thanks for the response. I’m currently using B&L PureVision for astigmatism. I believe that’s the name. They rotate too much on my eye. I believe I also unsuccessfully tried the acuvue oasis for astigmatism. Any suggestions for another brand to try? Those are ballast and blink oriented respectively I believe.
I have searched high and low to find out which direction the notch on my Biofinity torics was supposed to go (6oclock) and couldn't find anything until now. Thanks!

Almost like you're wearing...nothing at all...nothing at all...
Anni Dang I love them, even with my small almond shaped eyes, I love That my eyes are so hydradet and that it is one day lenses so I can have a good eye hygiene. :)
same acuvue is king
I have the SAME issue !! I got prescribed Acuvue Oasys originally but I have dry eyes and I asked for moist and they move around all the time and they burn my eyes when I put them in in the morning sometimes.
I previously used acuvue moist for astigmatism, but I found that they made my eyes feel very dry and irritated, even though they were daily wear lenses. I’m now trying biofinity toric, and I find them to be more comfortable but a bit more difficult to remove, which is a good thing I suppose, considering I once sneezed one of the old lenses right out of my eye.
same here, i used the acuvue oasys lenses for 3 month and my eyes began to be very dry. biofinity is more comfortable.
How do you feel about the MyDay Toric lenses from cooper vision compared to the Biofinity toric?
Why did i have to spend decades visiting opticians without receiveing any explanation and now i found your videos in youtube so clear! Wonderful!
I’m wearing biofinity cooper visions and I go blurry and is clear I turn my head and my vision is clear it’s so inconsistent idk if I need toric or not
Same problem I had. Trialing the Oasys right now and no inconsistent vision anymore!
Do you know where those thing should go.? like, is the word ok supouse to go on the top or the bottom? same with de lines, should they be at 12 and 6 or 3 and 9
Omg I had trouble taking out some brand called Ativa or something. Horrible.
Wait. My doctor told me to point the line upwards at 12 o' clock! lol Have I been doing it wrong all these years!?
I need help
@@theresanelson9666 are you farsighted by chance? As in your power is a + and not a -?
I love my Biofinity tonic monthly lenses and the Accuvue moist toric lenses as a backup.

Hey thanks!😁💯
Wow. I couldn't take my eyes off his eyes. Amazing.
Thanks 👍
Welcome!
I recently tried Acuvue and really loved it. It was like looking a HD movie and the whole city of Melbourne was looking like a different world for me. Also watched a movie in theater and enjoyed it like never before in life.
What accuvue model is this?
@@Videoorchard Day Acuvue Oasys for Astigmatism
Thats pretty awesome! Happy to hear you found some great lenses!
My doctor gave me B&L bio true solution
Man, I'm sad.. mine is too high I can't use disposable contact lens Ahhhgh
you just changed my life. i've been putting that mark the wrong way. i've always used the mark at 12 o clock
Hey thank you! Glad you are finding value in the content!
Doctor Eye Health Okay, what are some good brands and distributors for theatrical/ Halloween lenses for astigmatism?
@@cassidymartinez5858 - Hey my research has come up with only Toricolor lenses, toricolors (dot) com. I'm going to set up an appointment because I'm dying to get some colored contacts for my astigmatism eyes! I don't understand why they are so hard to find, it's really annoying.
yeah, i'm also kind-of in the market for 'costume lenses' --also with astigmatism; I'm kinda skeptical of the sites I've found so far, but i'll check out toricolor
Hey there! You can look into Desio contact lenses for astigmatism
I wore contacts over ten years and never knew about the slit I always thought I made a rip 🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️
Yes Doc here is my question. Do you know a brand that makes colored contacts for astigmatism
I think they just don't exist for real. They just don't make them
Asked this the other day after my eye exam and was told the exact same thing. No color changing for astigmatic lenses.
Check out www.toricolors.com. Comes in 4 colors.
You’re such a beautiful man
The best I've ever used is B&L Soflens 66. 66% water in them and they are comfortable all day long.. don't even feel them😎
I had been wearing the Acuvue Oasys for Astigmatism product for decades, but (unbeknownst to me until I recently tried to order another year's supply) they discontinued the higher powers at the end of last year.
Same bro I’m so sad why did they do this :(
Biofinity Toric lenses are the best! I've been wearing them for about four years.
I find they work well for a LOT of people. Not everyone. But a lot.
For me It didn t worked because of the stability. Now I m going to try Bausch lomb ultra.
@@luancarlosfragoso hopefully you have better luck with those.
I couldn't get used to it, would either get blurry or feel dry and uncomfortable.
I been wearing them since I first start wearing contacts and I never changed any brand but for my right eye I need a different brand which sucks.
Biofinity was soooo hard to remove from my eye
I got mine today and in is a sinch out I ended up giving myself a pretty good poke!
Drip a drop saline in the eye and blink once then remove.... boom
That happened to me everytime I used a new pack... eventually switched to a diff brand
I had this problem too
I second that.
Thank you so much for sharing! I appreciate that so much.

Thank you so much!! I just got my contacts today and I’ve noticed there is a lot of glare whenever there are lights around
What contact lens do you recommend for people who work on a computer all day?
I have astigmatism and i just gave up trying to use contact lenses
I barly see the lens, How on earth am i going to see the marking on the lens
Yeah that can be a problem. Thankfully, the lens should rotate anyway you put it on.

Acuvue oasis my favorite so far.
I really thought that mark was supposed be to be top. Doh!

You're eyes are beautiful 💕
I really can't stop looking at them
What are the best For astigmatism and dry eyes?
Ive tried all of these and because my eyes are so dry, I had to take them out after 2 hours because they hurt so bad.
Rachel K I like to put a gel in my eyes a few minutes before I put my contacts so they’re not as uncomfortable
Do you toss contacts after wearing it for 30 days or because it’s been 30 days since you opened the contacts?
I always go by since the day it was opened. I believe thats how it was tested during the FDA approval tests.
I just got Air Optix for astigmatism. What’s your thought on the brand?
Good overall, good oxygen content. But I tend to notice more people with GPC in them than others. But that could be just my subjective experience.
Okay thanks!
I heard biofinity toric is really good
Very dependable lens, basically my fallback if others are not working.
I’ve got biofinity and CYL is -1.25 but sometime during the day it always seems to feel uncomfortable making me want to rub my eyes. I was thinking maybe it’s just because my eyes get dry but I’m really not sure
Tough to say. Have you spoken to your doctor about it? Maybe it is time to try something new?
My doctor just prescribed me Clariti dailies for astigmatism, -4.00 both eyes. Left axis 170, right axis 180. The first few hours I tried them on were great and I was so amazed by how clear my vision got. After a few hours my vision become really blurry, I’ve been using them for two days now and it seems to be blurry about 60% of the time. Is this normal ?. Prior to using these lenses, I was using regular bioinfinity contact lenses -4.25
Usually Clariti lenses are really good. If your having troubles maybe you should check in with your doctor again.
Omg I've always seen that mark in the contact lenses but I never knew what purpose it served! THANKS SO MUCHHHH but I'm on the Acuvue Oasys biweekly so they orientate themselves when I blink so I'm glad hahah
edit: i looked at my contact lenses. my left lens (no astig) had no mark on it. it wrote "123" instead. my right lens (with astig) had 2 marks on it, 1 at 12 o' clock, 1 at 6 o' clock. lol none of them fit the description
I hope you love them! I always liked them.
I've been using those for over a decade. Since highschool and now 28. They are amazing for me
@@DoctorEyeHealth I do love them!
Hopefully you have figured it out already as it's been months since you asked haha sorry I just saw it now
Any news cause I'm wondering the same thing. I have it in one eye
Glad you found it!!
Hi doc, the problem I face with tonic lenses is my axis falls between the standard manufacturing axis. Should I go 5 degrees up or down in that case?
It depends on a few factors. Best to talk with your local eye doc to find out your corneal topography. That would help.
I've always wondered why I couldn't just wear any regular prescription contacts having astigmatism.
I have a Coopervision XR Toric for my right eye. My left is not XR.
what about just sticking to glasses i have high amounts of astigmatism as well and i just wear glasses are you near sighted or far sighted also have you considered having lasik eye surgery ?
I had the exact same experience as you. The problem was with the axis. So we had to try out a bunch of lenses until i myself mixed and matched and saw what worked best. I just got lucky with that. But my optician was just guessing which axis to put me on because i could tell he was already getting impatient with me coming back and saying i wasnt happy with the prescription he was giving me lol
Do you have a recommendation for COLORED contacts for mild to moderate astigmatism? ☺️🤓
Thank man, I am about to get my first lenses. Great info!
Happy to help! Which lenses are you getting?
I haaatttee Avaita. They were plastered to my eye after 7 hours and I couldn't remove them easily.
Hey doc I’ve been wearing duette brand contacts bc my astigmatism is -4.5 but prices getting crazy do you know any other lenses I can wear?
duette is a pretty cool brand/design.
Did you ever figure it out?? If so what contacts did you get? I'm in the same position you were in.
I need a brand for -3.75 Cyl 😭😭 anyone know any brands?
Biofinity XR Torics go that high.
Wow how is he that handsome!!!? His eyes are so gorgeous. Thanks for the video. I wasn’t sure if you could even use contact lenses with astigmatism.

This is late but I’ve always wanted colored contacts but I have astigmatism do you know what brand is good for colored contacts ?
Id like to know too..
Are there any color contact lenses 4 astigmatism?
There are some brands but the ones I know of are not made of good quality materials.
I just found out I had to wear contacts (refuse to wear glasses) when I always thought my vision was fine and I thought I could see good. Except at night I noticed. Was told I have a astigmatism and your videos have helped me out so much for learning how to put in, take out and clean. Thank you for these videos.
At night with astigmatism did the blur go ?
I have the B&L pure vision 2 toric. They have two markings on each lens, something as | F and | M, not sure which one goes where, but pretty fluctuating vision even after it settles after long time. Don't think anything will fit my eyes.
Swapnil Gupta i am also facing this.Did u tried any other lenses?
You should do a video on contact lens solution! Which is the best and what is the most affordable!
Yes and Yes. Actually might have it out next week!
From my unprofessional knowledge what is the right solution for one person may not be for another.Due to lens material and eye chemistry.
Do you have any suggestions for multifocal contact for astigmatism?
Those are ballast and blink oriented respectively I believe.
my eye doctor couldn’t find a brand that had all of the requirements for my eyes since my prescription is so high and my astigmatism is so bad
Thats tough. Maybe consider specialty lenses? Such as Scleral lenses?
I have searched high and low to find out which direction the notch on my Biofinity torics was supposed to go (6oclock) and couldn't find anything until now. Thanks!
So happy the video helped!
