This is clutch timing for this video. I’ve had some Canglan V2s sitting in my cart on your site for a few days and now I feel justified on pulling the trigger 😂
Perfect timing! I bought some Xinhais and somehow ended up loving the clacky sound. But it's the smoothness, lightness, and short travel distance that I love the most. Anyway, that got me really interested in HMX's lineup. Thanks for the video 🙏
ever since i got hmx emos ive been a big fan of hmx switches. now i have macchiatos, hyacinth v2us, caramel puddings, & silent sakuras. they are all excellent but i think the emos & caramel puddings are my favorites
@@rengokusats I know right? xD Also, how can you have 20 'faves'. Just make a top 3. Even then they really sound the same. The only one that makes a difference is the Silent Sakura which is super quiet.
just yesterday I made an order of 6 different switches from your website, man I can't wait until they arrive! I am from Italy so they will take a while tho... anyway, right now I have a monsgeek m3 with xinhai and they are awesome
Cheese, Gleam, Hyacinths, Xinhai are my favorite of the HMX's that I've tried, which is about half of those featured in the video, although admitted not in a lot of configurations and mostly cheaper boards like Tofu, several Neo's (ergo, 65 etc), a Mode and some QKs. I'm going to have to pick up a couple of the hollow-ish sounding switches as I kind like that sound profile when it's done well.
what a timing! my xinhais just arrived yesterday and i'm in the process of trying them on 2 out of 3 different plates, really love them on pom plate so far, and now i'm interested in going for the cheese next 😆
I can't believe that I've been hand replacing all my switches' springs with 20mm long springs for half a decade and now this brand has them by default. Factory lubed too. The evolution of this hobby is absolutely astonishing.
@tonsoffun49 they make the keycap pop up quickly, they make a more uniform press, and since they are longer the spring is preloaded with tension before you press it.
I just have two questions: 1. Where is milktooth located in? 2. Have you even tried the HMX Violets from the WOBKEY Rainy75? If you have, is it good or bad compared to the other switches here?
Hey bro this probably isn't the right outlet to ask but, do you sell test kits? I have been thinking about upgrading my keeb but I don't have a way to try out other switches without buying a set of 10 outright. I didn't know if you have a costomer service email. (I can't read the small text on the site). Thanks for all the help!
I don’t know if your still looking but I emailed them and they said they don’t but they recommended me this site called clacking and they have a pack of 20 switches for 30$ where you can pick 20 unique switches without a tester case so you’ll need a keyboard to put them in to try but if you don’t have that you can by test kits as well they have like 100s of switches that you can choose for the kits. I’m going to buy one soon so I’m doing my research to see which ones to choose because they have so many
Idc what people claim, all these switches sound the same or 98% similar... At this point switches are being made to be made and profited on rather than bringing something new to the table
lets face it, its because there's not much to bring to the table keyboard is a hobby, people will buy anything they want even if it only has different colors good for you if you're staying on the basics! im also doing that. the only one i'm really interested is the ws pearls bcs it has ball bearings inside it, and its very hard to find.
I get what you're saying, but it's also not that simple right? Sound is not the only thing people look for, but also a certain "feel" ... and then maybe a certain "Feel" and "sound" combination. Those combinations added with different company's build qualities... I mean, again, I get what you're saying but it's also not as simple as all sounding the same. There's a little bit (a lot?) more to it! :)
I can’t disagree lol, that’s why I got the Hyacinth v2u for a bit lower price and they sound marbly but leaning on clicky side (so… poppy(?)) on FR4 and I love it
True. Since Cherry MX patent expired, lots and lots of new switches came to the market, it is an exciting time But it also means it's harder to innovate and be different. The last 5 switches I bought almost sound the same, despite having different materials and manufacturers. Gateron is still the king though, Oil King is GOAT. For clacky switch, my favorite right now is Ajazz Diced Fruit Peach
I agree to some extent with your statement. But you quite literally forgot 90% of why people buy different switches. First off, feel. Pretty obvious. 2nd, weight. And then the sound also depends on the keyboard, foams, chassis, etc. So it really depends on your preference for the feel, sound, weight, and other gimmicks. I know the yap is a lot but I hope you understand this
I had the cheese and it does not sound clacky nor poppy. Very quiet no matter what keycaps i used. Also it depends on the board. I actually owned like 50 boards and only works to my Envoy but still low pitch mediocre sound. The only good thing is smooth and feel but thats it.
Could you compare the sound loudness to another switch? I love how smooth and quiet the Everglide Aqua Kings are, so your description sounds interesting.
@@combinemanPL I used Alexotos Obscura And Obscura both are very Clacky, poppy and loud specially with some of my board with 0 foam. I have Xinhai and ready to be in my Mammoth75 but then again im sure the Cheese Switch is great with some board.
Am I the only one that thinks this keyboard sounds like shit. Its isnt thocky which is sad for me but do not be offended it is just an opinion. A recommendation would be to record via a mobile phone also because their mic qualities are not that good but everyone has it so it is easier to tell if they sound good or not
ahhhh back on the grind I see for you. It's a pleasure meeting you in person the other day ;)
Yes! Was nice meeting you, I'll hit you up next time I'm in the city :)
This is clutch timing for this video. I’ve had some Canglan V2s sitting in my cart on your site for a few days and now I feel justified on pulling the trigger 😂
Really like your switch reviews. Describing the weight percentile gives a nice comparison. The comparative description is awesome. 👍🏻
HMX need to make tactile switches

super helpful video that takes lots of efforts to make, thank you.
Thank you very much for the thoughtful and detailed video!
Just when I'm deciding to get new switches for my new build. Thank you for the comparison.
how do you test all these switches on the same board? should be really tired to do so
Do you guys still do the try a switch program? I can't seem to find it on your website?
saw yall got the gateron weightlessness on milktooth, how do they compare to the mini i or baby kangaroos?
great thorough review, thanks!
What are the best HMX tactile switches?

Hi, could you tell me which switch has the least wobble?
Such a good video right when I needed it! Waiting for some lotus switches in the mail rn.
HMX are the bee's knees. Haven't had a clunker yet
Still loving my Heavy Xinhais! Those and Nixies are about the only Linear switches I use anymore.
Great contrast between those choices. Excellent picks!
OP, please do a list of "poppy" switches.
Are all these stock or are they lubed?
is there any hmx switches that have almost silent sound?
discord link says invalid, could we get a new link perhaps 👀
Are you doing a Video about the Rice Pudding HE switches? I havent seen anything about them yet since they are pretty new i guess
my keyboard kbd67 r4 can u recomend hmx switch? im using jwick ult black right now

haven't paid attention to the hobby for 3-4 years now and it's so incredible (and a little overwhelming) how many options there are.
Long springs is a must!!!! been doing this mod + lube. Now we can enjoy stock switches and with no hassle LFG!
What do longer springs accomplish and where do you get yours?

Blue topaz are underrated! BT and Cheese are my favorite HMX.
Will you be reviewing the new TTC Magneto switches?
I just have two questions:
1. Where is milktooth located in?
2. Have you even tried the HMX Violets from the WOBKEY Rainy75? If you have, is it good or bad compared to the other switches here?
The Violets are basically recolored Hyacinth V2s, with maybe worse QC
@@hmuy0608 How do they compare to the Xinhai?
do you guys ship to canada? if so, how do you select canada because its not letting me when i try
Yes, email us
Between poro and hyacinth v2, which one would you recommend?

First revisions of cheese had problems with overlubing (over time) if I recall correctly. So thats the probable reason.
Great video. Wish you sold to UK/EU.

Hmx are famous for being high-pitched and they usually produce a bright clack. If you are a fan of thocky switches they're never your cup of tea.
You’re on the wrong side of the switch world if you like thocky switches my friend.
