Hi Milktooth,
I've been disinterested in the keyboard hobby for about 5 years now.
Started watching these videos and they got me hooked back in.
I think I've placed 2 or 3 orders, queuing up my next one now - I've printed a bunch of switch samplers for friends. I appreciate the videos, fast shipping, and easy to use website.
Keep doing what y'all are doing!
Suggesting a runner up, I grabbed some baby kangaroos on your recommendation for a satisfying tactile and they have been a dream right out of the bag.
Absolutely. Baby Kangaroos are a classic. Hard to fit all the great switches to use stock in one video!
Imma disagree on that somewhat. I am using them right now and they are good, but a lot of them are extremely pingy stock. Maybe I got a bad batch, I dunno.
@@lycanthoss you might be right. Sound can be based on the board they are in. I don’t notice any ping on mine, but I just love the feel. Hope you find switches you love!
Love the Baby Ks as well. I'll note that the first set I got from a retailer and the lube were spotty but the large orders for them I have placed from Milktooth have all been super smooth. Plan to get more of those soon as well.
Great idea for a video, i wound up getting the ttc bluish whites (non silent) as they are not loud at all and i liked the soft soundprofile more than their silent counterparts. Keep up the great work
HMX Lotus is my personal favorite stock switch of all time. Perfectly & consistently lubed. No stem wobble. Satisfying clack. I highly recommend it.
The HMX Lotus and Sunset switches stood out to me the most in this video. They all sounded great, but the Sunsets are on a different level. Definitely on my shopping list after I get tired of the Morandis.
Its my first time giving this hobby a try thank you for the straight forward video, this is exacly what I was looking for when I started searching for the best switches I could afford.
I am a huge HMX fan. Anything HMX I think is a winner of a switch. Only problem I have is I have to stop putting them in all my boards because they do have the same general tone between the many options. I ended up loving HMX Garnets the most. Glad to see other switch manu’s taking more care about good factory line jobs.
Nice. How would you rate your HMX switches from best to worst?
Finally there's sound test now. 👏 Thank God! haha
I just want to say thankyou for these videos helps more then you could imagine , also would like to thank you for your website its got just about any switch you could ever want or need and the layout of the website is amazing for someone like me ( very new to the mechanical keyboard world ) you even have categories of switches like " thocky , creamy , clacky " etc etc. I truly just wanted you to know how helpful you and your website are thank you !!!!
WS Morandi is nice but the stem wobble is crazy and my set were quite scratchy out of box. Had to lube them myself and helped a lot. Not really ideal for a stock switch but I do like the sound profile.
dude I'm glad it isn't just me! So many people rave about the Morandis but the wobbling drives me crazy!
Same! Some switches are okay but some are also scratchy. I decided to replace them with HMX Hibiscus and now I'm just an HMX shill from cuz I'm addicted to HMX now after experiencing the Hyacinth V2, Xinhai and now Hibiscus
Supposedly gateron smoothies have a similar sound and feel to the morandis but have much lighter tolerances and less stem wobble
@@Zath88 I have the smoothies and the silver version and I prefer them so much more! I recommend trying them if you're curious. They do feel very smooth.
@@teefuq I have the HMX Purple Dawn collab with Unikeys and loooove them. I really need to try the Xinhai; I've heard so many good things! The only WS switches that I love are the heavy tactiles.
I honestly think the Morandis are quite overrated. I compared them directly to a lot of other switches and they don't even make my top 10. I would definitely place the Oil Kings in that spot which I think should have made an apperance in this video.
After tried MMD Princess(tactile)(good lube but uneven in some samples), Panda, Ice Cream, KTT White Kang, Epomaker Flamingo (included on numpad), Leobog GrayWood V4 (included on aula f87 pro) , Akko silver v3, MW Sea Blue, Attack Shark Blue Whale (included on attack shark k86), Bsun Rise Dream and Outemu silent lemon and peach. The best one of those is the bsun rise dream, you got some upgrade by handlube then, but is not a lot, maybe they have some less lube on spring for my taste but is very good one. And Outemu got a good lube on spring and didn't feel a lot after handlube. The negative is: maybe they need to film mod, didn't try, and never ever have done.
P.S.: MMD Panda is mandatory hand lube, they got so good, they are more silent than princess and more thocky, princess are more clacky . KTT white Kang are pretty dry, but they are very OK in that state, of course you should lube then.
I personally found the HMX Lotus to be the truth. Best feel and sound. I think Hyacinth V2s don't get enough love, though.
I have the WS Morandi's and not a big fan, my taste change so often tho. Big shout out to Cream sodas
Nice vid mate
My go to stock switch has always been oil kings, little on the pricey side iirc but no work needed
great vid
Sorry not sorry, I just can't get onboard with all this WS Morandi hype. I really didn't like how they felt. Quite scratchy and they have a super weird bottom-out sound and feel. Tbh they weren't much better after re-lubing them myself and I ended up giving them away. They're actually one of my most disappointing switches of all time. Granted, I've only tried somewhere around 40 switches but yeah....did not like the Morandis *at all*. Best stock switches I've ever tried were the Keebhut x Aflion Tropical Waters v2 which are unfortunately no longer being restocked. Polished stems and crazy good factory lube. Say what you want about Aflion's issues, but I've only ever had very good switches from them (I have bags of several other Aflion switches too, and love them all!)
Anyway, thanks again for the great vid Milktooth bro, can't wait for the ultra-clack meta to pass 😅
In contrast, the Morandis are the best switches I've ever tried, but that's coming from someone who's only ever tried the Cherry MX Clears and cheap membrane keyboard switches. I'm sure there are better switches out there like the latest HMXs.
Many thanks for best swtiches store in the world! I'm living in Ukraine and even with additional shipping from US your are the best in term of veriety, price and shipping speed.
swk switches is also really smooth aswell
Do a video on MMD Vivians
What are you thoughts on the hmx canglan v2? Ive been wanting a deeper clack with great smoothness and been wondering if theyre worth it over something like the gateron smoothie switches
I have a board with smoothies and a board with canglans. Totally different sound profile. Canglans are noticeably brighter than the smoothies which really have that deep thock. Canglans are the way to go if you want clack, I would go even clackier because I do hear some spring ping because of how much they mute that signature HMX clack. (tofu 65 v2, carbon plate.)
@@CJ-gh4ehi know its a lot about preference, which would you say is better value for money? In terms of smoothness, spring ping etc.
@@lowprofile4239 I would say the smoothies are a more refined switch out of the box. But they are very deep and don’t really have that clack that hmx switches provide.
I think the gateron smoothie silvers are better stock than the morandis and have a similiar typing feel.
LOVING my HMX Xinhai, however I need more Nixies. Is there are place to sign up on the website to get notified when you get more in?
Glad you enjoy the Xinhais. The ETA for the Nixies is July :)
Is it just your setup or do the Morandis have spring ping? I definitely hear something in that sound test that the others didn't have. I also agree with another comment that they are incredibly (and distractingly) wobbly. I do not get the hype when there are BSUN, HMX, and even some Epomaker switches that sound and feel better.
as someone who has some yes they have horrible ping and horrible stem wobble i have no idea why so many youtubers recommend them. no name companies make better switches
@@reaper117nobody7 I bought the morandi's expecting to love them due to all the hype. Immediately noticed how bad the stem wobble was and thought it was something I could live with. They didn't last in my board for a week before my HMX Macchiatos got in.
Which will be quieter: Akko Piano or TTC Neptune?
I need switches that aren't too loud. They must have pre-travel: 2mm, actuation force: 40-45, bottom out force: 45-50. I can't find any suitable ones. All quiet switches either have a pre-travel of 1-1.2 or an actuation force of less than 40g. What can you recommend?
I don't have time to lube switches anymore... Unless they're MX blacks or nixies, I'll always take the time for those
How long does lube on a switch last? Does it last for the lifetime of the switch?
hi do you have any recommendations any low pitched thocky tactile switches? I'm currently using bobau4t and bobau4tx but I'm wondering if theres anything newer/better out there
Video about this soon..
Have you tried Tangerines? If so, would you still say Morandi's are better?
I have both. My tangies are lubed and filmed, and imo they still don't really compare to the completely stock Morandis. Tangerines just feel kinda... Old. Switch manufacturing has come a long way.
Obviously everything in this hobby is subjective, so other people might feel differently, but yeah... In my experience Tangerines don't really hold up against more modern switch offerings.
I'm trying to decide between the TTC Neptune and the TTC Venus. Are there any clear advantages of one over the other?
Largely the same, biggest difference is color

Fixed, thank you
Gateron Smoothies are king
Stock morandi is horrible, huge amount of spring ping & leaf ping
I have the same experience with mine, but the pinging nose only occurs with the middle and ring finger keys on the home row and top row. And it only happens when I hit the keys at a certain angle and with a certain speed. It's pretty annoying. I wish this weren't the case because the Morandis feel great to type on.
Morandis or Gateron Smoothies?
Smoothies
morandis are some of the worst stock switches that exist. leaf ping and stem wobble and a lack of factory lube. even with films and hand lubed you cant get rid of the leaf ping totally or the stem wobble. id rather see the akko v3 creamy purple pro here or almost anything ktt being suggested.
That's disappointing to hear. I was hoping to get rid of the pinging on mine by lubing the switches.

If you're into keyboards enough to buy standalone switches to throw in your keyboard, and you for some reason think that you can't afford to spend 1-3 hours lubing those switches, you need to reassess your life. Hand lubing is always better and it's not rocket appliance boys
