I like that diagonal flaking on the Elk River point and appreciate you showing the hammerstones. I’ve found a few recently that I’ll have to show on my next video. Hopefully you get another look before they plant it. Good luck!!
Yeah that style flaking is unique and not many types had it. Its really not that easy to do either. While I'm with you, I like it, don't really know why they chose to do it.Glad you recovered some, thats all any can do is try.GLTY
G10 or not. They are all killer finds and special in every way. I hear tales of old when the fields were first worked and the giant points found along with incredible numbers. I consider myself lucky to still be able to walk these sites and find points to this day. At some point in time, this will be a story to people of what we are finding. Thanks for sharing and hope you make it out again.
I agree with the newly opened ground having abundant artifacts with size, for I've actually seen that and been receipient of it both at OSG and SK.Large points/blades however would vary in size based on resources.Lots of areas only had smaller nodules for point production unlike large slabs for which to make huge ceremonial types, but same concept applies.Larger stuff will show up first then smaller remains until a site is exhausted.I 'm pretty sure I've been on many almost exhausted sites.Crazy amounts of sign but few artifacts if any exists.Common sense says that will happen if pressured enough long enough.Appreciate the comment.BOL
Had to look back to remember what I did video before, but yeah that display of Preforms and HS's is something I'm proud of.I'll be making room for the axe once the new wears off a little, but for now I just wanna look and handle it .LOL
Hey brother you sure are blessed to have such a site. I had a corn field right down the road it was loaded with artifacts but they have not farmed it in 20 years. About all the fields around here they do the no till. Some beautiful points you found and in my eyes there all G10 just to know your the first to touch the artifact in thousands of years. I think that’s why I like the tools so much. God bless my friend and good luck
I watched these sites as pasture for about twenty five years knowing what was in the ground.Needless to say I was diligent to gain access when I saw them plowed.Fortunately the new owners allowed me to hunt it.These properties belonged to family until I was an adult then they quit crop raising, died, and eventually sold at auction.I was there at auction and saw who bought it, and low and behold they started tending crops on it again. These farmers while they practice some no till, they prefer old school for certain crops.Thats a good thing for artifact recovery efforts.Maybe some day that cornfield will be open. Its not a requirement for me to enjoy artifacts thats less than G10's, I like em all.Even the brokes provides incentive to keep on.Thanks and GL
Wow!!! Keep walking that field, can't believe the amount of blunts. Some great finds. Hate to hear your having camera issues. Hopefully you'll be able to find a new camera for your setup. Keep posting my Friend. 👍
They clearly had a daily use for those blunts.Much debate about their uses and opinions vary, but I actually saw a contestant on History channels 'Alone" named Amos that used a blunted tip on an arrow shaft to ward off a fox that was getting close to his camp. They were not allowed to kill them but the Captions on screen said the blunt was used in the area for centuries to harvest small game, which would kill from blunt force trauma, thus they called them ,"Bunnie Busters",yet they wouldn't kill larger game as the fox etc.If thats so,The natives all over my area were in the bunny busting business because blunts are found in abundance in most every site I hunt.More blunts are found than points by far.As for the camera, I can likely find another with some searching around, but I'd rather search for points than cameras.:>)
Craftsmanship and selection of materials by the previous tribe(s) are always great at both of your sites. Who do you think the contributors were? Thanks for sharing ❤
Tribe wise it'd be Shawnee. They were predominant in the area with neighboring Chickasaw to the South and West, Cherokee to the East. Its possible but I really don't think likely that much trading of materials was required. The abundance of resources without trades was present already else a move would be in order, but clearly they were there a long span.My please to share.TU

Dang, awesome points, the brokes would be in a case of I found them, because I don't find much. Thanks again!
Thanks Dave.Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, they don't make brokes any longer either,:>) Some definitely would be case worthy no doubt.
