I really appreciate that Hal's clips always feature the correct species of shark for the attack story. Maybe this is petty, but other channels just show any old stock footage and it drives me nuts

I just saw a video and a girl jumped in the water because a bunch of dolphins were in the river and a bull shark attacked her and she lost her life. Apparently the shark was chasing after the dolphins. It was in Australia 🇦🇺 imagine that! Unsure why anyone would even get into a river in that country with all the saltwater crocs!

Friend of mine from Hawaii said the smaller tigers are the most dangerous…. 8-12… but he gave a little different look at tigers he says they come in for a look and then come in at a charge in your blind spot…. That’s their hunting but in cruise mod they are curious that’s when they are just lazy and can be directed … they know you see them but when they are hungry and know you didn’t see them they are coming in like a freight train…. He had a friend out spear fishing with him they would jump in at the buoys because fish gravitate there and a 13-14 footer came in checking them out and then about couple mins later it came in faster and they turned towards it and his buddy went to direct and it it shook its head while powering down and took his leg right off … he said redirect only works on curious mode tigers not angry or hungry hunters

I find it interesting that he never classifies the tiger shark’s hit-and-run-swallow-a-limb as predation. It seems to me that that’s just part of their hunting strategy and just because they don’t come back for seconds immediately doesn’t mean they’re not trying to feed.

As the person above, it's just a metaphor! It is similar to a food coma, or people who get slow and distant when drunk. They just kinda roam around and don't do much while they are filled up!

I often comment on that video of Ocean Ramsays saying the shark she hangs on to, supposedly Deep Blue, had just finished gorging itself on a whale. I think she’s irresponsible.
Ron & Valerie Taylor wanted to educate people about sharks so they weren’t seen as mindless killers. Ramsay literally promotes how to push a Tiger shark away from you or what to do if approached by a shark. She is always in a fairly controlled situation with one shark & could have off camera protection such as spear guns or loaded shark sticks for all we know. The average Joe is going to lose at least their hand if they try any of her ‘advice’ if they encounter a not so docile shark. Plus if a shark is coming at them with the intention to attack, the average Joe just facing it like she says, will still end up injured or dead.

2003 -swimming parallel 20 yds offshore of a cruise ship owned island, the water turned from blue to dark. I then was hit mid chest. Nothing else happened. I think of that moment 3 times a week!!!

Hal, there was a movie i saw when i was abt six or seven called great white death. It shows a person with their leg bitten off being hauled onto the boat. Ill never forget the blood pumping out of the wound with his heartbeat. Have you seen this movie? Might be interesting to cover the attacks shown or the making of the film itself. Thank you again for the work you do.
