got here so early the intro sound wasn't playing
LMAO
Dude I just about threw my air pods hahaha
No sound till Hal started talking
I found it more creepy with no sound 🤣🤣
Lol, thanks for saying this, thought it was just me.
Last summer I watched all Hal’s videos. In April hubby and I went to the Eastern Caribbean on our first kid free vacation in 10 years. We had a great time, including a catamaran tour and snorkelling with turtles in the US Virgin Islands. It was amazing. But, I told hubby, no shiny jewellery, no spear fishing, no peeing in the water. Hubby didn’t know it, but I kept him between me and the deep water the whole time 😂 thanks Hal.
Lol!
So glad little Barbara survived. A two foot shark biting a 4 year old child is a big deal and modern medicine was not so modern in the 50s. Thanks for explaining the inflicted wounds vividly, making the visual experience more intense in all your stories. ❤
The Popov and Robbins are terrifying because they were caught on video. Really makes it real with hard evidence. I’m still traumatized from the Popov attack. Of course I needed to watch it 20 times. 😮
I couldn’t watch it… they say he yelled out for help papa 💔 oof I could never imagine as a parent watching that
Agreed
Everything I've read about Lake Pontchartrain makes me think I would never go into it. ;(
Absolutely not
@@kathyinwonderlandl.a.8934 Even the pictures online scream "Don't swim here!" That water has an unfriendly look to it.
As a kid jumping off the wharf Darwin NT Oz landed on a shark underwater , remember the sandpaper skin . . last time that caper
How scary at 4 years old to be bit by a shark almost as big as she is!
There is a clue there
Absolutely
Never saw water like that at Pontchartrain Beach
Fishing at a small lake in the UK. I was fishing for small fish with 4lb line on a soft rod. I caught a biggish fish that just ignored me. Other anglers had gone to the fishing lodge because a huge rain storm was coming. The swines stood in the lodge laughing at me as the heavens opened whilst the 12lb fish just wandered around the lake. I was soaked but landed the fish!
Nice. Using 4 pound test for my lil Crappie fish…
No sound for me either until Hal starts talking it came on!!
Tiger sharks are are my least feared sharks.....and the most. They seem calm and sanguine. When they have intent you will lose limbs. Great show as always
Most tiger sharks literally just want to play paddy-cake.
Vladimir popov.. The tiger shark was the most scary one
@@Spartan-Of-Truthpat-a-cake!🙄
You jogged a memory of mine in one of your episodes about a book I had read when I was much younger. I remembered that the author had gone shark fishing and subsequently disappeared. I couldn’t piece it together until this episode. I went through a phase when I was younger where I read everything I could on sharks and this was one of the books. Thank you for bringing that up…
Jaws had the same effect on me.
I love sharks but this is why" Maria" does not go in the ocean.....💙. I don't even go swimming in lake Michigan anymore I get too afraid.
Lol…I’m always feeling that weary feeling when in Lake Michigan as well.
Wise . . have progeny
I have heard that there are bull sharks in one of the Great Lakes. I live near Tahoe, and I don’t even swim there!!
My man Hal back at it again with the quality content!
My man Paul back at it again with the quality comment! 🦈🩵

Hals shirt was so loud i couldnt hear the intro music!😂
It's off to Hawaii night at the club
I thought he was just color blind lol
The shirt is beautiful. I love that color.
No.
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂❤❤❤❤
Love the color of the shirt, really shows your tan!
Ditto
David Keynon Webster served with Easy Company and was in the series Brand of Brothers. I do recall that he wrote a book about sharks. I didn't realize it was about shark attacks..
Dude, what a coincidence!
I started watching your channel a couple of weeks ago.
It made me think of this awesome shark book I had as a kid.
I've been trying to think of the name of the book, and even went to my Mom's today to look for it.
Low and behold! Hal shows me that exact book!
Great ending to this episode 🙂. Love this series!! I Started to learn about surf fishing on the Atlantic ocean in Ocean City MD from my Dad when I was 8 years old in 1967. We caught smooth dogfish, Sandbar and baby Mako sharks along with Blowfish, Kingfish, Bluefish and Flounder... My Dad passed on in Feb. 2022 at 99 years and 4 months old. He would have LOVED Sharks Happen!!! Keep up the great work!!
Fine show, Hal. You mentioned reading a book by David Kenyon Webster. That name rang a bell. He was a paratrooper with Easy Company of the 506th P.I.R., 101st Airborne Division in WW2. I learned about him by watching Band of Brothers.
Good Book.
Wobbegong are much more aggressive than nurse sharks, the will cause damage too not just a bad love bite
Heard this. Was combing the comments for someone else saying this.
So happy to see a new show! That is so creepy about the guy knocked off his surf board and feels the great white directly above him!! Absolutely horrible. It's just a miracle he did not get any injury at all. Your stories are Always so fascinating. Thank you for your hard work. ❤
I think it's amazing how these people don't panic, and they think things through in split seconds.
Looking tan my man, been in the keys?
Thanks for another episode Hal!
Girl " mangled by fish"
Heres a good question.. Have there ever been reports of attacks at ship wreck dives?
Yea.
There was a guy who was actually rescued after spending 3 days inside of a sunken ship. He survived inside of an air pocket, and he had to hear the sharks eating his drowned ship mates inside the ship in the hallways and other areas of the vessel. When the rescue divers came, they had to scare off the sharks.
I think there are but i cannot remember covering one yet
I love it when a great Hal show does a fake out end in the middle, like a two fer!
Hal, I’m still hoping to see your opinions about the fatal attack on Kristine Allen in Hawaii a couple of years back.
My brain broke when I didn’t hear the 🦈 music .. so my brain played it for me in my head 🤣
New 🦈 Happen video. Right on. 👍
Hal...gotta tell ya...best stories around ! Total visual as you share your experiences, luv it ! Keep'm coming. 😅
If you want to be a human lure for a shark. The waters are warm and inviting.
Boom. Hal on Friday. Hell yah.
I'm not going in the ocean ever again . 😧
Still not swimming thank you Hal!
Thank you, Hal from South Africa 🇿🇦
26:26 Lol, "if the boyfriend shoots the fish, he should be bitten " excellent statement Hal! Hey sharks happen peeps ❤ love to you all from soggy wet Texas. Have a great weekend.
You have the best fish stories Hal 😂
More great shark stories from the best on Google keep up the great work hal all best from UK🇬🇧🇬🇧
Love your fishing stories!
Right after this going to watch jaws great vid Hal as always ty
Happy Friday. It's Hal!
so wild. i literally just saw a video this morning of a tiger shark that was circling a drowned wild boar that got swept out to sea from heavy rains/flooding. it circled this thing so many times, countless times. it was just so interesting to see. the shark was so calculated and so cautious with legitimately every single move it made. when it finally went in for the first bite, it took the boar’s entire head off, and then it still continued circling so many times. i very highly doubt the shark had ever seen a land animal like that before and might never again, so it was just really cool to see the reaction and predation.
No govt health care for sharks if they get injured when trying to eat . . they know that at least
Been missing Hal , have I been missing out or is he making new ones?
Your Missed Hal!
Made 7 the last 3 months. 1 every 4 days but tomorrow will be 5. I have over 180 episodes on the channel
If it's off the New south Wales coast of Australia it is Norfolk Island.
Another great show, Hal, thank you! Always enjoy your work! 👍👍👍
I'm glad it's long
Great show, as usual Hal, thank you!
Great Show Hal.
Im loving the shirt!! Along with a great healthy looking tan. Thank u Hal for uploading❤no channel beats Hal.
Excellent show as usual. Brings back memories as I have seen many sharks in action. Your show is a must for me.
Love the shirt, Hal!! Great color!
Sounded like you said Nick Fanning, but he's a Mick. It's ok to call hima Mick in this case, Mick Fanning. 😂 Great episode 👍👍
thanks hal
Another great show Hal. 🦈🦈🦈🦈🦈
What happened with Mick Fanning wasn't an attack. The shark didn't try and bite him, it got tangled in his surf leash. There are 4 species of reef sharks. Caribbean reef sharks, black tip reef sharks, white tip reef sharks, and grey reef sharks. What that lady did to that shark wasn't necessary. It wasn't bothering anybody. That poor shark.
Love your channel Hal! Thankyou.
Great show Hal!
Great show Hal 🦈🦈🦈🦈🦈
Thanks for another good hilarious episode. That 6 ft. reef shark attack seems like a what were ya thinkin' incident. Looking forward to your take on the Robbins video. That reference to the stuttering lawyer 🤣 - I've watched that movie so many times since the 90's and still crack up during that scene.
Thanks Hal
I jumped to the most recent just to comment. I love your unbiased analysis of each situation. Glad you started a database because some early videos you didnt categorize. Predation vs attempt to predate... is a great distinction. I also like that you speak on how sharks behave when they "mistake" "test" "attack", and not your word but "hunt"..... i, myself, have also noted that sharks "deliberately" hunting people have distinct different approach to those they are investigating or mistook them for something else.... its actually VERY clear. And the scientific community ignores this for the sake of conservation and deniability... sharks are way smarter than they pretend to give credit, and an investigatory bite can easily be fatal for us....
They only seem able to use their teeth to interact with their neighbours & folks get upset
I'll never forget the first time I saw a shark 🦈 in person. I was vacationing in Bethany Beach, 😮 I was a kid. At dinnertime, a fisherman caught a 5 or 6 ft shark (no idea what kind), but also a pup was swimming in the tidal pool. Mom, perhaps?? I'll never know for sure, but it was still cool to see one in person
Thank you for the upload. You crack me up with your little fishing tales~
Always great to see a new Video Drop from Sharks Happen! Thanks Hal you are the best!
Thanks for the episode!
Hal: Did you know that David Kenyon Webster was lost at sea? 😢
No i didnt
Great fishing tales, I want to catch some catfish up here in Alberta but I have to drive like 5 hours southeast to hit the Milk River that's connected to the Missouri and Mississippi River.
It has Stone Cats and Brown Bullheads apparently.
I dont mind catching them but i would never stick my arm in a hole in the bank hoping they will bite it so i can pull them out. Ive seen flash gordon…
Already liked the video can't wait when I'm off the road to watch later. Keep it up hal
The definition of taking one for the team
Hi Hal. Haven't seen you in a while. Glad to see you back. Great stories as usual!! ☺️
I have had episodes out i think every 4 days. Tomorrow it will be 5 tho…
Great show Hal! I'd like to see you go over the attack on the girl who was out with her family and the weather was overcast and there was a rip tide , a jet ski went out to get them and she had been attacked on her leg and she passed away on the beach. You went over it on a show but there is video that you could go over in the future show you mentioned. Thanks Hal!❤️🦈
Hal I love your stories. You make me laugh so hard I have to run to the bathroom before I pee myself. God would I love to have a beer with you but I'm too far away from the Keys. I live in Delray Beach.
Love when you involve Tigers!!!
You're the man Hal 🦈
Love the show, Hal.
Great show Hal!! It's crazy just how shallow water sharks can swim up and bite you in. Looking forward to seeing your next show ❤
Love the shirt, Hal! That is one of my fav colors and it sets your tan off beautifully.
I hope you and your Dad have a smooth fishing trip soon, and the icing on the cake would hav to be that you finally get to drink the soft drink you keep spilling. Good luck🍀, and may you catch many more fish!
We just had our best trip yet in Ga…
I need this more in my feed, chum
🦈 ALWAYS ENJOY YOU! Consistently GREAT delivery, presentation, conversation etc! Though I travel quite often, I am still SOOOO GOOD on land … on shore! 😀lol! 🦈
We're is the intro 😢music
First case sounds like it was just a test bite. Tampa Bay Florida has an over abundance of bull sharks Hillsborough River and the Alfia river fire t connect to dontbe taking a dip off your docks.
Don't mess with mama bear, indeed.
Thank you Hal
Look forward to each presentation, so very well done and researched.
I just love hearing about your fishing adventures 😂
Great show Hal.
Lake Pontchartrain is a full salt water lake. Alot mire salty than fresh, and they do catch baby bull sharks frequently. I caught a door mat sized flounder when i lived in Slidell Louisiana in an apartment right on the lake. Great fishing, lots of red fish too!!
Gators too!
Love the Miami Vice shirt Hal 😅
They better not destroy the video if Ocean Ramsey ever gets attacked, like they did with Steve Irwin and TimothyTreadwell. Can you imagine how much money their estates would earn with pay-per-view!?!
Hal,
Long term watcher.Your videos are entertaining and informative. JUST to let you know youtube is not letting me access any of your latest videos.May,6 2024 was the easiest I could get.I watched your video about how youtube is screwing you on your click rate and money. There greedy and corrupt. And I thought they were better then some media outlets.
Anyway I feel for you and hope that you continue to make new videos on UA-cam.Because that's the only way right now i can watch you.
Hang tough my friend and give me he'll.
All my best, Jim D from Wabasha MN
Great show, as always, Hal ❤
By the way, as an Aussie, who doesn't live too far from Anglesea, I can tell you it's pronounced "Angle-sea" 😉
I love your fishing stories Hal. Thanks for sharing them along with the shark stories.
Do you mean Norfolk Island. That’s an island we have off Queensland
Thats it. Kept getting Norwal
Good video!
Hey Hal why do you think surfers in US don't seem to get killed than they do in SF and AUS seems US GWs are less aggressive than the AUS and SF GW as they seem to be the same sharks as the the shark highway is near Madagascar east Africa strange that , if i went diving I'd wear one of those bite proof swim suits you might get a broken leg but not gonna bleed out maybe from a 16ft tiger shark might get threw them
Good question!!
Better fed is my thinking. They have good seal colonies over in SA and Aus but i dont think they have the larger elephant seals and sea lions in the numbers off Ca…
I would just get a wet suit, and layer Kevlar on the suit till it was an inch thick, and resembled a military-grade, bullet-resistant-vest, If I HAD to surf. The forearms would be covered in spikes, and a gun (one that works underwater) would be welded to a handcuff, and the cuff would be fastened snugly around a wrist. The board would be Aluminium on the exterior, and plexi on the inside. BTW: Aramid fibers are buoyant, and would require a stronger shark to take you under!
Is what it is . . octopus big carried of many early Pearl shell & trepang divers off of early north tropic coast NT Oz . . most haunting tale heard . . was a pearl diver on north Oz water early , storm came & was pulled up too quick & bends ensued & only way to save was to send him to the bottom at night long time . . it experience sent him into permanent PTSD . . haunting tale
I ❤️HAL
It’s 1145 in the afternoon 🎉🎉🎉 baby shark 🦈
Crappie ? You’re the Man 👍🏻
Beautiful fish 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Wally Marshall sent me.
Hal can you mention again some of the differences among the big three relative to types of attacks. Have you seen anymore trends or tendencies?
With the first attack reminds me of a fishing saying for fresh water a small hook can catch a big fish and a small fish . And the seawater version is if it can't get its gob around that hook i don't want it . Basically never understand estimate the compasity of a fish,es mouth
Strange that someone would spear a conger eel.
