  • For thousands of years, man has been besotted by the beauty and sparkle of gemstones. These stones are meant to be special, and they are even described as fragments of stars and tears of the gods. They have been a part of man’s history and ancient culture - whether as amulets and charms or adornments to the nobles. Gemstones continue to hold magnificent value even to this day. With that, we searched and gathered the most expensive gemstones in the world to acquire and admire this 2018.
    Rarity, size, and hardness are only some of the driving factors that determine a gemstone’s value and worth. These mineral crystals are cut and polished carefully by artisans to reveal its unique beauty and color. Some are regarded as more valuable than others that they are sought after by museums and collectors for a huge sum of money.

    Red beryl (bixbite) has the same chemical composition as the emerald which is actually a green beryl. They only differ in their trace elements which give them each their own specific color... as green beryl for emeralds, blue beryl for aquamarines and red beryl for bixbite. Also, yellow beryl for heliodor and pink beryl for morganite. All are beryl gems...

    Being Australian I have always thought how amazing it would be to have a stone as rare as a Muscavite as it is mined so close to where I live but after hearing that there are less than ten specimens in the entire World, my spirits dropped. I actually love this gem for the obscure grayish colour it comes in that you would never see made into jewellery otherwise. Well, I can fall back on the Black Opal which for myself is not hard to come across. It's just deciding amongst so many coloured gems, as coloured are my favourites, that makes it hard to choose which will be next. Also, thank you for not having that horrible computerised voice in this video, I honestly dread that thing and it can never pronounce the gems nor everyday English words.

    • @krisushi1
      @krisushi1 4 роки тому +2

      @@Mahakaalkideewani111 They weren't actually Pink Diamond Mines. Most of the content that came out was white, only a very scarce amount were pink. Also the stones being sourced there were of a very small size deliberately so there was not much chance ever of finding a large one. They still do not know what causes the Diamond to get its pink colouring but they will be sadly missed eventually when the vaults start to empty. I'll just have to admire them from afar as they're quite out of my price range, a decent sized one anyway.

      I am late to this link, but have you ever thought of looking into the Titanium Grey spinel which are similar in colour to the muscavite, if you like that toning, though not course in chemical composition. Spinel are very much an underrated gemstone, not one you see everyday. Usually found where you find sapphires. There is a possibility you may get an Australian one. I have worn a 2ct emerald cut Australian teal blue sapphire for my engagement ring for almost 50yrs, I love the fact I am wearing a little bit of Oz. They are beginning to gain in popularity as well and hold their own in the gem market, not quite the poor relation these days.
      I prefer coloured gems too. The normal white diamond does nothing for me, definitely prefer them to play second fiddle to the main coloured gemstone 😊

    One theory is that mankind is attracted to the sparkle because it's ingrained in our basic id. It's instinctual. We relate the sparkle to water and water sparkles in light, which makes it visible, even in the dark of night.
    We don't have to search for water anymore, but instead we see sparkles and place a value on that.

I asked my mother, who knows nothing about gems, to pick me up 3 x 5pt Garnets to be flush set but they couldn't be of red hues as it was to go on the same hand as a Ruby. Luckily, she came back with Tsavorites although only one was the stunning deep green and the other two more pale. Anyway, that was well over 5yrs ago and still going great. There are so many Garnets that they've run out of names for all the different shades! I can't choose a favourite gem but I adore colour!

    Those opals is the good materials for the energy’s used for the watch’s or batteries with the deepest colours. So many peoples just always treated as the high value of the jewelry instead, thinking of the well uses.

    I’m a little disappointed in this video. The picture on the cover appears to be a rather large Paraiba Tourmaline and yet there’s no mention of it in the video. Paraiba Tourmalines are very rare, expensive and highly sought after for their brilliant blue-green color. The Paraiba mines are closed and the gemstone’s price continues to rise.

      @@AndrewPidor Andrew I can give you photos of all the stones except musgravite, Taffite and red beryl, because there are only few gem quality samples in the world of these stones so I would have to buy them and I see the photos so I know from whom you took the photos.....if that impresses anyone, but none of these stones are a coveted as a picasso except Fancy Diamonds! Whereby Blue is the top colour Oppenheimer blue for 55million for ex. Comes to mind. And I will tell you in my ring.... a blue diamond, and I can get any stone type right so says alot Blue diamonds are the very best and extremely rare.
