    I keep a natural salt water black pearl from Panamá; it has a beautiful black/ dark gray color.

    I own a pair of ear rings made from two big Tahitian pearls - iridescent deep green in colour. I had the pearls mounted with the simplest setting so that all the attention is focused on their beauty. I love to wear them, I have several items of clothing I bought just to match the pearls so colour.

    LESSONS from PEARLS: Once a university student from Kuwait brought me a pearl after her return from the Middle East. Yet surprisingly, she did not know how pearls were made. I shared with her how constant irritation made such a beautiful thing, and how difficulties in our lives can do the same.
    An even more meaningful story is of "the pearl of great price," one of the fascinating parables which won Jesus such popularity. In it a pearl is found by a merchant. To get it he sells everything that he has.
    There are two interpretations to the parable:
    One is that when we see the beauty of living in tune with God and people, we would exchange everything we have to be part of it.
    The other is that God loves us so much, we are like a pearl that he gives his best to save. He came to earth to be with and suffer with us. He died for our wrongs, and his resurrection gives us hope of eternal life - the best gift of all!

    I have quite a few pearls, because I love them so much. I have a beautiful Akoya set of necklace, bracelet and earrings. Two white, nearly perfect pearl necklaces (which were a gift from my friend in Portugal). A Golden South Sea and Black Tahitian necklace and 2 bracelets, 1 Golden South Sea and one Black Tahitian.... All of these are destined to go to my granddaughter when I am gone. Wouldn't it be appalling if she didn't like pearls

    My one dream is to own a Natural Pearl, made by nothing but Mother Nature and without the hands of humans interfering in its growth. It doesn't have to be large nor a whole strand, just one!
    Thank you Andrew for yet another great video. Sorry for the delay in commenting but things have been quite crazy going for me lately. I never knew that Abalone Shells ever produced a type of Pearl, even though I love Abalone itself. I do love the colours of the Tahitian Pearls and for myself, I require a pearl to be round. It is a Jewellery Masterpiece as were some others I spied in your video. So far I only have have a suite of Freshwater Pearls set in White Gold with Diamonds. For me, it's more to do with what I like and catches my eye. Maybe one day I'll invest in something more. Hope work has calmed down a little although we are experiencing a Second Wave. Five million people in Melbourne are isolatated and in lockdown. Luckily, I don't live in Melbourne but we are banned from the rest of the Country! Nice to know when you're wanted! Take care of yourself and get as much rest as you can squeeze in. Love Kris 🇦🇺 😘

    My husband Michael bought me a Natural South Sea Pearl 20 inch long Necklace. From The Tiffany Blue Book ; their. ( vaulted collection ) they are 13mm each Pearl. No blemishes. Natural ; perfectly Round ; The oysters were impregnated by God , not by man !! not cultured is what I’m trying to say he paid $300,000 for that in 2015 so they must be going up in price for south sea natural pearls anyway it has a clasp ; that looks like a little small disco ball !! In platinum with pave Diamonds on the platinum clasp . And the Reason he had to have it Made 20 inches long ; is because of the MM size of each Pearl. So really it’s a choker . Very Comfortable as well I didn’t think it would be comfortable but it is !! I love it 🥰. and he got me the matching earrings six months later so I have the set ; almost . and he’s looking for a bracelet that they do not have the pearls and they said it would take them two years to get them or longer to have enough of them to make a 7 inch bracelet because I have to use 13 mm each to match my necklace and earrings. I love my South Sea Pearls !! They have such a beautiful silver luster.

      Also I have a love affair with Natural Kashmir Origin sapphire no heat treatment with that beautiful sleepy velvet royal blue and I love my Russian alexandrite from the Ural Mountains 🏔 They have been depleted for many years mine is only about 7 1/4 carat ; VS1 clarity These are tight to colored stones they are not VVS like Tanzanite anyway mine has a 90 to 100% color change ; Ruby red and emerald green. Actually my Alexandrite is more rare than my 18.56 carat oval Kashmir sapphire no heat treatments whatsoever ! GRS and GIA certified. Now that came from Christie’s auction house from my father and I graduated high school when I was 18 years old I always wanted an alexandrite because it’s my birthstone the real birthstone of June not pearls

    I had a ring with a south sea pearl on it that I loved and wore often. One day, sitting at the bar in a restaurant waiting for a table, I looked down and it was GONE! We looked everywhere. Actually had almost everyone in the bar walking around looking for it but not found. I was so sad. The next day I was separating laundry and when I checked my pockets - WOO HOO - my pearl was in my pocket. I must have put my hand in my pocket and knocked off the pearl from it's setting, and it fell into the pocket.

My mother bought herself a string of lovely fine Cultured Pearls when she started her first job. Unfortunately, she has never passed them down to myself despite being the only daughter and the fact that my mother can not wear them anymore as they are too small. She keeps them sitting around a French Antique Doll's neck and has done for decades. I got to wear them once and the topic has never been brought up since. As someone who dearly loves jewellery, I find this such a waste and an insult from my mother. I certainly hope that you had more luck than myself.

    How will u know if the pearls its real or fake or plastic, coz i buy in a cheaper price last yr in palawan phillipines ...and my friend ask about tht and she told me tht u srach in ur teeth .

    • @AndrewPidor
      @AndrewPidor  4 роки тому +2

      Hello dear, your are right you can use your teeth, but you can also rub two pearls to each other, if the rubbing is smooth then it is fake, because the real ones when you rub it with each other it is like rubbing sandpaper. 🤗

    Cultured pearls are like diamonds- advertising hype more than rarity.
    Until one sees the depth and beautiful luster of a gem grade natural pearl, then one will understand the scam that is perpetrated by the cultured pearl industry and run-of-the-mill chain jewellery shops.

      @kath-phlox 3 роки тому +1

      It's not a scam, we know we are buying cultured pearls. There is no way in this world that we could afford natural ones. Your statement is way off beam. If I want to have pearls, they are going to be cultured. I have some beautiful cultured pearls. Even so, they are worth a great deal of money now as I bought well. Go away silly man.

Chinese kept all secrets of human history ar-chives/ R-ch-iv-ees as grass & Bamboo fields from moss(= EE- KKey). EEl & Moss molded our discomforting human histories from the water lakes to bottom ditches.

    I got a Rare Pearl for ya, theres a highly endangered fresh water river creek Clam, in the states that only has a range of a few creeks and a river. I got s Pearl from a one and its Amazing! It has a white luster with a Brilliant Purple/blue veins. Has too be rarer than any of these examples. and sits around 7 ish Karats. Been researching, and still no known examples have been shown.. so if theres 800 of these clams in the wild..... and one in a couple thousand probily a couple 100 k .... It stands too be the rarest pearl on earth...

    it take more than hundred years for the giant clams to grow and they are killed just so the pearls they may have can be harvested? i hope they didnt have to be killed to extract the pearl.. Giant clams make the oceans look more grandiose, ancient, untouchable, precious and exceptional because that is their home and we as visitors must leave them be and just enjoy the sight and not PLUNDER as many do.

    Blister pearls are considered fake. South black pearls never ever are pure black. If so someone dyed it. Giant pearls are expensive because of their size and rarity. RArely if ever are they carved. I would rate the you tube a five. Go to other video that give you better information.

    Its, not it’s, please. You ONLY use ‘it’s’ when you are contracting ‘it is’. All other times you use ‘its’ without the apostrophe: The kitten licked its paw- NO APOSTROPHE. If you are going to put a video on UA-cam, please make the effort to get your punctuation, grammar and spelling correct. And it’s (it is, remember) spelt AUSTRALIA, not Austria with an ‘lia’ tacked on the end. Not hard to get it right. It detracts from any professionalism. And Australia does have the best pearls in the world. Twenty years ago, I saw a single short string of flawless pinky-white South Sea pearls of approximately 20mm diameter with the most magnificent lustre in a Sydney jeweller’s window with a price tag of $875,000.
