Top 10 | Most Beautiful and Expensive Treasure of Persia

  • The collection is probably the best in the world, particularly strong in pearls, diamonds and emeralds, as well as balas rubies (red spinels). The most famous item is probably the globe, where the oceans are made of emeralds and the continents are done up in spinels. There is a spectacular pink diamond [the Darya-i Noor], some lovely turquoise, an entire treasure chest overflowing with natural pearls and a bejeweled throne.
    Isn’t fascinating to dive deeper into certain cultures and unravel such beauty; learning more about these magnificent jewels. The history and origin of these jewels make them all the more royal! I bet you guys as mesmerized by the delicate details of this historical jewel as I am!

      It has nothing to do with the political climate. Rather, the climate of the Earth that formed these "stones" and the superior craftsmanship, the stunning quality. I can't even imagine thinking politics when viewing these, beyond the look on Empress Farrahs' face as she views the magnificence of these "pieces". Their opulence was undefinable. The British monarchy can't hold a candle to the family of The Shah of Iran.

    Persia was the junction for the trade route called The Silk Road..and the Damascus riad.Diamonds from India, rubies and sapphires from Sumatra, a gold and silver from the Gobi and Egypt, ivory from Africa, pearls, coral and amber from the Black Sea and the Baltic, jade from China....all came thru Persia. Is it no wonder these jewels and craftwork are to be found in its Nations coffers?

    • @nushi7515
      @nushi7515 2 роки тому +7

      Sorry L~ rubies and sapphires are from Burma and India but not Sumatra, same as Gold which was mined in Afghanistan. Most of Persian jewls except turquoise (Mashhad) or pearls (Persian gulf) are stollen from India and were confescated by Nader Shah Afshar who attacked northern India & invaded Delhi during last Mogul ruler in 1793. If you see Sound and Light show at Red fort (a historical fort in Delhi), narrator of show talk about Persian King (Nader Shah's attack) and invasion of Delhi while Mogul ruler was partying in the fort and was not taking Persian''s invasion of his city seriously. Also largest Diamond of Kooh-e-Noor in Britain (mountain light) and Daria-i-noor in Iran (sea of light) are ransacked more than 400 years ago by British Queen and Persian king. you can easily use Wikipedia for more info,

      The British crown jewels are on display in the Tower of London, I’ve seen them. It’s only the coronation items though, not the entire collection of jewellery of the royal family. So, there’s the anointing spoon, the orb and sceptre, a ring, and the crowns. A few other pieces of Welsh gold. Not “grannie’s chips”, but at least you see the Cullinan I, the largest cut diamond in the world.

In one account Sir Arpels mentioned that when they where making the jewelry for the royal regalia the bank showed them the entire collection underground of the bank it was a second vault that was not for public eyes. The second voult contains larger volumes of all the jewelry you can imagine. Sir Arpels mentioned that it was the biggest and largest collection in the world. So as the story goes.

    Hi Andrew my friend! I literally felt for a moment at the beginning that I was flying thru space & time on a magic carpet. I would love to know the wt in carats of the Darya-i Noor and some of the other large stones. Love what you wrote also, yes, it is fascinating to see the interpretations of different cultures reflected in their jewelry. Btw did you get my email to you on rubies with my bit of research? If not I shall resend. Thx for this beauty, so uplifting. Love you!! ❤🧡💛💚💙💜 ~~ Chanel

    Keep trying Andrew, you're getting close to what I suggested - The Topkapi Palace. Actually, it is quite interesting to see the many different styles from history and the many countries of origin that you've shown over time. As hard as I tried, I couldn't spy my dear country on the Globe. Ancient Persians believed that the world sat upon a giant sapphire which reflected the sky as blue but very surprised at seeing only a very few blue coloured gems, what they are we can't know except from records, on these jewels. I see this with Indian jewels as well. Why so many emeralds, rubies and spinel and no blue coloured gems to speak of? It's been a curiosity of mine about Indian royal jewels but now after seeing these, makes me more curious. What do they have against blue sapphire if it's held in such high esteem? Rubies are made up of corundum which is the same material that sapphires are made of, so I can't see a valid reason for not using them except it's to do with the colour. What timing you have uploading this now when I've been going through your videos in the last few days! I'll only say this once, I do miss your voice but do understand the time it takes. Just try not to be too much of a perfectionist and have faith in the many who compliment you when you use it. Do hope you're doing well, Kris.🥰

      Hello Kris! ☺️ it is also a wonder for me why sapphire had not been used much considering it’s abundance on the jewelry market in the 15th and 16th century. But if you take a close look at some of the old European Crown Jewels, Sapphire is present and a very good example of that is the Bohemian Crown, it is completely adorned with Large blue untreated sapphire. And yes don’t worry 😉 I will try use my own voice from time to time. Thanks a lot Kris God Bless you dear and Be safe. Much love andrew

      @@AndrewPidor The only reason I can think of is that the blue sapphire was of more interest to trade than to keep. This topic was brought up in an Indian documentary about royal jewels of the Maharaja of the past but it was so long ago I can't remember what the reason was. They dont go much for most coloured gems, yet stay with the familiarity of the red and green. Maybe just being patriotic?😉

    Incredibly beautiful craftmanship. I see mostly ruby/spinel, emerald, diamond and gold. There are just some blue sapphies on the globe. Why do few? Are the not found in Persia?

    • @AndrewPidor
      @AndrewPidor  2 роки тому +3

      Seems to me that sapphires where not particularly used by the asians at that time compare to the Europeans where it is abundantly found in the royal jewels.
