Inside Lane! You inspired me to buy one of this spectacular car! I'm going to do this next week and you helped me to make a decision! Thanks a lot. The whole video was amazing and I wold like to do the same trip as you. Well done guys!
Maybe You would like to join me next spring for a dream road trip to Transfagarasan? It would be a pleasure! I'm about to buy this car specially for this trip, test it during the winter and take to its promissed land!
Thank you very much for the offer, but sadly all of our road trips have to be planned with military precision, in order to fit within our packed calendar, and directly link to whatever car we are testing. I really appreciate the idea though, and keep us posted on how your trip goes.
great video, i have 07" hatch civic and planning on ctr fk2 in the future. Reviews on fn2 which i had interes to buy, says that it"s pretty firm ride, how do you compare it with fk2 ctr ? tnx
It depends on your taste. For some the Type R is too boisterous . I really like the A45 AMG, but if there was a set budget I guess the RS is the best all-rounder.
Yes, but the point is that many people that that the RS is lightyears ahead due to being AWD. I have road tested both cars back to back and certainly in terms of excitement behind the wheel, the Type R has it.
looks are subjective, but compared to other hot hatches (focus rs, golf r..) the type r is fugly.golf r is boring but handsome and comfy, the focus rs is more boy racer styling but interior is garbage, this type r is ugly on the outside but pretty nice inside. I'd get the golf r and tune it.
MithroJin+ AWD isnt needed...it already competes with them and comes out on top. Your only looking at one aspect of the car...0-60 time, and Honda didn't design this car for 0-60...its always been a track race car, and according to a few videos, they have all claimed the type r will do a faster lap.
MithroJin+ i totally agree with the fact that AWD>RWD>FWD, and i do believe in the future the Type R might be a RWD. And yes it does disappoint me that civic Type R still isn't RWD, but let me ask you this....how many people you know actually build sub 10 sec cars... i would say that about 90% of the people who loves fast car will not even own a car that can do 10 secs. That reqs tons of money and alot of kids don't have that kind of money...Having a street-legal 10 sec car would be very hard for a FWD and much easier for a AWD/RWD but having a 11-12 secs is achievable and that is fast. So what i'm trying to say is that even though AWD/RWD are great for performance very few people can bring out their full potential. Look at the mustangs...around 450 ponies but on a chassis that is around 4k lb? tell me you don't think thats great engineering...the rest of the world has already figured out that power/suspension/weight/gearbox makes a car fast...not just power. Honda has been doing right all along but they are just cutting cost with the Drivetrain. Its not hard slapping on a turbo and making extra 100-200 ponies. And another thing too is that drag racing from a dig is dying out, most people race from a roll on the freeways now, its less stress on parts and FWD do very well roll racing. Ultimately you're correct that FWD is not on par with the other 2 but it is much cheaper to maintain and its easier to make power then it is to reduce weight.
fail to mention that the openings in the seat backs make excellent "OH SH*T" handles as can be seen by the well manicured nails of whoever was riding in the back seat. lol
Haha! Poor guy. I decided to take someone along on my first lap incase something happened, but bundled him into the back as the camera equipment was in the passenger seat.
Honda's must be the ungly duckling among hatches these days...hideous. No design direction or proper proportions...must has been designed by some amateur designer into Pichachu and anime crap...
Please explain your engineering knowledge? The wing actually is functional. The wide body hides the yes and stops the car from throwing rocks and damaging your car and other peoples cars, the design is very aerodynamic for a hatch.
All the other hatches worry too much about looks. I.e focus rs, golf r etc but the type r doesnt hang around on tracks looking pretty like the others itll pass them and none of them will have to see it again. Win win situation. Oh And congratulations to honda winning this years btcc in their fk2
Yes its FWD but sets a faster lap tim than a WRX STI. It has the best real world economy in its class. You get real and try experiencing something before slating it. Armchair critic.
If its so good why put it up against a proven champion... It should stand all alone... That car will last 3 5 years if that and fade away... Subaru wrx and STi are legends... Mitsu Evolution a legend... Honda with a dream that will never come true because Hondas are lame boring commuter cars. Not one AWD car available because the power trains are weak and cheap... and with no turbo...
2018 Honda Civic Type R Static Review: ua-cam.com/video/aS0KSPOq_VQ/v-deo.html
Are you gonna do a lap record road trip across europes racetracks again... with the new 2017 Civic Type R?
Great video but of all the placement areas for the dashcam, bottom right corner behind a sticker was the best????

You are very welcome. It is a great car and you will love it!

What an absolutely great video
+mitsubishi2301 Thank you very much!
Fantastic car! I tested it and loved it
+Martynas It is a lot of fun.
Another awesome video guys big thumbs up :)
Thanks!
Enjoyed this greatly!
Glad you liked it! Thank you.

awesome video! what car beat the record?
Thank you. It was the new Golf GTI Clubsport S just a week before we got the the Nurburgring.
+Inside Lane oh ok. Good to know! Thanks.
The new one
What's wrong with the frame rate on the external shots?
These look so good in white
+Shaeer Hassan My favourite colour for them keeps changing. Blue has grown on me.
You've put the camara behind a sticker...
I want it! Did you practice your video game version before the racetrack?
+Logan Mapes Might have done a few laps on Forza. Haha!
I have heard from a few sources that Honda plan to show the next generation Type R as a concept at the Paris motor show in September
+shawneal1 Not sure about that. I know they will reveal the new Civic hatchback at Paris.
+Inside Lane something I read from Auto Express but even if it isn't there will be nice to see the new gen hatch
+shawneal1 There were some leaked patent drawing a few months ago, the hatch looks great.
I hope they show european PHEV model for 2017 production because that's my next fuel efficient second vehicle next to my CTR FK2,
Read that too. I'd say it's a bit early for the type r preview... but then again it may be there as a concept ?
I remember my first lap at the green hell..watching this reminds me how off the pace I was.!
What would you say is the best hot hatch for day to day town use and a bit of excitement?
It depends on your taste. For some the Type R is too boisterous . I really like the A45 AMG, but if there was a set budget I guess the RS is the best all-rounder.
Inside Lane
Are all three of these comfortable to drive on a daily basis? I thought some of them have harsh rides.
It is firm, but it is fine unless in +R mode. +R is for track really.
How did u guys rent those type Rs? I've been looking at online to try and rent one for a weekend but no luck.
They aren't rented. I am a motoring journalist and these cars belong to Honda's press fleet.
I won't lie , this is a good looking car and I'd buy it right now but it only has the looks and that's all about it.
Fast around a track than Focus RS.
Inside Lane Give me a link , I wanna see it with my own eyes
+Yellow Waffle Take a look at the Grand Tour lap board.
Dude , were talking about a few miliseconds.
Yes, but the point is that many people that that the RS is lightyears ahead due to being AWD. I have road tested both cars back to back and certainly in terms of excitement behind the wheel, the Type R has it.
white with black accents make it look just perfect
It does divide opinion, but I think it looks great. A hot hatchback shouldn't be apologetic in the way it looks.
Inside Lane 100% agree
looks are subjective, but compared to other hot hatches (focus rs, golf r..) the type r is fugly.golf r is boring but handsome and comfy, the focus rs is more boy racer styling but interior is garbage, this type r is ugly on the outside but pretty nice inside. I'd get the golf r and tune it.
your mom is subjective
What a blast :-)
You need to look at the lens not the screen. just saying.
this car dont have sunroof option?
No it does not.
thanks
306HP for 5.7 0-60 is slower than I expected..
+MithroJin my accord competes with a Ford. In fact in my way to work a few hours ago i smoked one. Granted that comes down to the driver
MithroJin+ AWD isnt needed...it already competes with them and comes out on top. the type r might have some aero styling but it is ugly af! lol

To much BS... The car sucks admit it...
What? No professional journalist has ever said that. You haven't driven it so I don't know where you are getting that from.
Its a FWD, its terrible on fuel, its a focus driving position and off balance... Get real...
Yes its FWD but sets a faster lap tim than a WRX STI. It has the best real world economy in its class. You get real and try experiencing something before slating it. Armchair critic.

Jesus. You are totally clueless. Leave your opinions at the door and do some research. END of conversation.
