    Beautiful cover and fabric. Good instructions that are easy to follow. I have one question, you said to cut the foam 1/2 inch shorter, but in the visual instruction, the foam is cut 1" shorter on each side which is the same size as your sewing machine. Which instruction would i follow? Thank you for the tutorial. I'm very new at sewing and I'm going to give this a try.

    • @luliprint
      @luliprint  9 місяців тому +1

      Hi! Thanks so much for watching. I adjusted the measurements of the foam stabilizer after I finished the cover. I think it’s much easier sewing the topstitch of the sides and sewing the top panel without having the bulk of the foam reach the edges. That’s why I recommend cutting the foam stabilizer smaller than the main panels to give room for our seam allowance. (One note: remember that we do want to foam stabilizer to reach our table so for the length of the foam stabilizer panels I would only subtract half an inch from the top only )
      These would be the final measurements:
      2x 17inx 12.5in (front and back)
      2x 7in x 12.5in (left and right)
      1x 17in x 7in (top)
      Hope that helps. Happy Sewing! 🤗🌟

    • @luliprint
      @luliprint  Рік тому

      Thank you so much. Maybe add some extra room for your seam allowance so if the panels don’t match at one point it still would be fine by sewing with that extra space. Wondering the reason to not use one continuous piece for the sides and make one stitch (where the one piece wraps around to meet with itself), then sew the top down to this? Does sewing all four side pieces together help keep a square/rectangular shape better? That the reason? Thanks.

    • @luliprint

    The pattern for the cover is nice, however, actually watching how you turned the corners when attaching the top would have been good. I am using thin batting and it's devilishly hard getting over the topstitching.

    • @luliprint

    Tutorial molto bello e il disegno della tela è dolcissimo!
    Non ho capito come fissi la copertura alla macchina. Intendo dire che non mi spiego a cosa serve la maniglia sulla cover, se alzandola poi la macchina resta sul ripiano. Io avrei lasciato un pertugio in cima per far passare la maniglia della macchina, così sollevandola, la copertura resterebbe al suo posto.

      That’s a good thought if you do not have a place to leave your machine set up and need to move it around. Perhaps there is a way to have an opening with a cover to do this. You can make a cover like this box:
      ua-cam.com/video/OtMibaDKS0U/v-deo.html
      After you finish, topstitch each seam for a better structure and look. Hope that helps. :) Have a great and creative day!

      Hi Kelly. I'm using 3/8" seam. If you want to use 1/2" seam just add more room to your final measurements before cutting the panels.

    You designed this print? It is beautiful. Good sense of color and design.
    I remain very confused about how you got the lining on and watched it 3 times but still don't understand it. In future, please slow down in this section and show the steps clearly. I just could not figure out where you sewed it to the top cover. If only at the bottom, then how does it stay up inside?
    fyi - PLEASE DO NOT ADD ANY MUSIC TO A DEMO VIDEO. IT HURTS THE EARS AND MAKES IT STRESSFUL TO WATCH. Unbelievably stressful to turn volume on and off trying to guess when you are speaking since I cannot see your face. NO MUSIC PLEASE!

      Thanks so much for watching! I'll keep your feedback on music and the lining in mind for future videos.
      I hand stitched a few stitches in each of the top corners attaching the lining to the finished cover.
      I wrote a note in the description of the video to help with this finishing detail.
      *Sewing Note* 🧵🪡: once finished hand stitch a few stitches in each of the corners to hold the lining and outer fabric together.
      Hope that helps! Thanks for watching! Happy Sewing!

    This tutorial is technically wrong. Lining is not attached to main part on upper side,so whenever cover is kept upright, lining will be falling down

      Hi. I left a sewing note in the comments. To attach the lining to the main cover we need to hand stitch a few stitches to secure everything in place. Happy Sewing! ✂️🧵✨
