- A self-haircut for men is easier than you’d think! I’m stuck at home and my hair has been getting way too long. So I decided to give myself my first self haircut and show you how I did it. Sure, your wife, girlfriend or friend could cut your hair but why not take the time to learn how to self cut! I hope this haircut tutorial helps you men out there, even if this isn’t exactly the right way to do it.
The clippers I used today were by WAHL. Don’t ask me anything else about them because I still don’t know what the numbered brush things are called. They just help me not cut so much hair off.

Love the cut, and especially the color. I remember when you use to go solid black, and I found it made you look too hard.....But them few grays really softened your look, and has brought you to a total new handsome...JMO.

Hello justDANNY👋. Would you be interested in giving me a very nice and very short haircut with your clippers? I would like to have the top cut with the #2 guard on your clippers, and then take the guard off, and cut the back and sides as close to the skin as your clippers will cut it off.

I just tried it the same way , took me 1/2 hour , looks great . The fingers as a depth gauge was the answer . Thankyou .I did,nt use broken lamps btw .

Looks good, way better than what I did. Just over a month ago I bought a hair trimmer and when I got it, in my haste to cut my hair (It was really messed up) I forgot to attach the blade attachment and just used it as is and started trimming the front of my hair. Realising after I made the first cut, it was way too short, I had to continue or it would have looked messed up, so cut it all way too short, but some parts like the top and back had slightly longer patches. Realised afterwards, I had forgot to attach the blade attachment. Whoops!. Thankfully its starting to grow back, still a little short in places, but eventually when it grows to the point I feel comfortable cutting it again, I'll attach the blade this time and it won't be so short!

I just cut my own hair and it went surprisingly good. Cutting the back was a little rough bc i did it blind with no mirror but it came out ok. I did the samething to texture the top and it looks pretty good. Overall im pretty happy with the outcome and i may just cut my own hair from now on lol

i have bin cutting my hair sins i was 13. i am 51 now and i can cut it in less than 20 min . but you did a vary good job for a first timer. and think of all the $$ you can save LOL

You did a really good job all considered. You gave me the idea I can do it myself because I'm between stylists and I don't like the one I have where I am right now. I tried a little bit and I did okay but I'm going to buy a better set of equipment. For you I think don't go as short because you look good maybe with it less short. Also you have a face that can carry off any haircut.

With this whole thing going on, I wouldn't be surprised if the "shaggy" haircut from the 70's comes back in full force for a while.
Super easy if you do it yourself, wayyyyy too complicated at a salon. Wash hair, hang head upside-down, gather hair together, trim however much you want off the end with scissors, boom done.

I bought a $10. clipper kit 8 years ago, and have been hacking at my hair ever since, but this is the first time I went up on the sides and back, and it came out so much better; I did have 4 or 5 beers first but, since I'm retired, it doesn't much matter- My dogs still love me and I saved $20. Thanks!
