    Followed your instructions. Ended up with 50 extra pounds of solid muscle, mostly in the chest and shoulder regions. And arms. Probably my legs too, haven't checked yet. Also my hairline grew back and beard filled in the cheeks more. Basically look just like the guy in the video. Now I'm gorgeous, thanks.

    Been cutting my own hair for about 20 years because it saves a ton of money which my wife then spends on her and my daughters hair. Wanting to grow the top out so I’m gonna def try this method. Thank you.

    I've been cutting my hair this SAME way for about 20 years now. I started because I got frustrated going to cheap barbers that would just snip tiny bits of hair off, then I'd get home and it was still too long. So I got the clippers to "finish the job" and eventually I just TOOK OVER my own haircutting. Works great.

    I used this for pointers on how to cut my hair. I wet the top and cut it finger length with scissors. Basically whatever hair sticks through my fingers. I then did the sides like he said, but I use some shorter lengths. Then I finished up back in the mirror. What's sad is that I've been paying $20-$30 every haircut which was every week to 2 weeks and I not only think I give myself better haircuts than the stylists, but I've been getting asked who cuts my hair lately cause they've been doing a great job. Now I'm just cutting my own hair from now on and saving money.

    Hair looks great but I’m confused by the end of the video. You leave the top around the length of an 8 guard. Then you spend most of the video fading the sides with various guard sizes (going down in length) till you use a 1 guard near the bottom. The part I’m confused about is the end of the video where it appears you go over the entire sides and back again with the 1 guard (all the way up to the top) after you’ve already faded the sides with the descending clipper guard length. Could you please clarify? Thanks!

    One thing I've gleaned from this, and watching this video and finally
    cutting my own hair. That question being, why haven't I been cutting my
    own hair AL LONG TIME AGO!? Anything I could add to this, is all those
    hair cutting scissor that come with the electric shears or whatever,
    are completely worthless. I have a set of Kuhn scissors I use that cut
    through plastic bottles like it's nothing. They ain't cheap, but
    fortunately I already had a pair. The outside edges are beveled,
    including the tip end, but take heed.. They will cut you good if you're
    not careful. Anyways, it works for me. Since I'm not female, I don't
    know how women would approach this stuff. I just know it works for me,
    and I no longer have to depend on some twit at a barber shop who may or
    may not be in the mood to cut my hair while she, or he, is running their
    mouths to their buddies. Finally!

    Heck Ya. Thanks for showing me how easy that was. I did it (alone) and it actually came out not too bad. As for the neck trimming, I used a patch of hockey tape as a line. I set t up carefully and then went to town on everything underneath that line of tape. Kinda like when you are painting stuff. No more shameful COVID-19 haircut for me!!!

    Pay no attention to the hater comments applied here. You can tell which ones are hater comments because they have no constructive criticism to help you improve. It’s probably your wife supporting you what they hate, lol.
    You have the hand speed and have even memorized where to cut good because you hardly need the mirror now. The type of fade your aiming for here is called a shadow fade.
    Hi I’m a barber out of SouthBend and I have been cutting my own hair for 21 years, since the age of 14. I started because my parents couldn’t afford haircuts every week and I didn’t make enough either. Now that helped me develop a skill to achieve my technique today. Now I just do it for reason that I don’t like the way other barbs cut it.
    There’s just a specific way I like my hair for everyday use but if I have a very special occasion than I go to the shop and Kenny Cravens cuts my hair. I prefer a taper and very difficult to achieve on your own without the practice and a good pair of clippers and trimmer. You’ll also need a blade and some cream.
    The fade your attempting to achieve here is called a shadow fade, good pick. Easy, and fast. It’s where you start from the biggest clip and work your way down. Other then a skin fade or taper where you start with no guard then go up and that’s just to ensure it’s straight. You’re doing good but if you notice right about your crown and 3 fingers up from the ear your rounding off the sides going to the top. Don’t do that.. instead pop you clipper out in a waving motion, maybe use a 4 or 3 high. Sort of the way your doing it in the back below your crown in this video. Try that so you may have thicker looking sides and not army type sides. It just goes with the shadow fade.
    Good luck and keep saving money.

    • @franciscogavlan799
      @franciscogavlan799 4 роки тому

      At the that flat spot lol you leave it at a 4 high to a 5, I think you even applied the 2 through there... No don’t do that unless you really want to expose that flat spot.
      Remember the intention here is to have fuller sides and a good fade 3 fingers up traveling to the back toward your crown. The knowledge ball is your crown. lol.. Just so you have an idea where to apply the 4 to 3 high to prevent rounding.
      Also don’t go with to no guard perhaps stop at a one until you get better.
      Tip: use a right and left ear clips to fade between the 1 and 2 these are actually called tapers and come in handy when fading between clips. Notice they are different in size from on end to the other. Try using the smaller side for fading between 1 and 2 and bigger side between 2 and 3. Or just buy the a 4 mm for fading between 1 and 2. Also the 8mm for fading between 2 and 3. These are hard to come by and won’t find them at Walmart. Perhaps for convenience purposes you can try Sally’s store. Or non convenient online.
      Again good luck.

    External= outside
    Occipital= bone that forms the bottom of the cranium
    Protuberance= bump
    Your traps muscle and a really important ligament that runs all the down your neck attach to the EOP.

      Not a buzz cut, a wash and properly proportioned scissor trim that is fine tuned to your hair and face shape and looks great when you walk out with no break in period. Maybe a proper foam shave thrown in since they're doing the edges already. It's a grown up cut, clean look.

    Good starting point. I would add that people that want to try this to hold the mirror using chicken wing technique because it gets tiring holding the mirror or hang another mirror at the opposite side. But yea, watched this video and I got a nice haircut for free.

    You have to have the right looking head and face to pull off this haircut. I leave a lots of hair on top, short on the sides. Not all haircuts look good on all men, same goes for women. Can't really explain why, but it's definitely true. Same goes for shaved heads.

    Hi. I was just wondering which clippers everyone is using. I m about to start cutting my own hair an looking you buy a decent set of clippers. I always get a No 1 or No 2 cut when at the barbers with everything off the top. Notthat there is much on the top

      I use a Wahl now. The other one, the name got worn off. Not sure why I have 2. One has the side angle clips for blending but not a close fade.

  • @Saint696Anger

    Lol you need to have the right shaped head to pull this one off, I followed this to cut my son's hair I went too short on it

  • @Benjorunner
    @Benjorunner Рік тому +2

    So why not just start with the number one and doing all the work with the higher numbers. When you are clipping the exact same area over and over again to end up with the number one? Its not like you are doing a fade this way. Its just a number one back and sides and you are not touching the top.......

    • @Ephemeral2023
      @Ephemeral2023 Місяць тому

      Basically a Grace Jones cut with the top a little shorter. Then, gel the top. I've done that but got tired of it and went back to long, then short, etc.
