Escape From The City explores a world where separation is enforced and the family model eliminated, to avoid any potential conflicts and competing issues of government control.
The main character, Ford, lives in a futuristic city where everyone is obedient and docile due to something in the water. Still, Ford decides to drink rainwater instead and becomes enlightened. This decision leads to him being exiled from the city and ending up on a chain gang in the outside world, where he is forced to survive with little skill or no training.
