Definitely one of the better bags I’ve seen, still too heavy for me, but there is at least some effort at going light, and I really appreciate you giving the weight at the beginning of the video. I think if you get out there and test your gear on a trial run, you will find what you can ditch and what to keep. I would be interested in seeing your long distance bag as well. Great work, keep ‘em coming!

Good kit. You can probably just add in a whistle in case of the unfortunate possibility you are incapacitated

If you want to be seen, get a high viz vest, arm bands etc. My journey home is on narrow country lanes, I want to be seen! The note to self is a great idea.

Great advice. I keep both a reflective vest and arm bands in my med pack. Assuming I may end up helping in a car accident, I wouldn't want to be hit by a car. I keep another one in my car kit for changing a tire or something.

You carry a gun but no tourniquet? If you make holes expect to receive holes. You will bleed in less then 3 min from a severed artery. It can take an ambulance over 15 min to come depending on how far you are from an emergency services. By the time you are dead, the emergency services would still be on their way. I’ve always said, you should not carry a gun if you do not carry a TK and trauma kit and be trained in TCCC. Get a trauma kit and get the training.

Funny how the tourniquet is becoming the topic of choice for a get-home pack. If you watch my EDC pack video, you'll see I carry a tourniquet daily. In this case, a walk home when everything is shut down due to a severe SHTF event, my focus is to get home. Considering we're talking about the unlikely situation where cars are not even running, how effective will a tourniquet be? If there won't be an ambulance coming, how far is that tourniquet going to get me? It's just a comment I made in the video. I also said I would grab my med kit from my EDC pack if needed. If I was walking home for anything short of an EMP, I'd have my trauma kit, including a tourniquet. Although, if cars are running, I'd like to think I'm resourceful enough to get a ride home. My thoughts anyway.

So if you get an artery injury you won't carry a tourniquet because you think you will get to a hospital on time, my friend you can die from a artery bleed in 3 to 5 minutes, good luck on that. Trauma kit is a necessary item.

You completely misunderstood what I said.

53yrs on this ball and I’ve used/needed to applied a tourniquet zero times which included 5 yrs with ems. Nice to have and I do carry them at certain times but I think he’s trying to avoid carrying a duffel bag and choosing to move expeditiously. By the sounds of it he’s in a more urban environment so avoiding cars is his biggest challenge.
