❤BIBLE VERSES OF THE DAY❤
ROMANS 15:4 NIV
4 For everything that was written in the past was written to teach us, so that through the endurance taught in the Scriptures and the encouragement they provide we might have hope.
Amen
I love that you put bible verses here. OK YOU WIN!! Sub'd and liked.
I love this movie, but it's good you put this verse here so I know to avoid your channel. Peace.
Fun Fact:Cary Elwes was origianlly asked to play robin hood in prince of thieves before costner was cast.
Another fun fact the guy that plays Little John is the dad in Good Luck Charlie there's also the dad of Wizards of Waverly Place during the night grouping of the merry men specific time stamp is 16 minutes and 12 seconds
The "I can speak with an English Accent" joke was because Kevin Costner had done a Robin Hood movie a couple of years before (which this one parodies a lot of) and his accent was...problematical.
Mel Brooks wanted Sean Connery to do King Richard, but he couldn't get him. So Patrick Stewart did King Richard *as* Sean Connery.
That's Sir Patrick Stewart and Sir Sean Connery
how can his accent have been problematical when he didnt attempt one at all :p
@@margarethardiman9288 So, Patrick Stewart is an OBE. Officer of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire. To use the honorific, "Sir" he would have to be the rank of Knight Commander or Knight Grand Cross (the head of the order). He's a member of the Order of Chivalry, but not a Knight. His name would be listed as Patrick Stewart, OBE.
Sir Sean Connery on the other hand, while not a member of a specific order of chivalry, is a Knight Bachelor. Knighted by the Queen. So, he is entitled to the honorific of, "Sir."
www.college-of-arms.gov.uk/news-grants/news/item/136-the-order-of-the-british-empire
Had Mr. Stewart been invested KCBE, or Knight Commander of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire, his name would be written as Sir Patrick Stewart, KCBE.
Sir Patrick Stewart channelling / invoking Sir Sean Connery (from Prince of Thieves) for the King Richard role :p
Ahsneez is played by the late great Isaac Hayes.
This Mel Brooks spin was a parody of both the original 1938 The Adventures of Robin Hood and the 1991 Robin Hood Prince of Thieves. There is a line where Cary Ewles says "unlike others, I can do it with an English accent" as both Kevin Costner and Errol Flynn did not.
'I have a mole?' 😅 Cool hair 🤙
two of my favourite lines
'I have a mole'
and
'I'm just your cook'
The screaming boy who killed the deer is supposed to be from Home Alone.
Thank you for not robbing us of minutes, with an intro. Much appreciated.
“Call the Locksmith!”
🥴🤣
You have such a gorgeous and contagious smile. It was fun seeing you experience this for the first time. You should watch more Mel brooks if you haven’t seen all of them yet.
The moving mole is a play on Igor's hump shifting from right to left in "Young Frankenstein".
the sheriff and prince john!simply gorgeous!
"A black Sheriff!?"
"He's black?"
"Hey, don't act so surprised. I mean, it worked in Blazing Saddles."
Lol!!!
Things like this are exactly why you should watch Mel Brooks in order😉
I was really surprised the first time I saw that Sir Patrick Stewart played King Richard in this. It's becoming somewhat of a staple for renowned British actors to portray this role in Robin Hood movies, with Sean Connery doing so in Prince of Thieves.
PS: Your hair looks amazing.
9:26 "It's the snorts for me!" Ahh... I see you have a very refined taste, my dear. Pray, allow me to tend to your needs...
*loud whistle*
Hear yea, all head writers. The young Lady doth request that ye put forth quill to parchment, and write ye more snorts in your sacred scripts. Ahem...
Cheers, dudes! :)
I love this movie so much, and it really helps if you've seen Blazing Saddles, and The Princess Bride...
It helps to appreciate the humor...🙂💯👍👍
I recommend Blazing Saddles to anyone who hasn't seen it
"Valet parking" for horses was a stable hand coming out to take your horse at a big gathering to give it food, water, and shelter until you came to reclaim it (usually for a fee unless the lord was coving things) the same applied to team horses with carriages. This typically only applied to the rich or important.
This follows basic plot of Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves. Except in that one, Robin & Azeem travel by boat to England together. Azeem is his companion throughout.
3:07. I believe those would be camel jockeys.
My favorite part in this movie is
"I heard that coming a mile away :) Right-o, Blinkin, very good. Pardon? Who's talking?".
You should have watch Robin Hood Prince of Thief's with Kevin Costner before watching movie because this movie spoof that movie.
You should also watch other Mel Brooks spoof like Spaceballs (original Star Wars trilogy parody) and High Anxiety (Hitchcock classic horror movies spoof), Blazing Saddels (A movie they mention) and History Of The World (Which has the phrase "It is good to be the king")
Well mainly a parody of Prince of thieves, it also touches on the previous Robin Hood movies as well😉
Previous Mel Brooks movies is a definite idea. As he tends to reference his previous movies a lot in his later films. There is no wall that is not worth breaking, especially the 4th🤣🥰
If you want to move into Non western Clint Eastwood movies that are slightly comedy. The next two Clint Eastwood films to check out should be ..'Every which way but loose', and its sort of part 2 called 'Any which Way You Can' ...Clint's character Philo Beddoe is great
Both are great movies, definitely worth a reaction.
@@pressman1788 I mention it becuase I have yet to see anyone else reaction to those. Everyone reacts to many of Clint's films ,his westerns and Dirty Harry series but seem to neglect the Sondra Locke/Clint era ie... Every Which Way, Any Which way, Bronco Billy, The Gauntlet...Though westerns that get overlooked by people are Two Mules for Sister Sara and High Plaind Drifter

Fun fact: The pill that Latrine gave the Sherf was actually a Life Savors candy. And the phrase "it's good to be the kung" is from History of the World Part1, another Mel Brooks movie.
Before I even clicked I knew Gabby would have a blast with the intro 0:36 lmao
This is an entertaining review as much for the selection of points to highlight as for your always considered and informative analysis. You have focused on so many elements and moments which, for whatever reasons, other recaps here on YT did not.
You do recognize Robin as Wesley from Princess Bride, yes? And the pill that Latrine offered to save Rottinghams life was a Life Saver candy.
And please check out Brooks Spaceballs movie. Just make sure you’ve seen the original Star Wars movie from 1977. It’s a parody of that. Bill Pullman, Rick Moranis, John Candy…… it’s awesome. You’ll meet your first mog!
🤣🥰🤗
Spaceballs is his science fiction parody! Which is why the movie has everything from Star Trek references to a reenactment of the dinner scene in Alien in it.
Man, Dave Chappelle was just a little kid in this.
Love from Norway 🇸🇯🙂🙂🇸🇯
Like your hair 🔥
Within the first 3 minutes, the body language alone🤣🤣🤣🤣 loving your reaction❤
I'm so sad that so many in the younger generation completely MISS the "Life Savers" joke at the end. Great reaction though. =)
Glad to see an old comedy being liked by you.
Also back in the day there were fashion for a time among the nobels to have a fake mole.
In Prince of thieves, the mole does not stand still. Which is why it was mocked so much in this movie
@@reneeg9406 there was a mole?
0:40 am I alone in thinking that the rap and classical style music went surprisingly well together? A bit more recent, and singer named Alex Boye' does an AMAZING cover of 'Believer' and has a part where a guy starts rapping while an opera style singer is holding a belt. It sounds waaaay better than that should.
Woo-hoo!!!! This is gonna be so fun. This is gonna be great!
I found your channel from you Blazing Saddles reaction and I can’t wait to check out more of your reaction!💜
We got the Godfather abd Dirty Harry in one scene....lol.
You really need to watch ‘hear no evil see no evil’ Richard Prior and Gene Wilder at the very best.
Dave Chappelle was so young
Another great Mel Brooks films are Young Frankenstein, History of the world part 1 and Space Balls (parody on star wars)
that hair style tho 🔥🔥🔥
The hair🖤
This movie has to be watched in conjunction with Kevin Costner's Robin Hood movie ...
Love from Sweden.💚🇸🇪👌😁🙏😃🌎😇❤️🇸🇪
Now you have to watch "Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves", because this is mostly a parody of that movie (excellent movie with a brilliant Alan Rickman).
Knew you would have fun with this one 😆
I love this movie. The most funniest comedy movie.
Your hair is so pretty 😍
You should totally watch Godfather!
Classic to be sure. But, personal opinion, hard to sit through all three. A little bit on the long and drawn out side🥴 I give the trilogy props for what it was, when it was. But not exactly a movie i, personally, can watch more than once🥴😔 but definitely worth seeing through at least one time for the PowerHouse of a movie/ trilogy that it was
There is no denying the impact that it had on cinematography
RIP Isaac Hayes 🙏🙏🙏
...loved this movie reaction. And as a bit of ironic trivia, which appears to have not been mentioned in this stream...THIS wasn't Mel Brooks' first foray into the Robin Hood character. In the mid 70's, Mel was writer and executive producer for a short-lived 'Robin Hood' TV sitcom, called "When Things Were Rotten". At the time, TV comedian Dick Gautier played the famous rogue hero...and it wasn't the first time that Dick worked with Mel Brooks. In the 60's TV spy sitcom, "Get Smart"...also created by Mel Brooks...he also played 'Hymie', a heroic, if not rather bumbling occasional-partner android to the titular Maxwell Smart's equally bumbling James Bond-like character.....
great reaction I recommend Spaceballs(1987)
Isaac Hayes!! Asneeze
Classic actor
You MUST watch the movie Top Secret if you really wanna laugh at a parody movie
This was Mel's take on "Robin Hood, Prince of thieves"... A Great movie as well.
If You're Looking for a Road Trip kind of Comedy, You could try the Burt Reynold's "Cannonball Run".
That’s the thing with these movies have to know what thy are making fun of like Godfather…you smile so much in this reaction
I said hey!
Hey Nani Nani😉
More Mel Brooks? Still have several films to watch.
👍
I have never watched this movie. I know not what is wrong with me. Chappell is in it??? I have to rent then. Damn girl you got talons for nails. How do you get anything done with those nails?
I thank you for your references to the scripture.
😳😘
No costume to watch this time😢
You haven't seen The Godfather? Wait wait, how do I special request this.
Asneeze Was Played By Issac Hayes, Better Known As The Voice Of Chef On SOUTH PARK!!
Cali, you still there?
I’ll be back this week 😉
@@Californiablend Nice!
It just hurts that she is too young to get the jokes.
Woo woo woo! Did you just say you never saw the Godfather? Well I'm a sub and not hitting thr b algorithm if you will. If you've never seen the Godfather then do yourself a favor. Do what you normally do to begin your reaction and ware a plush suit to start it off. I would say get it Taylor to fit your lovely curvature. 😍 The best mob movie of all time.
You have the most epic hairstyles I've ever seen lol killin it!
👍
