The woman that plays Maid Marion is John Ritters widow, Amy Yasbeck. This movie, and Mel Brooks for that matter, never fail to disappoint. 😂😂
Amy Yasbeck, never knew they were married tho? Cool bit of info!
@@aylagregg1962 yes ma’am. They had one child together.
Patrick Stewart imitating Sean Connery never fails to make me giggle, and the Men in Tights number just cracks me up. No one can match Alan Rickman's sheriff, though.
It's Roger Rees, but they do look somewhat alike.
It's the rolling of the rs lol. Sounds so good.
@@LadyIarConnacht i meant that I prefer Rickman over Rees 🙂
"A black Sheriff?"
"He's black?"
"Hey, don't look so surprised. I mean it worked in 'Blazing Saddles."
Lol!
As a gen Xer, it's kinda funny to me how, for Nick, Isaac Hayes is primarily Chef from South Park.
hahah I hear ya man. I've seen a good number of reactions on youtube, and the younger folks seem to get tons of references from either southpark, a meme, or family guy. That's their big 3. Isaac Hayes, what a voice he had though
@@JessieStarr For sure.
Yeah for anyone born in the 90s South Patk is where we know Isaac Hayes from, specially outside the USA.
Sir Patrick laying on the Scottish accent to refer to Sir Sean in Prince of Thieves playing the same role.. :D
(Edit: ah you mentioned it right at the end of review ! :) )
The concept of a medieval armour being so heavy as to be completely unwieldy is a movie trope and it couldn't be further from the truth. A battlefield full plate weighted no more than a full gear of a modern soldier and was extremely flexible. You could do acrobatics in it if you wanted. After all, medieval warriors were not fools and they wouldn't wear something that actively debilitated them in combat.
Even jousting armour that was indeed thicker and heavier on purpose since it was made for one singular purpose was perfectly manageable in combat for a trained and fit fighter.
Great reaction so far. Did you know that there f it weren’t for The Tracy Ullmans show back in the 80s, we would have never gotten The Simpsons. They first showed up as a skit oh her show.
Wow, that's cool! I never knew that.
@@Flix2Us Yes, they were a skit on her show for three years - one of the most successful spin-offs of all time.
Mel Brooks was definitely bagging on Kevin Costner's potrayal of Robin Hood.
If you like Mel Brooks, The Producers is a must. There's the original from 1968 with Zero Mostel and Gene Wilder and the 2005 musical, both made by Mel Brooks, with Nathan Lane and Matthew Broderick. They're both worth your time.
The Sheriff of Rottingham is played by the actor who was on "Cheers" back in the '80s.
Since you asked about the mole: The moving mole is a dig at Prince of Thieves, since Rickman's mole had a couple of continuity issues in that.
Maid Marian’s maid Brunhilda played Marla Hooch in LEAGUE OF THEIR OWN
This was a lot of fun to watch, never seen it before. Best part was Nick’s face with the “I touched it” scene. 😂 If you want a Mel Brooks film full of crazy stars and cameos, the you should watch Mel Brook’s “Silent Movie” from 1976. There are SO MANY SURPRISES IN THAT MOVIE and I have feeling you and your Mom will LOVE IT. Happy Mother’s Day to Jen!
Thank you! ❤
Yes just love this movie! So silly but fun!
Always laughed at the sending a Fox instead of sending a Fax. Of course to get the joke I have to be old enough to remember fax machines ☹
Hello! I saw someone else commented but definitely excited to see you two react to Scream 6! ☺️
I enjoyed all your previous Scream reactions and it’s my favorite franchise ever!
If you're going down the Mel Brookes rabbit hole, you're likely to enjoy History of the World part 1. It's an anthology of sorts.
If you are looking for a Dom Delouise movie try “The End” within Dom and Burt Reynolds. It’s a little dark in places but it has a good resolution.
You and your mom are so adorable to watch
David DeLuise played Selena Gomez' father on Wizards of Waverly Place.
"That’s an interesting name...Latrine. How did you get it?"
"Changed it in the 9th century."
"Wait, you changed it TO Latrine?"
"Yeah. Used to be Shithouse!"
"Good change...that's a GOOD change!" 😅😅😂😂
Scream 6!!
bad news in a good way?i think i like the parody even more than the original!
