    Costner's...problematical "English" accent was a joke at the time.
    Mel Brooks *loves* musical numbers.
    They originally wanted to get Sean Connery to play the King, so when they couldn't and Patrick Stewart got it, he played it *as* Sean Connery.

    Actually, this is the second time Mel Brooks takes on the Robin Hood legend. After "Get Smart" ended, he did a TV series called "When Things Were Rotten'". The only person to be in both (except maybe for Brooks, I don't remember his camoing in the series, but, I really couldn't say) is Dick Van Patten. In the TV he played Fryer Tuck and in the movie he played the archbishop.

    The actual Robin Hood story has Robin face off with John Little over who crosses the bridge first, as they approach from opposite banks. Robin actually loses, but outshoots Little with a bow. John Little is joined to the Merry Men as Little John. Will Scarlett, in the tales, is Robin's nephew. Will also beats the stuffing out of Robin in a staff battle.

    • @frightenedsoul
      @frightenedsoul 2 роки тому +1

      The story I read also had robin dying by blood letting and he had Little John help him to his window while on his deathbed and he shot an arrow out the window and told John to bury him where the arrow lands.

    11:15 Errol Flyn was Australian but I haven/t seen him recently enough to know what kind of Australian accent he used or if he used a different one for his movies - in his time I think richer people were encouraged to speak more like rich people in English (what they called 'the kings English') but we've moved away from it since then, even though we still won't try to be a completely independent country away from England like America did

    That speech impediment is often thought to be dyslexia, but there are other conditions that have it too. I get it when tired, and either literally cant get a word out my mouth despite "hearing" it in my minds eye, or words or meanings become crossed in my brain...it's weird. Usually a flipped word order or flipped first letter of 2 words.
    Though, I've been known on a rare occasion to even make up words, like when I was running a team planning session and asked for stuff to be ready by "nexterday", I think I had yesterday in my head and combined it with next day?
